Hi,as you can see in the first screenshot, in the X-CUBE-TOUCHGFX settings (TouchGFX Generator tab) the LTDC option for the Application Tick Source is not available. And at the bottom it says "LTDC in only available if enabled".LTDC is enabled and configured (second screenshot). Does it need to be configured and/or enabled in some other ways or some other place too?Thank you :)

Hi,I just updated CubeIDE/CubeMX, and after creating a new project, I began configuring the microcontroller. However, when I tried to install FreeRTOS, it didn’t seem to be available. In the older version of CubeMX, there was a FreeRTOS option under Middleware (as shown in the first screenshot from a video), but it appears to be missing now. I did find X-CUBE-FREERTOS, but it doesn’t seem to offer any options like CMSIS_V1 or CMSIS_V2 or any  ther very many parameters that FreeRTOS that in the previous version were available. What happened?1. Is that X-CUBE-FREERTOS, the only or perhaps the preferred option to use/install hrough MX?2. How do I select CMSIS_V1 or CMSIS_V2 and all other parameters like in the older configurator (third screenshot)?3. Are all ST libraries that rely on FreeRTOS now using X-CUBE-FREERTOS?Thanks you  :)Ricko

Hello everyone! :raising_hands:I’m currently working with the N6 Discovery Board and would like to systematically understand the available CubeAI API functions related to AI features. Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive reference or documentation listing all the functions that can be used?Additionally, I’m looking for learning materials or technical documentation on N6’s display and camera usage (e.g., display drivers, camera interfacing). Does anyone know where to find these resources?Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :rocket::folded_hands:

I’ve encountered a bug in TouchGFX version 4.25 when working with TextAreas. If you manually assign an ID to a TextArea, such as "id_txt_config_ntp", and then duplicate the TextArea (using copy and paste), the second generated one remains linked to the first. Even if you change the ID of the second one, any modification made to either of them affects both.

From what I read we should be able to save JPEG images to an SD card, and then load these into a dynamic bitmap via a combination of FatFS (or whatever) and LibJPEG, in order to display. A couple of questions:Could a texture mapper then use this image, so that we can apply scale and rotate? Are scale and rotate purely done in software, I assume this is the case, but maybe it depends on the MCU?I will be using the STM32U5G9J-DK2 for testing. Many Thanks,Anthony

Hi,Does anyone know if there is a chance for a new N6-device later this year having built in flash of at least 4MB?Our project is currently based on a one chip solution with a custom U5-board with built in FLASH/RAM of 4MB and a 5” Riverdi display. However, we need to migrate to a 7” Riverdi display and a MCU with higher performance. We are in strong favour of shorten time-to-market by keeping a low complexity integration (i.e. no external memories) and a straightforward PCB design. It would be really helpful to us if any plausible market intentions from ST are given. Thanks in advance

Hi,I am using an STM32H7RS MCU (NUCLEO-H7S3L8) and I need to use both USB HS Device and Ethernet MAC.For Ethernet MAC I will only need to use MDIO interface, so I don't think I need a stack for it but please correct me if I am wrong. The MX_ETH_Init code is generated with STM32CubeMX 6.14.0, the pin assignment is according to the schematics:https://www.st.com/resource/en/schematic_pack/mb1737-h7s3l8-b02-schematic.pdf /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file eth.c * @brief This file provides code for the configuration * of the ETH instances. ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS

I have set up a STM32F103 as a I2C master. I have found that calling the function HAL_I2C_Mem_Read sometimes disables all interrupts for more than 140us. Needless to say this causes significant problems with the timing of other external interrupts. The section of code that does this is:   __disable_irq(); /* Read data from DR */ *hi2c->pBuffPtr = (uint8_t)hi2c->Instance->DR; /* Increment Buffer pointer */ hi2c->pBuffPtr++; /* Update counter */ hi2c->XferSize--; hi2c->XferCount--; /* Wait until BTF flag is set */ count = I2C_TIMEOUT_FLAG * (SystemCoreClock / 25U / 1000U); do { count--; if (count == 0U) { hi2c->PreviousState = I2C_STATE_NONE; hi2c->State = HAL_I2C_STATE_READY; hi2c->Mode = HAL_I2C_MODE_NONE; hi2c->ErrorCode |= HAL_I2C_ERROR_TIMEOUT; /* Re-enable IRQs */ __enable_irq(); /* Process Unlocked */ __HAL_UNLOCK(hi2c); return HAL_ERROR; } } while (__HAL_I2C_GET_FLAG(hi2c, I2C_FLAG_BTF) == RESET); /*

When will this product be available in retail ?  The ECO system already supports this board but there is no STMICRO hardware, except the EV board.

Hello everyone,I have a .hex and a .bin file that set an output to high/low on an STM32H745.When I upload the .hex file, my project works correctly, but when I upload the .bin file, it doesn't work.I'm sharing both files.I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can you help me?

I see in the schematic the potentiometer is referenced on pin 25, however I only see the PWM firmware setup example. Can someone point me to the correct setup?

I am trying to control a 24V PMSM type motor using ST Motor Control Workbench version 6.3.1 with the FOC.I have run Motor Profiler and then gotten the electrical and mechanical parameters.I have three questions and can anybody help/answer them?I am running Motor Profiler without load? Am I doing correct? When creating a project using Motor Control Workbench, do I need to update the inertia and friction coefficients in the motor stage depending on the load (please see attachment)? If the answer is no, where should I include the inertia and friction of the load in the project?May I measure PMSM type motor inertia and friction coefficients with load? If yes, how can I do it?Thanks in advance.

Hello i'm using STM32WB05KZ (nucleo board) : Nucleo-WB05KZ with STM32CubemonitorRF Please why here i can't select  "Get RSSI" , it's locked ? and other question how can i modifie the outpout power (TX) of the antenna ( dBm) ?  thank you

Hello,This is in regard to the question I posted at the webinar on AI-powered gesture recognition with Time-of-Flight sensors held on 3/11.  Can the orientation of the VL53L8CX ToF sensor be detected in case it is moved and possibly gets inverted after training is done?  I'm interested in correctly detecting gestures like LIKE/DISLIKE and SWIPE RIGHT/LEFT even if the sensor has been turned upside down after the overall device is trained.  The solution should work correctly for left- and right-handed persons.  It's ok to add MEMS sensors to the overall project but I prefer trying to solve problems with software first rather than just throw hardware at them, as long as the extra software doesn't bog down the MCU.Thanks in advance and best regards,Bruce

usart1 connectedHercules setup utility     Issue with Sending Bootloader Command on STM32According to AN3155, the 0x7F command should initialize the USART. I have ensured that I am in bootloader mode and have made the following connections:Connect the USART1_RX pin of the STM32 to the TX pin of the FTDI module.Connect the USART1_TX pin of the STM32 to the RX pin of the FTDI module.Ensure a common ground between the STM32 and the FTDI module.Set the BOOT0 pin high to enter boot mode by connecting it to the VDD pin (do not use any other pin).Power the STM32 via USB by connecting it to your host and also power the FTDI module via USB by connecting it to your host.Open Device Manager and locate the FTDI module’s port (not the STM32 port). Select that port in STM32CubeProgrammer, set the baud rate to 115200, parity to even, and tap on connect. It should connect successfully. To send the bootloader command, I am using the Hercules setup utility. I have configured the

Hi, Greetings!! We have implemented internal DAC (DAC1 and DAC2 both) in STM32F446RE chip. Both the DAC gives identical analog voltage from the range of 0-1V corresponding to the measurement reading of 0-100.  This analog output voltage is connected to the data logger through DAC1, whereas the DAC2 is not connected anywhere.  During the testing (After 5 days after the device is powered on and kept under observation) it has been observed that the DAC1 output stopped working. When compared with the DAC2 output (which is not connected to data logger or any other system) is working as expected.  This has happened multiple times on multiple devices. Any suggestion why this is happening and what precautions are required while handling the DAC signal.  No protection circuit is implemented at the DAC output. DAC output is directly connected to the data logger and other interconnection system( another MCU which is reading this DAC voltage) Kindly share the views.  Attac

Hi,I am using an LIS2DE12 in I2c mode.  During setup, my code:- wrote 0 to CTRL_REG4 (BDU=0, FS=00, ST=00, and SIM=0)- wrote 0 to CTRL_REG2 (no high-pass filtering)- wrote 0 to CTRL_REG5 (disable FIFO)- wrote 0 to FIFO_CTRL_REG (selects Bypass mode)- wrote 0b00111111 to CTRL_REG1 (sets ODR to 25Hz (40ms), LPen=1, X=1, Y=1, Z=1 which enables all 3 axes). Then, approximately once every 100ms, my code does the following:- It reads STATUS_REG and confirms that the 3 least significant bits are all 1.- With one I2c transaction, it reads 5 bytes starting with register 0x29 (with the 0x80 bit set). This gives me the value from OUT_X_H in the first byte, OUT_Y_H in the third byte, and the value from OUT_Z_H in the fifth byte. Will the values I get from OUT_X_H, OUT_Y_H, and OUT_Z_H always be coherent, i.e. from the same measurement?OR is it possible that the chip could update some of these registers with a new measurement at the same time that my I2c transaction is reading them, such that on

Hi! I've been testing the VL53L4CX sensor for the past few months and have finally decided to take a look at its additional histogram data. My most recent test is a measurement of an empty black bucket with a white sheet inside (to increase reflectivity). While the distance measured is accurate, the histogram data, which I expected to be somewhat static, seems to oscillate between two histogram shapes. The data below is distance, minimum distance and max distance measured.244,244,246, 2025-03-10 11:48:04.530766241,241,330, 2025-03-10 11:48:04.727428243,243,245, 2025-03-10 11:48:04.926467241,241,330, 2025-03-10 11:48:05.124474243,243,245, 2025-03-10 11:48:05.322733241,241,330, 2025-03-10 11:48:05.519547243,243,331, 2025-03-10 11:48:05.711350Below are the histograms (AdditionalData.VL53LX_p_006.bin_data) for each measurement.847,860,895,867,757,815,139036,190843,89753,1021,794,804,848,803,827,828,790,853,892,731,833,759,843,803, 2025-03-10 11:48:04.530766704,729,118073,161246,72683,950,69

Hi everyone,I'm working on deploying an object detection model on the STM32N6570-DK board. While I have successfully deployed it, I noticed a significant drop in accuracy during live testing compared to the floating-point YOLOv8 model.I'm now considering using INT16 quantization instead of INT8. My question is: How can I quantize the model to INT16? The tutorial I’m following states that quantization is only available for UINT8 and INT8.Additionally, is it possible to deploy an object detection model using X-CUBE-AI in STM32CubeMX? I haven’t been able to find any tutorials on object detection with X-CUBE-AI.Any guidance or resources would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, I am using the STM32F429ZI board. I enabled the hardware-independent watchdog timer using STM32CubeProgrammer option bytes. However, there are no errors or faults in my project—I have only enabled the GPIO and UART peripherals. But after enabling the hardware watchdog and performing a power-on reset, my board keeps resetting continuously. On the other hand, when I enabled the software-independent watchdog timer using firmware, the board did not reset. Why is this issue occurring only with the hardware watchdog timer? I also tried refreshing the IWDG after enabling the hardware-independent watchdog timer, but it still keeps resetting my board.

Hello Friends. Now i have started working on bigger display with TouchGFX Custom Boards. Im using 10.1 inch 1024x600 touch display. using QUADSPI,SDRAM, FMC and LTDC. Through TouchGFX Designer i taken one backgoround image, one Text Area buffer and one Digital clock. when im not updating digital clock data and text area im  getting proper display.but when i starts updating digital clock in void screenView::handleTickEvent() then my display starts flickering and white lines appearing on display. my LTDC configuration:void MX_LTDC_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN LTDC_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END LTDC_Init 0 */ LTDC_LayerCfgTypeDef pLayerCfg = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN LTDC_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END LTDC_Init 1 */ hltdc.Instance = LTDC; hltdc.Init.HSPolarity = LTDC_HSPOLARITY_AL; hltdc.Init.VSPolarity = LTDC_VSPOLARITY_AL; hltdc.Init.DEPolarity = LTDC_DEPOLARITY_AL; hltdc.Init.PCPolarity = LTDC_PCPOLARITY_IPC; hltdc.Init.HorizontalSync = 40; hlt

I was happily debugging some code in my NUCLEO-F207ZG, the whole morning the debug sessions (stm32cubeIDE) have been quite glitchy.Until the mcu somehow got briked and i cannot revive it.I suspect noise in the SW lines comming from some external LEDs nearby had something to do with this issue, or power fluctuations when programming.I am unable to Read the FLash content so i connected the board to the stCUBEProgrammer.12:42:36:814 : STLinkUSBDriver.dll loaded 12:42:36:819 : STLinkUSBDriver.dll loaded 12:42:36:819 : ST-LINK SN : 066FFF323239524257191044 12:42:36:820 : ST-LINK FW : V2J39M27 12:42:36:821 : Board : NUCLEO-F207ZG 12:42:36:821 : Voltage : 3.24V 12:42:36:836 : SWD freq : 4000 KHz 12:42:36:837 : Connect mode: Under Reset 12:42:36:837 : Reset mode : Hardware reset 12:42:36:838 : Device ID : 0x411 12:42:36:850 : Revision ID : Rev 2.0 12:42:36:871 : flash loader C:\Program Files\STMicroelectronics\STM32Cube\STM32CubeProgrammer\bin/FlashLoader/0x411.stldr is loaded 12:4

Hello STM support, It seems that the depiction of the TIM15 TPCLK on the clock configuration tab of STM32Cube incorrectly shows TPCLK as 2x16MHz=32MHz when should be 16MHz, same as PCLK.I found this issue after setting TIM15 as shown in the attached screenshot. The resulting clock configuration should trigger the IRQ every 1 second, however I measured 2 seconds between each trigger. Recalculating the prescaler and counter period for a 16MHz clock yields the correct behavior.Figure 11 in RM0503 also seems to show that there is no 2x multiplication from PCLK to TIMPCLK. Is this an error in STM32Cube or something I am misinterpreting? My selected MCU reference in my ioc file is STM32U031R8Tx.

Hi,Is it possible to use the Prolific USBX library without ThreadX Core? In STM32CubeMX, when I deselect ThreadX Core, the Prolific USBX option is no longer available. However, I can generate the USBX CDC-ACM library without enabling ThreadX.Could you provide some information on this? I couldn’t find any relevant details in my searches.I am using STM32H563.Thanks!
