Hello,I have an application which I would like to build on to of cubeMX generated HAL driver, but I came across strange issue that I am unable to keep RTC value on reset. Drivers part is as generated with cube using freeRTOS. system reset is triggered with `NVIC_SystemReset()`, MX_RTC_Init is as follows:/* RTC init function */ void MX_RTC_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN RTC_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END RTC_Init 0 */ RTC_TimeTypeDef sTime = {0}; RTC_DateTypeDef sDate = {0}; RTC_AlarmTypeDef sAlarm = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN RTC_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END RTC_Init 1 */ /** Initialize RTC Only */ hrtc.Instance = RTC; hrtc.Init.HourFormat = RTC_HOURFORMAT_24; hrtc.Init.AsynchPrediv = 127; hrtc.Init.SynchPrediv = 255; hrtc.Init.OutPut = RTC_OUTPUT_DISABLE; hrtc.Init.OutPutRemap = RTC_OUTPUT_REMAP_NONE; hrtc.Init.OutPutPolarity = RTC_OUTPUT_POLARITY_HIGH; hrtc.Init.OutPutType = RTC_OUTPUT_TYPE_OPENDRAIN; hrtc.Init.OutPutPullUp = RTC_OUTPUT_PULLUP_NONE; if (HAL_RTC_

I have been using SPC5-UDESTK with a STM58 evaluation board. I now need to start working with multiple cores, but it appears that the starter kit license does not support this functionality. Will the SPC5-UDEDEBG license allow for multi-core debugging? The documentation for SPC5-UDEDEBG specifies core 2 only, while PLS mentions multi-core support for the SPC58 family. If SPC5-UDEDEBG does not support multi-core debugging, what other tools have users successfully used for this purpose?

I try to combine the enocer mode of TIM1 with a encoder clock period measument using TIM8. The RM0456 (for U5) mentions this in the end of chapter 54.3.25 under the heading "Encoder clock output". TIM1 works fine and counts up and down according to the encoder signals. Now I want to measure very low speeds where encoder pulses happen only "now and then". My settings: * TIM1 CR2 MMS set to 0b1000: tim_trgo = Ecoder Clock Out* TIM8: Internal clock scaled down to 1Mhz (works fine, it counts as expected)* TIM8 CCMR1 CC1S set to 0b11 = TRC* TIM8 SMCR TS = 0000 = tim_itr0 = TIM1 trgoafter enabling TIM8 and TIM1 I never get an actual capture - somehow the trgo - TSC - CC1 signal chain seems not to work. Does anyone have an idea what I am missing?

I urgently need to get USB High Speed working on USB1 of the STM32N6570-DK. I have attached the .ioc file I am using.I am able to get the GPIO_IOToggle project working on the board. I am able to put breakpoints step through the code.I am using  STM32CubeIDE version 1.18.0 (Build: 24413_20250227_1633 (UTC)).As a second step, I need ThreadX working on the board.

I have RFID reading with ST25R3911 working now with RFAL and  I would like to sense if there is a RFID tag nearby before starting RFID reading. I did not find any example code in RFAL. I looked into data sheet and tried to read the registers:st25r3911ReadRegister(0x3C, &c); printf("CapA %d\n\r", c); st25r3911ReadRegister(0x3D, &c); printf("Cap %d\n\r", c); st25r3911ReadRegister(0x2B, &c); printf("Volt %d\n\r", c);but I just get zeros:CapA 0Cap 0Volt 176 How shall this be done?

I am trying to use the bootloader of the STM32G474QET6 with USART to program my microcontroller. I have multiple questions regarding this but the first one is more about hardware. I have found in AN2606 that for the bootloader I can only use one of three USART, as listed under :So after this info, I can use either USART1, 2 or 3 but when I look at the pins attached and at the datasheet of my microcontroller, pins for USART3 on the MCU are not PC11 and PC10. The thing is on my PCB I've decided to use PB10 and PB11, and according to the datasheet, they are the pins of USART3.So my question is pretty simple, which document is right and which should I follow ? Am I going to need to change anything ? Thanks for the answers !

I have a new STM32U5G9J-DK2 board. I have to port an application running on STM32H747I-DiSCO board.I have a big problem with setting brightness in the new board. In STM32H747I-DiSCO app I used:extern "C" { void LCD_SetBrightness(int value); }The LCD_SetBrightness() function is implemented in TouchGFXHAL.cpp file for the H7 processor. The same thing does not work with U5 processor because the TouchGFXHAL.cpp file does not contain the LCD_SetBrightness() function.So, the question is how I can set the LCD brightness in STM32U5G9J-DK2 board.I tried using the brightness control implemented in Board Support Package but calling BSP_LCD_SetBrightness(0, 50)  (50% brightness) causes Hard_Fault() interrupt... Nice!Can somebody help? Thanks,Louis

Hi Everyone,I interfaced Nucleo F767ZI with W25Q256JV using SPI and everything was working fine. But due to time and speed requirements, now I have to shift it to QSPI. I have used example code of STM Document named "QSPI_F769_discovery_flashloader" and developed a code for QSPI. But whenever I try to run the code and write/read the memory, nothing happens. I started to run code in debug on STMCube IDE and found that when try to send command to enable write and read status register, the register value doesn't change to write enable (0x02).Always fail here and Error LED turns ON.if (HAL_QSPI_AutoPolling(&hqspi, &sCommand, &sConfig, HAL_QPSI_TIMEOUT_DEFAULT_VALUE) != HAL_OK) { HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_7, GPIO_PIN_SET); return QSPI_ERROR; }The Write Enable function is here.uint8_t QSPI_WriteEnable(void) { QSPI_CommandTypeDef sCommand; QSPI_AutoPollingTypeDef sConfig; memset(&sCommand, 0, sizeof(sCommand)); memset(&sConfig, 0, sizeof(sConfig)); /* Enab

Should I care?

Hi all,I'd just like to report an error on the reference manual for RMSTM32F411 (RM 0383 Rev 3).The error is located on page 471, on section RTC Register Map.The table showcase all registers for the RCC and miss the entry for RTC_SHIFTR (located at address offset 0x2C) and also for RTC_TSDR (located at address offset 0x34). Here, 0x2C and 0x34 are missing from the register map.

When temperature below -15℃ , STM32WLE5CCU6 UART can't  receive any data from uart, But it can send data out from UART.,and The LoRa Unit worked well,It seems the TXCO is working. What's the problem? How can solve this problem?

Hello, ST experts The temperature sensor in STM32U595 is used for a mesurement. As datasheet said TS_CAL1 can be read at address 0x0BFA0710~0x0BFA0711. But this value is for 3.0V VREF, how is the situation if VREF and VDDA is 3.3V? How can I get the true temperature. E.g. for a chip I have the TS_CAL1 is 4130. What does that mean for 3.3V VREF? BRYang

Hello, would it cause any issues if 'PWR_GND' (highlighted in green) and 'SGN_GND' (highlighted in pink) are not referenced to the same ground?Thank you in advance. Best regards.

Hi to all.I'm testing the Nucleo U031R8. To avoid the Package issue i switch also to the old package firmware version (1.0.0), but same error.The example is UART_HyperTerminal_IT  and i simple cloned (or compiled directly in the repository), then execute without cars sending on the virtual comm port.The progran stuck in function "UART_CheckIdleState", because the timeout of function "UART_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout" is set to 0x1FFFFFFU via macro.Is my new board damaged or similar? I've tried to rebuild the project via CubeMX (even in the recent 1.2.0 libs). No way. Thanks.

Hi,So I have been trying for last few days to port a library from Arduino and I am using STM32CubeIDE to generate code for the peripherals as it would be quick for my work and I do not want to change the Arduino code much other than the required things. The library is purely written in C++.I have created a C++ project in CubeIDE but it is generating main.c file. One solution that I found after searching on the internet was to rename the main.c to main.cpp. I did that and it worked, the compiler compiled ran the main.cpp successfully but whenever I change some settings through .ioc file it regenerates the main.c file and I have to move the changes from main.c to main.cpp. I am pretty sure that there have to be  a proper way to create c++ projects for stm32 boards. Suggest me whatever is the proper way to do this. Another solution that I found was to use main.c some how and call .cpp in main.c but I an unable to use that method because lack of understanding how that would work.Kindl

Hi.In AN5593, How to use the GPDMA for STM32 MCUs, on page 31, it says:"For some application needs, a timer request to GPDMA can be used to initiate a data transfer not involving timerregisters read/write, but other memory-mapped location, like for memory‑to‑memory transfers."How exactly do I do this?My precise use case: I have an 8*3 LED matrix, with the 8 rows connected to PA0:7. I have a uint8_t[3] of the data I want displayed and TIM8 configured at the frequency I want to update the columns at.Thanks for the help!

Dear @KDJEM.1 ,I have seen that in STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.16.0 this issue is solved if the "Generate peripheral inizialization as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral" is NOT selected in the ".ioc". Otherwise, the problem keeps there and "HAL_PWREx_EnableVddUSB()" is not called.Here, you can see the code if the option is NOT selected:    void HAL_PCD_MspInit(PCD_HandleTypeDef* hpcd) { RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef PeriphClkInitStruct = {0}; if(hpcd->Instance==USB_DRD_FS) { /* USER CODE BEGIN USB_DRD_FS_MspInit 0 */ /* USER CODE END USB_DRD_FS_MspInit 0 */ /** Initializes the peripherals clock */ PeriphClkInitStruct.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_USB; PeriphClkInitStruct.UsbClockSelection = RCC_USBCLKSOURCE_HSI48; if (HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&PeriphClkInitStruct) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } /* Enable VDDUSB */ HAL_PWREx_EnableVddUSB(); /* Peripheral clock enable */ __HAL_RCC_USB_CLK_ENABLE(); /* USB_DRD_FS interrupt Init */ HAL_

I am starting to experiment with stm32f411vet6 (discovery), I have passion for STM32, looking forward to learn and help.When I turn on UART 6 and test, the default pins are PA9 and PA10, however it doesn't work (some error characters like question mark appear and don't work anymore). However when I switch PA9 and PA10 to PB3 and PA15, UART 6 works fine.I tried setting PA9 and P10 with output feature then PA9 and PA10 work properly. So what are the possibilities why PA9 and PA10 don't work with UART mode? And how to test it?Thanks!

I can't get TIM15 or TIM17 to work on a Nucleo-F302R8 board. If I examine the peripheral memory where TIM15 (0x40014000) and TIM17 (0x40014800) should be, I always read back all zeros.For example, using gdb I write to the timer's ARR register and then read back:For TIM15: set *0x4001402c =0x5a5ax/20xw 0x40014000 returns all zeros.For TIM16: set *0x4001442c =0x5a5ax/20xw 0x40014400 returns the expected value at 0x4001442c.For TIM17: set *0x4001482c =0x5a5ax/20xw 0x40014800 returns all zeros.According to the stm32f302r6-8.pdf data sheet, the STM32F302R8 has both TIM15 and TIM17 timers. I tested this on a brand new, unused Nucleo-F302R8 board and a used one.What am I missing?Thanks,Tom

Hi, I'm using a STM32L031K6 with platform.io & arduino framework. I know this forum is not relevant to platform.io or arduino, but most of my code is with LL drivers which should change nothing (but maybe ?). First, i don't understand the IRQn. I'm using PB1 as input interrupt on rising, it's on line 1, so to start, it should be : NVIC_EnableIRQ(EXTI0_1_IRQn, NVIC_EncodePriority(NVIC_GetPriorityGrouping(),0, 0)); //as refered : EXTI0_1_IRQn = 5, /*!< EXTI Line 0 and 1 Interrupts But the interrupt work only if i enable EXTI2_3_IRQn. I don't get it, and in example EXTI_ToggleLedOnIT for NUCLEO-L073RZ, there is the same +1 on IRQn.So, change made, and i can see the change of the interrupt on IEXTI->PR, depending on the rising on PB1. the problem is the call back function. On STM32 IDE, there is a *_it.h/c which don't exist on platform.io. Maybe the point come here.First, i wanted to change the function handler using :void IRQ_Module_0(void) {;} NVIC_SetVector(EX

Hi,I am using the continuous mode of the ADC to continuously sample a channel and transfer the data by DMA. I have set the ADC frequency to 32 Mhz , and the sampling CLK to 3.5 CLK. According to the manual , the whole sampling conversion time should be 0.5us. But based on the difference between the data I got  and the actual waveform, I assume that the interval between each data is much longer than 0.5us.What I want to confirm is whether the ADC is able to do the sampling interval up to 0.4us（The manual claims that） in continuous mode. if not, how should the time be calculated.Thanks

Hello,I would like to enable and disable certain interrupts pertaining to the GPDMAs within my program at times. Particularly the transfer complete interrupt. I would assume that I should be able to simply change the register value with GPDMA2->C0CR &=~GPDMA_C0CR_TCIE; but it appears that im only allowed to reference the SECCGFR, PRIVCFGR, RCFGLOCKR, MISR, and SMISR registers. Why is this the case? What must I do to be able to disable the TCIE interrupt? I have tried to use __HAL_DMA_DISABLE_IT(&hdma_adc2, DMA_IT_TC); which throws a hard fault.Thank you!

Hello everyone,I got the above mentioned Eval boards with the following adaptions to suit my application:- Tx coil connected to STEVAL-WBC86TX: WE 760308101104 - Rx coil  connected to STEVAL-WLC38RX: Custom PCB antenna with ~1.5 µH self-inductance, ~ 9 x 9 mm^2 size- Rx Ctank: 1.57 µF --> leads to a resonance frequency of ~102 kHz for the receiver circuit When I place the receiver coil in 2 mm distance to the transmit coil, I can see the ping by a repeating short light-up of D7 on the STEVAL-WLC38RX board. However, there is no power transfer and STSW-WPSTUDIO connected to the transmitter indicates a signal strength timeout as EPT reason. Here is my TX configuration:Also, here is a screenshot of the AC1 & AC2 signal on the receiver coil that I can see when the transmitter sends a ping:I assume that the coupling between my antennas is too bad for a sucessful communication and power transfer between the boards. Is there any measure I can take on the Tx side to improv

Hello! I am continuing my journey to Zigbee on WB55 and facing new strange behaviorIf i select Temperature measurement server or Pressure measurement server or whatever server, the code hangs on zigbee_app_info.temperature_meas_server_1 = ZbZclTempMeasServerAlloc(zigbee_app_info.zb, SW1_ENDPOINT, TEMP_MIN_1, TEMP_MAX_1, TEMP_TOLERANCE_1); If I choose a client, the process of joining has successfully started. If I choose something where i should not choose MIN/MAX of measurement, the process of joining successfully startedI use MIN/MAX params what I've found in the TemperatureMeasServerCoord example#define TEMP_MIN_1 (int16_t)0xf060 /* -40C */#define TEMP_MAX_1 (int16_t)0x30d4 /* 125C */#define TEMP_TOLERANCE_1 (int16_t)0x0032 /* +-0.5C */But, i cant set `TEMP_MIN_1 ` in the CubeMX - it just drops my attempts to set HEX and returns to it's initial negative value.This values are unsuccessful too #define TEMP_MIN_1 -4000#define TEMP_MAX_1 0x30d4#define TEMP_TOLERANCE_1
