I am currently using multiple STM32U5 series and STM32L4 series MCUs in a single system.I would like to share a single physical programming port (e.g., SWD or UART) among these MCUs and switch between them to program each one individually.I have already confirmed that ST-LINK cannot program multiple MCUs simultaneously.Based on this premise, is it possible to share a programming port between multiple MCUs and still program them individually?If it is possible, could you please advise on the method?Thank you in advance for your support.

Look at this beauty. In touchgfx\framework\include\touchgfx\hal\Types.hpp:static const float PI = 3.14159265358979323846f; ///< PIIn CMSIS-DSP\Include\dsp\fast_math_functions.h#ifndef PI #define PI 3.14159265358979f #endifFortunately, the conflict is caught at compile time.It’s an exceptionally rare situation when you might need something from TouchGFX (e.g., instrumentation) and CMSIS-DSP at the same time — but when it happens, you get this delightful collision.Just in case anyone is compiling a list of tricky interview questions.

I am a new user looking to configure the STEVAL-IPM30B evaluation board to drive a three phase dc motor.  I am uncertain which of the many STM32 boards I require.  Also, what type of cable is needed to connect the two boards?  My application requirements are basic on and off control of the motor at different speeds with open loop operation (I am using a three phase stepping motor).

Hello everyone, I’m currently experiencing difficulties with setting up CAN communication on my STM32F4 microcontroller. Despite having configured the CAN interface and connecting it to a CAN transceiver, I observe no activity on my designated can_tx and can_rx pins. I have a second node connected for communication testing. /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS. * ****************************************************************************** */ /* USER CODE END Header */ /* Includes

Moved from this thread. HiI'm experiencing the same issue that others have reported with the STM32H755ZIT6. Despite following all the suggested solutions step by step from various forum threads, I’m still unable to debug or run code on my Nucleo board. Every time I try, the board locks, and I have to manually erase the flash by wiring BOOT0 to VDD to recover it. I'm using the latest version of STM32CubeIDE, and I’ve attached some screenshots of my project setup for reference. I’d appreciate any guidance or additional suggestions you might have.

Hi everybody,I'm trying to set up a communication with a can bus.I'm using a STM32F446. I use PB12 & PB13 (CAN2). I can see RX frames on PB12.I'd like to read frames that I received by using interrupts.I've found this example : https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeL4/blob/master/Projects/STM32L476G-EVAL/Examples/CAN/CAN_Networking/Src/main.cBut, I have put a breakpoint on the interrupt, but it never goes in.static void MX_CAN2_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN CAN2_Init 0 */ CAN_FilterTypeDef sFilterConfig2; /* USER CODE END CAN2_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE BEGIN CAN2_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END CAN2_Init 1 */ hcan2.Instance = CAN2; hcan2.Init.Prescaler = 12; hcan2.Init.Mode = CAN_MODE_NORMAL; hcan2.Init.SyncJumpWidth = CAN_SJW_1TQ; hcan2.Init.TimeSeg1 = CAN_BS1_8TQ; hcan2.Init.TimeSeg2 = CAN_BS2_6TQ; hcan2.Init.TimeTriggeredMode = DISABLE; hcan2.Init.AutoBusOff = DISABLE; hcan2.Init.AutoWakeUp = DISABLE; hcan2.Init.AutoRetransmission = DISABLE; hcan2.Init

Hi,couldn't find any STM32 dev kit that has DSI display interface and a demo where it plays video (or at least graphics) directly from SD card using DMA.Which ST dev kit does that? Thank you

Specifically, I require a timer for creating a clock to a peripheral.  I chose PH5 (Timer12 Channel 2) because of the allocation capability in CubeMX, however, the datasheet for the STM32H757 does not show that as an alternate function.I have confirmed that both the CubeMX software and datasheets are the latest versions...My question is, which resource is correct and if the Alternate function is available for PH9, which AF code do I use?  It is not listed anywhere.

Hello,I'm planning to use the STM32F413VGT3 in my project. It says it has three CAN buses. Can I use these three lines independently? Some of my research (ChatGPT) indicates that the third CAN line is not a standard CAN bus. I'd appreciate any clarification on this matter.Best regards.

Hello everyone,I want to understand to clear my mind about regenerative brake MC library. I dont have ossiloscope.Assume P-NUCLEO IHM03. I am using it with different motor with HALL sensors with load. in speed control -> MC_ProgramSpeedRampMotor1_F(targetspeed, rampduration);   TO MC_ProgramSpeedRampMotor1_F(0, rampduration);Now we get energy from Motor to Battery, right?But because of no control of this energy, if Voltage is too high then can gives damage the battery.1-let me know. Can MC library observe the Voltage and if it is too high direct it to Motor coils to consume like low side pwm turn on( as much as I know in this case entire energy consumed in motor), or we gonna do it manual, if it manual how we gonna do that(function name?)  2- assume we have high power resistor parallel to VBus(as much as I know this resistor connect like that ?), In this case ,how we gonna direct the current to Resistor.(function name)Please make my mind clear abou

I have been testing the USBPD firmware examples SNK1M1_Sink and DRP1M1_DRP (the board is the NUCLEO-G474RE). When a PD source is connected to the board running either example and then the board is reset, it will then renegotiate the contract with the source.I have my own project (STM32G0B1RE) with two ports, a UFP (sink) and a DRP (sink/source). When I connect a source to either port and then reset the board, it doesn't renegotiate the contract like the firmware examples. I need to get this behaviour so that the board will behave correctly if it has to reset.Can anyone help me to work out why? I have tried resetting the board with the debugger attached, and confirmed that USBPD_DPM_UserCableDetection() gets called with State=USBPD_CAD_EVENT_ATTACHED on the connected port after reset (so the source is detected).For now I am focussing only on the UFP, so please ignore any DRP/tcpp03 code below.Here are the parts that I've changed from the defaults. Please let me know if you need any

Hello all,im currently trying to fine tune a mobileNetV2 model that is pretrained on imageNet on my own dataset.However when im adapting the user_config.yaml i dont know how to switch between mobileNetV2 1.0 and mobileNetV2 1.4 as i would like to see the difference between those versions in inference, accuracy and size.Heres my code block for the training of the user_config.yaml later used by the stm32ai_main.py script:training:model:name: mobilenetversion: v2alpha: 0.35pretrained_weights: imagenetinput_shape: (224, 224, 3)frozen_layers: Nonebatch_size: 32epochs: 100dropout: 0.3optimizer:Adam:learning_rate: 0.001callbacks:ReduceLROnPlateau:monitor: val_accuracyfactor: 0.5patience: 10EarlyStopping:monitor: val_accuracypatience: 40I didnt find any paramter that actually determines if the mobileNetV2 is version 1.0 or 1.4...Kind regards!

Hello, I'm using STM32L471 and Micron MT25QL NOR Flash with single SPI interface. MT25 is also connected with other MCU (NRF52) using the same lines. I'm trying to write STM firmware in BOOT0 serial bootloader controlled by NRF using STM's USART3. The firmware is stored in MT25, NRF reads it using SPI, and transfers it to STM using UART.The problem is that when STM booted in bootloader mode, it seems that STM initializes SPI interface with Push-Pull configuration on MISO line. This behavior causes a collision between MISO signal of STM and MT25, the signal level goes intermediate level about 2.0V, and the result is NRF reads FFh.So my questions are:Is there a way to disable STM SPI in bootloader mode?To solve this, I'm considering that NRF keeps STM in reset state while NRF is reading 4KB (e.g.,) from MT25 , then let STM boot with BOOT0=H and write firmware data on its internal flash, repeat it until all firmware is written. Is there any possibility of problems when resetting and

Hi everyone,   I couldn't find the application note on STM32WB0 MCU hardware development. Can I refer to AN5290 which is for STM32WB instead of the STM32WB0. If so, is there anything I would need to pay attention to for the STM32WB0 series? Or should I reference from the NUCLEO-WB07CC's schematics instead?    Thank you for your time and help!

Hi everyone, I'm using STM32G474 with dual-bank Flash enabled (nDBANK = 0) and booting from Bank2 (BFB2 = 1). I'm implementing OTA firmware update by writing to the inactive bank while executing from the active one. The update from Bank1 → Bank2 works fine. But in the second update cycle, when running from Bank2 and trying to write to Bank1 (starting at address 0x08000000), HAL_FLASH_Program() always fails on the first double-word. I have: Verified that Write Protection is disabled (checked in STM32CubeProgrammer) Unlocked Flash properly Erased the target pages beforehand No PCROP or secure area configured on Bank1 Flash error flag is HAL_FLASH_ERROR_WRITE_PROTECTION sometimes (even though WRP is not set) I found some similar cases reported online (e.g. this one) where users mentioned that writing to Bank1 from Bank2 fails silently. Is there an undocumented silicon limitation on STM32G4 when programming Bank1 from Bank2? I would appreciate any official clarification or work

Hi, what is the best way to wake from Low Power Sleep when an Encoder is rotated?I have TIM2 setup in encoder mode and it works when in Low Power Run. I just want to switch back from LP Sleep to LP Run when it's turned. Looking in stm32l4xx_hal_tim.c I have not been able get a solution.This did not work://Wake up from Encodervoid HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim){if (htim->Instance == TIM2){LowPowerSleepToRun();}}I have TIM2 global interrupt set in CubeMX.I have buttons that do this via EXTI, so the LowPowerSleepToRun function works.If you can keep the reply to HAL and CubeMX solutions I would appreciate it.Thanks in advance, Lance.

Hello,I'm having an issue with the STM32L4A6(1Mb) and the dual-bank.First of all, I tried with the NUCLEO-L476 and a simple blink led. It worked fine.Now, my project is based on a STM32L4A6, but the firmware doesn't start in BANK2.For simplicity, I did the same program blink led as for the STM32L476This is what I implemented in SystemInit():VECT_TAB_OFFSET is 0x80000void SystemInit(void) { #if defined(USER_VECT_TAB_ADDRESS) /* Configure the Vector Table location -------------------------------------*/ FLASH_OBProgramInitTypeDef FLASH_OBProgramInit = {0}; //Read all options bits HAL_FLASHEx_OBGetConfig(&FLASH_OBProgramInit); //Check the BFB2 bit if (FLASH_OBProgramInit.USERConfig & FLASH_OPTR_BFB2) SCB->VTOR = VECT_TAB_BASE_ADDRESS | VECT_TAB_OFFSET; else SCB->VTOR = VECT_TAB_BASE_ADDRESS; #endif /* FPU settings ------------------------------------------------------------*/ #if (__FPU_PRESENT == 1) && (__FPU_USED == 1) SCB->CPACR |= ((3

Hi, Im new to STM32 and Im writing a bare metal spi library however for some reason when I try to change the SSM bit in code it doesnt seem to work. Im able to change the SSM bit in debug mode. void SPI_Enable(SPI_Com* spi) { SPI1_CLK_EN; //Reset the whole CR1 register if someone decides to enable it using different options //First disable SPI spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 &= ~(1 << 6); spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 = 0; //CPOL and CPHA spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.CPHA); spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.CPOL << 1); //Master, Slave mode spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.masterMode << 2); //Set baud rate spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.baudRate << 3); //MSB or LSB first spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.isLSB << 7); //Data format spi->spiReg->SPI_CR1 |= (spi->spiConfig.dataFormat << 11); //Software Slave SSM and SSI bits //spi->

Hello All,I have received a PCB which is used in a battery pack that i am working on. Unfortunately the CM does not communicate any more and the last he told me was that they did not flash the devices. The PCB has basic functionalities like displaying battery power via LED lighting, charging battery and discharging and couple of WIFI, BT modules that are connected to the MCU - STM32G0B1CEU6N microcontroller (MCU) Upon looking at the schematic - the PCB has SWD and JTAG.I tried connecting the PCB via ST-LINK-V2 to STM32Programmer but the software does not detect at all.I checked the SWDIO, SWCLK, NRST, GND wiring (made sure they are all correct by checking continuity) gave VDD power input to the 3.3 V input on ST-LINK-V2 but no luck. What i would like to understand is that could this be an RDP issue? where RDP level 1 is blocked and i need to connect via JTAG to enter the MCU and be able to flash it?Thanks for the help..

I used the settings and code below for a simple project: Blink an external DIP LED using the blue pill:In Pinout & Configuration:- PA5 => GPIO_Output- user label: LEDThe wire connections (like screenshot below):PA5 pin => Resistor => Long leg (anode) of LEDShort leg (cathode) => GND on Blue Pill  And finally code: while (1) { HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(LED_GPIO_Port, LED_Pin); HAL_Delay(500); /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ }But the LED doesn't turn on!What could be the reason? The .ioc file is also attached.

I have designed an L476 into a simple controller (BMS) and am trying to use the opamp and ADC and comparators to read the current, and implement a hardware fast overcurrent protection.The opamp is working fine in PGA mode G16. I can see as I inject 20A across the current sensors, the stm pin goes up and down in voltage on my oscilloscope.The ADC is set up in scan mode, with 14 conversions, and the rest of the channels read fine; I am reading lots of thermistors and input/output voltages and such like.The opamp channel is simply returning noise between 475 and 493 counts irrespective of the current I inject (20A injected results in about 100mV shift in the opamp signal)I have replicated this on a very simple sketch: /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_ADC1_Init(); MX_OPAMP2_Init(); MX_TIM3_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ HAL_OPAMP_Start(&hopamp2); HAL_ADCEx_Calibration_Start(&hadc1, ADC_SINGLE_ENDED); HAL_Delay(100); HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&ht

Our use of the VL534LCD is within what we call a bin.  A long rectangular container.  The sensors job is to measure the distance to items placed into the bin.  Very contained environment with little interference.  When we calibrate the sensor we do this when our bin is empty.  There is a white panel always at the beginning of the container bin which moves forward (backwards) along a track when items are placed in it or taken out.  When it is empty it is stationary at 231mm.  So,  we calibrate using 231mm.When we calibrate to 231mm we get back offsets from the sensor > -45.  These seem unusually large to me? Why would this be?
