I upgraded STLINK-Utility under Windows 10 from 4.5 to 4.6. It doesn't connect to the DISCOVERY board STM32F407G-DISC1. In the settings it says: "Old ST-LINK firmware/ST-LINK already used". Everything else is greyed out.Can I download version 4.5 still somewhere?

Why the ST website is always like this since 6 years ago?? It's always a nightmare for me and my colleagues to download a simple file from the ST website. For example right now I'm struggling with downloading the STM32CubeCLT-Win and still no chance. Please do something about it, just look how many people are complaining about the website day by day.

Hello Team,We are currently attempting to perform a silent installation/uninstallation for the application “SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer_win64.exe” on our Windows 11 devices to meet business requirements. Despite trying multiple silent parameters and installation switches, the installer continue to launch in interactive mode but does not proceed silently. This installation is required to support ongoing business operations, and we would appreciate your guidance or confirmation on whether silent installation method is available for this package. Kindly advise us on the recommended approach or provide alternative solutions to help us to achieve this. Thanks

Hello,I'm in the process of moving from MP1 to MP2 on my device. The latter, used STPMIC1 that suffered the startup problem as described in AN5861 and I had to go thru a re-design to include the latching circuit on my PCBA.Can anybody confirm that this issue is gone for STPMIC25 that I will use for MP2?Thanks in advance,Daniel

I'm trying to get the Debug Authentication provisioning to work. I managed to write it from within the application, but then I found the errata sheet(es0565-stm32h562xx563xx573xx-device-errata-stmicroelectronics.pdf) which states otherwise:"Chapter 2.2.35: Debug Authentication provisioning cannot be done from the application when TZEN is disabled" I tried to do the provisioning with RSSLib->DataProvisioning(), as mentioned in the errata sheet, but I end up getting a hardfault.I'm using the nucleo-h536zi-board, trustzone is disabled.  RSSLIB_DataProvisioningConf_t a; a.pSource = sData; a.pDestination = (uint32_t *) (0x0FFD0100); a.Size = 0x60; a.DoEncryption = 0xCACA0AA0U; a.Crc = 0; uint32_t c = RSSLIB_PFUNC->NSC.DataProvisioning(&a);Since the CRC is not correct, I expect to get the CRC error instead of a hard fault. Is there something I need to set up before calling DataProvisioning? I tried to find an example, is there one somewhere?

Hi, Every time I try to connect the eval kit to the GUI I get this error:This board doesn't reply properly to connect !Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem.  I have made sure that the correct COM Port and baud rate is selected. Also, the power indicator LED is ON and the RED LED is flashing. Your help is greatly appreciated.Regards,

Hi all,I’m currently using the EVSPIN32G4 development board for a drone project. I’m controlling motor forward and reverse using ST Motor Pilot.I’ve noticed that when switching from forward to reverse, there’s a short pause before the motor starts spinning in the opposite direction. Is there a way to implement a seamless transition between forward and reverse motion so that the motor can switch direction without this stop? Thanks in advance for your guidance!

What is the sequence and APIs to erase and program the Engineering bytes? There are APIs to handle Main flash, and APIs to handle OTP, but it is not clear how the Engineering bytes should be handled. Thanks

Hello everyone,I’m working with an STM32WB55 microcontroller with BLE stack. I use also low-power modes in my app. Before entering a low-power mode, I set an RTC ALARM_A to wake the system up at a specific time. The device then enters either Sleep or STOP2 mode with the RTC enabled. However, I’m noticing an issue where, when in these low-power modes, the RTC ALARM_A does not seem to wake the device as expected. The timing appears to freeze or behave unpredictably, and the alarm sometimes triggers late or not at all. Here is the output just before entering sleep mode with the configured alarm:Current time vs Alarm RTC Settings:(PREDIV_S = maximal SubSec = 32000)| Field | Current (Cur) | Alarm (Alm) ||------------|------------|--------|| SubSec | 7234     |  6594|| Sec       | 21          | 21      || Min       | 0            | 0        || Hr

Hello @Community, I am working on the STM32F746NG board. In my application, I want to communicate with a PLC using the EtherNet/IP communication protocol to exchange real-time data. The problem I am facing is that my board does not respond to ping when FreeRTOS is enabled. Without FreeRTOS, the board is pinging correctly. Has anyone faced this issue before? If yes, please guide me on how to resolve it. Any suggestions or solutions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,i am working with the STM32F401RE board along with the IHM02A1 expansion board. I am using the X-CUBE-SPN2 package.I am working with a predefined project from X-CUBE-SPN2 and modifying it according to my requirements. I am defining all the GPIO pins, using some as input and some as output. However, I am facing a problem with GPIO pins PA13 and PA14. These pins are used for the debugger by default. I do not want to use the debugger and instead want to use these pins as input/output.I want to know how to disable the debug function for these pins and directly flash the program to the board. I have also tried using the “green icon” menu to flash, but it is not working. This is quite urgent. I would really appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue.Thank you so much in advance.

Hello, I am working on simple program to read ADC using the STM32u585QII microcontroller. I am using polling method in Scan mode on 4 channels. All set as 14 bit but understood the readin will be in 12 bit. The problem is the values I am getting are not reflecting the real value at the input. I am receiving something like  1586 cnts on 1st and 3rd channel and 2395 cnts on 2nd and 4th channel. Values make no sense assuming I have stable (verified with oscilloscope) voltage 1.61V. Vref is 2.5V external. Also when I am trying change voltage at the inputs the reading doesn't change. Can someone point me the possible issue with the configuration. /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2025 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software i

Hello,I need to communicate with a component whose configuration register expects a 9-bit value. However, my current SPI setup sends data in 8-bit chunks.In this case, what would be the correct approach? Should I send two bytes back-to-back? Or would it be better to make this configurable in main.c so that the behavior can be adjusted easily?If you were in my place, how would you handle this?   static void MX_SPI3_Init(uint32_t bit_size) { /* USER CODE BEGIN SPI3_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END SPI3_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE BEGIN SPI3_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END SPI3_Init 1 */ /* SPI3 parameter configuration*/ hspi3.Instance = SPI3; hspi3.Init.Mode = SPI_MODE_MASTER; hspi3.Init.Direction = SPI_DIRECTION_2LINES; hspi3.Init.DataSize = bit_size; // <-- here hspi3.Init.CLKPolarity = SPI_POLARITY_LOW; hspi3.Init.CLKPhase = SPI_PHASE_1EDGE; hspi3.Init.NSS = SPI_NSS_SOFT; hspi3.Init.BaudRatePrescaler = SPI_BAUDRATEPRESCALER_8; hspi3.Init.FirstBit = SPI_FIRSTBIT_MSB

Hello,I have a NUCLEO-L476RG and after update the firmware of the ST-Link V2.1 embedded on the board, stops to communicate. I want to know if it's possible to downgrade this firmware. If yes, how can i do the downgrade? Thanks!!!

When the MCU is placed in Standby Mode, where does the CPU begin to execute when exiting the mode? (for example, on an RTC event)  Is it a reset or a return from interrupt?  RM0394 isn't clear on this.

Hello,I am currently trying to modify the schematic of the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 to support the connection of any commercial NFC antenna. From my understanding, I need to add a standard RF connector (SMA/U.FL/IPEX, etc.). Since commercial antennas are typically designed with a 50-ohm impedance, I believe the matching network may need to be redesigned as well. However, I am new to PCB and RF design, so I am not very experienced yet.I would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice on the basic steps to achieve this. If there are any relevant reference documents or application notes, I would be very thankful if you could share them.Thank you!

Hi all, I am trying to use FDCAN with Baud rate switch (500 kB / 2 MBit) activated and I want to send 64 Byte. Processor is STM32H7A3. Project was set up with CubeMX V. 6.11.1 and HAL FW_H7 V1.11.2. Clock for FDCAN is 80 MHz.   The problem is that the system only sends with 500 kB and 8 Bytes only. I am transmitting the data to my PC using a PEAK USB dongle (FDCAN capable with BRS) and in parallel check the messages on a scope.  I don't know, why it doesn't switch to 2 MBit and I only see  8 Bytes with 500 kBit on my scope and on PCAN-Explorer. Here my init and transmit code sequences: FDCAN_HandleTypeDef* phCan; phCan = &hfdcan1; phCan->Instance = FDCAN1; phCan->Init.Mode = FDCAN_MODE_NORMAL; phCan->Init.FrameFormat = FDCAN_FRAME_FD_BRS; phCan->Init.AutoRetransmission = ENABLE; phCan->Init.TransmitPause = DISABLE; phCan->Init.NominalPrescaler = 10; phCan->Init.NominalSyncJumpWidth = 1; phCan->Init.NominalTimeSeg1 = 11; phCan->Init.No

Hi，I would like to in-live upgrade firmware of STM32F407 through USART1, that means  in-application program(IAP) . If I remember right, there need a trigger signal from key meanwhile NRST is low.My question is that the Key signal could be connected to any GPIO I/O of STM32F407 except those dedicated pin, right?  Is there special point to care about selection of  Key I/O pin? Thanks in advance!Best regards!Jason

What is the difference between STM32F411VEH6U and STM32F411VEH6? What does the suffix U mean?

Hi,We have a STM32H7B3 which uses TouchGFX (4.25.0) for GUI with external flash for storing images, texts, fonts etc. The storing and reding of images, text, fonts from external flash works fine for us in our current product. In a new design we want the code generated by TouchGFX to also be stored on external flash and be XIP from external flash. How can I make TocuhGFX map the code that it generates to external flash. There is a lot of code that gets generated and manually using the __attribute__((section("ExtFlashSection"))) for each function is not possible. Please help how this can be achieved with TouchGFX software.Regards,Devanshu Agarwal

Hi, I use VS Studio Code for programming my STM32, but i have a problem for uploading firmware. I use STM32Cube add-on but can't communicate with my ST-Link. When I use the same code with STM32 Cube IDE (STM32 Cube programmer), the firmware can upload without problem. After compile, the windows open for choosing a program to open my .elf file. No error on compile, just my firmware file open in terminal. Thanks for help.

I'm developing a Sigfox product using the STM32wlxx series. For testing purposes, I'm trying to provision Sigfox using the STM32 programmer, but I can't log in using the link https://my.st.com/cas/login?service=https://my.st.com/sfxp.

Dear,I am writing to inquire about the inclusion of a validity period in the debug authentication certificates used with the STM32H7S3 microcontroller. My project requires that the debug access certificates I provision have a limited, defined lifespan to align with security policies. I am currently using the latest versions of STM32TrustedPackageCreator (v2.20.0) and PSA_ADAC (v0.2.0) to generate these certificates.I have reviewed the documentation for both tools and have not found a user-configurable option to specify a notAfter (as is available for X.509) or expiration date for the generated ADAC certificates.Could someone please clarify the following:Is it possible to generate ARM ADAC certificates with a defined validity period using any publicly available tools? If not, is there a different process, tool, or service that would allow me to create such certificates? Are the certificates generated by the public tools created with a fixed, pre-defined validity pe

Hi everyone!I'm having trouble in measuring the VBAT through ADC. I'm using 3.3V on aNUCLEO_476 board to connect to VBAT and when I measure VBAT through ADC,I cannot obtain the value of the VBATHere's my code:void MX_ADC1_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN ADC1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END ADC1_Init 0 */ ADC_MultiModeTypeDef multimode = {0}; ADC_ChannelConfTypeDef sConfig = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN ADC1_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END ADC1_Init 1 */ /** Common config */ hadc1.Instance = ADC1; hadc1.Init.ClockPrescaler = ADC_CLOCK_ASYNC_DIV1; hadc1.Init.Resolution = ADC_RESOLUTION_12B; hadc1.Init.DataAlign = ADC_DATAALIGN_RIGHT; hadc1.Init.ScanConvMode = ADC_SCAN_ENABLE; hadc1.Init.EOCSelection = ADC_EOC_SINGLE_CONV; hadc1.Init.LowPowerAutoWait = DISABLE; hadc1.Init.ContinuousConvMode = ENABLE; hadc1.Init.NbrOfConversion = 7; hadc1.Init.DiscontinuousConvMode = DISABLE; hadc1.Init.ExternalTrigConv = ADC_SOFTWARE_START; hadc1.Init.ExternalTrigConvEdge = ADC_EXTERNALTRI

Hello,  I am working on implementing the CR95HF RFID reader into a project, and I'm having some trouble with the external crystal starting; I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.  On my design I have the CR95HF connected to an NRF52840 MCU through UART. When I send the ECHO command (0x55) over the UART bus, I do not get any response from the chip. I have verified the following: The chip is properly receiving 3.3V at all of its power supply pins. The SSI_0 and SSI_1 pins are properly tied to ground to select UART communication Baudrate for UART is set to 57600, the default for this chip I pulse the UART_RX/IRQ_IN pin low for ~150us on startup to properly select the protocol On an oscilloscope, I can see that the XOUT pin that goes to the crystal rises to just above 0.5V on powerup, but the crystal never begins oscillation (see attached image). I am using the XRCGB27M120F3M00R0 from Murata, which is 27.12MHz with ~150 ohm ESR and 6pF load capacitance. I will pr
