Posted on August 16, 2013 at 14:59Hi all Are there any instructions to calculate multilayer coil's like this: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/FM116/SC1444/PF251920?s_searchtype=keyword. I would like to do the same but with 4 Layers. Thank's for any response. #antenna-design #4-layers #simulation-software #multilayer-coil #m24sr

Posted on March 03, 2014 at 16:12Dear everybodyI have read about ''Using the same antenna for M24LRXXE-R and M24SRXX-Y'' in document AN4409. It describes in table 2.''Tuning parameters for M24LRXXE-R and M24SRXX-R'', that the tuning frequency of an M24SRXX is 14MHz-14.4MHz. But fc in datenblatt (page75) is only 13.55Mhz - 13.56Mhz.With which frequency can I design the antenna for the M24SR? Do you have any notes for the calculating the antenna for the M24SR? I only find the documents for the M24LRThank you and best regards #frequency-tuning #m24lr #m24sr

Posted on December 03, 2013 at 14:02Hello, Is possible to use M24LR04E for sending a NDEF message? (intended to read it from a mobile, for making pairing operations, etc..) Please, is there any example of code, about how publishing an NDEF message in the antenna, using I2C bus? If not.... please, why not? and what kind of chip could I use? Is M24SR02-Y chip the right one? I read that it is still on evaluation process... and not for sale. Thanks in advance, #m24sr #ndef #ndef #m24lr04e #m24sr02 #m24sr64 #m24lr #m24sr64 #m24sr

Posted on February 14, 2014 at 04:00It appears as though the TFT Displays VSYNC signal (pa4) is in use in RGB-mode, and as a result, I can't set it to function as AFIO DAC&sharp1 output (pa4), as it seems to cause the display to turn all white. DAC&sharp2 output (pa5) works ok, but I was hoping to get a stereo output using both DAC pins. Can the TFT be set to run in MCU-mode, or any other mode that does not require a VSYNC signal? #dac #tft #discovery-stm32f429

Posted on January 17, 2014 at 22:35With the ST & Freescale alliance and some chips being the same, I wonder if mpc563mzp66 is one of them? If it is, how would I figure out the ST part name? As far as I know it is not as as easy as just swapping the leading M with an S.

Posted on January 23, 2014 at 16:29Hi,I wish to know please if using this memory is there any way to access, via RF, the information that I stored via I2C. Or is the information separated, via I2C (2048 bytes) and via RF (512 blocks of 32 bits) , with no possible interaction between them?In alternative, to access the entire memory information, by using one or the other interface, should I use instead the M24SR16-Y version?Thank you very much.Regards #i2c-access #m24lr16e-r-dual-eeprom #m24lr16e

Posted on January 23, 2014 at 16:48Hello to all,I have a question about the WIP/ RF BUSY pin operations. In my application I set such pin to indicate a write in progress (namely the WIP function). The datasheet states that this pin remains low until the RF write process is completed. Next, it comes back to high-z status. Now I'm a bit confused regarding the definition of a ''complete write process''. In fact, I expect that the pin is tied low at the beginning of the write, it remains low during the writing of a number n of bytes and finally it return back to high-z status at the end of the process. The attached file is the screenshot of the WIP/RF BUSY signal obtained during the writing of a small NDEF message (a total of 30 bytes). The screnshot shows that the pin is tied low and return high several times before completing the write process. Can someone accurately explain how does the WIP/ RF BUSY pin work? RegardsD.Porcarelli #rf-wip-busy #m24lr16e #m24lr16e #m24lr16e #rf-wip-busy

Posted on December 23, 2013 at 13:06I have managed to do what I want with this board using the DLL, however I want to expand my use of the board to other operating systems such as Linux and OSX (for Mac) and these do not use DLLs. Is there any way to communicate with the board using something other than the downloadable DLL? I have looked through the documentation, but I do not understand really from that how to access the board if it is outlined in there, so I would need some extra help. My email address if you need is turmunder AT gmail DOT com. Alternatively, if it is possible to make the source code for the DLL itself available, then I could try reverse engineering that to do what I want. #cr95hf-osx-linux-arm

Posted on December 14, 2013 at 12:13Hello, I have M24LR Discovery Kit.The present NFC & Data-logger android application works with NFC enable phones application. We are trying to write our own android application for CR95HF demo board for Friendly ARM board. The Friendly ARM have Three USB host. When I connect the CR95HF Demo board to USB Host, The system detects the CR95HF Board ( Friendly ARM USB controller shows STM32xxxxx). I already develop android layout only in friendly ARM to display temperature and Messages which is in the M24LR memory. I want to know how i can procedd further to develop the working application. Is CR95HF dll file helps . We check the available codes for PC Software, NFC & Datalogger application. #software #raspberry-pi #cr95hf

Posted on November 25, 2013 at 20:06I've tried a number of ways to get M24LR tags recognised by a Windows Phone 8 device (Lumia 920) - but to no avail.  WP8 is supposed to recognise NDEF formatted tags but doesn't.  I've tried formatting with the STM NDEF tool and using a borrowed Android phone to use the suggested app - the tags are recognised in Android and yet not in WP8. Any suggestions?    Is there something low level I need to set or program apart from just telling the STM software to format and encode (in my case a simple plain-text) an NDEF?    Or is there some manufacturer ID/protocol setting in addition to the format as NDEF that I need to make sure is set to get compatibility?    WP8 will not permit low level format but will allow write/read with other brands of ''compatible'' NDEF tags... Any advice greatly appreciated - love the energy harvesting feature which is why I want to use STM M24LR tags ra

Posted on November 24, 2013 at 18:19I use the CR95HF chip for reading and writing data in the NFC forumtag Type 2 Tag (NTAG203F). I can read the data, but can not write data to Tag, although NTAG203F is writable. When I send a command to write data, the response I get from the CR95HF is 0x90 0x50 0x80 0x01 0x22 0x00 0x00. In dataseet for CR95HF(Doc ID 018669 Rev 2) I can not understand what does mean  Result code 0x90? Please, could you explain me response from CR95HF. Best regards, Nenad #cr95hf

Posted on October 31, 2013 at 12:20Hello, i have a question. Bulding CAN code based on example for SPC56ELx produce this error:build/obj/can.o: In function `canStart': can.c:(.text_vle.canStart+0x2c): undefined reference to `osalThreadSleepS' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [build/out.elf] Error 1 CAN configuration it is same that example. But i have added Chibios. I have replaced osalThreadSleepS(1) with osalThreadSleepSeconds(1) in :C:\SPC5Studio\eclipse\plugins\org.chibios.spc5.components.spc5hal_1.0.0.201310031641\component\lib\src But it seem  not correct. Why compiler don't find function osalThreadSleepS?  there are conflicts with Chibios? #osalthreadsleeps #can

Posted on October 18, 2013 at 11:58Hi to all,I'm using a self-made eval board based on the M24LR16E-R dual EEPROM chip. It is very simple as it consists of the EEPROM chip, filter capacitors, pull-up resistors and, obviously the antenna.RF signal is received by the same 15x15mm double layer antenna used in ANT7-M24LR16E.As the energy harvester is disabled by default, I tried to enable it by writing the config byte using I2C interface. More precisely:_ I set bit E2 =1 and bit RW = 0 in the device select code_ I set the bit EH_mode = 0 in the Config byte at address 2320hThe I2C communication happens as follow:START -> DEV.SELECT -> ADDR MSB -> ADDR LSB -> CONF.BYTE -> STOPAll the byte sent (address and data) have been acknowledged correctly, but the energy harvester results still disabled.Any help?Kind regardsD.PorcarelliP.S: as RF transmitter I'm using the transnmitter in the M24LR discovery kit. The attached file is a screenshot of the SDA and SCL signals #m24lr16e

Posted on August 14, 2013 at 22:24Hello all, I have been trying the M24LR-discovery board.  Without applying an external 3V3 supply to the board, the operational range appears to be only about 1.5cm (less than one inch).  There is an antenna design guide in the technical literature that indicates that for the 20mmx40mm antenna, range should be 25cm (unless the graph is wrong and this should be millimeters, but that seems unlikely as the worst antenna would have a 1mm range which is unreasonable). I cannot find any indication in the technical literature that the range will be dependent on whether the dual port memory is providing power to the whole board through its energy harvesting output.  If anyone can provide an answer to me regarding whether or not the range is dependent on the energy harvesting output load, it will be appreciated. Thanks a lot, Mark  #ant2 #m24lr-range-improve-power-tag #devkit-m24lr-a #devkit-m24lr-a #m24lr-discovery

Posted on September 25, 2013 at 16:57occasionally when I send a  CR95HFDll_SendReceive command, I get error code 4 back. 5 I understand - the USB is not connected, so I simply reconnect, but 4 is a communication error. How can I recover from this in my program? (it does not matter whether a tag is there or now) as currently the only way I can do it is by resetting the computer or running the ST M24LRxx application. #cr95hf #select-protocol

Posted on September 04, 2013 at 11:55Hi there, I am using a CR95HF board from a M24LR discovery kit to read data from a device. If I use the dual-interface EEPROM software from the ST website, select Reader Application and select M24LR64A, then click Read, or alternatively, 'show RF file transfer tools' and then save EEProm into a file' it does what I want, however I want to be able to include this functionality into my own software.I have not programmed a hardware unit like this before, so am just getting used to it. I have constructed a small simple VB.net application based on the downloadable code examples, however there are some issues:[code]Public Declare Ansi Function CR95HFDll_Echo Lib ''CR95HF.dll'' (ByVal mystring As String) As Long    Public Declare Function CR95HFDll_Idn Lib ''CR95HF.dll'' (ByVal mystring As String) As Long    Public Declare Function CR95HFDll_Select Lib ''CR95HF.dll'' (ByVal mycmdstring As String, ByVal mystring As String) As Long

Posted on August 20, 2013 at 11:49 Hello, I'm using an RFID reader (Feig LRM1002) with 2 different version of the M24LRXX chip : - M24LR04E (ANT3-M24LR04E) - M24LR16E (ANT1-M24LR16E and ANT2-M24LR16E) A problem appear when I scan my tag : When I send an ''Inventory'' command there are no problems, I can see both versions of the chip. The problem appear when I send a ''Read or Write Multiple Blocks'' command. With the M24LR16E I have an error message : ''No Transponder In Reader Field'' (it works well with the M24LR04E). I tried the ''Extended Adress Mode'' but it didn't change anything. Do you know what the problem could be ? For information I use the demo software provided by the reader manufacturer (Feig ISOStart).
