Posted on February 12, 2015 at 15:09I am currently working on a BLDC control application using SPC560P40 (Pictus) microcontroller and making use of the CTU (Cross-Triggering-Unit) to trigger ADC channels related to BEMF reading in closed loop control. The conversion for the ADC channel configured in CTU mode works fine, however  while CTU is active (CTUEN=1) I cannot start a normal conversion for any other channel which is configured in NORMAL mode. Is this a limitation of the PICTUS? The user manual is not very clear here... Thanks for advice, Benone #spc56 #adc #bldc #ctu

Posted on February 03, 2015 at 16:11 Hello, I would like to use DMA to control the states of some GPIOs. The software should write the entries of an array to the PGPDO[0]register. For that case, I wrote a small demo program. The outputArray isuint16_t and contains 256 elements.Each element stands for a state of 8 GPIO pins. The software should write these elements circular to the PGPDO[0] register, but it doesn´t work. The configuration looks like that: edmaChannelStart(0); edmaTCDSetWord0(edmaGetTCD(0),&outputArray); edmaTCDSetWord1(edmaGetTCD(0),1,1,2); edmaTCDSetWord2(edmaGetTCD(0),512); edmaTCDSetWord3(edmaGetTCD(0),-512); edmaTCDSetWord4(edmaGetTCD(0),&SIUL.PGPDO[0].R); edmaTCDSetWord5Linked(edmaGetTCD(0),0,0xFF,1); edmaTCDSetWord6(edmaGetTCD(0),0); edmaTCDSetWord7Linked(edmaGetTCD(0),0,0xFF,EDMA_TCD_MODE_START); Can anybody tell me what I have to change in my configuration when I want the DMA transfer to run continuously as fast as possible? Posted on January 16, 2015 at 10:09 Hello, I have some problems using the PWM sample project together with the SPC56xL Discovery board. The project generates different PWM signals on the PWMA pin of submodule0. I was able to adapt the PWM configuration to generate the same signal on PWMB pin of submodule0. But now, I also wanted to generate PWM signals with submodule1 of FLEXPWM1. Therfore, I configured thetwo additional controller pinsusing thepin wizard and adapted the sample code like this: pwmStart(&PWMD1, &pwm_config_pwmcfg); pwmStart(&PWMD2, &pwm_config_pwmcfg); osalThreadSleepMilliseconds(2000); /* * Starts the PWM channel 0 using 75% duty cycle. */ pwmEnableChannel(&PWMD1, 0, PWM_PERCENTAGE_TO_WIDTH(&PWMD1, 7500)); pwmEnableChannel(&PWMD1, 1, PWM_PERCENTAGE_TO_WIDTH(&PWMD1, 7500)); pwmEnableChannel(&PWMD2, 0, PWM_PERCENTAGE_TO_WIDTH(&PWMD2, 7500)); pwmEnableChannel(&PWMD2, 1, PWM_PERCENTAGE_TO_WIDTH(&PWMD2,

Posted on October 06, 2014 at 17:34Hello,I'm having trouble writing an NDEF message to the M24SR (with 8KB EEPROM) via i2c.I am able to correctly write an NDEF Text Message via the official M24SR Android app.I am able to correctly read the NDEF File via i2c.However, when I try to write ''hello world'' via i2c to the NDEF file, the M24SR Android app reads an empty NDEF.Here is the i2c sequence of what I've tried:            (kill RF)AC 52            (select NFC)AC 02 00 A4 00 0C 02 E1 03 D2 AF            (5 reply bytes read)02 90 00 F1 09            (select CC)AC 03 00 A4 00 0C 02 E1 03 D2 AF            (5 reply bytes read)03 90 00 2D 53            (read CC

Posted on January 23, 2014 at 15:38Hello Everyone,I have the same request than ramirez_prieto.valen, I'm looking for an I2C routine in order to write an NDEF message in a M24LR04 tag, but I haven't foud anything about that. Obviously the AN3408 is important for understand NDEF MESSAGE structure, however It's would be very interesting to have an I2C routine. I've tried to write this routine but It seems to be wrong and since 3 days I have tried to debug it. I don't know  for example if the CC field his automatically set or if it's defined by the user, furthermore I don't know how to manage user memory area when there is already a previous NDEF message. there are not informations concerning these issues.An example would be very nice #nfc-phone-support #ndef #m24lr

Posted on October 09, 2014 at 21:29I am trying to maximize the number of unique 16-bit PWM outputs that I can use simultaneously on the SPC560P40L1CEFAR (64 pins).  I have gathered the following information from the specification, and some of it appears to be conflicting.1 Flex PWM unit8 complementary or independent channels4 PWM submodulesPWMX pin can optionally output a third PWM signal from each submoduleI count 10 PWM output channels though:    A0, A1 A2, B0, B1, B2, B3, X0, X1, X2;    B2 and X2 are both only available on pin 52Which output channels correspond to which submodules?  And which channels cannot produce unique PWM signals?I also noticed a paradox on page 24 of the SPC560P (34L and 40L) specification.  On the same page it says:    Channels not used for PWM generation can be used for input capture functions.A few lines down it then says:    Capture capability for PWMA, PWMB, an

Posted on October 16, 2014 at 12:24Hello, I have some problems understanding and using the UART HAL component.   The test application for the SPC560D sends ''Hello World'' with the chnWriteTimout() function. To send the value 0x55, I wrotechnWriteTimeout(&SD1, (uint8_t *) 0x55, 2, TIME_INFINITE);But this did not work. I doesn´t matter which value I tried to send, I am always receiving a different value. Only when I am sending characters, the received data equals the sended data. What is wrong with my command? My second question is: is it possible to write my own UART driver? The driver from the library is too complex for my application. I just want to periodically send data triggered by a timer interrupt and to work with the UART interrupt if I receive data. Therefore, I started to write my own driver. So I deactivated SERIAL in the configuration, but I am not able to configure LinFlex. Setting LinFlex to initialization mode by setting   LINFLEX_0.LINCR1.B.I

Posted on September 23, 2014 at 15:46I am using UDE 4.2.05 with the SPC560B-DIS (which has UDE debug hardware built in) I can load and run code via JTAG but ... How do I access the serial port connection to the target device ??? The target microcontroller UART is connected to the FTDI USB/serial/JTAG device but I do not see a COM port show up on the PC for the target USB/serial connection. Should this show up as a COM port or perhaps in a UDE window ??

Posted on August 27, 2014 at 11:25Hello, I tried to use the FMPLL as system clock, but I get a behaviour which I did not expect. As software basis, I used the test application for the SPC56xL discovery board. When I understand the clock configuration in the right way, this project runs with the 16MHz internal RC. I found the configuration in the file hal_lld.h, all modes are using the internal RC for example here:/** * @brief DRUN mode settings. */ #if !defined(SPC5_ME_DRUN_MC_BITS) || defined(__DOXYGEN__) #define SPC5_ME_DRUN_MC_BITS (SPC5_ME_MC_SYSCLK_IRC | \ SPC5_ME_MC_IRCON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_XOSC0ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_PLL0ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_PLL1ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_FLAON_NORMAL | \ SPC5_ME_MC_MVRON) #endif /** * @brief RUN0 mode settings. */ #if !defined(SPC5_ME_RUN0_MC_BITS) || defined(__DOXYGEN__) #define SPC5_ME_RUN0_MC_BITS (SPC5_ME_MC_SYSCLK_IRC | \ SPC5_ME_MC_IRCON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_XOSC0ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_PLL0ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_PLL1ON | \ SPC5_ME_MC_FLAON_NORMAL | \

Posted on July 01, 2013 at 12:10Hej! I just bought a DEMO-CR95HF board to sort out EMI problems that I have with my own design with the CR95HF chip. To my disappointment the DEMO board generates more harmonics than my own design. My measurements can be found at http://milvus.nothagen.se/pub/strfid/rfid.htm Also, when I checked the resonance frequency of the antenna I found that it was tuned to 15.2MHz and not 13.56. The resonance frequency was measured using a spectrum analyser with tracking output. Therefore I wonder: Is DEMO-CR95HF designed for optimal performance? Is there any known optimization can can be done to the board to improve performance? I was planning to use the layout for the circuit between the chip and the antenna. As a consequence of my measurement above I really wonder if you would recommend that? I have also looked at the layout of PLUG-CR95HF-B which is slightly different. Is that layout better? Posted on July 09, 2014 at 20:43I want to work with the RF transceiver Demonstration Board code and I have found it at this link:http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF257512 However, as far as I can tell, there is only a version of the project built in Keil, which I do not have and am not familiar with. Is there a version out there for the IAR Embedded Workbench IDE as well as there is for many of the other ST demo board example projects? Posted on July 02, 2014 at 16:29Hello I want to build a reader to communicate with ISO14443A and ISO15693 tags using the CR95HF transceiver IC. I build a 2 turn PCB antenna and calculated the matching of the PCB antenna according to AN4327 and the excel tool. With VPS_TX = 3,3V I get performance equal to the PLUG_CR95HF demo board. I tried also to match the antenna for VPS_TX = 5V (assuming better read range) and with this setup it is possible to power tags over a greater distance but I cannot communicate (receive) with the tags. I get little improvement by tweaking the Timer Window and Receiver Gain (5.8.1 and 5.8.2 CR95HF datasheet). But the only way to determine these values I found was try and see. So my question is how to measure or determine the right values for these parameters. With best regards Marco #cr95hf #cr95hf #5v

Posted on June 19, 2014 at 15:01Hi,I have two applications one for the Calibration of CR95HF and one for Tag detection. Before running the Tag detection application Calibration is done and the DAC ref value obtained is saved in a file. The Tag detection application uses the DAC ref value and puts the CR95HF device into IDLE mode with the wakeup event configured as Tag Detection. When a TAG is placed in the proximity area, device wakes up and the application reads the UID. Most of the time everything is working fine. But sometimes, the device is not waking up from IDLE mode, even if TAG is placed in the vicinity area. It may work after some time after some board resets and all. I couldnt find the issue as its not coming regularly. But the issue is a repeating one. One thing I observed is I am getting different DAC Ref value for the same board with antenna connected and without antenna connected. say 0x03 and 0x07. What is the part that antenna does during the calibration procedure

Posted on July 27, 2014 at 10:01Hello, This question is propably really basic, but I hope to get any advice, a link to a tutorial or even a sample code which helps me to solve my problem. I am really new in this buisness. The possibilities of the SPC56 controller familiy are huge but as a beginner their complexity confuses me. My setting is a SPC56xL Discovery Kit and the SPC5 Studio in combination with the High Tec C compiler. What I want to do is normally very simple. One of the LEDs (e.g. LED D5 on Pin A0) should be controlled by the button S2 on Pin G8. Therefore, my idea was to use an interrupt triggered by the button S2. I set up a small project, using the OSAL-HAL component. But I really have no idea how and where i should implement this functionality in my C code. All what I have done so far is configuring an interrupt vector, but I am even not sure if i did this in the correct way. The main questions for me are: -) What is the correct way to configure an interrupt vector? -)

Posted on April 08, 2014 at 15:49Hello everybody, I have my M24SR working with my MCU :) I can read the contents of the tag. However, after a read from MCU, I cannot write the tag if I do not remove power from it. I have performed the DESELECT command and also DE_INIT my I2C. All the communication procedure takes place perfectly. The tag is connected to MCU by means of the two I2C wires, one VCC and one GND. I do not have GPO since to save one pin I work by polling. Have a nice day and let me know your opinions about this subject! :) #m24sr #deselect #m24sr #m24sr #nack #m24sr #gpo #ack

Posted on May 30, 2014 at 15:33Hi Guys,We are trying to build a multi-disapline access control reader terminal. The CR95HF was chosen for the design. The reader is not an OEM reader and is required to read a number of cards from Various Suppliers.We have opted to run the RF Supply from 5V in the hope. We used the spreadsheet ''CR95HF EMI Filter Calculation.xls'' for the front end matching calculation and component selection. When compared against other designs we have done, we are experiencing quite poor range with a range of Mifare tags. Our antenna design is approx 70mm x 70mm (2 turns)We matched 2 designs, one with an emi filter and one without. Both failed CE compliance testing even though they were well matched. The one without failed badly. The one with emi filter failed on harmonics 13 and 15. We stopped design at that point and worked on another design but we are picking it up again to try and finish the design. Have you firstly got any advice on how to improve the r

Posted on July 15, 2014 at 21:38I have a project that requires an IO pin to switch between High Z (Tri-State) and High.
