Posted on October 25, 2017 at 23:12Folks -Just updated to STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.10.0 and STM32CubeMX v4.23.  I can see the B-L475E-IOT01 discovery board and all its' files in the L4 package. I can also select the STM32L475VGTx MCU from the STM32CubeMX but can NOT see the discovery board.  (Would really like to have all the pins pre-configured!)  Am I missing something?cheers,-jim r

Posted on March 06, 2018 at 17:23Hi all,I'm developing an application (PROJECT) for a STM8S208RB (128k flash) that was using around 100kB of flash. Now I have added a new library (LIBRARY) that has increased memory usage to 120kB of flash.Now, when I delete some code in my application I get the following error:&sharperror clnk PROJECT_release\PROJECT.lkf:152 PROJECT_release\library_api.o: section boundary crossing (.text:095c) f_LIBRARY_SetListCallback The command: 'clnk -l'C:\Program Files (x86)\COSMIC\FSE_Compilers\Lib' -o PROJECT_release\project.sm8 -mPROJECT_release\PROJECT.map PROJECT_release\PROJECT.lkf' has failed, the returned value is: 1exit code=1.(I get this error after commenting an if-else related with the library)(LIBRARY_SetListCallback is a function related with the library, but it doesn't have any relation with the if-else)I'm using the following compiler options: Long Stack (+modsl)Minimize code size (+compact)Enforce Prototyping Functions (-pp)Allow Po

Posted on October 28, 2017 at 21:35I'm trying to compile a project generated using STM32CubeMX for MDK-ARM but the compiler gives the following error: port.c(483): error: A1586E: Bad operand types (UnDefOT, Constant) for operator (everytime I enable the 'FreeRTOS' option in CubeMX. Initially, and after generating the code from CubeMX, everything compiles without an issue, but as soon as I start to add some source files to the project, the compiler starts to complain about that error in port.c file. Removing the newly added sources with their include paths doesn't help solve the issue. It's just like if something corrupts the FreeRTOS port sources and it won't go away until I disable the 'FreeRTOS' option then re-enable it and generate the code again. Upgrading to the latest STM32CubeMx with the latest firmware packages for my device did not help, as well! #configmax_syscall_interrupt_priority #stm32f4-freertos-port.c(483):-error:-a1586e:-bad-operan

Posted on April 27, 2017 at 06:18Hi all,I met a strange problem that if I input something via a terminal before I call HAL_UART_Receive(); It will always timeout. And it will not recover until I reboot the board.My code is as bellow.  What can I do to reset the status? Or enable the interrupt again?while (1) { sprintf(aTxBuffer,'\r\nSTM32CubeMX rocks %d times \t', ++nbtime); HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t *) aTxBuffer, strlen(aTxBuffer), 5000);uart_rst = HAL_UART_Receive(&huart2,(uint8_t *) aRxBuffer, 2, 2000);if(uart_rst==HAL_OK) { HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t *) str_ack, strlen(str_ack), 5000); } else if(uart_rst==HAL_TIMEOUT) { HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t *) str_to, strlen(str_to), 5000); } else { HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t *) str_err, strlen(str_err), 5000); } HAL_Delay(2000); /* USER CODE END WHILE *//* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */} /* USER CODE END 3 */}#uart

Posted on March 07, 2018 at 14:38 Hello, I'm currently designing a custom bootloader and get stuck during the 'Jump to App' function. I was recognizing, that there are a lot of community entries concerning that topic. I was reading and trying various topics, but unfortunately nothing really worked for me. Maybe anyone of you can give me the golden hint? I'm using System Workbench for STM32 and want to implement my code on the STM32L431 device. In the *.ld file of the bootloader I added regions FLASH2 and MAGIC: /* Specify the memory areas */ /* Attention: Different sizes for different types of the controller (flash size!) */ MEMORY { RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 64K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8000000, LENGTH = 26K FLASH2 (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8006800, LENGTH = 254K - 26K -2K MAGIC (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x803F800, LENGTH = 2K }?????????????????? FLASH2 will hold the app, MAGIC holds some bootloader specific data. After readingAN3965 (esp. page 11), I cha

Posted on February 24, 2018 at 20:30Hello,I've been working with the ST25RU3993  on a user board design and have not yet been successful in getting the PLL to lock.  I've tried to set the VCO range both manually and with the auto command.  I've tried a variety of combinations of carrier frequency/base frequency/reference frequency settings.  In trying to troubleshoot the problem I've noticed that I only get a voltage waveform on VDD_B with the default PLL settings and a reference frequency of 100kHz.  Attempts to calculate the N divider and change the settings in registers 17, 18, 19 result in reading of zero on VDD_B.  In all testing so far I have only seen a few millivolts on VDD_A, however I understand that could be just because the PLL has not locked yet.  Can anyone tell me what I should expect to see on VDD_B as I seek the correct N divider and a locked PLL?  Is it even reasonable to assume I can infer anything about the PLL

Posted on March 05, 2018 at 15:46Hi I am using Atollic studio and the STM32F769 Discovery board.I removed resistor R93 and fitted a 0R link to R92 so that the SWO line is connected to the ST-Link on the discovery board.I have followed this tutorial to enable SWV and make use of ITM_SendChar:http://blog.atollic.com/cortex-m-debugging-printf-redirection-to-a-debugger-console-using-swv/itm-part-1 I have enabled SWV and set the core clock frequency: currently 200MHz. (I verified this by calling SystemCoreClockUpdate() and checking the value of SystemCoreClock 200000000)I have set the SWO clock to 2000kHz.Unfortunately i do no receive any characters in the SWV console window within Atollic.If i breakpoint the ITM_SendChar function i can see that its getting to the line 'ITM->PORT[0U].u8 = (uint8_t)ch;' without issue.I also just tried the 'STM32 ST-Link Utility' with SWO viewer and can see a few characters when I press start but do not see a continuous stream of characters

Posted on March 03, 2018 at 18:04 Hi, I beleive i have initialised my master STM32 correctly somehow i cant get my slave to understand my master. My problem is my slave does not seem to understand the master, i have tried various things, like using SPI2 instead of SPI1, did not work, any help would be appreciated. void init_spi_gpio(void) { GPIO_InitTypeDef SPI_GPIOStruct; RCC_AHB1PeriphClockCmd(RCC_AHB1Periph_GPIOB, ENABLE); /* * PB3 - SCK * PB4 - MISO * PB5 - MOSI * */ SPI_GPIOStruct.GPIO_Mode = GPIO_Mode_AF; SPI_GPIOStruct.GPIO_OType = GPIO_OType_OD; SPI_GPIOStruct.GPIO_Pin = GPIO_Pin_3 | GPIO_Pin_4 | GPIO_Pin_5; SPI_GPIOStruct.GPIO_PuPd = GPIO_PuPd_UP; SPI_GPIOStruct.GPIO_Speed = GPIO_Speed_100MHz; GPIO_Init(GPIOB, &SPI_GPIOStruct); GPIO_PinAFConfig(GPIOB, GPIO_PinSource3, GPIO_AF_SPI1); GPIO_PinAFConfig(GPIOB, GPIO_PinSource4, GPIO_AF_SPI1); GPIO_PinAFConfig(GPIOB, GPIO_PinSource5, GPIO_AF_SPI1); /*NSS Pin Config */ GPIO_InitTypeDef SPI_SSPIN_Struct

I have attached my ioc file.I'm generating for VisualGDB (GPDSC).Thank you,&sharpsdio&sharpfatfs&sharpf407#stm32f4 #sdio #cube32 #fatfs

Posted on August 06, 2017 at 19:22Hello!!I post an  .IOC file that  produces initialization code for Keil v5.This file produced with 4.22 version of CubeMX and uses the latest firmaware for L1 family.At module, gpio.c and especialy inside called function LL_SYSCFG_SetEXTISource(LL_AHB1_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOA, LL_SYSCFG_EXTI_LINE0); , the first parameter, LL_AHB1_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOA  is not correct.Inside the module stm32l1xx_ll_system.h,  contained the right parameters must put.This parameter has value 0x01, but the correct LL_SYSCFG_EXTI_PORTA  has value  0x00.This cause problem to set the correct source of EXTI interrupts.#ll #stm32cubemx

Posted on December 01, 2017 at 16:23Dear all,I used STM32H743 cibleIn the CubeMx, In ADC1 Configuration, i choose End of single or sequence conversion for 'End of conversion selection'Then when i generate my projet and i try to compile, i have error message : ADC_EOC_SINGLE_SEQ_CONV is undefined.In the Hal H file, just ADC_EOC_SEQ_CONV or ADC_EOC_SINGLE_CONV are present. None ADC_EOC_SINGLE_SEQ_CONVThanks for your help

Posted on November 15, 2017 at 10:57 Hi, I have ADC set like so (Code generated by CubeMX): sConfig.Channel = ADC_CHANNEL_1; sConfig.Rank = 1; sConfig.SamplingTime = ADC_SAMPLETIME_2CYCLES_5; sConfig.SingleDiff = ADC_SINGLE_ENDED; sConfig.OffsetNumber = ADC_OFFSET_NONE; sConfig.Offset = 0;???????????? However this fails in stm32l4xx_hal_adc.c file in function: HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_ADC_ConfigChannel(ADC_HandleTypeDef* hadc, ADC_ChannelConfTypeDef* sConfig)?? Specifically assert on assert_param(IS_ADC_REGULAR_RANK(sConfig->Rank));???? I assume generated code should look like this: sConfig.Rank = ADC_REGULAR_RANK_1;?? Is this correct or am i missing something about this part of code?

Posted on October 04, 2017 at 11:52Hi,Currently the defaults set for STM32F042 in STM32CubeMX v4.22.1, FW 1.9.0 for USB CDC will not compile after generation.This is because the USB CDC Rx and Tx Buffers are set to 2048B each by default, which is too much considering the micro has 6kB RAM. In previous versions this was set to the minimum 4B and caused no problems (at least for me).Can you please update the defaults to be compilable by default?Thanks P.S. It took me quite a long time to figure this out, and it was only thanks to having a project I created with cube before.#stm32cubemx #stm32f042 #usb-cdc #defaults

Posted on July 02, 2017 at 02:49I am using STM32CubeMX 4.21.0 with the STM32L4 HAL library version 1.8.1.It seems that the Src/usb_device.c includes code with customization points (e.g. HAL_PCDEx_BCD_Callback() has a user code comment block) but there are no customization points within the file at global scope for adding things like headers, variables, function declarations or definitions.  Is this an oversight?Please add customization points at global scope in this file.#stm32l4 #stm32cubemx #pcd
