Posted on May 02, 2018 at 19:18In the latest versions of IAR Embedded Workbench (8.22.X), I am no longer able to view any of the peripheral registers.  I used to do this in the 7.X.X versions using the Registers window, but now I can only find the Current CPU registers.  Does this feature still exist in the latest IAR EW, and if so how do I find it?Ricardo

Posted on April 30, 2018 at 13:32Hi guys,I'm using the  STM32L475RCT in a custom board. When using the JLink everything is working fine but when I discounnect the Jlink and power cycle the board the application doesn't work at all. Each time I have to force NRST to 0 and release it in ordre to make the application works.I have 100nF capacitor between the NRST pin and GND as recommended in ST  datasheet( 6.3.15 ).I checked the voltage on the NRST pin and it seems correct : it goes from 0.358V to 3.1V  in ~4ms at board power up which follow the required low level voltage ( VIL(NRST)  =0.3?VDDIOx = 0.984V) and high level reset voltage  ( VIH(NRST) = 0.7?VDDIOx = 2.29V).Any thoughts on where the problem might be ?#stpm32-reset #reset #stm32l4 #nrst #reset-problem

Posted on April 19, 2018 at 21:01Hi, Just started to test a prototype based in the old FENTO Reader Hardware using the AS3993, now AKA ST25RU3993.I am able to read/write registers using the SPI pins, but I cannot generate an interruption.I have been trying to execute the interruption using two methods. First Method:1 -Write 0x20 to Register 0x35 (Enable FIFO Interrupt)2 - Write 0x03 to Register 0x3D (Set 48 Bytes for Transmission)3 - Send the Comand 0x90 (Transmission with CRC)4 - Write 4 bytes to address 0x3F, 6 times (Supplying less bytes to generate an interrupt)Pin IRQ stays LOW.Second one:1 -Write 0x00 to Register 0x35 (Disable All Interrupts in this Register)2 - Write 0x40 to Register 0x36 (Enable End of Comand Interruption)3 - Send the Comand 0x87 (Start AD Conversion)Pin IRQ stays LOW.This tests are the same ones used by ST and AMS in their sample codes.I am sure the MCU pin is working correctly and detecting the rising edge in the correct pin. Tested. I am also sure that the

Posted on May 01, 2018 at 12:39Hi.I was working with my new stm8s105 MCU trying to get started with the timers. But every time I use the command to display the time on the LCD the same number showed every time.I thought that the problem is my timer code but when I just put a number on the LCD to show it just showed an irrelevant number.I use the same LCD.h on LPC1768 and STM32F2 and just converted the same header. The only difference is that I used Keil compiler for them and now I'm using IAR.lcd_gotoxy(1,2);sprintf(buf,'%d',100);lcd_print(buf);delay_ms(1000);This is a simple code that must show 100 but it displays 12594>:(The characters are displayed properly. The problem is numbers.

Posted on April 25, 2018 at 21:56Looking at the data sheet for the VL6180X (p49-50), the registers are listed with their 'offset' address.Does this mean I have to add a base address to the offset addresses? If so, where is that found in the documentation, please? And, is there a register listing that has the actual register addresses somewhere?Thank you.

Posted on April 29, 2018 at 13:55I am using the Nucleo-64 board F401RE, as the name suggest comes with STM32F401RE.The board doesn't have an external clock (X3 mentioned on the board) and still the HSE RDY register gets enabled  , which is actually hardware enabled as per datasheet.int main(void){    RCC_TypeDef *pRCC;    pRCC = RCC;    /** 1) Turn on the HSE Oscillator, by accessing the RCC clock control register (RCC_CR)        * 2) Select HSE as the system clock, by accessing the RCC clock configure register (RCC_CFGR)    */        //1) Turning on RCC_CR by enabling 16 bit.    pRCC->CR |= (1 << 16);        /** We need to wait after the HSE register is enabled for the HSE to become stable,      * This status is show by HSE RDY (Ready) register which enabled by the MCU. Posted on April 28, 2018 at 01:37 Hey everyone, I can not seem to get this right and any help would really be appreciated! I'm using a stm32f722ze I have a counter that toggles it's output on every 10th rising clock edge of an external clock that fed into its ETR pin. It also has a slave mode set as rising. Posted on April 26, 2018 at 10:57Hi everybody,I work on a B-L072Z-LRWAN1 and particularly on the AT_Slave project from I_CUBE_LRWAN. I know that this project uses LPUART via ST-LINK to send AT commands through a terminal to the Murata LoRa module, the pin related are PA2 and PA3 for Tx and Rx.What I would like to do is to switch from LPUART to USART1 (I need to do that for another project). I tried to change the code in order to replace LL_LPUART by LL_USART then I tested it and tried to send AT on USART1 through a terminal plugged to PA9 and PA10 pins (Tx and Rx for USART1) but it didn't work, the code changed is joined. So my question is, is there a way to do what I try to do ? To switch from LPUART to USART1 to send AT commands ?Thank you#lpuart #stm32l0 #usart #i-cube-lrwan #b-l072z-lrwan1 #at_slave

Posted on April 25, 2018 at 16:56I am using the simulator for converting solar cells into 5V output to a USB plug. The simulator calculates a 648uH inductor which is VERY large, expensive and hard to find. How can I use a more standard inductor, like the 10uH stated in the datasheet for this design?#spv1040 #solar

Posted on April 16, 2018 at 12:37I am using LIS2DH12 on my custom designed board for a BLE application. I noticed that the PCB had a huge current draw than expected and on further digging found the accelerometer to be drawing the excessive current while in Power Down mode. Thorough testing revealed that the SA0 line used to select I2C address was the root cause of this problem. Connecting SA0 to ground (GND) led to huge current draw. However, connecting SA0 to VDD (logic HIGH) solved the huge current draw problem. Is this behaviour expected from the accelerometer? If yes, why? If not, what could be other possible factors leading to such behaviour. Thank you.#current-consumption #i2c-address

Posted on April 25, 2018 at 03:31Quote the datasheet:'Temperature data is stored inside TEMP_OUT_L (05h), TEMP_OUT_H (06h) as two’s complement data in 12-bit format, right-justified.'So if the sensor value is reading 0 and the temperature drops by 1/8th of a degree, I would expect the value to be 0xffff or 0x0fff - that is 0bxxxx111111111111. Since 111111111111 is 12 bit two's complement for -1, and the x bits are ignored. However this is not the case. The value I actually read is 0xefff / 0b1111111011111111 / -257. The value continues to count down by 1 per 1/8 degree from here. Can anyone explain what is going on here please?

Posted on April 23, 2018 at 10:35Hi all,I am working on stm32f030c6t6 microcontroller. I want to use tim3_ch1 as pwm output. datasheet says that tim3_ch1 alternate function is available at two pins PA6 and PB4.I am not able to find that which pin default for this tim3_ch1 function and if want to remap another pin then how to do it.I have googled it. I found that in stm32f1 user manual there is a register AFIO_MAPR for remapping of pin for a alternate function. But stm32f0 documents are silent on this.so how I can do it this remapping of pin for a alternate function in stm32f0.
