I keep getting the following failures when I try to run/debug a simple blinky program on my dev board. This is a fresh install of stm32cubeide, new project started with all peripherals NOT set to default settings. Instead I just set pin N3 (GPIOA, Pin 0) to an input and then a pin toggle loop starts when that is activated. I get a "debugger connection lost". Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?Code snippet from main:while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHILE */   /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ if(HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(B_USER_GPIO_Port, B_USER_Pin) == GPIO_PIN_SET) { while(1) { HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOJ, LD_USER1_Pin); HAL_Delay(500); } } }Code snippet from MX_GPIO_Init()/*Configure GPIO pin : B_USER_Pin */ GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = B_USER_Pin; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; HAL_GPIO_Init(B_USER_GPIO_Port, &GPIO_InitStruct);Console output when I run:STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Hi,I'm trying to create a simple TouchGFX Application, that can handle hardware components, such as GPIO. Many tutorials exist but i haven't seen yet an official walkthrough from ST. Maybe, i haven't searched enough. So , is there any tutorial or documentation that explain the right procedure, even the setup for custom hardware design. Further informations : I have an STM32F429I-DISCO. I use STM32CubeIDE 1.1.0 and TouchGFX 4.13.0Thanks

We wanted to use a UART periphal in transfer DMA mode. When configuring it with CubeMX, nothing happens, event when trying it on an empty project.When manually configuring the various registers for DMA transfer between memory and the peripheral data register, the behaviour was correct, so I suspected an issue with the HAL library.I tracked the bug down to the function HAL_DMA_Init in Drivers/STM32F4xx_HAL_Driver/Src/stm32f4xx_hal_dma.c The following line (line 251) is supposed to set the config register for the appropriate DMA stream:hdma->Instance->CR = tmp;But, when step debugging, it appears to have no effect on the register (as seen on the SFRs tab), even if the tmp variable has the correct value... How could this be explained? A weird silicon bug that doesn't allow to set the register in certain state of the mcu? An error in the library?In the meantime, we can just set the DMA stream CR register from the main function.Maybe it's worth mentioning that the issue occured with t

Thank you for helping.I want to display the value detected by the sensor in View.I'm thinking of using the RTOS mail queue.Where should I describe queue reception?Thank you.

I tried to get the variable "g_counter1" in 80 micro-seconds for the STM-Studio Example project using CubeMX_ver.5.6.0 and EWARM_ver.8.42.1.But the result was not as good as the attachment below.-STM32_CubeMonitor_Result_dashboard_g_counter1.PNG-Log_myVariables_2020-04-29_14h35m16s.zip (Log_myVariables_2020-04-29_14h35m16s.stcm)In the first place, can CubeMonitor be obtained in 80 microseconds?In addition,MCU: STM32G0431KB(NUCLEO-G431KB)This setting information is the following attached file.-STM32_CubeMonitor_Setup1_Block_diagram.PNG-STM32_CubeMonitor_Setup2_Variable_AquisitionParameters.PNG-STM32_CubeMonitor_Setup3_Probe_Protocol_Frequency.PNGThe setting value of this source code is the following attached file.-STM32_CubeMonitor_SourceCode1_dataAqc.c.PNG-STM32_CubeMonitor_SourceCode2_dataAqc.h.PNGThank you for your guidance.

Hi, I have followed the AN5247 to implement OTA flow and wondering if it is possible to put different user APP in two flash address and OTA APP could decide to boot from which one. I have tried to flash P2P server_ota in 0x08007000 and HartRate_ota in 0x0802C000(also updated linker info) and update "CFG_APP_START_SECTOR_INDEX" in BLE_Ota as 0x2C to boot from the second APP. Although the HartRate function works, Cube programmer can't even connect to nucleo. It seems something strange. Also because the 2 APPs may be put at one of assigned flash address(07 or 2C), how to handle the linker setting while compile the FW?

Hello everyone, I am a beginner of STM32, how to correctly configure the initialization of STM32H743I EVAL2 touch screen in CUBEIDE, so that ToutchGFX can receive the touch signal.

Hello, I and using Touchgfx in my project. I want to implement below. 1) During run time , I want to to turn off complete screen. 2) During run time , I want to change complete screen. 3) I want to generate QR code dynamically and also want to clear it sometimes during run time. I got github link and added those files in my project. Still I am not sure how to call it. You have mentioned to call qrCode.setXY(0,0) , qrCode.setQRCode(&code), qrCode.setScale(4) , add(qrCode) methods but I am unable to find it.Can any one please help ?

The color setting of the TOUCHGFX control will retreat with one click, which is crazy. I want to manually input the color value. How do I enter it? ? ?

DISCO board for the new 'L4Pxx is out:https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/stm32l4p5g-dk.html?icmp=tt14426_gl_****_mar2020#Remarks:yet another naming scheme, with -DK suffix - bad idea, DISCO was a good keyword to search these at the distributorsno display - okay, although the price is relatively high for the displayless board (probably given by the here unnecessary V3 of STLink, with the bonus of broken 8MHz MCO) - but there's no hint of what the suggested display/board might be, entirely bad move, drowning the DISCO idea furtherSAI audio codec (footprint only), ST-MEMS digital microphone (footprint only) - cm'on, what's the point here?4-Gbyte onboard eMMC, OctoSPI DDR NOR FLASH and PSRAM, - okay, and what for, if there are no IO devices to make use of them?U-suffixed part, with no hint of explanation in the DBno UM yet, although there's a link from the DB - I hope this means ST is hastily removing the amateurish modern-feel-and-look from it, and inserting the schematics.Sorry, ST,

Hello!I try to understand how to exclude some memory from ddr for Linux, but M4 must have to access to that memory, because M4 needs to store about 40 Mb, but not RETRAM or SYSRAM doesn't allow it. So, I try to store this in ddr, but I don't want that Linux can use this memory region.I try to use reserved memory in Linux dts like that: in root node in stm32mp157a-dk1.dtsmemory@c0000000 {      reg = <0xc0000000 0x20000000>;    };      reserved-memory {      #address-cells = <1>;      #size-cells = <1>;      ranges; m4ddr: m4ddr@0xd7ffffff {          reg = <0xd7ffffff 0x4000000>;          no-map;        };...And in m4 node I added this region to memory-region:&m4_rproc {&nbsp

Hi, I need advise regarding my application. I can store historic data using Stream-to-FIFO mode based on single tap interrupt in buffer A. But, I cannot get data after the tap interrupt in buffer B when switching FIFO mode to Streaming mode. I believe I am not configuring the sensor properly to switch from one mode to another. My code is listed below. It collects and store historical data in buffer A and calculates threshold. If threshold is higher, then micro-controller is instructed to switch to the streaming mode and to store data in buffer B. This code returns watermark value 0 for the second part of the code (for buffer B part). It should be 1 for FIFO to output data.S32 get_lsm6ds3_fifo_acceleration_angular_rate_data_s16(S16 *acceleration_mg, S16 *angular_rate_mdps) { uint16_t numA = 0; uint16_t numB = 0; uint16_t num_patternA = 0; uint16_t num_patternB = 0; uint8_t watermA = 0; uint8_t watermB = 0; S32 error; volatile uint16_t acc_magn = 0;   error = lsm6ds3tr_c_fi

Hello,in AN4539, the HRTIM cookbook, on page 56 C.3, the application note AN5094 "Migrating between STM32F334/303 lines and STM32G474xx/G431xxis" is mentioned. Unfortunately, i cannot find this document. Any suggestions?Kind regards,Greg

Hi, the user manual of the ST8089FG mentions an internal antenna and splitter but the datasheet does not talk about it, and even if they were external in the ADC hardware reference design the document does not indicates the model of the splitter or the antenna and does not specify if it is a patch, chip, smd, active or passive internal antenna that must be implemented, or when should be implemented, thanks

I'm looking to use the STM32MP1 for a battery powered product.What is the recommended configuration to control external power supplies?Both in startup and shutdown.In the past I've used an external M0 as a power sequencer. Latching the power from a momentary power switch, then signalling a shutdown (via UART or I2C) and powering down once Linux has shutdown.Is there a way of doing this with just the STM32MP1?

STM32G4 CPU speed. I am migrating a project from the STM32F405RG to the STM32G473RE. System clock frequency for both is 168MHz. I have found the code runs at about half speed on the STM32G473 and I would like to know why and how to fix it.The STM32G473 flash is in dual bank mode and has data cache, instruction cache and prefetch enabled with 8 wait states. Will switching to single bank mode, increasing flash data width from 64 bit to 128 bit to match the STM32F405, restore the speed or is there more likely another cause? Will running the code in SRAM restore speed, as I would prefer to stay in dual bank mode.

Hi, I am trying to get working IWDG using HAL_IWDG library and I am not able to refresh the watchdog before IWDG_Reset. As is said in page 6: (https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/training/technical/product_training/group0/01/24/22/29/38/70/40/57/STM32WB-WDG_TIMERS-Independent-Watchdog-IWDG/files/STM32WB-WDG_TIMERS-Independent-Watchdog-IWDG.pdf/_jcr_content/translations/en.STM32WB-WDG_TIMERS-Independent-Watchdog-IWDG.pdfI must refresh watchdog when RL < WINRWatchdog timeout is set to 10s. wdgReset() is called from main loop, which I know is not consuming 10s. MCU has a reset every 10s as a consequenceIWDG_HandleTypeDef t_wdg;   void wdgInit(void){ t_wdg.Instance = IWDG; t_wdg.Init.Prescaler = IWDG_PRESCALER_256; t_wdg.Init.Reload = 1250; t_wdg.Init.Window = 1250; HAL_IWDG_Init(&t_wdg);   }   void wdgReset(void){ if(t_wdg.Instance->RLR < t_wdg.Init.Window){ HAL_IWDG_Refresh(&t_wdg); } }What I am missing?Kind Regards,Rafa

This question may applied to the whole STM family and maybe pure hardware related, but I expect someone can give some clues.May I safely assume the gpio pins are high impedance when powering on?If I set pin to output, and output a high. Then, the power supply goes down. I expect the output will track the power supply till some point, that the pin can't retain output state anymore. Am I right? If so, when the point will occur, what's the supply voltage then?Similar to above, but this time set the pin low. What's the point I can't safely assume the pin is low?Thanks.

In STM32CubeIDE I created a C++ project. But the `main.c` is still generated with the .c extension and is compiled with the C compiler. That is why I cannot include the C++ headers to `main.c` (because the C compiler does not understand the keyword `class`). Thus I cannot create in `main.c` the global instances of the C++ classes.I can tell the IDE to use the `g++` (C++) compiler for this file rather than `gcc` (C compiler). But among the language standard options still only the C options are available (e.g. "GNU11 (ISO C11 + gnu extensions) (-std=gnu11)"). The compiler will still compile the file as a C file rather than C++.On the other hand I'm afraid to rename the `main.c` to `main.cpp` because it is regenerated during the code generation (after an update to .ioc file).So how to make STM32CubeIDE to place the `main()` function to a C++ file, e.g. `main.cpp`, rather than to a C file like `main.c`?---My current idea is the following: * tell IDE to exclude the `main.c` from compilation

Hello guysI am developing my own PCB where I want to use a STM32F767 MCU. I went ahead and figure out how to load binary and all but there is one thing that confuses meso from the schematics (datasheet) my MCU has more than one VDD and VSS (ground) I am guessing that these are for different peripherals of the MCU. If not please correct me. BUT if that'ss the case, how do I figure out which VDD to wire up in order to activate appropriate block of the MCU.Do I actually need to wire up all of them correspondingly ? (with their capacitors and all) Thanks!
