Posted on March 07, 2018 at 13:01 EDIT: 14/03/2018 https://community.st.com/people/Schwaninger.Hannes‌ found that we need to use RAM_D1 and not DTCMRAM of the memory area. This is not made by default when we use STM32CubeMx to set SPI and DMA together. Hello, I am working on a full duplex SPI communication through DMA using STM32H7. So, I have bought 2 NUCLEO-H743ZI, one to be the master, the other to be the slave. I have downloaded, built and flashed SPI_FullDuplex_ComDMA example via TrueStudio. As there is no ''TrueStudio format'' example, I have generated the project with STM32CubeMx and replace Inc and Src generated files with SPI_FullDuplex_ComDMAfiles. And tadada! ... It is not working correctly....... Only a few bytes are sent and Rxbuffer is never filled. I have made connexion wires as short as possible and I have increased spi clock prescaler to get ''slow, nice and smooth'' signals. Electronic not seems to be the problem. I have modified the exampl

Help! I'm new to ST development tools. All I'm trying to do right now is generate an MC Workbench example project. Any example project.MC Workbench GENERATION always reports the following error:"The ST intranet updater server is unknown: mcucrossselector.codex.cro.st.com"Any suggestions greatly appreciated.-----Details:MotorControl Workbench 5.Y.4 (en.X-CUBE-MCSDK_5.Y.4_v5.5.4.zip)STM32CubeMX 6.4.0 (en.stm32cubemx-win_v6.4.0.zip)STM32CubeIDE 1.7.0 (st-stm32cubeide_1.7.0_10852_20210715_0634_x86_64.exe)(All downloaded and installed yesterday.)It does generate a CubeMX project, which generates a CubeIDE project, but that source code is has a massive number of undefined symbols. I have not changed any config or preferences settings. It's all "fresh out of the box", and I'm just following the provided instructions.((Context: I have 2 new B-G431B-ESC1 boards, and started out trying to build the example projects for that board. When that failed, I started trying other examples, and it looks l

Hi I am currently working on a project where I have to implement TCP/IP stack on STM32F429ZI 144 pin nucleo board. Board has PHY chip.My question is how does the MAC controller knows when a jabber or collision event occurs since these events are handled by PHY chip. PHY chip shown in schematic for nucleo board, has no connections other than RMII (like error interrupt?) to STM32 MCU.

I'm trying to get square pulses on PB8 with TIM16.1 output compare, but no pulses on pin (timer seems working: CNT counting, SR flags changing).Setup code:gpio_mode(GPIOB,8, GPIO_MO_AF); gpio_af(GPIOB,8, 2); // PB8 as AF2 rcc_apb2_on(RCC_APB2_TIM16); TIM16->CCMR1 = TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_0 | TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_1; // toggle on match TIM16->CCER = TIM_CCER_CC1E; TIM16->ARR = TIM16->CCR1 = F_CPU / EADC_MCLK / 2 - 1; TIM16->CR1 = TIM_CR1_CEN;Similar code for PA4 and TIM14.1 works as expected:gpio_mode(GPIOA,4, GPIO_MO_AF); gpio_af(GPIOA,4, 4); // PA4 as AF4 rcc_apb1_on(RCC_APB1_TIM14); TIM14->CCMR1 = TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_0 | TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_1; // toggle on match TIM14->CCER = TIM_CCER_CC1E; TIM14->ARR = TIM14->CCR1 = F_CPU / EADC_MCLK / 2 - 1; TIM14->CR1 = TIM_CR1_CEN;

Hi, I am trying to write an interrupt code to trigger LED(PB14) using user button on my NUCLEO board(PC13). however, as I observed from the debugger, pending bit for line 13 constantly at 1 without pushing the button at all.The EXTI->PR1 = 1<<13 still executed but it can't clear the pending bit.Could someone point out my problem? here is my code.Thank you./*--Header--------------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ #include <stdio.h> #include <stdint.h> #include "stm32l4r5xx.h" /*--Define--------------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ /*--Global-Variable---------------------------------------------------------------------- */ /*--Function Prototypes-------------------------------------------------------------------*/ void initPort (void); void Blink(void); /*--Main----------------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ int main() { initPort(); while(1) {   } } /

Hi. I am currently trying to implement USB headset on my old STM32F407 Discovery board.In USB descriptor I have simple topology with two input terminals, 2 out terminals and feature unit. Also I describe two streaming interfaces (IN and OUT) and one control interface.When I am connecting this device to my laptop, host correctly recognize both interfaces. I can play music from host via discovery board and I can record sound from mic, connected to my discovery board.The problem begin, when I am trying to do that simultaneously - try to record sound from mic, during host`s music is playing. When I am start recording, host`s music suddenly stops, but recording is continuing. When I stop recording, host`s music is still not playing. It seems that my device completely lost ability to play music from hots but preserves ability to record sound from discovery mic.After debugging I find out, that after that unsuccessful try of simultaneous work of both interfaces, the OUT EP interrupt is stops.

Good morning, I have developed one board with CC2640 running to 1.8V (External Regulator Mode), this board has one LIS2DH12TR with VDD & VDD_IO to 1.8V, the communication is SPI, when I read register "WHO_AM_I" (0x0F) I get 255, not matter what register, clock or pol & pha I set... I always get 255, if CS=0 then this chip works as SPI and the interface 4-wire is default, what am I making bad?I hope somebody can to help meRegards

Hello,I am looking at the LSM6DSM datasheet for power draws. Here is an exampleAccelerometer Current Consumption @ ODR=52HzVDD = 1.8 VCurrent = 25 uAPower = VDD*Current = 45 uWDoes the current required by the LSM6DSM accelerometer change if VDD is toward the upper end, say, 3.3 V? Should I expect lower, or higher, power draws? Basically fill out the following:Accelerometer Current Consumption @ ODR=52HzVDD = 3.3 VCurrent = TBD uAPower = VDD*Current = TBD uWThanks in advance!

Dear CommunityI am working on a project right now, using a STM32H725 with an external PHY (USB3300-EZK).The board is working and using FreeRTOS with CMSIS I have USB HS working.But trying to build my project on Azure with USBX, I can't get USB HS to work.Diving into the USBX libraries I noticed that:The function 'ux_device_stack_initialize' in 'ux_device_stack_initialize.c' is not using its 'device_framework_high_speed' pointer to high speed FW.Am I missing something? Or is the USBX HS implementation with EXT PHY not functional?Does anybody have a working Azure/USBX EXT PHY project with HS USB?

Hi all, I want to do some tests to simulate "low coverage" conditions How could I quickly make the equipment transmit at less power? For example in the EU868 region limit to 10dBm instead of the 14dBm that is allowed, or in US915 to 20dBmn instead of the 22dBmBest Regards, Sergio

This feels like a dumb question but I can't find the answer through Google and I've spent some time looking.I'm giving a high level presentation tomorrow and in the first slide I'm describing the difference between ST MPUs and MCUs. For the life of me I can't find what the "U" stands for, however...Can anyone help me?

I'm currently having an issue with a project that works perfectly when compiled through stm32CubeIDE vs when I go to Run target through the TouchGFX Designer.I haven't altered any of the standard settings in either piece of software and both will compile without error onto my discovery board. The specific issue is I have a freertos task that reads temperature data off of the I2C and then sends this data through the queue to be populated on one of my touchgfx views. When I compile through the designed this value does not update, when compiled in IDE this feature works as intended. Up until recently this feature worked when compiled on either piece of software, I'm still going back through my recent changes to figure out where this issue originated.Is there a significant difference in the files each use to compile? Figured out what is causing the issue. Whenever I add a widget to my custom container it breaks the temp update function when compiling with the designer. If I go back and del

Hi! I have been trying for a while now to get the STM32L432KC to transmit on a CAN bus but to no avail. I have been using a MCP2551 as tranciver and i know it works since i have gotten it to work with a STM32L476 board. The interesting part is that when i try and measure the output on P12 (D2/CAN1_TX this is on the MCU) with an oscilloscope all i get is a high signal and no message out (Have tried this with the MCP2551 connected and disconnected same result). I have run the same code (almost same) on a STM32L476 with a MCP2551 and it works. I have no idea what the problem could be. Is it something in my code that does not work? I'm using the stm32Cube IDE auto code generation. Most of the code i have written is between lines 78 - 79.Thanks in advance!/* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body *****************************************************************************

Dear all, Sorry if my english is not clear, and let me know if something is not clear.I need help...Using  an STM32L4R9i Eval and the following "modules" HW and SW : Round TFT (MB1314), touchGFX, FMC (External SRAM), DSI/MIPI (LTDC), DMA2D.I'm struggling since few days to a display issue.OK : Using the internal SRAM and all the related configuration for previous modules everything is working fine.NOK : Changing the previous configuration but using the external SRAM, available on the evaluation board (through the FMC), my picture, in that case is not correctly displayed.But I can see that the external SRAM is correctly fill, through the debugger.I guess that it should come from a synchronization between the FMC, DMA2D and the LTDC... but this is a completely new topic for me, and I'm not an expert.Does someone can help me, to know in which direction I should look for ?Let me know if you need more details, code or Thank you in advance for your help.

I've got a lot of help from people on this forum getting up to speed with STM32 controllers and the STM32 HAL libraries. Coming from the C# world, I've been kind of stubborn about trying to maintain a moderately object oriented architecture. That's been a really painful learning experience and I've got a long way to go but I've finally gotten to the point where I have something working well enough to move forward with. As an example, here's how I've combined my UARTs class with the HAL libraries and I'd value any input from this forum on how to improve it.For background, there are 2 devices right now that need a UART, GPS1 and CTD1. Eventually, I know there will be 8 UART devices and probably more in the future. I'm trying to implement a non-blocking architecture so I use the HAL_UART_Receive_IT, ...Transmit_IT, ...Receive_DMA and ...Transmit_DMA functions. There's a class for each of the devices. All that happens in those classes is they call their respective initGPS1() or initCTD1()

For example, I use 8 bit data transfer type.There are 3 types for the parity bit in totalNo parityEven parityOdd parity----------------------Even parityI'll make an assumption that Even parity looks like this:10011100The first 1 from the left is the parity bit.If the parity bit is enabled in the settings, but it does not need to be set, because the number of transmitted bits is even, should it look like this?00111100----------------------Odd parityFor Odd parity looks like this?10001100The first 1 from the left is the parity bit.If the parity bit is enabled in the settings, but it does not need to be set, because the number of transmitted bits is odd, should it look like this?00011100---------------------No parityIf No parity is enabled in the settings, is the parity bit excluded from data transmission?At first 8 bits were transmitted, but when I turn off the parity bit, will 7 bits be transmitted?Or will 8 bits be transmitted, but instead of a parity bit there will be zero?If so, is o

Hello,I purchased SPC560P50L3CEFAR from Mouser and I'm able to enable the censorship as the reference manual suggests.I'm modifying NVSCI0 and NVSCI1 registers with the value 0x55AABABA and the UDE cannot connect unless the correct password is provided. Everything's good so far.Currently there's no stock in Mouser/Digikey so I could only find more in China so I purchased some SPC560P50L3 from Aliexpress. The chip works well, I'm using it for FlexRay development and everything works. However I cannot enable the censorship on those devices that I purchased from China. Even though I'm modifying the NVSCI registers, the UDE is still able to connect and debug the MCU with an incorrect password or even no password at all.The MCU I purchased from China reads "SPC560P50L3 VG438395 992G0 VG". Might this be a clone, or from a different batch or something, or am I doing something wrong?I'm using the example code provided by NXP below.Thanks,int main(void) { HW_init(); GPIO_init(); /* Turn LE

I want to use Nucleo-G431RB and X-Nucleo-IHM08M1 3Sh to control a outer rotor BLDC with FOC. Now I am confusing how to set jumpers.In the introduction of Motor Profile:However, in the Quick Start Guide and User Manual of X-Nucleo-IHM08M1 3Sh ,the requirements are like this:On the X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 expansion board, set jumpers: J9 open,JP3 closed. For 6-step control (X-CUBE-SPN8 FW), set jumpers: JP1 and JP2 open, J5&J6on the 1-Sh side. Keep capacitor C5 mounted; in case of poor motor currentregulation during startup, reduce its value. For FOC control (STSW-STM32100 FW), set jumpers: JP1 and JP2 closed,J5&J6 on the 3-Sh side. Remove capacitors C3, C5 and C7.Which one should I follow?Thank you very much!
