Solved

Hello,I am following a course on Udemy ("Mastering Microcontroller and Embedded Driver Development" if that matters) and I try to set my Nucleo as SPI master.I set up the SPI but the NSS pin does not want to go high when I enable the peripheral.A workaround is to set a pullup on that pin but I don't like the manual idea because as I understood that should happened automatically.I don't want to bloat you with my code but if needed I can share it.In general what I do is:-Setup the USER button as input so when it is pressed to trigger the data send.-Initialize the MOSI, CLK,NSS pins at GPIO alt fun, No pull ups, push pull, speed low(tried all 4 speeds).-Initialize SPI2. BUS=Full duplex, Mode=Master, Speed (tried all), DFF=8, CHA=0,CPOL=0,SSM=0,SSOE=1.This is the lesson's code actuallyAlso other students had the same problem as I saw in comments.I hope some more experience could help!Thank you in advance

Hi, I am working with the Nucleo-F401RE board and I am trying to implement the printf function to work with UART2. I can load and run the example project, but implementing the same code does not work in a separate project.  I have had zero luck getting this work after having read and implementing everything that I can find. I have the following code in the main function taken from the example. I am missing something crucial here and could use some insight. Thanks,D /* USER CODE END PFP */#ifdef __GNUC__ /* With GCC, small printf (option LD Linker->Libraries->Small printf   set to 'Yes') calls __io_putchar() */ #define PUTCHAR_PROTOTYPE int __io_putchar(int ch)#else #define PUTCHAR_PROTOTYPE int fputc(int ch, FILE *f)#endif /* __GNUC__ *//* USER CODE BEGIN 0 */PUTCHAR_PROTOTYPE{ /* Place your implementation of fputc here */ /* e.g. write a character to the EVAL_COM1 and Loop until the end of transmission */

Hello, Is there any tip or reference code to implement WRP? I need to prevent changing original codes and adding any other codes from malicious third parties.I use stm32f303k8 and CubeIDE.I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi,I have integrated with lwIP and freeRTOS a VNC server on a STM32H757-EVAL.A VNC client works fine and I can see on it the first frame buffer drawn by the application; according to the VNC standard, the server should send a "new tile" (a square of pixel) to re-draw the frame buffer changed (if something happens and change it - i.e. slider, button clicked, etc..).Is there any function or method to understand which pixel (or pixelS) has changed (in term of X and Y coordinates) from the previous frame buffer? In this way, I can recreate a new tile and send it to the VNC client without re-send every time the whole frame buffer using less bandwidth. Thanks for your help.Regards.

I am asking this question after using the the Developer package of the STM32 Echosystem in orfer to recompile the kernel drivers of the ADC to activate the ADC, how ever i can't figure out how to modify the device tree. i was trying to get this example "3.3 How to perform multiple ADC conversions in triggered buffer mode using libiio" provided by st to work (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_use_the_IIO_user_space_interface) how ever when i reach this example to test it doesn't work since i don't have the trigger0 showing up after using the iio_info command$ iio_readdev -t trigger0 -s 8 -b 8 iio:device0 voltage0 voltage1 | hexdumpin that case my question is how to get this example working by changing the device tree and the developement echosystem's method ? this is my device tree configuration &adc { vdd-supply = <&vdd>; vdda-supply = <&vdda>; vref-supply = <&vdda>; status = "okay"; adc1: adc@0 { st,min-sample-time-nsecs = <5000>;

I have developped a graphical demo with the STM32H735 discovery kit, and the minimum frequency of the OCTOSPI to have a clean display is 66 MHz (framebuffer = 480x272x32). Now I want to use in my application an External RAM with QUADSPI (framebuffer = 640x480x16) I want to know what is the minimum frequency of QUADSPI to have the same performance?Best Regards,Saif.

Hello I'm sharan from yali mobilities. Here we are shifting from old spc5 studio to latest version spc5 studio 6.0. For testing I2C, I have used Arduino as a slave device. The programme which I have writen is attached as image. Arduino sends a inter value when an request event is occured. The programme runs in old spc5 studio, but it's not working in spc5 studio 6.0. I have used same configurations, setups and same board.I have tried I2C write function it works properly for all the devices, which I have tested. If any one knows the solution kindly reply. Thank you for reading.

I've tried to configure several security settings from C code for my STM32H7B. I used the example secure bootloader/application which I modified a bit. I was able to enable the security bit and configure a secure memory area in flash block 0. When starting the JTAG connection is lost. After the booloader part jumps to the application, the JTAG is enabled again.I can read all the option bytes as expected. The ReadOutProtection level is currently oxAA, so no protection. The security bit is set, as is a secure memory region. I would like to remove the secure region, so I tried to set the ReadOutProtection to level 0xBB. This however doesn't work. It remains at 0xAA.I've tried several things. Of course repowering it. Removing the security bit itself. Writing directly to the registers. Removing the security bit using C code from the application.I am able to update the application part in flash, so it doesn't seem to be a full write protect of the device, only the option bytes can't be writt

No example of analog M1 was found in the provided routines，Can you provide technical support for this ?

Hello there, recently i have found a error in the application note an4839.The strongly-ordered memory region in the Table 2. Memory region shareability and cache policies is remarked as non-schareable. Howerver according to ARM DUI 0646B ARM Cortex-M7 Devices Generic User Guide page 2-13 or paga 2-14 it said that the strongly ordered memory region is always shareable.best wishes J.Pan

We are trying to interface ST25R3914/5 NFC reader IC with another microcontroller through SPI communication. But while the ST NFC reader IC is not able to detect the card. Can you please tell what all steps are to be considered before interfacing NFC I

Hi,I want to set up data logging from some of the sensors (accelerometer and ultrasonic microphone) of the STEVAL-STWINKT1B to the SD card using the FP-SNS-DATALOG1.However, I also want to add more externally connected sensors to the STM32 via SPI (in particular thermocouple sensors, but the exact type doesn't matter, of course).I thus wanted to ask (1) if that is possible and (2) how simple it will be. Will I run into issues disrupting the high sampling rates for the onboard sensors?

I have some projects that were left inadvertently with some function calls that write 0x00 bytes into the data EEPROM. They work properly. I have tested it.I detected the problem on a prototype board with an old sample of STM32L152C6T6 and this made me realize the mistake.

Please assist with sharing of the schematic diagram of NUCLEO-144 STM32U575ZI EVAL BRDThanks!

I have a program that builds upon the p2p example. The scanner starts when I press a button withaci_gap_start_general_connection_establish_proc(HCI_SCAN_TYPE_ACTIVE, LE_Scan_Interval, LE_Scan_Window, PUBLIC_ADDR,0x00, 0);If the button is held for 5 seconds after that I want to stop scanningaci_gap_terminate_gap_proc(GAP_GENERAL_CONNECTION_ESTABLISHMENT_PROC)But I will never get out of this function. It stops in hci_cmd_resp_wait(HCI_TL_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT);the termination will work when it is called from a HCI_LE_ADVERTISING_REPORT_SUBEVT_CODE callback.Anyone has any clue of why this is?

Is there a guide to follow ? How is memory assigned to lwIP ? Is it running on a separate task ?I'm running a Mongoose demo which requires a big stack. I'm using the default task created by CubeIDE which just inits lwIP and goes to sleep on an infinite loop. Here I placed my app code.Setting a stack of 2048 words is not enough for this app, but if I go higher then lwIP stops working (DHCP won't start properly, my app starts after DHCP has acquired an IP). Should I use a separate task ? Why ?I'll be happy to get some pointers, though I'll dig lwipopts and the source code if necessary, I hope it is not; this is just a demo...

Hello Everyone,I need help in building the project as I am facing some issues. As we know we can't configure the STemWin from CubeMX/STM32CubeIDE and to use the STemWin library we have to add it separately in our project.I created a simple project using CubeMX/STM32CubeIDE which is auto-generated and then I took the reference from the example STemWin_HelloWorld present in the CubeF7 package.I think I did most of the steps, by comparing these two projects, but I am getting the error.../STemWin_Config/GUIConf.c:54:10: fatal error: GUI.h: No such file or directory 54 | #include "GUI.h" | ^~~~~~~ compilation terminated. But in my project this file is present and added to the project, even the path is also updated in the project settings, I don't know why I am getting this error, that this file is not present. One strange thing which I have noticed is as shown below, here in include section I can see most of the include paths related to STemWin are disabled/greyed out, I don't know what is t

Hi there!I need your help before i became crazy. I configurate (with DMA) 9 ADC input plus one for Vrefint channel of my STM32F051 discovery, Now my problem:i read a wrong value of Vrefint channel the value is equal a Ing1. But if i configure ony Vrefint channel work perfect and afther i did the math. I reconfigure again my 9 ADC input without Vrefint channel and the value are perfect just 1mV of error but right now i diden't do any average . Before i forgot i did the calibration before i start . Please some one can help me ? Thank you soo much Sergio

This bug is present in F1, F2, F4 and F7 series examples and CubeMX generated code with RTOS and is one of the biggest flaws in ST's lwIP integration.Problemhttps://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeF7/blob/3600603267ebc7da619f50542e99bbdfd7e35f4a/Projects/STM32F767ZI-Nucleo/Applications/LwIP/LwIP_HTTP_Server_Netconn_RTOS/Src/ethernetif.c#L376lwIP core (also known as the "tcpip_thread") calls low_level_output(), which calls HAL_ETH_TransmitFrame(). While the latter is processing, Ethernet input thread (ethernetif_input() function) can call low_level_input(), which calls HAL_ETH_GetReceivedFrame_IT(). Because both of those HAL functions use HAL's ingeniously stupid "lock" mechanism, HAL_ETH_GetReceivedFrame_IT() returns HAL_BUSY. Subsequently that makes low_level_input() to return NULL and ethernetif_input() to go back on waiting for a semaphore.ConsequencesReceived frames are not processed and Rx buffers are not released to DMA.When the next frames are received, code will iterate

Hi,I write the firmware using STM32L432 (NucleoL432-KC) used usart1 and usart2 with DMA RX/TX and received idle line. The usart1 and usart2 using pin of the same port (PORT-A)The problem is lost receive data if I receive data on both port at the same time. The project generates using CubeMX (attached file)The code to start receiving DMA with idle line detectvoid mb_port_start_recv(void* uart, uint8_t* buf, uint16_t buf_size) { UART_HandleTypeDef* huart = (UART_HandleTypeDef*)uart; HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA(huart, buf, buf_size); }The is no problem if run each usart at time.Anyone know what is problem?Thank you!

Hi,I'm new in SPC5 world.I would like to use SPC5-Studio to start my project on a SPC582B product and I would like to be able to debug it.I have a probe SPC5-UDESTK that I have used to flash a project compiled with SPC5-Studio.It is not clear if I need to by some licences or if I can continue with free licence.I have also read that the debug purposes of SPC5-studio is only available on STM development kits. Is-it the case ?Do I need to use PLS UDE STK tool to debug a project or, is-it possible using SPC5-studio directly ? do I need to buy a new licence in order to debug ?Thanks,Christophe
