Development environment: STM32F417ZG/keil uvision 5/FreeRTOSProblem description: During the normal working phase of my product, a global variable is suddenly found to have been modified accidentally. This variable was not modified by my normal code as there is only one place where the normal code is modified and I am sure enough it doesn't get triggered. So it could have been caused by a memory stepping, thread safety or some other exception.This is a very low probability problem, so it is difficult to reproduce the problem in keil's debug mode and use data breakpoint to locate the problematic code that modified this global variable.My question is: how can I locate which line in my project's source code caused the global variable to be modified during the normal working phase of the product.Does anyone have any good ideas on how to do this?

V3MiniE is 2mm pitch, total 10mm at outer most gold finger pcb trace.   Two rows of  5 pins 2.54mm pins is 10.16mm at centre, for top an dbottom gold finger.  It will work ok, right?  TIA

 Hello,I use the STM32H747 running at 400 MHz (M7) together with a display that has a resolution of 800x480 pixels.I have set up a project in TouchGFX Designer based on the Gauge example project.The design includes 2 gauges. The chrome ART is enabled according to the CubeMX configuration.How can I for sure say, that the DMA2D features are used? The only thing that happensin the project is that the gauge needles move based on the values of an array (the values change in each frame).The system should run at around 60 FPS, but only manages 30 Fps and therefore drops every 2nd frame (MCU is at 90% utilization).The needle images are 3x150 pixels (I'm using RGB888) and are stored in internal flash.What changes can I make to improve the performance of the two gauges?

Hello ST Team,We are observing that LEDs are minor glowing, during turn off condition due to leakage current. As per our application we are not not using any PWM configuration for LEDs. We are just making LEDs turn ON/OFF as per application requirements. Is there any register configuration available to make LEDs completely turn off?Or we can use below registers setting to make complete off? ThanksKadam

Good day, I am working on a custom BLE p2p server using the STM32_WPAN, library. I am working on the STM32WB55 chip with FreeRtos enabled. When I follow the STM32 Bluetooth tutorial on youtube, I realized that many tabs were missing on my setup. Is there a reason why I cannot get it to work like the tutorial or there's a setting I'm missing?

I'm trying to work with USB on STM32U595ZJT6Q (with SMPS)Ref Clock Selection under USB_OTG_HS is set to 16MHzOTS HS Clock Mux is set to HSE (the board has 16MHz crystal)CubeMX 6.11STM32Cube_FW_U5_V1.5.0The code is stuck in USB_CoreReset, more specifically it waits for USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST to become 0  do { count++; if (count > HAL_USB_TIMEOUT) { return HAL_TIMEOUT; } } while ((USBx->GRSTCTL & USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST) == USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST); After searching the forum I discovered that CubeMX is not generating __HAL_RCC_SYSCFG_CLK_ENABLE call in HAL_PCD_MspInit. However, after adding this call nothing changes. void HAL_PCD_MspInit(PCD_HandleTypeDef* pcdHandle) { RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef PeriphClkInit = {0}; if(pcdHandle->Instance==USB_OTG_HS) { /* USER CODE BEGIN USB_OTG_HS_MspInit 0 */ __HAL_RCC_SYSCFG_CLK_ENABLE(); /* USER CODE END USB_OTG_HS_MspInit 0 */ Can someone help me resolve the issue?

Posted on May 26, 2017 at 06:18 Hello, I am using STM32F411RET6 chip to access uSD card with SDIO 4bit. By default it uses polling mode to read/write data with SDIO, such asBSP_SD_ReadBlocks(). The problem is that I want to continuously write 128k bytes data to uSD at a time. Writing is often interrupted by other timers, which causes the failure of the writing. After timers are disabled, the writing is successful without problem. I guess DMA mode wouldn't be interrupted by the timers. In order to use DMA, i generate code using cubemx.MX_DMA_Init() has been defined and called at the beginning of main(). in hal_map.c, the DMA has been initialized. If I simply replace HAL_SD_WriteBlocks with HAL_SD_WriteBlocks_DMA, it doesn't work at all. How to enable to use the DMA? /** * Enable DMA controller clock */ void MX_DMA_Init(void) { /* DMA controller clock enable */ __DMA2_CLK_ENABLE(); /* DMA interrupt init */ HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(DMA2_Stream3_IRQn, 4, 0); HAL_NVI

Hi amazing community.    I am working with stm32f429 and cube ide.  This is my configuration for the project          /** * @brief CAN1 Initialization Function * None * @retval None */ static void MX_CAN1_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN CAN1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END CAN1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE BEGIN CAN1_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END CAN1_Init 1 */ hcan1.Instance = CAN1; hcan1.Init.Prescaler = 18; hcan1.Init.Mode = CAN_MODE_NORMAL; hcan1.Init.SyncJumpWidth = CAN_SJW_1TQ; hcan1.Init.TimeSeg1 = CAN_BS1_13TQ; hcan1.Init.TimeSeg2 = CAN_BS2_2TQ; hcan1.Init.TimeTriggeredMode = DISABLE; hcan1.Init.AutoBusOff = DISABLE; hcan1.Init.AutoWakeUp = DISABLE; hcan1.Init.AutoRetransmission = ENABLE; hcan1.Init.ReceiveFifoLocked = DISABLE; hcan1.Init.TransmitFifoPriority = ENABLE; if (HAL_CAN_Init(&hcan1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } /* USER CODE BEGIN CAN1_Init 2 */ /* USER CODE END CAN1_Init 2 */ }       Wi

Hello, I am having trouble getting USART2 to work on my custom STM32F411 discovery board. I have written initialization code for USART2 but I am not seeing any output in my terminal program (minicom). Here are the key parts of my code: void usart_init(USART_TypeDef* usart) { /* Enable USART2 clock */ RCC->APB1ENR |= (1 << RCC_APB1ENR_USART2EN_Pos); /* Enable GPIOA clock*/ RCC->AHB1ENR |= (1 << RCC_AHB1ENR_GPIOAEN); /* Set PA2 and PA3 to alternate function */ GPIOA->MODER &= ~(GPIO_MODER_MODE2_Msk | GPIO_MODER_MODE3_Msk); GPIOA->MODER |= (0b10 << GPIO_MODER_MODE2_Pos) | (0b10 << GPIO_MODER_MODE3_Pos); /* Configure USART2 to use AF7 on PA2, PA3 */ GPIOA->AFR[0] &= ~(GPIO_AFRL_AFRL2 | GPIO_AFRL_AFRL3); GPIOA->AFR[0] |= (7 << GPIO_AFRL_AFSEL2_Pos) | (7 << GPIO_AFRL_AFSEL3_Pos); /* Configure 9600 baud @ 16 MHz PCLK */ set_baud_rate(USART2, 16000000, 9600); USART2->CR1 |= USART_CR1_UE | USART_CR1_TE; // USART

I was typing a reply to a post, when suddenly the following red message appeared (before taking the screenshot, I erased the relatively short text I had already typed there):After reloading, the thread had a post from other user, which was not there previously. However, I've encountered previously that threads I was commenting on had seen comments from other users meantime. Also, the text of that message nor its appearance (red = something went very wrong) does not reflect this event.JW

@Greetings everyone.....In SPC560D we used input capture unit for crank position signal measurement but in SPC58NN84E7 there is no Input capture unit so how do we detect the crankshaft signal and is there any way to detect crankshaft position signal without using ICU. Please share is there is any document or sample codes available

How does STM32 dynamically allocate memory ?

Hi,  This is my setup:MCU: STM32U575OGYSTM32CubeIDE: 1.9.0STM32CubeMX: 6.5.0-RC4 When setting up the ADC1 channels as Differential using the STM32CubeMX, it selects the GPIO pins that doesn't match with the GPIO mapping of the ADC1 in the datasheet. I manually set the channels and test the pins and datasheet is correct about the pins. So this seems like a bug in CubeMX. I am not sure if it has been fixed in updates or not.Example: Setting up "ADC1- IN16 Differential" in CubeMX shows it is connected to "ADC1_IN15" and "ADC1_IN16". However; based on datasheet it is connected to ADC1_IN16 and ADC1_IN17. screenshots below. The problem with this issue is that CubeMX will lock up the wrong GPIO and won't let use it as another feature. In example below I cannot use the PB0 as anything else while it is not used.

Hi, I'm having trouble with the resistive touch screen on my display. Here's some info about my project - I'm using an stm32f401cdu6 microcontroller, a 7" display with an SSD1963 controller, and a touch controller XPT2046. I based my project on the offpic user libraries on GitHub. You can find my microcontroller configuration and source files at https://github.com/koob7/stm32-f401-display. The display works fine, but the touch only works in power mode (XPT PD1=0, PD0=1). The first issue is the synhronic generation of interrupts on the irq pin even when the screen isn't touched. This happens even when interrupts are disabled (XPT PD0=1). In the future, I'd like to only read touch input when it's actually pressed. The second problem occurs in power-down mode (XPT PD0=0): when I change the X position on the touch, both X and Y values change. A similar issue happens when changing Y.

Hi, does have any line of STM32 possibility to measure 20 differential channels with voltages of about 100-150mV. So PGA will be welcome. In classic parametric search, I cannot find such parameters.

Folks,I'm working somewhere the lead engineer doesn't like using debuggers, he uses emacs with gcc and just loads the hex file via a JTAG interface, using an intrusive serial interface for debugging (sic). I've persuaded him to let me use Cube rather than shooting in the dark and he's set me up with his funky set up of non-standard headers and libraries and made a project that will run  in Cube. So I can at least set a break point and step through when I need to.One issue though is that none of the SFRs are showing up in the debuuger window. I'm assuming this is because he, for some reason,  doesn't use normal header files like everyone else. Although I really have no idea how the debugger picks up these SFRs and manages to display them.Is anyone able to advise how I might be able to get Cube IDE to show the values in all of the peripherals' register please?FWIW this:platform:/plugin/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.productdb.debug/resources/cmsis/STMicroelectronics_CMSIS_SVD/STM32F3

I'm trying the ST25DV, ( open drain connection with pullup resistor of 20k ) but I can't get the interrupt to work through the GPO pinThe product code read is 0x51I wrote the register with GPO_EN = 1 and RF_ACTIVITY_EN = 1, RF_WRITE_EN =1, FIELD_CHANGE_EN = 1,after an RF WRITE I see through IT_STS_Dyn that the interrupt has been triggered,but from the GPO pin I never see the interrupt ( I always read the pin at logic high level )What am I missing for it to work ?

The cubemx example for ADC scan of internal channels for 743-eval shows the converted values being multiplied by 4.  So is it really 16 bit or 14?  I have verified the necessity of multiplying by 4 to get correct readings for VBat.

Hello, I have problem with touchGFX once i updated it from 4.16.1 to 4.17 .... when touchgfx_init() function reached to this line (FrontendHeap& heap = FrontendHeap::getInstance();) it makes hardfault which i have not on previous version....in assembly on this line:0x08009748 F7FAFBF4 BL.W     _ZN12FrontendHeapC2Ev (0x08003F34)Please help ......

Hi guysI'm pretty new to the ST world. Just got my hands on an STWINKT1B, hoping to dive into its ultrasonic sound detection features. I spent today tinkering with it, trying to wrap my head around how it all works.So, I've got STM32CubeProgrammer installed to load up new firmware onto it. When I connect it to my computer with the ST-LINK dongle and power it up via USB, everything's fine. But here's the problem: I can't seem to program it using just the USB itself. Every time I try, I get hit with a "No DFU Detected" message. And to make matters worse, when I plug it in via USB, my Windows 11 doesn't even recognize it as a new device, though the ST-LINK dongle gets recognized.I really need USB streaming functionality, but I'm stumped on how to fix this. Any ideas would be a lifesaver. Thanks a bunch!Amir

Currently running into an issue with a custom PCB with a STM32H750 MCU on it. We use an SWD connection to connect to the debugging port. When I go to fully erase the external memory, I receive an error message that is "Error: Mass erase operation failed. Please verify flash protection". If I try and program the device using my binary file, it says the core is locked up. The other 9 boards program fine. Is this a hardware issue more than likely or am I missing something?

Hi, can anyone please confirm,, I'm going to buy 8.8 inch LVDS display with 1280*480 resolution., so, for this display size and resolution is stm32H7 or f7 is more sufficient to handle and also can this used without memory constraints with GUI for user interface (plz, say anything like touch gfx or embedded wizard which can be used easily with which hardware MCU).. please suggest can MCU either dual core h745,,or which one more comfortable for making UI software without writing lot from scratch..Waiting for detailed reply from st-electronics,, as this the starting point for end product prototypeI Can see design file(phil's lab youtube- custom hw flight controller board by h7), so, can it be import and modify accordingly for display port and few uarts is good idea and easy way to use starting point of the hardware for my display??

Dear all.I've implemented a M3 and M4 program ( drive a iLi display and 485 port) now I'm porting it to the H5 (H562RGTX).One of the latest issue I'm facing is the jump from bootloader to application. In M3/M4 i used only LL, and the jump has no problem, simply work.On H5 I must use HAL because of the flash (I must read&write: HAL is a must). But if the application use the HAL it crash (somewere). If I use LowLevel it work.  (example with a simple led blinking).Bootloader use HAL too, and I call HAL_DeInit() before jump (and disable all interrutp, device etc). Why HAL don't work in application?Thanks.

Hello,I have a custom board based on STM32767ZIT6 and it has the three CAN peripherals and the USB designed. The goal is to translate the CAN message to USB directly without the need for a bridge but I am facing issues activating the USB and the three CAN peripherals in the software. I am using basic CDC and when I connect the CAN port to a CAN network using the CANDoISO device, the USB disappear from the device manager and the GUI application.Is it possible to use all three CAN peripherals with USB enabled or  have I messed up the configurations such as interrupt priorities and timing or will an RTOS help here?

From an ST newsletter I understood that ST is promoting new FERD diodes as "rectifiers for switching power supply". I could use these new diodes in a new flyback design so I downloaded a couple of datasheets and searched for Reverse Recovery Time Trr and Reverse Recovery Charge Qrr parameters but was not able to find them. Did you forget to list them or did I miss something?     NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us.
