Hello ST Experts,We are implementing a hot-swappable (plug-and-play) I²C system with STM32G0 slaves, but we are facing an issue where the I²C bus gets stuck due to SCL being held LOW. We need guidance on how to resolve this.System Overview:Master: ESP32-S3Slaves: STM32G0 Controllers (Multiple Slaves)I²C Bus Setup:Pull-up resistors: 4.7kΩ near the master (also tested with 2.2kΩ)Slaves are added dynamically using a hot-swapping (plug-and-play) approachDefault slave address: 0x01 (each slave is reassigned a unique address by the master)Issue Faced:Initially, we connect Slave 1 (0x01) and later reassign its address to 0x60.We then add Slave 2 (0x01) and update its address to 0x61 for independent control.Problem: When adding the second or subsequent slaves, the SCL line gets pulled LOW continuously, causing the I²C bus to get stuck. This suggests that one of the slaves is clock-stretching indefinitely, preventing further communication.A manual reset of the stuck slave restores communication,

Hello everyoneI am creating an application on a PC that uses an ACR1552 reader and that must read and write to a ST25 device. At the moment the data reading works and I am using the SDK of the reader manufacturer using the adpu commands.I understand that in order to write to a previously protected area, I must enter the key (password) in order to then perform the writing operations.I believe it is necessary to use an adpu mode called 'transparent' to be able to directly access the ST25 to write the password.Although I have searched for some examples in the VBNET environment, I have not found anything. Is there anything on this that can help me?Thanks, Daniele

I am working on a project that I aim to control a boost converter using a stm32 f407 disc kit. I want to control pwm duty cycle with two different integers which are x and y. I want my duty cycle equal to (1-(x/y)) how can I do it

I've seen other posts to resolve the compiler warning of "elf has a LOAD segment with RWX permissions", but I'm receiving this warning only when calling functions in RAM using the .RamFunc segment attribute. From the map file I've verified the function is being loaded into RAM.  I could disable the warning, but would like to understand the underlying issue. I'm working with the latest STMCubeIDE version 1.16.0, but also saw this in 1.15.0.  I'm building code for the STM3H735 and STM32H745 families.

Hello STM Community ,I am designing an internal PCB antenna for LoRa communication using the STM32WL55JCI7 at EU868 frequency. Is a PCB antenna recommended by STM for this chip? If so, what guidelines or procedures should I follow for designing a PCB antenna for LoRa communication? Additionally, what range can I expect with an optimized PCB antenna design?Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!

Hello everyone,I am currently working on an STM32H745ZI-Q dual-core project and want to generate the code using CubeMX, compile and flash it with PlatformIO, and use CLion as my development environment. My primary goal is to understand the best approach for setting up a dual-core project with these tools, particularly how boot configuration, toolchain selection, and PlatformIO integration should be handled. Below are my key questions and observations.1. Best Approach for STM32H745 Dual-Core Setup in CLion & PlatformIOI want to use CubeMX for code generation and then compile, flash, and debug using PlatformIO within CLion. Is CubeMX + PlatformIO + CLion a viable workflow for dual-core projects?Does PlatformIO properly support compiling, flashing, and debugging dual-core STM32 projects? Are there any known limitations when handling two cores in PlatformIO?2. Toolchain Selection in CubeMX for PlatformIO CompatibilityCubeMX requires selecting a Toolchain/IDE when generating code.Rig

Hello there,I am practicing with the STM32H573I-DK demo board, STiROT demo project and the chain of certificate feature.I have built a chain of certificates as described in https://wiki.stmicroelectronics.cn/stm32mcu/wiki/Security:How_to_start_with_STiRoT_on_STM32H573.It seems that I cannot execute a regression a regression or other action by supplying the INTERMEDIATE key and certificate. For Instance, Full regression works with ROOT or LEAF credentials, but not the INTERMEDIATE.Am I doing something wrong ? or is it that intermediate certificates are only meant to generate leaf certificates, and cannot be used to re-open a device. Thanks for your feedback.Christian

whether can the touchGFX support to run PDF file or need changing to picture format ?

I can't login into ST to download packages via CubeMX/CubeIDE. The wheel turns forever, no matter what proxy settings I choose. The pack downloader works - I just can't log into ST which is a pitty.Which url does my corporate IT whitelist?See similar issue here: Solved: Unable to login to ST account in STM32CubeIDE - STMicroelectronics CommunityThanks,Jan

I am facing an issue while installing the cube ide in  my rhel 9.2 version, the exact problem was when i try to run the executable file and going through the instructions ,after agreeing the licenses and the folder which contains .rpm files is deleting automatically and causing an error like no matches found for .rpm something like that.

I am new to using stm32 MCUs and I was following a youtube tutorial on how to set up a debugger for dual core MCUs. Before changing some settings I was able to start the debugger without any errors. Now when I try to run the debugger I get this error window popup:'Launching file_CM4 Debug' has encountered a problem. Error in final launch sequence:Failed to start GDB server When I click on details I get:Error in final launch sequence:Failed to start GDB serverFailed to start GDB serverError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: (4) No device found on target. I also noticed that when I plug the controller in the USB port and open NOD_H755ZIQ in This PC, it has 4 files (it had 3 files before). New file is called FAIL.TXT and it says: The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU This is the youtube tutorial that I followed : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI1k6p-fduE Can anyone help me with this?Is it possible to fix this problem or do I n

Hi,I'm working with the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q, which features dual cores (Cortex-M4 & Cortex-M7). I’m trying to understand whether these two cores have separate debug registers, such as DHCSR (Debug Halting Control and Status Register).I have reviewed RM0399 and the Armv7-M Architecture Reference Manual, but I couldn't find a definitive answer. To investigate further, I attempted to access DHCSR (0xE000EDF0) on AP0 and AP3 using STM32CubeProgrammer, and I observed that both cores displayed the same value. However, when running a project in STM32CubeIDE, where I separately access DHCSR on M4 and M7, I see different values for each core. This discrepancy has left me confused about the debug register configuration on STM32H755. Do Cortex-M4 and Cortex-M7 maintain independent debug registers, or are they shared?Any insights or official documentation references would be greatly appreciated!

These are the ECCN for these processors. The code for MP1 and MP2 are different. When purchasing parts from retailer in the USA, an export authorization check was done on their website (no idea why) and retailer said they had to wait for the US agency for export clearance , that took 2 days to clear. After clearance but he invoice stated:These items are controlled by the U.S. Government and authorized for export only to the country of ultimate destination for use by the ultimateconsignee or end-user(s) herein identified. Hello,I'm trying to get an Ethernet ping with NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q to check if everything works. To eliminate any possible errors from my side, and since there are no ready projects for H755, I'm using this project that I've found in this post. I have:opened it with my STM32CubeIde using "Open project from file system" option, checked that pinout for RMII agrees with documentation, physically connected my Nucleo to Ethernet port in my laptop using cable, built the project and ran on the Nucleo board (Run Configuration -> choose configuration for M7 -> Run),opened Windows PowerShell and executed command "ping 192.168.2.120".Every time ping does not work and I get "Request timed out." in response. LEDs are blinking on the board and I can debug it correctly, so I assume the program is running as supposed. What am I supposed to do differently? Do I need to change some network settings on my laptop? Choose different IP address for Nucleo board?

TCXO is not supported in the SUBGHz_PHY code generated by STM32CubeMX for the STM32WL5MOCHTR.  Even with the HSE enabled in the RCC panel, this dialogue box is still shown. According to the datasheet, the internal clock labeled "HSE" is a TCXO, and must be configured as such. Even with the fix applied to the clocks within SystemClock_Config, the system fails to generate valid code.void SystemClock_Config(void) { ... RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_BYPASS_PWR; ... }So there is an issue with the internal model within STM32CubeMX (as of 3/13/2025).When Code is Debugged, the code always gets stuck in the function "HAL_SYSCFG_EnableVREFBUF."Where should we go from here?

Hi,I’d like to use the vectorized version of a font (bebas-neue-regular.ttf), but the glyphs don’t quite match the original shape. Why is that, and how can I fix it?Could it have something to do with the arrow next to some nodes? I don’t know much about glyph design. The attached example compares the bitmap and vector versions of the font. Thanks for help.

Hey Folks! Is there a way to select multiple sectors to erase on an External Flash, instead of clicking on every entry?I have tried holding down SHIFT, e.g. Click 0, Hold shift, Click 5. That just selects 5. Alternatively is there a CLI tool where I can provide an address range to erase?I am using 2.19:Kind Regards,

Hello,I am trying to understand this document:https://wiki.stmicroelectronics.cn/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_deploy_SSP_using_a_step-by-step_approachGenerally speaking, I miss some context between the "SSP is nice to protect your firmware through HSM" and the how-to with many acronyms and missing explanations.I spend a couple of days reading related documentation and still feel very lost."2.2 Payload file"I understand this step as the creation of a file with all the secrets in it, including HSM and RMA keys/password.What are the meaning of RSSe, DHUK, BHK or DHUK_xor_BHK acronyms?** Question 1**  What are RSSe, DHUK, BHK ?2.2.1:My page looks very different. This section is not helpful.2.2.1.2:I believe this is the public key generated in step 2.1.1.What is the RMA password? I understand that this password allows to protect RMA mode, but how is it created? should I provide a file with a random 16 character password? or is this an AES key? Is it one of the private keys generated in step 2.

I've already contacted support, so this post is just for community. There's a bug in HAL_SetTickFreq function (stm32f4xx_hal.c)---8<---HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_SetTickFreq(HAL_TickFreqTypeDef Freq){ HAL_StatusTypeDef status = HAL_OK; assert_param(IS_TICKFREQ(Freq)); if (uwTickFreq != Freq) {  uwTickFreq = Freq;  /* Apply the new tick Freq */  status = HAL_InitTick(uwTickPrio); } return status;}--->8---If HAL_InitTick fails, the frequency remains unchanged whereas uwTickFreq is changed. E.g. I have stm32f407vgt6 working on 168MHz with 1kHz SysTick . I want to set SysTick to 10Hz, so I call HAL_SetTickFreq( HAL_TICK_FREQ_10HZ ). Eventually SysTick_Config fails because (16800000 - 1) is bigger than SysTick_LOAD_RELOAD_Msk (0xFFFFFFUL). But uwTickFreq is already == HAL_TICK_FREQ_10HZ, so the ticks are now counted incorrectly. HAL_SetTickFreq function should be changed to something like this:---8... if (uwTickFreq

Hello everyone,We encountered a problem while setting up our benchmark on NanoEdgeAI.When we want to select the signals, we don't have a "Select All" button. So we have to manually select all the boxes. The problem is that we have over 4,000 signals to select, which is tedious to do by hand.So I'd like to know if there's a way to select everything so we can run the benchmark?Thank you for your help!

Greetings,I have a B-U585I-IOT02A. I am trying to connect the board to the STM32CubeProgrammer using the USB-C. I placed the BOOT0 jumper to 1. And when I go to USB, the Port shows "No DFU detected". Any clue what steps I need to take in order to make it work? I am running Debian 12.Thank you!

Under what circumstances is the 32.768kHz clock signal present on the PC15-OSCX_OUT pin of the STM32C071 product?

Hello,We are using the STM32H573 in a new project. We have designed a custom board using the 64-pin LQFP package. The MCU connects to a ethernet PHY using RMII interface. Our product has to meet strict radiated emissions levels that are 7dB lower that CISPR class B.In our pre-compliance emissions testing, the product passed class B limits, but had emissions above the lower limit. The design is using standard best-practices for EMC compliance (e.g. solid power/ground places, good decoupling, controlled impedance board stack etc etc). Here are the results, red limit line is class B, black is the lower limit we have to pass. Are some investigation, we found the emissions we all harmonics of the 50MHz RMII clock. e.g. at 400MHz, 950MHz, 1GHz.Are further investigation we believe the issues is caused by ground bounce in the QFP package. The 50MHz RMII clock is causing the STM32 die to bounce at 50MHz and all its harmonics due to the lead inductance of the package. This causes all the other outp

I've designed a custom board using the STM32H747I MCU, following the STM32H747I-DISCO reference design. In my design, I've connected VLXSMPS to VDDLDO, similar to the reference design. I'm currently setting up the power configuration in STM32CubeIDE and need clarification on the correct HAL_PWREx_ConfigSupply() parameter to use. My options seem to be: #define PWR_DIRECT_SMPS_SUPPLY PWR_CR3_SMPSEN /*!< Core domains are supplied from the SMPS only */ #define PWR_SMPS_1V8_SUPPLIES_LDO (PWR_CR3_SMPSLEVEL_0 | PWR_CR3_SMPSEN | PWR_CR3_LDOEN) /*!< The SMPS 1.8V output supplies the LDO which supplies the Core domains */ #define PWR_SMPS_2V5_SUPPLIES_LDO (PWR_CR3_SMPSLEVEL_1 | PWR_CR3_SMPSEN | PWR_CR3_LDOEN) /*!< The SMPS 2.5V output supplies the LDO which supplies the Core domains */ #define PWR_SMPS_1V8_SUPPLIES_EXT_AND_LDO (PWR_CR3_SMPSLEVEL_0 | PWR_CR3_SMPSEXTHP | PWR_CR3_SMPSEN | PWR_CR3_LDOEN) /*!< The SMPS 1.8V output supplies an external circuits and the LDO.
