Hi John, Could please confirm if the slew rate requirement of VL53L8CX is satisfied in the EVM X-NUCLEO-53L8A1?  We're considering to use TI's TLV751180330PDSQR to power up the VL53L8CX sensor. But the TLV751180330PDSQR supports 11mV/µS approx. Also, there is no graph where we can infer the O/P slew for the LDK130M33RY or LDK130M18R.

Hello ! I am calibrating a VL53L4CD ToF sensor. Is it suggested to set a large timing budget (e.g. 200 ms) for the offset and crosstalk calibrations' distance measurement process? In the distance measurement examples, the timing budget is set to 10 ms for 'fast mode' and 200 ms for 'high accuracy mode'. If the sensor will ultimately be operating in both 'fast' and 'high accuracy' modes, is it better to perform the initial offset and crosstalk calibrations in 'high accuracy mode'? Thanks!  Brian

Hi,i've been posting here a few times to get a VL53L4CX to work. I've had success so far, but the latest iteration of my little PCB is really giving me troubles. When i apply power to my board (via an esp board) it stops working (the esp32 board). It feels like i've created a short, but i can't seem to measure that on the board.I do solder this myself, so there could be a short under the sensor itself (i just use a heat gun from the bottom after tinning the pads). I've done this a few times now and i'm quite sure it's not the case... so there must be an issue with my board layout/design.It would be great if somebody could review this for me?http://cyclops.nettrends.nl/stuff/tofboard.tar.gz

I figured out how to build and integrate the Android kernel with my updated drivers. Unfortunately, my eval kit hangs at the ST splash screen before restarting after flashing my device.  I run the "flash-device" command mentioned in the wiki: How to populate boards for Android - stm32mpu without any errors. I attached a serial UART log from boot. The system hangs and reboots after the following lines: Starting kernel ... I/TC: Secondary CPU 1 initializing I/TC: Secondary CPU 1 switching to normal world boot Any advice? Thanks

The TI motor drivers mct8329a and mct8316 require 100us delay between i2c data bytes. This can't include the acknowledge bit, but requires holding down the clock between transfers for the 100us. it is due to a bug in the TI chips that can't stretch clocks. Not doing this properly (according to TI) causes the chip control to freeze requiring a reset to recover.I'm using an STM32F429/439 MCU and my firmware is utilizing the STM32F4xx HAL, specifically the stm32f4xx_hal_i2c files. I'm using host mode on the ST for the driver chip slave. I have added blocking delays (using a 1us timer) to achieve the 100us delays to HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit, I2C_MasterRequestWrite(), HAL_I2C_Master_Receive() and I2C_MasterRequestRead() functions. I've had to tweak some of the status register setting, particularly the I2C_CR1_ACK flag.I've been successful getting the behavior I need for most of the transactions. The transmits all work well, where I'm having difficulty is with the first two bytes of a five by

When using I2C with DMA on an STM32G4, is there a recommended relative ordering of the I2C event, I2C error, and DMA interrupt preemption priorities?I have not been able to find anything in documentation about this (though I might have missed it). What I have found is the CubeG4 examples (I2C_TwoBoards_ComDMA) where the DMA, I2C event, and I2C error interrupts all have the same preemption priority (0 for all). I've also found another post where ST recommends the following relative preemption priority values: DMA (0) < I2C error (1) < I2C event (2).Currently we have the following relative preemption priority values: DMA (8) < I2C event (10) < I2C error (11). In our case the event and error are reversed compared to the above linked ST advice, though we don't remember why. I'm debugging WWDG events that we've traced to an I2C event interrupt storm, and one hypothesis is that the internal state of the HAL I2C driver is getting corrupted by e.g. DMA interrupt preempting an alrea

Hi everyone, I’m using a MacBook with an Apple M1 chip running macOS Sequoia 15.2. I recently updated STM32CubeIDE to version 1.18.1. My target board is a Nucleo-32 STM32L031K6T6. Initially, I created a new project using STM32CubeIDE and, without modifying anything, successfully debugged the automatically generated code. I noticed that the .elf file was correctly generated in the Debug folder. Then, I added a very simple code snippet to send a value over the serial port, just to test functionality. However, when I ran the code, I got the following error: /Applications/STM32CubeIDE.app/.../ld: oc4.elf section `.text' will not fit in region `FLASH'/Applications/STM32CubeIDE.app/.../ld: region `FLASH' overflowed by 6884 bytescollect2: error: ld returned 1 exit statusmake: *** [makefile:64: oc4.elf] Error 1 After this error, the .elf file disappeared from the Debug folder. It seems that STM32CubeIDE generates the .elf file initially but deletes it after.&nbsp

Hello,I am trying to enable electrical angle interpolation option in MC WB for the hall sensor, however, I am not seeing any changes in the generated code. I think this option is related to the REV_PARK_ANGLE_COMPENSATION_FACTOR since it is used to calculate the electrical angle based on the speed. is it correct? if no, which part of the code is changed? Thank you/****** Hall sensors ************/ #define HALL_AVERAGING_FIFO_DEPTH 16 /*!< depth of the FIFO used to average mechanical speed in 0.1Hz resolution */ #define HALL_MTPA false /* USER CODE BEGIN angle reconstruction M1 */ #define PARK_ANGLE_COMPENSATION_FACTOR 0 #define REV_PARK_ANGLE_COMPENSATION_FACTOR 0 /* USER CODE END angle reconstruction M1 */

Hi,I have project in cube ide 1.18.1. with stm32h523.The generated code void MX_I2C1_Init(void) has LL_I2C_EnableFastModePlus(I2C1); at the end despite the configuration is set to normal (not fast or fast+). This looks like generator bug because I don't see the same error in stm32g071 project.I explicitly need the normal i2c mode setting for its sink current limit. Otherwise this bug may actually cause a chip damage due to over current. Can anyone confirm if this is indeed a bug?It is easy to reproduce. just create empty project with i2c and set the driver to LL. the 100kHz normal is the default.I tested it with real cpu and even if I replace it with LL_I2C_DisableFastModePlus it still seems to sink >20mA so it does not behave as the datasheet suggests. I did not find specification for current in normal mode, but I would expect something above 4mA based in i2c protocol spec and safe margin below 25mA which is the damage limit according datasheet.

Hello everyone,I have the B-L475E-IOT01A2 board equipped with the M24SR64-Y, connected on the I2C2 bus. I managed to write URI, SMS, and email records, and even successfully wrote NDEF text via a mobile application. However, I haven't been able to write NDEF text via I2C.Is there any guide or example available that could help me resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for your help!

Dear all,I have dev a custom board  pcb based on stm32h743ii with 32MB of flash and 32MB  sdram FMC  for a 7 inch lcd HD. I am new on cubeide i coming from esp32 world and i have some programing dev question .Is it a good idear to implement :To partition the flash in 2 regions 1 for system the 2  to store image in the flash in png or jpeg format then load them....What is the best solution for this family of mcu.

HiI'm trying to sample a sine wave between 400 and 500 kHz with the Nucleo H723ZG. I'm using the 16 bit adc 1 with following configuration:sampling rate: 2 MSpsT_sampling: 16.5 clock cyclesf_adc: 50 MHz (from PLL2P: 100 MHz)DMA circular modecontinuous conversion modeadc trigger: regular conversion launched by softwareI'm trying to calculate the correct frequency of the signal. The calculated frequency fluctuates between +-500Hz, which is not accurate enough. The code to calculate the frequency has been tested with pre-generated values with a given frequency and works fine with an accuracy of +- 1Hz.I already checked the reference voltage VREF, which is fine, and removed L1 (as described in https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/fluctuations-in-adc-value-of-stm32h743-mcu/m-p/331501#M79889).There seems to be a problem with the sampling / sampling rate.Any solutions will be highly appreciated .Thank you

Hi, I am trying to get any of the TouchGFX demos to work on STM32N6570-DK board to work but nothing worked so far. Only TouchGFX Analog/Digital clock example works from all other available examples. All available demos for N6 DK board don't work. When I try a demo, I see that the "Post-Build steps" has already the following script:arm-none-eabi-objcopy.exe -O binary --remove-section=ExtFlashSection --remove-section=FontFlashSection --remove-section=TextFlashSection ${ProjName}.elf ${ProjName}.bin&arm-none-eabi-objcopy.exe -O ihex --only-section=FontFlashSection --only-section=TextFlashSection --only-section=ExtFlashSection ${ProjName}.elf ${ProjName}_assets.hexI appended the script with "&&" to add the header script as follows:arm-none-eabi-objcopy.exe -O binary --remove-section=ExtFlashSection --remove-section=FontFlashSection --remove-section=TextFlashSection ${ProjName}.elf ${ProjName}.bin&arm-none-eabi-objcopy.exe -O ihex --only-section=FontFlashSection --only-s

Hi,   I am trying to use the dual-bank mechanism of a STM32L496 MCU. Using `BFB2` bit of User Configuration register, I am able to switch between bank 1 and bank 2. My application, using FreeRTOS, runs without problem in bank 1. However, when I set the `BFB2` bit, it properly boots from bank 2 (I can follow traces sent on the UART proving it), but I systematically get a HardFault, forced from a UNALIGNED fault, that seems to occur during the execution of FreeRTOS's `xPortPendSVHandler`.   Any idea what could be the cause of it ? or how to workaround it?   Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi everyone,I’ve been working with the STM32WB1MMC module and I’m running into several issues related to HCI command support over UART.1. Using stm32wb1x_BLE_HCILayer_fw.binI started by flashing the binary found here:STM32CubeWB/Projects/STM32WB_Copro_Wireless_Binaries/STM32WB1xUnfortunately, the module doesn’t respond to any HCI commands over UART.Is this binary supposed to work standalone, or does it require an application to map the UART interface?I’ve tried several UART ports but haven’t received any response so far.2. Testing Transparent ModeTo explore alternatives, I looked into the Transparent Mode example from ST:STM32CubeWB/Projects/P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo/Applications/BLE/BLE_TransparentModeAccording to the documentation, this application should allow controlling the MCU directly via HCI commands when used with the XX-BLE_Stack_full_fw.bin binary.Since the project is only available for the Nucleo-WB55RG (not for the WB1MMC module), I ran tests on the WB55RG instead, which I had

HiI was here with a timer question not long ago, and everything seemed solved. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-wireless/timer-tim2-does-not-work-when-ble-is-initialized-in-stm32wb55/m-p/794896#M24405I am working on a custom device, but I made a demo version for the nucleo board to share the project.Respected @FilipKremen  helped me then. Also, when regenerating the project with entering standby mode, everything crashed, and for many days, I couldn't find what the problem was because most of the files seemed to be identical. And now I added the functionality with the standby mode to the project with the timer example, and I was able to trace the problem. If I activate #define CFG_LPM_SUPPORTED 1, entering standby mode on a long press of button 1 works, but the timer doesn't start at the initialization. At the same time, if CFG_LPM_SUPPORTED is 0, the timer works fine, but entering standby mode does not work.Is this a bug, or am I missing something? Please help meI a

Pin 2 is connected to Boot0. is it Okey to do this (not using resistors).?

Dear STM Community and Experts,we are trying to implement a dual-port USB-C design using STM parts with the following requirements:Port 1: USB-C Power Delivery (PD) Sink, 100W, no dataPort 2: USB-C non-PD Source 5V 2A max., USB 3.1 Gen 1 Data, Display Port (DP) Alt-ModeThere's plenty of documentation by STM on USB-C, but unfortunately we still have some uncertainties mainly about the companion circuitry and tying it all together. We selected STM32G0B1 as the Platform Policy Device (PPD) and are planning to implement both UCPD interfaces on it, one for each USB-C port, using STM's UCPD firmware. The selection of the companion-chips for these port requirements is less clear to us:For Port 1 (100W PD Sink) we decided to use TCPP01-M12 as the companion chip and STL40DN3LLH5 as the VBUS load switch. For Port 2 (DP Alt-Mode, USB 3.1) we are using a USB 3.1 / Display Port MUX by TI (TUSB546), but we are unsure of which companion chip to use here. Should we use TCPP

HiWhich module would you recommend as a replacement for the SPAC265BC12P0.30 power module, with the same dimensional and technical specifications?

I'm using STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0 and it was working fine but today when i open the board selector, i see an ads instead of the boards list.

Hi all,I'm building a discharger using my STM F446RE, such that it's RTC registers are used to store data that'll be loaded to set parameters in my code every time the discharger is plugged into the power. Just to clarify - I'm NOT using the RTC as a clock, I just use it's registers to store data. For a reason I don't understand, the RTC's registers get cleared (i.e. all data is set to 0) every time the discharger is unplugged from the power. I saw that plugging a battery to the Vbat pin helps keep the RTC consistent, but my superior claims that it's actually not needed in this case, because I'm only using the RTC's registers and not the clock itself (so the data should be saved regardless of power connection). Is my superior correct, and there's a way to solve this without plugging a battery to the Vbat pin, or is he wrong and the Vbat pin must be fed a battery for the RTC to save it's register's data? Thanks in advance for any help on the subject!

Hi,for evaluation I'm running STLinux on a STM32MP257F-DK board currently.I found the Linux console is available on one of the USB-ports with the default configuration of that operating system.Quick question: is that Linux console also available on some plain UART-port for that development kit (or for the STM32MP25 in general)? If yes: which port is used? Thanks!

Hi, We have designed a board using STM32WB55 and also ordered evaluation kit. Our company policy requires us to request software, so there is 2-3 week delay until we get it. At the moment I am trying to understand what is the required software to make it possible to program and debug the board.STM32Cube IDESTSW-LINK009 driver for STLINK V3STM32CubeProg (Or does it come with IDE?)STM32CubeMonitor (Also included with IDE?) This is what I have come up with so far. If there are things I have missed or could benefit from, please give me some rope here so I can request all the useful software from my IT department! Best regards,STMDesigner
