Posted on December 11, 2017 at 11:33Trying to use TIM16 of a STM32F072 to generate a (software triggered) one shot high pulse at a GPIO pin.As there are some screenshots, I have attached a PDF to show the problem. I do not use any timer hardware beside of ARR and CNT, but get a 40 usec (first) pulse instead of a 200 usec pulse...Running TIM16 as periodical timer with same initialization, second and all following pulses are 200 usec!?Any idea?Best regards Juergen.

Posted on December 10, 2017 at 16:56Hey,I am trying to test my MCU with the sequence bellow in order to check if i get time drift on the RTC clock.loop on :1. print RTC time + date2.  enter stand by modeI tested the wake up from stand by mode with :1. ALARM every 5 seconds2. rising edge on the WKUP pinThis sequence make's the RTC clock drift almost immediately and the drift is getting larger and larger as the time passes ( I print the RTC clock and compare it to a stop watch).Am i doing some thing wrong that causes this issue ? I would be happy to supply any parts of the code if needed. Thanks !#stm32-f4 #stm32f4-rtc #rtc

Posted on December 07, 2017 at 10:52I am working on STM32F100 with SPI Flash(Winbond - W25Q80BV) Interfacing. In my coding write page function, read page function, erase chip and erase sector function working properly. Status register also read properly. But I can't write full flash. For write full flash I follow below step1) First I erase chip 2) Write page and then read page.3) After that I increase address for move next page. But problem is that write only one page.I can't write into next page.So I write only one page and read full flash but I got same data every time.I want to read/write full flash. Below I mention my code (write function)Please suggest me write Algorithm or step which is useful for write full flash.  HAL_StatusTypeDef Flash_W25Q80_Page_Write(uint32_t Addr, uint8_t *data, uint16_t length){ uint8_t cmd_frm[4]={(uint8_t)FLASH_WRITE_CMD}; uint8_t stat_reg_ret[2]={0x00}; HAL_StatusTypeDef ret = HAL_OK; cmd_frm[1]=(uint8_t)Addr >> 16; cmd_frm[

Posted on December 08, 2017 at 23:55Hi I am using STEVAL-FKI868V1 kit with my custom microcontroller board. I tested simple code of 'SDK Basic Generic A' where S2LP kit board is configured as transmitter, I am using other kit board with Nucleo L152R as reciever, and I can see the data received in the S2LP-DK utility app.  Although I modifed the code for transmitter to transmit in a loop rather than getting an interrupt on GPIO and clearing the interrupt register in the IRQ handler. I had to do that since I am facing a problem with S2LP - GPIO config - I am not able to config the GPIO for generating an interrupt on any condition listed in Table 57 of S2LP datasheet. Can anyone help me or share his code for configuring GPIO for interrupt condition? Thanks in advance.. Silas#s2-lp

Posted on December 09, 2017 at 12:46Hello everybody,I need to write some registers of an integrated circuit connected to an STM32F407VG MCU by the SPI2 line.I found these two functions:     -SPI_I2S_ReceiveData()      -SPI_I2S_SendData()which documentation can be found at http://www.disca.upv.es/aperles/arm_cortex_m3/curset/STM32F4xx_DSP_StdPeriph_Lib_V1.0.1/html/group___s_p_i___group2.htmlI just didn't get how to tell the function which register I want to write to, since the SPI_I2S_SendData() accepts only 2 parameters: SPI line number (e.g. SPI1, SPI2, SPI3) and the data to be transmitted.Any help is highly appreciated.Thank you, best regards,Lorenzo#register #spi #firmware #data

Posted on December 06, 2017 at 07:39 Hi, after I moved my .bss and .data sections to SRAM2 on L476 my binary file blows into 400mb I know this question was raised here before but I still don't understand in my example why is this happening in this case. In my case, I place all the buffers and heap and stack in SRAM1 so, in reality, this is all uninitialized data which is later initialized to 0 in startup code. Why is it referenced anyway in a binary file? Also if I define sections like so placing them in: RAM AT>FLASH code links into small binary, but I guess it's not allowed since this is reservedfor variables initialised with constant data from flash. /* ***************************************************************************** ** ** File : LinkerScript.ld ** ** Abstract : Linker script for STM32L476RGTx Device with ** 1024KByte FLASH, 96KByte RAM ** ** Set heap size, stack size and stack location according ** to application requirements. ** ** Set memory bank area and

Posted on December 07, 2017 at 10:21 Hello all, I am using STM32F030R8T6 and also using HAL libraries for programming. I am using two UARTs one as a debug UART1 to send various messages to PC and UART2 for communication with Bluetooth module (BT24LT). As theHAL_UART_RxCpltCallbackis triggered only once so I am not able to receive whole string. I am also using STM32CubeMX. I have referred https://letanphuc.net/2015/09/stm32f0-uart-tutorial-5/. What am I missing? I have attached usart.cwhich initializes UARTs and theHAL_UART_RxCpltCallback() is as below: //Interrupt callback routine void HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart) { if (huart->Instance == USART2) //BT UART { len = sprintf(Txbuffer, 'BT response: %s', BT_UART_RX); HAL_UART_Transmit_IT(&huart1, Txbuffer, len); //send to PC whatever received here HAL_UART_Receive_IT(&huart2, (uint8_t *) BT_UART_RX, 1); } } I have usedHAL_UART_Receive_IT(&huart2, (uint8_t *) BT_UART_RX, 1); in main before

Posted on December 05, 2017 at 22:33I am setting up a USB OTG based project on the STM32F4 Discovery Board.  I am using STM32CubeMX 4.23.0 and STM32Cube_FW_F4_v1.18.0.  This is the same set up on my Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18.2 PCs and both have the same error. The clock configuration tab is always indicating that the clock set up is in error.  In the PLL Source Mux,  the HSI input is selected and has a red box around it with the message 'PLL Mux should have HSE as input selected'.  The HSE button is, of course, grayed out.  It generates the code but I get warnings about an invalid clock configuration. Is this a problem with STM32CubeMX?  Is there actually an invalid clock configuration?  Is the generated code safe to use?#stm32f4-discovery #usb #stmcubemx

Posted on November 30, 2017 at 22:31 Hallo all, I'm not sure, but maybe I found a bug - I wrote this question at stackexchange.com first, because I had problems to create account here, but now it works so I'm writing here (link to my stackexchange post: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/342643/stm32l100rc-and-stm32l152rc-disco-boards-fail-on-ll-flash-getlatency-ll-fla). My problem: I have stm32l100rc and stm32l152rc disco boards and am using stm32cubemx and sw4stm32 IDE. After creating default project for them in cubemx - I mean I go through board chooser and then leave everything as is except changing library from HAL to LL in project -> settings -> advanced settings for both RCC and GPIO and generate project for sw4stm32 - I import it to sw4stm32, add some code for LED3 blinking (to while loop in main function): LL_GPIO_TogglePin(LD3_GPIO_Port, LD3_Pin);LL_mDelay(1000); build it and run it (it's written to board, I see status LED blinking), but LED3

I've not configured anything else - including any interrupts. (sorry for the small font HCLK is 84 Mhz)SDIO_CMD, SDIO_CK, and SDIO_D0 are connected as you might imagine. The breakout board includes some pull ups. When i generate the project I've noticed that HAL_SD_Init is missing from sd_diskio.o, so my code in main.c looks like thisMX_GPIO_Init(); MX_SDIO_SD_Init();/* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */  if (HAL_SD_Init(&hsd) != HAL_OK) { _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); }MX_FATFS_Init();   fResult = f_mount(&SDFatFs, (TCHAR const*)SDPath, 1);When I run the code, fResult eventually times out and reports error code 1 - FR_DISK_ERRIt get's stuck in SD_read in file sd_diskio.c, an

Posted on November 30, 2017 at 02:49Hi,I need to use UART to send data from the SPC570S-DISP to a different board, looking at the UM2025 User Manual for the SPC570S-DISP: Discovery + Evaluation Board, section 2.9 LINFlex and UART, it says the LINFlex supports LIN Master mode, LIN slave mode and UART mode, but not much detail information there. So, what are the PINs i can use for the UART? I expect to find 3 PINs for TX/RX/GND, but for TX alone, there are TX, TXD, K TXD, LIN_TXD. Also is there any jumper to configure for the UART mode?Besides the UM2025, is there any other document that offer more detailed information about the SPC570S-DISP board? Sorry for being new to the board and lack some of the basic knowledge.Best Regards,Job#uart #spc570s-disp

The only way to restore the access was using STLink Utility (Holding the reset button (Black button,RST, in the board) and erasing all the memory).   However, this issue also happened when checking the option to Create peripheral separate pairs in .c and .h, something like that, this time the code blocks the access just after the download.   In both cases the code keeps running but you cannot debug, reset or download new ones. Solution:    After some trial and error, comparing the good code with the evil one, I could solve this changing the following fil

According to RM 0364 Reference manual ''STM 32 F 334 x x advanced ARM®-based 32-bit MCUs'', the address offset of TIM1 prescaler is 0x28.What is address offset? My question is what is the address of TIM 1?Boundary address of TIM1 is 0x40012C00-0x40012FFF. So address of TIM1 prescaler is 0x40012C00+0x28=0x40012C28?I want hints.Best Regards,Ken Inoue.

Posted on August 09, 2017 at 15:21I am working with the HAL RTOS generated through cube and generally speaking, so far so good. I am used to using FreeRTOS but am a little stumped with this HAL RTOS, more specifically the timers. I have generated the code from cube and it looks exactly like the example code here (pg 20)http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/2d/60/ff/15/8c/c9/43/77/DM00105262.pdf/files/DM00105262.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00105262.pdf My problem is that I don't know how to set/adjust a timer's period, as the osTimerCreate function does not take a period like the classic FreeRTOS function xTimerCreate.Cheers#rtos #timer
