Solved

Hello,I'm developing on an STM32F207 (datasheet). I am attempting to modify a couple of the internal Flash sectors (the 128kB sectors 10 & 11 to be specific). I'm trying to figure out how to do this in a way that will not block the CPU. Let's say I'm trying to write an entire 128 KB sector. The F207's Flash is a single bank; my understanding is that means the CPU is blocked during Flash write operations and the Flash cannot be read until the write operation is complete. The most common solution I've seen expressed is to place and execute the Flash operations in RAM; but won't this cause the same issue? The flash is still being written to. Won't this also prevent it from being read by the CPU?Also, would it be possible to divert these operations to the DMA unit? If not, why?Thank you

Getting started...I've installed STM32Cube MX 6.0.1 and IDE 1.4.2, and STM32L476 Package has been downloaded/installed (stm32cube_fw_l4_v1160.zip).When I go into the project examples in the package and try to open them they:1) have EWARM and MDK-ARM folders that aren't for MX/IDE2) have SW4STM32 folder that sort of works with IDE, but doesn't have ioc file for mx3) convert when I open .project file implying they are created with something other than latest IDEQuestions:a) Are there any examples actually created in recent STM32CubeMX/STM32CubeMX?b) If not how can I create .ioc file from the project examples that do exist, so I can evaluate the configuration settings, check/modify pinouts, and otherwise usefully mess with the examples.Paul

Hello everyoneWe use ST1S14PHR to reduce from 40V input to 15V output. 15V are used to drive Mosfet (BLDC Motor Control). Lately we had a lot of problem with ST1S14PHR, because some parts failed during on field operation. We cannot understand what is the problem, because when parts came to us, we can only see ST1S14PHR is damaged, with pin 7 (Vin) burned, and we don't know what's happened.40V Vin cames from a battery. We use a electolitic capacitor and a pair of ceramic capacitor in the input stage, as the image below can show. We tested products on field for some months before say it was ok and before start production. After we start production we get negatives feedbacks, and discovered the problem on ST1S14.Battery in the input should avoid high Vin transient, so we cannot understand why pin 7 burn.Anyone has expenrienced something like that? Any ideas?Thank youBest RegardsRoberto

I've spent several hours trying to do this. None of the articles from the web are working for me. Something is always screwed up. Either there is no source code or there are compile errors. I've also wasted hours trying to get the Target Selector to work, only to eventually find it is not compatible with STM32F1 series. Great. Can someone please give me suggestions on how to proceed? I am beginning to wonder if I have made the right choice in moving from TI to STM. The TI IDE is very easy to use. Am I just experiencing new user problems or is this IDE as buggy as it appears to be?

I probably should have posted this many weeks ago but after the hell I've been through I thought it worth posting this as a question that I now believe I've answered myself but in the hopes of saving someone else a few weeks of hell here goes. For the past 3 months we've been finalizing a design built around a STM32F205. We're using both a 64 and a 100 pin version of this chip in 2 different versions of the product. Unlike our last product, this time we went without an external clock crystal (HSE) and went instead with the internal 16 MHz HSI clock source. We set the system clock at 120 MHz - the rated speed of this chip family. We don't use USB so timing precision wasn't top of mind. After we got up the learning curve and had the application code working, we started getting intermittent lock-ups....hard faults. Sometimes it would happen immediately, sometimes it would take a few minutes, and sometimes it would go hours and even days....and then lock up. We edited and refined the appli

I need documents(datasheet, user manual etc..) related to ST25RU3992 as it is not available on the st website.

STM32CubeIDE v1.4.2STM32F4 v1.25.2STM32F446RCI generated my code and got this:RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSI; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSIState = RCC_HSI_ON; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSICalibrationValue = RCC_HSICALIBRATION_DEFAULT;The HSE crystal is never turned on anywhere. Big bug.I change this to:RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_ON; //RCC_OscInitStruct.HSICalibrationValue = RCC_HSICALIBRATION_DEFAULT;And now my USB finally works. =)HSE is configured in RCC as "Crystal/Ceramic Resonator". I have not added anything to the code. I can send you files if that would help.

I want to disable touch using NoTouchController class, but the TouchGFXConfiguration.cpp file is located in generated folder, but STM32CubeMX will always override this change.CubeMX should have option to select TouchController.

The kernel cannot be started in a loop, as long as I use TF-A+UBOOT to start the kernel

Hi Everyone.I have created a STM32CubeIDE project for the L476 Nucleo.I'm having huge issues trying to link the "MotionMC_CM4F_wc32_ot.a" library into my project. The images are 1) of my file tree structure, and 2) the statement entered into the linker settingstrying to copy exactly as possible from the STM32 eCompass example. Below is the error I'm receiving, I don't like pasting such long strings in these types of questionsbut I'm lost to a solution.c:\st\stm32cubeide_1.3.0\stm32cubeide\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.7-2018-q2-update.win32_1.4.0.202007081208\tools\arm-none-eabi\bin\ld.exe: error: MotionMagCal.elf uses VFP register arguments, F:\emb\ARM\ST\CubeIde\L4\L476\IMU\MagCal\MotionMagCal\Middlewares\ST\STM32_MotionMC_Library\Lib\MotionMC_CM4F_wc32_ot.a(motion_mc.o) does notc:\st\stm32cubeide_1.3.0\stm32cubeide\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.7-2018-q2-update.win32_1.4.0.202007081208\tools\arm-none-eabi\

Hello,I'm currently developing an application on a STM32H753VT6 with touchGFX and I have an issue with an animatedImage Widget. I want to create a gif with 12 bells images. The problem is that the bottom of the animation is (sometimes partially) missing as you can see there :  I've already done this animation on another project without any problem but on my main application it doesn't work. Here is the code creating the animated gif :animatedImageBell.setXY(0, 0); animatedImageBell.setBitmaps(BITMAP_CLOCHE00116_ID, BITMAP_CLOCHE00127_ID); animatedImageBell.setUpdateTicksInterval(NB_TICKS_UPDATE_INTERVALS); add(animatedImageBell);and the code to start and stop the animation (I'm not using a loop because the animation is not nice)if(start_bell_shaking == true) { if(init_start_bell_shaking_done == false) { // here we replace the bell by the animatedImageBell animatedImageBell.setXY(zoomAnimationBell.getX() - OFFSET_BELL_X_POSITION, zoomAnimationBell.getY() - OFFSET_BELL

Hi @Martin KJELDSEN : I want to know how many live images are cached.I found two pointer variables.  static CacheTableEntry* cacheTable; //address of allocation point cache  static BitmapId* allocationTable;  //order of allocations in cacheBut I couldn't get any useful information.Thank you!

It looks like a simple refactor bug. The ethernet_link_check_state function includes the line: struct netif *netif = (struct netif *) argument;but argument does not exist and netif is the name of the function argument. I assume a previous version had argument passed in as a void*. Deleting the line seems sufficient to fix it. Is there a way I can fix it so that it persists across a regeneration?

I use TouchGFX and STM32H7 system. It needs large font files (chinese + many sizes) which will not fit into internal RAM.I also need to write log data into flash. I would want to use the same flash to store fonts and store the logging data. But TouchGFX fonts require memory-mapped mode, and storing data requires command mode.Which option is the best?Use 1 physical flash (switch external flash mode between memory-mapped for fonts and command mode for storing data)Use 2 physical flash chips, one with FW and fonts (memory-mapped mode), other for data only (command-mode)I would use STM32H7B0 with 2 external flash option (FW+fonts in external mm-flash, data in external cmd-flash), STM32H7B3 with 1 external flash option (FW in internal flash, Fonts+data in external flash with mode switching between mm/cmd).

Hi!I'm talking here about script "StartTTPL4.bat".I've removed "rem" before "pause" word at the end to see results of the script. Results are: "Error! No Com port available !"But I'm sute that it's available, because I can select it manually in teraterm and see in device manager (COM4 in my case). Can I fix the script somehow to make it work automatically, how it should be?What data do you need to help me with that?I'm not strong enough in windows bash scripting. There's full script log if I'll remove "rem" before "echo on" at the start.C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>SET DIR_MYSCRIPT=C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm\   C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>call :getport COMPORT   C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>FOR /F "tokens=4 USEBACKQ" %F IN (`mode | find " COM"`) DO ( echo %F if %F NEQ CON: SET COMPORT=%F )   C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>echo Return : COMPORT Return : COMPORT   C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>rem GOTO :EOF   C:\STM32SecuWS\Tools\teraterm>GO

In touchgfx software....In Display Board...... Is there is any way so that I can fix it....?

this is the swv setting. but I click resume button, the swv data trace timeline graph don`t respone.

So I tried creating a box in the buttoncallback function as follows : touchgfx::Box * box_temp = new touchgfx::Box();    box_temp->setPosition(170,180,500,220);    box_temp->setColor(touchgfx::Color::getColorFrom24BitRGB(255,255,255));    box_temp->setVisible(true);    add(*box_temp);    box_temp->invalidate();but on pressing the button the app freezes. When tried to debug on trying to allocate memory using new the control reaches onhardfault_handler(){}Any suggestions?

I'd like to validate that a given wireless firmware image will install before attempting to erase the existing wireless firmware stack (we have external storage via SPI that we download updates into). Since the firmware images are signed so that the FUS stack can validate the firmware images, I was wondering if the signature is in plaintext such that you can validate the image with the existing file format without needing the decryption key (which is inside the FUS image). That requires the following properties:The public key used to sign the images is publicThe header and/or footer of the images are in plaintextOtherwise, I can just wrap in my own format if required but was hoping the existing file format already covered this. Additionally, ideally there'd also be a signed plaintext portion of the image containing the image details (version information, and stack type). Thanks in advance!

When I try to using STM32CubeMonitor-UCPD software with X-CUBE-USB-PD and ON-FUSB3-STM32, VCP does not appear on the laptop. I cannot see any connected board on the software.I already installed STM32CubeMonitor-UCPD and USB driver for ST-LINK.And, downloaded X-CUBE-USB-PD project on ON-FUSB3-STM32.Is there any required modification on X-CUBE-USB-PD project? for using STM32CubeMonitor-UCPD with ON-FUSB3-STM32.

I am using the STM32H745 dual core MCU, and the CM7 can be run correctly, but the CM4 go to the Hard fault immediately, I set a breakpoint at the start of main() but can't capture it. Then I set a breakpoint at Reset_Handler in the startup file (startup_stm32h745iitx.s), it can't be captured either. Why it could hanppened and what should I do to fix it?

Hi, I have a Nucleo F439ZI board and I am running a custom bootloader and application on it. My Clock config =In Bootloader I am using HSE external crystal (ST-link MCO 8MHz) for all peripheral clock which includes 48MHz clock for USB OTG FS in DFU mode. In Application I am using HSI internal 16MHz oscillator for all peripheral clock and FreeRTOS.When I jump from bootloader to application everything works good until I use the CAN bus. As I send the CAN frames from PC to Nucleo board using Kvaser and DCA2617A board, I see Error Frames randomly. If I increase the frequency of messages then the bus gets loaded with error frames only. When I do the same CAN test without any changes in hardware and just one change in software -- change the custom bootloader clock to HSI internal -- then everything works perfectly fine and I don't see any Error Frames. Can someone suggest what should I de-init in bootloader code before jumping to application. Thanks,

HiI'm currently using STM32CubeMX for STM32H743ZITx.However, I can't enable LWIP function. (Categories -> Middleware -> LWIP)Previously on STM32F429, I could use LWIP, but I can't even enable the function on this series. Can anybody help me with this?Thank you in advance.

Hi,Please show the accuracy of the temperature as a concrete number. For example, ± x ° C.I know the accuracy is not guaranteed, but I think there is a certain range of limits if it is not abnormal.Regards,Mitsu

I have heard the ST25DV can be used to upgrade the Firmware of any STM32 Microcontroller. I would like to understand how this is done. Also how the PINs needs to be connected to the STM32. Or is the code transfered via I2C? If so, how does the STM32 know where to place the code? I need general information about this topic. Maybe someone could let me know where to find information (best practices etc.)many thanks in advanceBaris Yilmaz is talking about, see 1:12 (i cant understand the name, he is talking too fast ...)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0895kgTPO0
