Hello everyone. I was trying to implement the 6 Step PWM using STM32F411RE Nucleo board to drive a BLDC motor via 3 half bridges. Each half bridge was driven by signals from TIM1, using 3 of it's channels along with their complementary output for HIN and LIN of IR2110.TIM1_CH1 is located at PA8 for this board. This pin is shows continuity towards the 5V and U5V pins. The voltage for PA8 in reference to GND is around 2.8V. I have tried almost everything including disabling the TIM1, disable the GPIO pins, setting the PA8 as analog pin, disabling the peripheral clock, disable MCO, cleared MODER and AFR, tried NVIC_SystemReset, RCC clock reset, Timer Reset, shorted BOOT0 and VDD - power cycling the board, lastly I also pulled NRST low, did all of these separately, but still it showed a short between PA8 and 5V-U5V pins. This pin worked fine before. It was only after I accidentally set LOCK to level 2 in BDTR register of TIM1 that I saw weird behaviour from this TIM1 Channe

I am using STM32F103C8T6 MCU and STM32CubeIDE ver 19.0.0. When i enabled PA8- PWM generation Channel 1 i get warning RCC Mode and Configuration Tab: Master Clock Output as a error/warning. I have reset state the PA8 pin again enabled as TIM1_CH1 and Tim1 setting Channel 1 : PWM generation CH1 again same error/warning i have get. when generated code closly monitored i didnot find and MCO related code in main.c. What to do? should i ignore cubeMX warning/error and relay on generated code?
Hello, recently I made a board for a project and was planning to flash firmware with ST-LINK/V2. However, when I wanted to flash a test program I got a message from Console:Target no device foundError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target. I checked all the connections and VDD pins with decoupling caps and looks like everything is properly connected. Yet still I don't understand what is the reason of not connecting. Schematic of the project:Physical connections:Attached as connections.jpeg I upgraded ST-LINK tool to the latest version and the MCU I am using is STM32G474CET3ST-LINK/V2 model: B202533Most of the design is just copied from the Reference design STM32G4 Series document.Any help is highly appreciated.
Hi everyone, I'm using the NUCLEO-H7S3L8 to try to comunicate with a BOS1921 device using the I3C protocol. To get practice i'm trying to read form the Register Map in 6.10 (see the datasheet). Using some example codes from this link https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an5879-introduction-to-i3c-for-stm32h5-series-mcu-stmicroelectronics.pdf and this https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Getting_started_with_I3C . from the example code that i made i try to give the bos1921 a adres, after that i try to read from the Register 0x02 and expect a value of 0x046A in return. but everytime it looks like it's the value from register 0x1E, that is the CHIP_ID. Even trying to read other registers i get the same result.Any idea what I'm doing wrong trying to read? Buffers i made:I3C_XferTypeDef aContextBuffers[2]; /* Buffer used for transmission */ uint8_t aTxBuffer[2]; uint8_t aRxBuffer[2]; uint8_t readAdre
Hello,I am setting up a P-NUCLEO-LRWAN3 kit and experiencing issues with serial communication to the end node.Initially, when connecting the board to Tera Term / PuTTY, I could see boot messages, but I was unable to send any commands (no echo or response when pressing Enter). I am trying to retrieve the DevEUI, AppEUI, and AppKey.After checking the user manual, I found the section stating that:USART1 (PA9/PA10) is used by defaultUSART2 (PA2/PA3) can be used optionally by configuring solder bridgesSB62 & SB63 closedSB13 & SB14 opened (to disconnect STM32 UART from ST-LINK)I reconfigured the board accordingly (opened SB13/SB14 and closed SB62/SB63).However, after this change, I no longer receive any boot messages at all on the serial terminal.Probably, there is something I am doing wrong; I need help on how to completely set up the Pnucleo Lrwan 3 kit (The end node-gateway-network server-application server)
Hi, I have brought 2 STlinkV3MODS. Hi everyone,I am migrating from STM32CubeIDE to VS Code using the official STM32Cube for VS Code extension (v3.4.11 pre-release). While I can build and debug my project, I am struggling to get the Live Watch feature to work.My Environment:IDE: VS Code with the latest STM32 official extension.Hardware: Nucleo board with onboard ST-LINK V3.MCU: STM32H7 series.Project Structure: Generated via STM32CubeMX as a CMake project.Project Name: projectBlink. The Issue: In the "STM32CUBE LIVE WATCH" tab, I constantly see the message: "There is no data provider registered that can provide view data.".What I've tried:Code: I declared my variable as volatile uint8_t count = 0; to prevent compiler optimization.Debug Session: I am in an active debug session using the STM32 Cube GDB Server.Adding Variables: When I click the "+" icon and enter the variable name, nothing happens, and the "no data provider" error persists.Version Check: I noticed some community posts suggesting that the v3.x pre-release mig
Hi everyone, I've setup a project in TouchGFX4.18.1 and STM32H747i Disco, which consist of 4-5 screens. One screen is for motor control. In this motor control screen 3 buttons are used (low, medium, high) for changing the PWM. Simple but, the virtual function at the model (MVP) is calling the wrong Function. The funny thing is, the order that a function is placed in the .HPP yields that the function to be called in model and it's not the correct function. I've used breakpoints throughout MVP, and all was validated as making the incorrect/correct call. virtual void PWM_33(); (if PWM_33 is placed on the bottom, PWM_66 would be called for every button.) virtual void PWM_66(); (same as the above) virtual void PWM_75(); (same as the above) This is the third time I've made the to change to the buttons that only yield the same results. Otherwise, each function call reverts to the order in .HPP. This area (stepping from VIEW, Presenter to Model not possible
I'm using STM32CubeIDE Version 2.0.0 and would like to get the size of all the object files in my build. I know I can do this in Project Settings->C/C++ Build->Settings->Build Steps->Post-build steps->commands using arm-non-eabi-size, but what is the variable that expands to the names of the object files, and how do I use it?
I am working with an STM32N series MCU (STM32N657 / NUCLEO-N657X0-Q) and project generated with STM32CubeMX (Toolchain = Makefile). The workspace root contains:• GPIO_IOToggle.ioc• MakefileHowever, in VS Code (latest version) with STM32 VS Code Extension installed, the option “Setup STM32Cube project(s)” remains disabled (Greyed out). The project builds and debugs correctly when .vscode/launch.json is created manually, so the project itself is valid.Expected behavior:The extension should allow setup of existing CubeMX-generated Makefile projects, not only projects created via the extension or CLT.Environment:• macOS• STM32CubeMX (GUI)• STM32CubeCLT installed• VS Code latestThis appears to be a UX limitation or detection bug.
Hi. Unfortunately, after several days of struggling with USBX, I'm forced to ask for your help. I'm using custom boards with the STM32h503RB and STM32h563VI. I tested the old library according to forum guides – no response when connected to a PC. The closest I've gotten is following the guide for USBX C0. Windows recognizes the CDC device and assigns a COM port, but there's no response when attempting to open the port.USBX standalone, interrupt enabled, Clock 48MHz, CRS enabled, mempoll size 8*1024, stack size 6*1024https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43gcc2dGnxQ int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* USER CODE END SysInit */ /* Initi

Hi, I am using the STM32H755ZIT6 dual-core microcontroller. The internal Flash memory has a sector size of 128 KB and a page size of 4 KB. In my application, I perform erase and write operations on a specific Flash sector. If a power failure occurs while the erase or write operation is in progress, I occasionally observe that: The Flash sector being accessed becomes corrupted The sector cannot be read by the application The same sector also becomes inaccessible in STM32CubeProgrammer This issue does not occur every time and seems to happen randomly during power loss. After full chip erasing it I can access the sector region. I would like to understand: The possible reason for this Flash corruption during power failure Whether this behavior is expected for STM32H7 Flash memory Recommended software or hardware methods to avoid or recover from this situation Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hallo.I want to measure a pwm-signal (period 20ms, Puls 1,5ms +- 0,5ms)I made a assembler program to capture the positive and negative transitions of the signal according the RefManual RM0016, Rev14, page 170.I tried various versions but the negative transition is never captured, TIM1_CCR2 contains the period value or 0. TIM1CCR1 contains the period value as expected.where is my fault ?Please support.SincerelyChristianstm8/ ;************************************************************************ ; TITLE: fsm1.asm ; AUTHOR: SCh, 25 10 01 SCh ; Copyright 2015- , Dipl.-Ing.Christian Schmid, A-4973 St.Martin ; DESCRIPTION: Funkschaltmodul ; ; 0.10, 24 07 24 SCh, erster Test ? ; 0.13, 25 11 11 SCh, ; 0.14, 25 11 12 SCh, ;************************************************************************ ;Macros ;---------------------- #include "mapping.inc" #include "STM8S105x.asm" ;<- verwendeter uC K4 ;Konstante (bytes) BYTES FREQ EQU 2 ;=fmaster=fosz/CLK_CKDIVR NSER EQU 8 ;Anzahl

Strange things are happening: I'm running STM32CubeIDE under macOS 15.7.2 (I must admit it is OCLP Sequoia). A couple of minutes ago I was able to open .ioc files in my project - not sure whether that was before the upgrade. Nowthe .ioc are upper strip blue, lower half green. What does that mean? When I invoke the .ioc by double click, it switches over to my Windows VM (Parallels) and fires up CubeMX there (a very old version). When the VM is not running, STM32CubeIDE does nothing. The .ioc is not opened like I was used to before. I'm now updating. I'm puzzled.
Hi everyone!Could someone help me to understand a problem with STM32G070.We have deployed approx. 50-60 devices with stm32g070 MCU that saves some parameters in FLASH every 24 hours. I know that according to datasheet FLASH memory endurance for this MCU is 1000 cycles. So, in theory, this MCU can work normally 2.7 years. It is also worth to mention that this period is defined for temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Recently, we had a relative cold weather with a temperature ranging from 0 to -10°C. This is far from -40°C that we see in datasheet. However, we had 5-6 devices that have corrupted parameters area (last page from 128K FLASH memory).I was able to reproduce this situation in the office. So I wanted to ask you guys if you had such a strange behavior with this MCU or another one. I need to mention also that this board is coated with special waterproof-coating.Erase and program functions looks like that:HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); uint32_t defectPages; FLASH_EraseInitTypeDef EraseInitSt
Dear ST Community Members,I bought X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 (497-X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1-ND) and X-NUCLEO-67W61M1 (497-X-NUCLEO-67W61M1-ND) along with NUCLEO-STM32F411RE from Digikay. I have raised concerns with both Digikey and ST Support about both the X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1 and X-NUCLEO-67W61M1 boards have been sent to me without possibly having stack and firmware pre-installed on them.I am assuming this because the firmware executing on STM32F411 is reporting error when executing hci_init() when communicating with BLUENRG-M2SP on X-NUCLEO-BNRG2A1. I have tried both with CPHA = 2 Edge with CPOL = High (returns error 66) and CPHA = 2Edge with CPOL = Low (returns error 255). The J10 (1-2), J15 (1-2), and J14 (2-3) pins are shorted using female jumpers (one per J port). As I am in between jobs and cannot invest money, I am unable to buy the NUCLEO board with STM32L476RG for which some examples (like Virtual COM port) are given. Using STM32CubeMX I did create a VIRTUAL-COM port project fo
Hi, I'm currently working on a project with an H755 board. The project uses UART communication. I'm developing it on a Windows 11 computer, and it generally works fine on that computer. So far, there are no issues. However, after completing the project, I'd like to be able to use it on my older laptop (currently running Windows 10 with ESU). Here's the problem: my Windows 10 computer doesn't recognize the STLink virtual COM port. It only sees the device as a standard COM port with a Microsoft driver (not ST Microelectronics), and its UART communication then doesn't work.I don't have CubeIDE installed on my laptop. I don't need it on this computer. Should I install the driver manually? If so, where can I find it? Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
1.AN5959 for STM32H523 has a note PB8/PB9 Not available for LQFP48, UFQFN48, WLCSP39.LQFP64 is not mentioned there but it has only PB8 pin and no PB9 pin. That makes it unusable by boot loader. So why it is not included in the note?My question is if the PB8 pin is still taken over by boot loader (maybe all packages use the same one)?Is there a reliable rule for partial missing IO and boot loader? What am I missing here?2. Another potential problem is that some pins for smaller packages are remapped which is noted in AN5959, but AN2606 does not always mention the alternative pin so it is dangerous to rely on that document alone. And not obvious you have to check others like AN5959 AN5711 to be sure.
Just installed eDSim 9.2 and on first run it stalls at 45% Looks like SIMetrix.exe is the problem. Tried running as admin, reinstalling without success. Suggestions?
When I run build in a VSCode Dev Container with STM32CubeIDE installed, the build fails and i receive an error stating arm-none-eabi-gcc and arm-none-eabi-g++ was not found in the PATH. The compilers are installed, I see them inside the bundles folder (under /root/.local/share/stm32cube/bundles/), the extension is just not picking them up.This was previously working in a separate container but I can't seem to replicate it.
I am starting use of UM3029 Rev 3 (STM32C0 HAL drivers) and trying ensure I use HAL_SYSCONFIG_SetPinBinding properly (important because the 6 usable IO pins are multiply bonded to device peripheral pads.)I am working with STM32C011J6 (SO8 package) and am using STM32CubeMX and HAL to create example device support code (i.e., drivers.)UM3029 Rev 3 section 6 (HAL System Driver) takes me to section 6.2.1 (HAL Bind Pin Config) which has a listing for some device package/pin assignments for GPIO (my current task is to get a pin working as GPIO input), however, the list does not include any defines for SO8 package. The instruction I'm currently trying to verify (generated by STM32CubeMX for my project) is HAL_SYSCFG_SetPinBinding(HAL_BIND_SO8_PIN5_PA8), but there are others and I'd like to fully understand the utility of this function and it's arguments.I looked in UM3029 Rev 3 for a listing of allowed arguments to SetPinBinding for C0 series SO8 package in UM3029 and came up empty hande
