Tried running DMA with ADC simultaneously by configuring both in CubeMX, but I am not getting correct ADC values in the buffer. The sin wave from the signal generator is completely distorted. The ADC works individually without the DMA by filling the buffer through interrupts. The DMA is configured in circular mode. I even tried running the sample code of ADCgainCompensation from ST(modified a little to get values in a buffer), but had no success.
HelloI am trying to drive a MEMS mirror via I2C communication using the nucleo-h723zg board. This is the clock configuration: Then I activated the I2C1 as follow: I used the pins PB8 and PB9 for SCL and SDA:I'm using the DAC called MCP47x6A0T, so the address should be:static const uint8_t DAC_Address= 0x60; Then I give an input data:static const uint8_t MEMS_Digital_Input2= 0x1C;and then I use the function Master Transmit in the while loop:HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit(&hi2c1, DAC_Address, MEMS_Digital_Input2, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY);I've this circuit connected to the microcontroller: Using an oscilloscope and a multimeter I'm always measuring 0V and I can't see the SCL and SDA signals.Do you know where am I doing wrong?Kind regards
Hi and happy new year... I'm a complete beginner, and I'm facing a major problem.I've tried creating a new project in CubeID for an STM32F401CEUx.But the project "STM32 Project" doesn't appear in the list of new projects. The closest thing I find is one called "STM32CubeIDE Empty Project," and when I create a project using this template, the initial image of the chip where I configure the pins doesn't appear, and the IoT file isn't in the project tree either. Why could this be?
Hi,I am working with the STM32N6570-DK board. Initially, I am using the GPIO_IOToggle example project to verify the basic board functionality.I configured the hardware using STM32CubeMX v6.16 and generated the project using the STM32CubeIDE toolchain. The project was built successfully using STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0.When I run the project in debug mode from CubeIDE, the LED toggles correctly. However, the device does not boot when I flash the binary manually using STM32CubeProgrammer v2.21.0. Signing and Flashing DetailsI am using the following command to sign the output binary generated by CubeIDE:STM32_SigningTool_CLI -bin <path to fsbl project.bin file> -nk -t fsbl -hv 2.3 \-o <path to fsbl project-trusted.bin file> \-dump <path to fsbl project-trusted.bin file> -align After generating the trusted binary, I flash it at address 0x70000000 using STM32CubeProgrammer.Boot ConfigurationBOOT0 switch: position 1–2BOOT1 switch: position 1–3After flashing the trusted bi
Hello,I am using the STM32U5G9ZJTXQ with TouchGFX on a 4.3-inch display (480×272). The display works fine, but the touch is not working. The touch controller IC is GT911.
Hello,I'm facing very strange issues with STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0 under Linux Debian Trixie/Forky.I'm running Kernel 6.17.11+deb14-amd64 with Plasma 6.5.4, KDE Framework 6.20.0 and QT version 6.9.2 in Wayland.First issue is with debugger. I can start the firmware in debugging mode, runs but after few "Step Into" and "Step Over" commands the debugger is getting stuck. I doesn't take any commands anymore. If I use "Restart" or "Terminate" or "Terminate and Relaunch" is starting again and again I can use few times "Step Into" and "Step Over" Second issue is with windows ordering after using for a while STM32CubeIDE: it breaks completely the windows orders under Plasma and the only solution is to logout and login back and restart all apps.I didn't get this issue with any other apps, except STM32CubeIDE.
Hello ST Team, We are using the STEVAL-MKI109V3 as the motherboard and STEVAL-MKI208V1K (IIS3DWB vibration sensor) as the daughter board. We currently communicate using the USB virtual COM port at 115200 baud and send ASCII commands such as: *SETDB208V1 *ZOFF *W10A2 *DEBUG *STOP These commands work correctly over USB. Objective: We would like to print the data serially using the same commands, but over Bluetooth, not USB. The accessory board STEVAL-MKI115V1 is no longer available in the market. We tried using an HC-05 Bluetooth UART module, connecting it to BT_TX and BT_RX (J9 connector), but it did not work, so the default MKI109V3 firmware support UART input/output on the BT_TX / BT_RX pins ? Can we connect a standard Bluetooth SPP module (HC-05 or similar) to BT_TX / BT_RX and send the same ASCII commands (*SETDB208V1, etc.) wirelessly? Or is USB the only supported communication interface in the default firmware for command parsing and data streaming? Any guidance or doc
Hi everybodyI need some help to identify this ST micro diode , can anybody point me in the right direction please?I have tried searching for the numbers on the diode with no luck.regardswasim
Hey Folks, Description:I am using STM32N6570-DK with Azure RTOS (ThreadX + FileX) to store camera frames on an SD card using SDMMC2.Use case:Capture camera frames (RGB565, 320×240) using DCMIPPDisplay frames via LTDCContinuously write frames to SD card using fx_file_write()Issue:Small file read/write (text file) works correctly. When continuously writing video frames (~153 KB per frame), FileX fails after 2–3 frames.FileX returns FX_IO_ERROR (144).Failure occurs during media flush / directory update, not directly in application code. Configuration:From fx_stm32_sd_driver.h:#define FX_STM32_SD_DMA_API 1#define FX_STM32_SD_CACHE_MAINTENANCE 0#define FX_STM32_SD_MAX_TRANSFER_SECTOR 16#define FX_STM32_SD_DEFAULT_SECTOR_SIZE 512FX_STM32_SD_WRITE_CPLT_NOTIFY() waits on a ThreadX semaphore
Hello,i have a STM32F114 (Black Pill V3.0) and a strange timer problem. We all know that when setting the APB1 clock divisior is > 1, the APB1 timers gets twice as fast (2x, TIMPRE bit is not set). However, my timers are 4x when the divisor is > 2 (RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV4, RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV8, ...). It doesn't matter if i use HSI, HSE or PLL as sys clock source. My timer interrupt is twice as fast compared to a APB1 divisor of 1 or 2:APB1 divisor = 1: timer interrupt each 0.1 ms (10 KHz)APB1 divisor = 2: timer interrupt each 0.1 msAPB1 divisor = 4: timer interrupt each 0.05 ms (20 KHz)...I checked different frequencies (16 MHz, 48 MHz and 100 MHz sysclock). AHB and APB2 divisors are 1. I used two STM32F114 devices for testing. I double checked everything. Code:// reset state assumed, HSI is 16 MHz unsigned long cfgr = RCC->CFGR; cfgr = (cfgr & ~RCC_CFGR_HPRE) | RCC_CFGR_HPRE_DIV1; // AHB clock = 16 MHz cfgr = (cfgr & ~RCC_CFGR_PPRE1) | RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV8; // AP
Hello! Quick question about ST patches for MbedTLS 3.6.5 (stm32-mw-mbedtls).Why was the defined(MBEDTLS_MD_SOME_PSA) added here (in library/md.c)?When MBEDTLS_PSA_CRYPTO_C is defined, the only way to define MBEDTLS_MD_SOME_PSA is to define one of MBEDTLS_PSA_ACCEL_ALG_XXX which, I think, is an internal macro of MbedTLS. Should I just remove the patch or does it serve a purpose? Would it be better to define MBEDTLS_PSA_ACCEL_ALG_XXX?#if defined(MBEDTLS_PSA_CRYPTO_CLIENT) && defined(MBEDTLS_MD_SOME_PSA) int mbedtls_md_error_from_psa(psa_status_t status) { return PSA_TO_MBEDTLS_ERR_LIST(status, psa_to_md_errors, psa_generic_status_to_mbedtls); } #endif /* MBEDTLS_PSA_CRYPTO_CLIENT and MBEDTLS_MD_SOME_PSA */Thank you in advance.

Hello,I'm facing a issue with DMA2D to blend some images. From the naming ARGB means that the order of the colors should be Alpha, Red, Green and Blue. But if I have a PNG file which contains my image with Alpha, how I have to convert to a static image for my MCU to be able to work correctly with it with DMA2D?Normally PNG is using RGBA format in big-endian. But if I'm converting this file to ARGB format and try to blend it over another image, it will work? Also I'm confused with endianess, because I know that ARM normally is using little-endian.Which is the best approach to load the image?A struct like this:typedef struct { uint8_t A: 8; uint8_t R: 8; uint8_t G: 8; uint8_t B: 8; } ARGB_TypeDef; typedef struct { const uint16_t width; const uint16_t height; ARGB_TypeDef *data; } FCU_Labels_TypeDef;Should work with DMA2D which requires uint32_t data for source and destination? Thanks.
Hello ST Community,I am writing to report a serious regression in STM32CubeMX 6.16.0 running on Arch Linux (KDE Plasma) with a 1920x1080 resolution.Environment:OS: Arch Linux (Rolling)Java: OpenJDK 25Desktop: KDE Plasma (Wayland/X11)Screen Resolution: 1920x1080The Regression (Comparison):1. STM32CubeMX 6.15.0 (Previous Version):Status: Works perfectly out-of-the-box.Details: I did not need to modify any configuration files or set any environment variables. The application launched correctly, the UI was usable, and the window could be resized and maximized without issues.2. STM32CubeMX 6.16.0 (Current Version):Status: Unusable / Broken.Details:The default UI rendering has issues (fonts are tiny or behavior is inconsistent). When trying to fix it using standard scaling methods (e.g., _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dsun.java2d.uiScale=2" or GDK_SCALE=2), the window management breaks. The window refuses to maximize, enter full screen, or resize properly. It seems internal window constraints have been chang
We are using STM32U5G9's I2C with a diff-I2C to single ended I2C converter IC PCA9616. PCA9616 is used to program the STM32 MCU over I2C1 by converting diff-I2C to single ended I2C.However, while probing the I2C1 of the STM32U5G9, we are seeing negative overshoot and level shifting on it. It seems like MCU is taking control of the I2C while in the slave mode. See I2C_SCL_waveform1.pngAlso, we have tried disabling I2C1 of the MCU (by configuring it as a GPIO input only), by doing this we are able to mitigate the negative overshoot problem. I think the problem is with MCU, looks like it is taking control even if it is a SLAVE. See I2C_SCL_waveform2.jpgKindly let us know the exact reason and how to mitigate this issue.
Hello,We are currently using the STM32G070CBT6 microcontroller in one of our data logger devices, which operates on a three-phase power supply and is used in a transformer application. In our design, the microcontroller triggers a relay, and the relay controls a contactor. We are facing an issue where the STM32G070CBT6 is continuously rebooting during normal operation, which is affecting the overall functionality and reliability of the product. For your reference, we have attached the reset circuit schematic used in our design. We kindly request you to review the schematic and help us identify the possible causes of the continuous reboot behavior. Please let us know if any additional information, measurements, or test data are required from our side to assist in the analysis. Thank you for your support.
Hi Team,I was working on STM32F103C8T6 Bluepill board. I was using this board with ST-LinkV2 to connect with CubeIDE. When i tried to flash a sample LED blink program via CubeIDE, it gave an error saying 'Target not found'. But at the same time i was able to connect this board via cube programmer using same ST-Link and write sample LED code into the board. I have also tried to put the board into DFU mode by changing BOOT0 to 1 and connected with a usb cable to my linux machine. when i tried 'lsusb' it didnt show DFU mode status of the board. Please help me to resolve this issue.
Hi.I'm having an issue with the error: failed to erase memory on STM32F407.I'm using the board https://github.com/mcauser/BLACK_F407VEand the debugger https://github.com/WeActStudio/WeActStudio.MiniDebugger.and the original STM32F407VET6 chip.Yesterday there was no issue, but today when I tried to continue my project, the problem appeared. I have set the SWD frequency from Auto to 100 kHz. At some point, it worked with BT0 = 0 and BT1 = 0 after several attempts of pressing the reset button before starting the debug. I have replaced the debugger twice and tried it on the same chip type on a different board, and it worked. However, it did not work on the chip on my project board. I tried it with the STM32Programmer, and the same problem occurred—it could not erase during download. Strangely, full chip erasure could be done, and the connection was normal with no issues.STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Version 7.12.0 Copyright (c) 2025, STMicroelectronics. Hello everyone,I am working with an STM32H7 device using the DSI host interface and would like some clarification regarding supported display resolutions. As per the STM32H7 datasheet, it is mentioned that:“Extended resolutions beyond the DPI standard maximum resolution of 800×480 pixels; the maximum resolution is limited by the available DSI physical link bandwidth.”Based on this statement, I would like to confirm the following:Can a 640×480 display be reliably connected to the STM32H7 using the DSI interface? Are there any practical limitations related to DSI lane count, lane speed, or refresh rate that would prevent using 640×480, even though it is below 800×480?Has anyone successfully driven a 640×480 display (at 60 Hz or other refresh rates) on STM32H7 using DSI + LTDC?Is the limitation purely bandwidth-based, or are there additional constraints in the STM32 DSI/LTDC implementation?Attaching the clock configuration of STM32CubeMX of DSI.Any insights, calculations, or real-world expe
Hello,I am using the VENC_RTSP_Server example located iSTM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_N6_V1.2.0\Projects\STM32N6570-DK\Applications\VENCThis example shows how to use the VENC block and stream H.264 video through RTP/RTSP using Ethernet.I want to send the encoded H.264 video stream to another controller through SPI instead of RTP/RTSP.My questions are:1. What is the input data format of the H.264 encoder (VENC)? Is it receiving YUV420/NV12 from DCMIPP, or some other format?2. Is there an API in the VENC example that allows access to the encoded H.264 bitstream buffer (pointer + size), before it is sent through the RTSP server?3. Is there any example or documentation that shows how to use the H.264 encoder output without RTP/RTSP? For example: Camera → DCMIPP → VENC(H264) → SPII only need to sending the encoded H.264 data through SPI to another controller.Thank you!
I am trying to source a 12.288MHz clock for an STM32L433 but having difficulties finding something. The clock is required for I2S playback with a bluetooth receiver (BT401).I have tried using the internal MSI RC to generate the 12.288MHz clock for SAI, but the BT401 is misbehaving so it might be because the MSI RC clock has too much jitter.I was wondering if a ASFL1-12.288MHZ-EC-T would be suitable for the clock source for the SAI external clock input....https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crystal-oscillators/2403583Below is the setup... The I2S amplifier (MAX98357A) seems to work fine with the 12.288MHz clock generated by the internal MSI RC and PLL. But the BT401 either requires multiple attempts to start playing and sometimes plays just a screeching sound for a few seconds then stops. So I need to rule out whether the issue is caused by clock jitter by trying a more accurate clock source. I am currently using the STM32L433 Nucleo board whi
An intermittant bug... (as it happens it doesn't occur as I am reporting this issue).Open up a STM32CubeIDE project.Navigate to a project Source Folder, e.g. XYX...Core...SrcHighlight a source file, e.g. "main.c",right-click "Copy", right-click "Paste". Click "Ok" to the suggested filename "main2.c".Double-click "main2.c" to edit it, You can't cut or modify any text in the file, nor type in any new text.Close STM32CubeIDE and launch it again... the file is now editable. The bug appears perhaps 2% of the time, not a deal breaker but a bit annoying.
I created a support ticket for this issue but haven't heard back yet, but I wondered if anyone else has seen this issue before. I have been having an issue with my STLINK-V3MINIE for some time now. When I set and hit a breakpoint, the program will often not start again no matter what I do. I am using arm-none-eabi-gdb with OpenOCD to debug a STM32H750, and will set a breakpoint or watchpoint in my code, and once it is hit, I am not able to get the target to continue again using "continue" or "step" commands in gdb. Even after deleting the breakpoint, the issue will remain and the only way to get the target to respond normally again is to reset the program with "monitor reset halt". The image I attached shows hitting a breakpoint, deleting the breakpoint, then not being able to continue I tried upgrading the firmware on my STLINK-V3MINIE, this did not fix it. It is an official STLINK-V3MINIE that I bought from ST, not a clone.Things that I tried that did not work as advised by
