Hello,I am currently working with the STEVAL-L99615C evaluation kit and the Nucleo G071RB microcontroller board. My goal is to set up a LabVIEW program that can:1. Adjust the output voltages of power supplies to simulate real battery cells.2. Read data measured by the evaluation kit (e.g., cell voltages). For this, I need to learn the basics of communication with the evaluation kit, such as reading and writing to registers (e.g., reading VCELL1_MEAS from register 0x04).Steps Taken So Far1. I successfully connected the evaluation kit to the provided STSW-L99615C GUI, and it works as expected for executing scripts and reading data.2. I attempted manual serial communication with the Nucleo G071RB using PuTTY:Port Settings:Baud Rate: 9600 (also tried 115200)Data Bits: 8Parity: NoneStop Bits: 1Flow Control: NoneCommands Attempted:READ 0x04READ 4READ 4\nREAD 0x04\n However, I did not receive any response from the board in PuTTY. Additionally, I observed that my keystrokes wer
I want to debug my board on Vscode, But I cannot find openocd scripts now. Without openocd scripts, how can I debug my board?
My name is Jeongsoo Lee. We are using the L9961 (BMS IC) and have configured the circuit using the L99615C development board to establish a basic framework. However, our battery solution requires a 3-series configuration. The datasheet and development report guide connecting from cell 1, but there is no information on handling the remaining cell 4 and 5 pins. I also have additional questions regarding whether the entire circuit ground should be connected to C0. Our specific questions are: Should the C4 and C5 pins be left floating, or should they be grounded?Should the entire ground of the BMS IC and MCU be connected based on C0? When debugging our BMS board based on the L99615C circuit (5 cells to 3 cells) using the STSW-L9961BMS code, we are encountering an issue where Cells 1 to 3 are read in reverse order. Is this expected behavior? When applying 3V to Cells 1 to 3 using a cell simulation device, the measured voltage differs from the actual voltage. Th
Hey guys.. new here.. I’m building a small STM32F103 board to read temp and pressure sensors… prototype works fine on breadboard but now want to make PCB..Problem is.. I tried to route VCC and GND planes in KiCad, but when I refill copper zones some areas near STM32 pins stay unconnected.. DRC shows some warnings for vias too..Should I place more vias near STM32 or maybe change copper zone settings?? Also decoupling caps.. some are far from pins because of routing.. will that cause issues?? I’m little worried about noise and stability.. never made 2-layer pcb with stm32 before..
Hi, I have an STM32H7S78-DK board and am working on encryption. I’ve looked at the example files for STiROT_OEMuROT: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH7RS/tree/main/Projects/STM32H7S78 -DK/ROT_Provisioning/STiROT_OEMuROTI’ve tried that out, and now I’d like to generate my own keys, but what I’m missing are the OEMuROT_Data.obk and STiROT_Data. obk files. I can generate the OEMuROT_Config.obk and STiROT_Config.obk files with their corresponding XML files using STM32TrustedPackageCreator_CLI, but how do I generate the _Data. obk files? They don’t have any config files, and I can’t find anything online either. The batch script uses them, though, as you can see here: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH7RS/blob/main/Projects/STM32H7S78-DK/ROT_Provisioning/STiROT_OEMuROT/obkey_provisioning.batPlease help – do I need them? If so, how are they generated and where can I find the corresponding .xml file?
Hi all, I have reached the point of desperation, and I am all out of ideas how to get my STM32U031 project working.I designed a very simple PCB which has only a few components. I have attached the KiCad files in case it is helpful. I followed guidelines for decoupling capacitors and broke out the SWDIO and SWCLK pins. The issue I have is this: I can not program/connect to the chip over SWD. When I power the PCB from 3V, the first noticeable problem is GPIO PA3 goes high. You can notice that because that pin is connected to the gate of a mosfet which is used to switch some LEDs, so when it goes high, the LEDs turn on. It is especially strange because I put an external pulldown resistor on the pin, so the fresh unprogrammed MCU is driving it high for some reason. I also connected my ST Link to the PCB, but when I try to connect with any speed or reset settings, I see this error:02:27:47 : UR connection mode is defined with the SWrst reset mode02:27:47 : ST-LINK SN : 003B00
I am using a STM32WB05KZ of a custom PDB, and I can not read a correct value of Vbattery.I have programed the ACD (+DMA) usgin CubeMX. I use DMA to read the analog inputs:ADC_Conv_Cplt = 0; HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(&hadc1, value, 3); uint32_t start = HAL_GetTick(); while(ADC_Conv_Cplt==0){ //timeout if ((HAL_GetTick() - start) > 3000){//wait 3 seconds break; } }; HAL_ADC_Stop_DMA(&hadc1);According de manual, the formula for ADC converted data after calibration is the following: Code = Integer(4096/3.6 * VIN) [clamped at 4095]. The result of conversion from Vbat is 0x271, applying the formula I get 0,549V when the Vbat is 3V.I also use 2 analog inputs in PB2 and PB5 and nome of them read correctly. In other proyects with stm32l105 and stm32wl55 the DMA works. I sure I am doing something wrong...Can anybody help me?Edited to apply proper source code formatting - please see How to insert source code for future reference.
Hi,I have made up six boards and three of them had an unusually high standby current (35mA instead of 1mA).Eventually, when the IC was removed, we found Pins 5 & 6 of the removed IC were shorted internally (0.3R)They were also shorted to pin 45 with 3.7R. The other two boards are showing similar shorts. The board worked fine with a new MCU.Does anyone know what might cause this short?TIA,Patrick.
The sensor box pro is a neat device. If I use the CLI Example program and the USB cable, I can get 8000 data points per second, if I use a traditional C# program I get 8 data points per second. The CLI yields dat files, which can be read with a simple C# program, although why you would mix 6 and 4 data groups is beyond my skill set to understand, but it is easier to use than Python and MEMS Set. And it is easier to do the byte data in C#. (It took less time to write this program than I spent trying to get Python to work.)CLI Example makes me type enter to start. I have many ST.COM accelerometers all over the world and I am not going to type enter to start, but the main.cpp and main.h and the cmake lists file will not compile in CMAKE or Visual Studio. So I cannot fix the challenging feature. Could we get VS SLNX file and the C++ code for this program as part of the SLNX so it is easy to take out the enter statement and break the outpu
Dear al!i need your help, i design PCB use STM32H755ZIT6, i set up mode PWR_SMPS_1V8_SUPLLY_LDO via STM32CubeMX 6.12.1. I expect core M7's clock is 400Mhz, M4's clock is 200Mhz. I measure voltage after L2 is 1.8V, at each Vcap pin is 1.0V, The MCU warmed up to about 35 degrees Celsius and chip didn't run. can you share me my mistake, this is the first time which i handle with SMPS block
Hi,I’m trying to understand how the build setup works in VS Code.Could you advise where and how to configure VS Code so that .bin and .hex files are always generated when building both Debug and Release configurations? Is this controlled via CMake, or through one of the .json configuration files?Whichever approach is correct, could you also share the specific scripts or commands that need to be used?Thank you :)
I have a project that will be using the LIV4F chip. I downloaded and installed X-CUBE-GNSS1 but its description says it is for the LIV3F. Is it compatible with and will it function with the LIV4F chip? I will be using it on the STM32G474CEU6.Thanks!
I have been playing with the n6-dk for a while and today something unexpected happened. When I try to run the stock code provided in the model zoo services, the board flashes for a moment at startup and the debugger and the board become unresponsive (requiring power cycling).Another weird thing is that if I flash the code and connect the board to a power source the code seems to be running correctly. I tried with another desktop experiencing the same issue. I also tried to do a mass erase and fresh flashing of fsbl, source, and network code. This was not a problem before, for weeks I run the code with the board connected to my desktop, I have never seen the code crash like that (normally, if something in the code is wrong, I hit a fault and the board get stuck in a sig handler loop).Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Hello,is it possible to cascade multible STPM33 Chips? That means SPTM33 + Crystal as master -> two STPM33 CLKIN-> Last CLKOUT -> two STPM33 CLKIN
Hi,I'm currently trying to run an image classification AI on a STM32H747I-DISCO board with the B-CAMS-OMV camera module bundle, using my own dataset. I was told it's good practice to use the same sensor for dataset collection and the final application, so I want to collect the images for the dataset with the B-CAM-OMV camera module aswell.I've seen that the model zoo provides many applications for the DISCO, unfortunately no simple USB-Webcam. I found such an application in the deprecated FP-AI-VISION1 pack, but it seems that my DISCO is a newer model and has another LCD (MB1166-A09), which doesn't work with the FP-AI-VISION1 pack.Does anyone know of a similar up-to-date application for simple taking images or has a different solution?
Hello,I am using STM32H750ZB variant for an HMI custom project and I am using SDRAM via FMC.When I configure FMC in cubeide1.19.0, I can't see the FMC_NBL0 and FMC_NBL1.I can actually add these pins as GPIOs, but I can't define the AF as AF12_FMC.I know from the datasheet that this package supports it but I want your confirmation as I still don't have HW to test and don't want to change the package again and redo the HW.Thanks,Ayoub
Question moved from the knoowledge base article: How to use STLINK-V3 MCO output on Nucleo boards as a precise clock source for STM32 Hello, With this method, what level of accuracy (PPM) is expected ? Thank you and have a good day.
Hi Team, I am working with the STM32N6570-DK board and reviewing the available power measurement methodology. From what I understand, the current approach/documentation focuses on measuring only VDD_CORE power. My requirement is different: I want to measure the total MCU power using a JS220 Joulescope, not just the VDD_CORE domain. Specifically, I would like to understand: What is the recommended hardware measurement point on the STM32N6570-DK board to capture total MCU power? Is there a board jumper, shunt, or power rail that isolates the complete MCU supply path? If measuring only VDD_CORE is the officially supported method, what additional rails should be included to estimate total MCU power? Has ST validated any method for measuring full MCU consumption on this board, including CPU, NPU, internal memories, and essential MCU peripherals? Are there any precautions regarding ST-LINK, external memories, camera/display rails, or other board circuitry
Hi everyone, I am encountering a critical issue with the IWDG on an STM32U375 using STM32CubeMX v6.17.0 and a Segger J-Link Base. The scenario: I am testing the Watchdog behavior across Standby cycles. I have configured the Option Bytes via software to freeze the watchdog during low power modes: IWDG_SW: 1 (Software mode) IWDG_STOP_FREEZE: 0 (Counter stops in Stop mode) IWDG_STDBY_FREEZE: 0 (Counter stops in Standby mode) The Issue: When the system is in IWDG_STDBY_FREEZE mode, the following happens: The MCU wakes up from Standby correctly. I enter a test while(1) loop without refreshing the IWDG. At the exact moment the IWDG timeout should occur (10s), the MCU enters an unrecoverable state. No System Reset occurs. No HardFault_Handler is triggered. The CPU seems to be completely locked (Bus Lockup?). I tried to enable the IWDG Early Wakeup Interrupt (EWI) via NVIC, but HAL_IWDG_EarlyWakeupCallback() is never called before the crash. Contrast with RUN mode: If
I'm failing to enable that Interrupt using " LL_RTC_EnableIT_SSRU(RTC) " on STM32H33.Wakeup timer is set to interrupt every 24h (this is working).Alarm A is configured, but not enabled.Alarm B is not used.RTC is set to BCD mode only.Monitoring SSR register ( via "READ_REG(RTC->SSR)" ) I can see it's counting down from 0xFF ---> 0x00, periodically. Some Internet folks told me to enable TAMP Interrupt as well...and intercept TAMP IRQ handler instaead of RTC IRQ handler. It didn't work.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
Hello everyone, here are my questions:1. Is there any roadmap or community effort to add NeoChrom/GPU2D support to Zephyr?2. Has anyone successfully integrated the STM32 HAL GPU2D driver alongside Zephyr?3. Would it be possible to:- Initialize GPU2D using HAL in the Zephyr application- Patch Zephyr's LVGL Kconfig to expose Nema GFX options- Use LVGL's existing lv_draw_nema_gfx_stm32_hal.c backend4. Are there any technical blockers (interrupt conflicts, clock management, memory mapping) that would prevent this hybrid approach?I'm willing to contribute if there's guidance on the proper implementation approach.Thank you for any insights.
Hello, all my tools are updated to last ones, and software packages too. I start an empty project using X Cube FreeRtos 1.5 (just a default task). Play the soft with debug, and after a few seconds, press "Suspend" button to break the running program. Then, there are a lot of calls to vPortSetupTimerInterrupt function (port.c) in the call stack. The tick is by default 1ms and cpu clock to 250Mhz. Not sure that is normal? thanks for your help Laurent
Is FP32 forcing software kernels and preventing NPU acceleration? Hi,I am testing CIFAR-10 ResNet on STM32N6570-DK and I need help understanding a latency gap between two STEdgeAI generation flows.I used the same FP32 model as input:CPU-only generation flowCPU+NPU generation flowBoth flows generated C files and hex successfully, and both run correctly on target. However, the CPU+NPU build is significantly slower than CPU-only.What I would like ST to confirm:For STM32N6, can full FP32 ResNet graphs be truly accelerated on Neural-ART, or are they generally expected to run as software float kernels? Is it normal that CPU+NPU generation for FP32 can be slower than CPU-only generation? For real NPU acceleration, is calibrated INT8 mandatory in practice?Which exact generator settings should I use to ensure that most layers map to NPU kernels (and how to verify mapping from generated artifacts)?Observed latency:CPU-only flow: about 211 msCPU+NPU flow: about 439 msMy main question:Is this ex
Hi,I do not plan to use USB or CSI, and the board only receives 1.8V power. So, I asked how to connect the VDD33USB pin, and I was told to just connect it to GND. However, I have two more questions.I currently have the VDDA18USB and VDDA18CSI pins connected to 1.8V. Is it okay to leave them as they are, or would it be better to connect them to GND? (have to consider leakage in the Stop mode)Also, should I connect VDDCSI to GND as well? Thanks in advance.
Hi, will ST extend I-CUBE-LRWAN support to include the new MuRata LBAA0QB1SJ-TEMP-EVK? Or offer a ST board based on LBAA0QB1SJ-295? Any suggestion on how to reconfigure the current I-CUBE-LRWAN version to work on the new EVK? We were previously using B-L072Z-LRWAN1.
