I've bought a S2LP dev board STEVAL-FKI433V2 as I'm evaluating the S2LP for a product revamp.Because it will be used with a legacy system I want the receive side to completely bypass the packet decoding and output to GPIO - which seems to work to a point. My issue is that sensitivity is LOW. I don't have a setup to measure it directly, but I have a key fob transmitter outputting about -10dBm. Typically this gives me a working range of 50 feet, but using this eval board I get about 6 INCHES. I'm scoping the data from the GPIO and I can see bits dropping off from the packet after literally a few inches from the antenna.I'm not sure how much of the packet engine, rx timers, blanking etc is being used? The signal has a very short preamble of 010101, a single sync pulse then about 80 bits of 10kbps data after Manchester encoding so on-chip packet detection doesn't normally work very well. Can I use the S2LP this way?
Hi.Please can someone tell me whether Part No: M24LR04E-RMN6T/2 (RFID Transponder) is able to communicate with MiFare Desfire ?Application will be a custom designed PCB to be used as part of Prepaid payment system Thanks
In AN5041 Rev 5, pages 26-28, there is an example programming sequence for the STEVAL-IDP004V2 master and a device on a STEVAL-IDP003V1 using ST's customized protocol (a substitute for IO-LINK).Is there a manual or tutorial or resource page that goes through programming the boards and communicating with them with ST's customized protocol?
Hi all,As IQ samples are used in the direction-finding feature, I am wondering how I can extract the phase information from the sampled IQ data. I tried to extract the phase by arctan(Q/I), but it changed very quickly. Is this because of the low IF architecture in Rx mode? and where can I find the IF so I can propose a digital mixer on the IQ?Thanks,Jason
Has anyone in the community used the ST7540 PLM in an airport environment ? I am working on a FAA contract that requires PLC control of multiple lighting cabinets over a distance of 1 kilometer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated !
Hi, The current design requirements for a Fire Panel system, demand power line communication over a distance of more than 1.2 km. More than 254 devices (detectors) would be interfaced to the main control panel. Suggest possible feasible solution for the above mentioned design specifications and share the relevant files. Also please specify the baud rate that would be maintained for the specified suggestions. Thanks.
Hi, I'm currently learning how to create an IO-LINK device using the NUCLEO-G071RB and X-NUCLEO-IOD02A1 and configure it to operate in Transparent mode. I have already used simple SPI communication to adjust the register parameters within the L6364 to enable Transparent mode. I would like to ask, after setting up and enabling the SPI and UART pins during initialization, how should I write to the L6364 registers? Currently, besides pulling the 'SS' pin low, I also need to "DeInit" the UART before I can write to the registers. Is this the correct approach? Best regards, Dillon
Hi.,Good after noon., we are using LBEE5HY1MW-230 and WSM-BL241-ADA-008 wife+BLE module for Our Smart lock controller board adn Processor board, sometimes this module was disconnected/does nor Shows the Bluetoohth after Commission and decommission process?why? please explain?
We have purchased an ST60 development board for wireless data transmission. Where can I find more information about- We do not have an electrical circuit for the ST60 debug board, we need a circuit for connecting to an external control board. - We need a more detailed datasheet for the ST60A2G0 chip in order to have electrical characteristics, pinout, connection interfaces. - The main requirement for us is the transmission of a video stream. Perhaps you have solutions or suggestions on which protocol and interface we can transmit the video stream using coaxial connectors on the debug board.Could you send the datasheets by e-mail?Best regards,
I have seen some thread about this topic but it's still not clear to me.I'm using the x-nucleo-BNRG2A1 which embed a BNRG-M2SP. Is it possible to increase the ATT_MTU size ? for example in the sample example code we do a aci_gatt_exchange_config(connection_handle) but there is no way to change or initialize the ATT_MTU size.same thing with the BLUENRG-M0A which is 4.2 compliant.Regards,
Hello,Good day!We have a RS485 communication system and we are usign the ST485B, but we recently had an issue with a couple of PCBs(attached picture)We are using an external DC/DC converter as 5V power supply (attached schematic). I followed application guide to create the schematicThe component was damage in a very bad way, near of the power supply node, please could you review and give me some recommendations.Best regards,Heiner
Hi,Is there any information regarding whether there are internal clamping diodes to VDD and GND on the open-drain outputs (RP_1A5, RP_3A, ATTACH, ALERT, A_B_SIDE, GPIO) of the STUSB4500L device? If these outputs have external pull-up resistors that connect to a separate 3.3V supply that is always ON, and the STUSB4500L is off when the USB is disconnected (the device is powered by USB VBUS), what leakage currents can we expect to flow into the device?
Hello, I've designed a board based on the EVB schematics and layout. I need to output a frequency of 1250 MHz.I managed to make it work with the on-board 100 MHz oscillator, and it works well with 25 MHz external clock, but I can't find a way to use it with a 10 MHz clock...I tried both STW81200 GUI for EVB and STW81200 but I can't find a way to extract all registers table with the exported value... I would be interested for a complete register table to operate at 10 MHz input clock. Thanks
Im developing a custom board with a non ST microcontroller, the board has 6 mosfets and i wish to monitor them using ST's TSC1641 Is it possible to have 6 of the aforementioned sensors to monitor each mosfet? Also is the exposed pad at the center really to be left isolated or can it be connected to ground? If its possible to use the 6 devices in i3c how would the adress assignment look like? how would the devices know the assignment was to them? Ive left a0 and a1 connected to a 3 way solder bridge so i can place a shunt to power or ground in each
As noted here, AN4494 contains a figure which captures the prescribed test procedure as it appears on the SPI bus.The annotations in the figure (specifically, step 6) do not correspond to the test procedure, which also includes a 6-byte read in step 7. cc @Laurent LOUAZON
Hello!I am asking for help or advice from experienced colleagues. I am developing a device in which the STM32G030C8T6 microcontroller “catches-up” the upstream signal from the 74HC04 inverter with the TIM1 (CH2, as trigger source) timer and should give a pulse on another channel of the same timer (TIM1_CH1, Output Compare). To test the operation of the TIM1 timer, I activated TIM14 as a signal generator and supplied signals to TIM1 (line B) - with such an input signal to TIM1, its output (TIM1_CH1) works as expected and produces pulses with a Vmax above 2 volts. But if I apply an "external" signal from the inverter (line A), then for some reason the signal at the output from TIM1 becomes weak, at a level of 80...120 mV.
How can we increase the output power to 16dBm of S2-LP - in combination with the SigFox stack? In the SigFox_PushButton_Project we tried to set register PA_POWER8 to 0x01 to turn the output power up.StatusByte = SdkEvalSpiWriteRegisters(0x5A, 0x01, pcBuffer); Is this the right way how to do it? NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. We regularly review support cases and add any helpful ones here for all to benefit from.
What is the simplest way to set the power amplifier?Unfortunately the APIs require involvement with the PA ramps and index configurations.void S2LPRadioSetPALeveldBm(uint8_t cIndex, int32_t lPowerdBm) void S2LPRadioSetMaxPALevel(SFunctionalState xNewState) I'm trying a simple low level configuration: write( PA_POWER0, 0x00 ) // PA_POWER0 disable all features and select PA_LEVEL_1 slot write( PA_POWER1, 0x01 ) // PA_POWER1 = 29-2*dBm dBm=14 or write( PA_POWER1, 0x5B ) // PA_POWER1 = 29-2*dBm dBm=-31 That guess is based on the SigFox S2-LP driver and the data sheet. It doesn't work. Does this suggest the API to turn down the power in the SigFox drivers doesn't work? Or am I missing something about how these don't apply to CW mode or there's missing charge pump or SMPS voltage configurations?https://github.com/sigfox-tech-radio/sigfox-ep-rf-api-st-s2lp/blob/417f31d94d4a95266c61f6b75f1cfa34a7fffe7e/src/manuf/s2lp_rf_api.c#L661
Dear Community,I am using the STEVAL-IHP005V1 development platform and have some queries regarding the SPI communication protocol between the Application MCU and the Modem MCU (ST7540). I would appreciate your assistance in addressing the following questions:Clock Polarity and Clock Phase: Could you please provide the required clock polarity (CPOL) and clock phase (CPHA) settings for the host MCU to communicate with the ST7540 modem via SPI?Reading the Control Register: What is the correct sequence for reading the Control Register from the ST7540 modem? Specifically, what actions should the host MCU perform to accomplish this via SPI?Writing to the Control Register: What is the correct sequence for writing to the Control Register of the ST7540 modem? Please provide the necessary steps the host MCU should follow for this operation via SPI.Transmitting Data over Power Lines: What is the correct sequence for transmitting data over the power lines using the ST7540 modem? How should the hos
I am trying to receive calls when a device receives scan requests but I can not get the events to work;Meaning I want the hci_le_scan_request_received_event and/or aci_hal_scan_req_report_event calls to be called whenever there is a scan request. Or alternatively receive it via the UserEvtRx parameter given to hci_init.It looks like by default this is disabled, now I have tried setting the hci mask to events only but without result: uint8_t scan_reports_only[8] = { 0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x04,0x00,0x00 }; ret = hci_le_set_event_mask(scan_reports_only); if (ret != BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS) { APP_DBG_MSG(" Fail : hci_le_set_event_mask command, result: 0x%x \n", ret); } else { APP_DBG_MSG(" Success: hci_le_set_event_mask command\n"); } The call succeeds but makes no difference. Now I read it might be needed to call aci_hal_set_event_mask, but that call fails wherever I put it. ret = aci_hal_set_event_mask(0x00000001 /*ACI_HAL_SCAN_REQ_REPORT_EVENT*/); if (ret !=
HiI am using STM32H723 MCUs.I am looking for a solution to transceive serial data, the distance should be 10 m.The speed doesn't need to fast, something like 6-12 Mbps, but should be very low latency 20 us.What are in your opinion the best solution for this?I am looking forward to hear your recommendations.
Does anyone have any details on register settings to get the S2-LP running from XIN rather that a crystal? The documentation is a bit thin in this area.
Hi, I am working on a project that involves, among other things, BLE communication. The host side of the BLE runs on an STM32F091RC, and for the controller, I am using the BLUENRG-M2SP. As a starting point, I used a Nucleo board with the X-Nucleo shield and flashed a zephyr BLE peripheral example on the STM32. The application starts correctly, the initialization passes, and it begins advertising. The first problem I encountered is when I try to connect a phone. Among other logs, I am getting the following: [00:01:31.465,000] <wrn> bt_hci_core: opcode 0x2016 status 0x3a [00:01:31.465,000] <err> bt_hci_core: Failed read remote features (-16) Besides this log, I am able to connect to the phone, read characteristics, etc. However, what is strange is that when I read the connection destination address, I am getting FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. Also, bonding fails, which is necessary for my project. I have done a lot of investigation on the host app to find what might
What is the current into VSYS when reset is high and VDD is 0V?
We have a problem to drive a crystal some of the PCB on after the mass production as we tought have problem to value of XO_RCO_CONF0 registers GM_CONF values. Is there any body help that value? How can we solve that problem? Is this value critical? Note: The crystal had been used completly same with S2-LP's suggest. Best RegardsMelih
