Posted on May 12, 2017 at 11:11 Hi all, I'm trying to use the SPWF04SA module in SPI mode. So far I've managed to put it in such a mode either with the AT commands or just by pulling high the IRQ line, however it seems to be stuck without any response and only very few times it recovers by starting to blink the LEDs and toggling the IRQ line. Which is the correct configuration and startup procedure? Here are mine: - SPI CLK polarity low, first edge triggered. NO PULL on this line. - No pull on both MISO and MOSI. - Pull-up on IRQ line and CS from the very beginning. - Startup: 3.15V supply goes high, RST goes low for 100 ms, then goes back high. After startup is done, the IRQ is triggered by the module at least once, but then it remains low most of the time with no LEDs blinking. Sometimes it recovers after a while with LEDs blinking and IRQ toggling. I would really appreaciate any help, for the documentation is really lacking of details about this. Thank you, Daniele #spwf
Posted on June 06, 2017 at 09:51Hi!I am using the SPWF04S module configured in MiniAP mode. I've created a file in RAM memory using the AT+S.FSC command.I am reading the file using the AT+S.FSP command. After about 450-500 successfully readings, the module responds with Low Memory and resets itself (watchdog) after 20 seconds. Sometimes the respond is 'WIND:8:Hard Fault:ConUart:0002b290:20030000:07fd5003:08023588:47938cc4:fb3f49b6:080bb3e0:21000000' instead of Low Memory.The same happens if I am creating the file using POST messages to the module. In this case I have the following steps:1. I send this from client PC: curl -i -X POST -H 'Content-type: multipart/form-data' -F 'data=@FileSetX' 172.10.20.12. I read the module using 'AT+S.FSP=FileSetX,,'. The content of the file are read correctly.3. Repeat 1 and 2. After about 400-500 success, the module is blocked (Low Memory / Hard Fault or maybe something else...)Thanks.
Posted on June 07, 2017 at 09:11HI We are planing to use a new WIFI module from ST for replacing the old module ( form another supplier ) so I :1. bought a NUCLEO-F401RE and a X-NUCLEO.IDW04A boards.2. downloaded the en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware software. 3. done the board setup according to page 6 in UM2183 (Getting started with the X-NUCLEO-IDW04A1)4. compiled the firmware (Server_Socket) with IAR, and downloaded it to the board.5. run.and now the software get stuck in the wifi_reset() function wating for the stage to get started.while(IO_status_flag.WiFi_WIND_State != WiFiHWStarted) { __NOP(); //nothing to do } so before I get started with the big investigation, I was thinking that maybe I wasn't the only one that have see this problem.So I'm hoping that one of you guys can give me a hint, thanks in advance..#x-cube-wifi1 #spwf04sa #x-nucleo-idw04a1
Posted on April 21, 2017 at 02:43 Hello ST community,sorry,maybe I should post my problem here. Now I am working on the wifi module X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 ,I found some problem. Hardware:NUCLEO-F401RE,X-NUCLEO-IDW01M1 Software:STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1 IDE: iar arm 7.1 From the example project I found two types one is SPWF01 another is SPWF04, I found the exampleBinary is the SPW I change the config to SPWF01,but it still not work. 1)en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware (1)\STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1\Projects\Multi\Applications\ WiFi_VCOM From the Tera term I found the print message,but when I input 'AT+S.STS',nothing output. 2)en.x-cube-wifi1_firmware (1)\STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.1\Projects\Multi\Applications\HTTP_Request From this example it will always run at the wifi init. file wifi_module.c line 294and can not run out this function.It seems to wait for the state. I only changed one thing in wifi_conf.h the old one is #define SPWF04,I change to #define S
Posted on February 07, 2017 at 07:41Hi i want to use SPWF01SA wifi module, but i'm confused about connections. I want to control SPWF01S with another mcu and in my schematic i've connected only rx,tx, vcc and gnd also one connector like jtag. But i did not understand how to program module ? My jtag connections right ? In SPWF01SA with nucleo board schematics, there is a connector like a jtag. (Below en.x-nucleo-idw01m1_schematic.pdf) I need help about connections with my mcu and also RTS and CTS pins. I write details below pictures. My design is SPWF_wifi.PDF. I'm sure that, there are forgotten connections. With warmest regards.
Posted on June 05, 2017 at 15:43I am trying to reprogram EVAL-SP1ML868. I have read UM1889 and have the necessary software installed. I have fitted a shorting link to JP1. The 'Flash Loader Demonstrator' first screen 'Select communication port settings' I have set to the correct COM port (COM8 in this instance) and baud rate 115200. UM1889 does not tell me what to set Parity or Echo options to. I have tried every combination and only get error messages like 'No response from target...' or 'Unrecognized device...'. What am I doing wrong?The current firmware version is 1.03#flash-loader-demonstrator #steval-sp1ml

Posted on June 04, 2017 at 19:13Hello,I bought the spsgrf-955290 (controlled via SPI) module for a school project.After a week to looking for how to go in TX/RX state, I wonder one question : how to transmit or receive a data ?Problem, the datasheet, this lack of details is clearly irritating and surprising from ST. No informations about a simple transmission/reception, an example of a steps to follow could have been appreciated.I'm trying to do the 'direct through FIFIO' for TX mode but when I wrote at FIFO address, I'm unable to know if my data was completely sent. The datasheet says 'data are transmitted without any processing', how to be sure of it? Like reception, I set up the same mode to RX but no data when reading FIFO address...Someone who have made this operation or have ideas about that?Thanks.#spsgrf-955290 #fifo #receive #reception #transmission #spirit1 #transmit #mode

Posted on May 30, 2017 at 14:09So far I found.Mbed cli - I'd prefer a built application not something I need to install python + git + mercurial. Not impressed. I may try the online version.MDK-ARM - Said it was free then asked for licenses. Not sure if this is free or not. No issue with paying for the IDE but I'd like to check it out first. truestudio - seems to have an evaluation at least. not tried yet.Any recommendations? - or is there a thread on this somewhere?
Posted on July 22, 2016 at 16:06I'm using the module in MiniAP mode , I write once a second a file ''data.json'' in the RAM memory pages.I'm using a sequence like this : ''AT+S.FSD=/data.json'' .... ''AT+S.FSC=/data.json,512'' .... the file size is 260 byte max, so the file is quite lower the the max_size=4096 form the manual.anything seems OK but suddenly,after some seconds, I got the error message: ''ERROR: There is not enough free space''when I try to create the file.I've update the module to the last SPWF01S-160129-c5bf5ce-RELEASE-main.ota fw.Theonly way I've found to free memory is to reset the module using AT+cfun=1but in this way the client will be detached.I suspect some problem related to the module heap, after the error I print the heap values:ERROR: There is not enough free spaceAT+S.STS=min_heap♯ min_heap = 7008AT+S.STS=free_heap♯ free_heap = 8072There are some other way to free

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 07:54I want to convert the currently converted microphone data to BLE, and store the data in STEVAL-IDB006V1M Dongle to PC. (To convert wav file)The STM32L432KC and BlueNRG-MS were used to convert the analog microphone data to digital and send the digital data to the BLE.We then connected the STEVAL-IDB006V1M Dongle to the PC and confirmed the BLE Data sent to the BlueNRG GUI software.However, we only showed data one by one in real time, and we could not find the function we wanted in the GUI program.The question is.If you do not have the ability to store BLE Data separately sent in real time from the BlueNRG GUI program, I wonder if there is other software of ST that supports this function.STEVAL-IDB006V1M I want to save the BLE data received from the PC in Dongle in TEXT file or WAV file format in real time, but I could not find any format for it.Please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail.Thank you.
Posted on May 29, 2017 at 09:02Hi!I have 2 STEVAL-IDS001V3 (433MHz) USB dongles. I have downloaded the STSW-CONNECT009 software package. Using SPIRIT1 DK v2.2.1 I first upgraded the dongles (SPIRIT1 insisted on this) and afterwards reflashed the dongles with wM-Bus GUI image. Using the wM-Bus demo suite v 2.3.13 I configured the dongles for concentrator T1 mode. The strange thing is that my dongles are 433MHz but I receive wM-Bus-frames from 868MHz meters. I also have a 433MHz wM-Bus meter within range, but the dongles are not receiving messages from the meter. How do I get the dongles to operate on 433MHz in the wM-Bus demo suite? And why are the dongles receiving on 868MHz when they are type V3?/Gert
Posted on October 19, 2015 at 09:01I think that there are some issues with the SSI implementation that I would like to point out. I hope that you could post this forward to the firmware developers of the module.First, the SSI WIND event does not conform to the specified asynchronous indication format(UM1695, rev.5, page 4), which is<cr><lf>+WIND:<number>:<descriptive string><cr><lf>Instead the generated WIND event is <cr><lf>+WIND:56:Insert message to client:<ID>So in the other words the ending <cr><lf> are missing. This looks nice and fine for human operator on the console, but will require workaround the line parser which I would like to omit.Second, if the response is not sent in time the device sends notification of this using just plain text “TIMEOUT OCCURRED!. It would be better if the initial indication was formatted correctly and the timeout indication would be another WIND indication. Once more this requires sp
Posted on May 24, 2017 at 02:06My customer would like to use BTLE as just a 'wire' replacement. However, we recently discovered that the Android BT stack / Phonegap will sometimes deliver BT packets to our phone-app in a different order to which it received them off the air, so we are forced to add a 1 byte header on each BT packet we transmit from our device to give us the information to reorder them once they are received on the phone.We would need the ability to add that one byte header on BT packets, and that would have to be inside the BT chip since the packet boundaries are only decided there. The change is trivial and tiny - I only mention it since this means the code that does the packetization on the BT device cannot be in ROM (OTP or Flash is fine) so we can add this small delta to it.BTLE (at least in the mode we use it) relays data in 20-byte packets, and so somewhere in the stack the data-stream is broken up into chunks of 20 bytes. We need t

Posted on April 14, 2017 at 11:32Hello,In order to have more than 6 services on my BlueNRG-MS device, I wanted to create a service that will add/remove the other ones.At the beginning, it worked well, I could choose the services I wanted to activate but quickly, a problem appear. Indeed, it seems that the memory is not freed after deleting characteristics and services : after few adding/removing, I can't anymore add service because of a out of memory error.I use the aci_gatt_del_char and aci_gatt_del_service functions to remove a service but is there something more to do ?Thanks,Julien#bluenrg-ms #ble

Posted on May 18, 2017 at 15:35Hi,I have one question about the SPWF04S module python capabilities. Looking at the 'console_active' configuration variable, it seems that the python functionalities can be used only with the UART. Given that the command 'AT+S.PYTHON' has its SPI equivalent though, i would say that scripts can be launched via SPI, and the only thing that needs an UART to function is the REPL; is this correct?Thank you#spwf04sa
Posted on May 17, 2017 at 18:02Hi All,I am currently working on a project where I want to interface with the LIS2DE12 accelerometer and an Arduino Mini Pro (16MHz) w/ ATmega 328 over I2C. I am using the STEVAL-MKI175V1 as an LIS2DE12 adapter board. The following pins are connected:SCL to A5SDA to A4SDO to 2.5V (This sets the device address 0x19. Connecting it to GND would change the address)CS to 2.5V (This enables I2C)GND to GNDVDD_IO to 2.5V (I have also tried VD_IO to RAW)I am not using pull resistors as the ATmega 328 has internal pull resistors. Is this setup correct? The board also has VDD is there any difference between VDD_IO in this context. I also have to mention that I had previously connected SDO,CS and VDD_IO to 5v without me realizing the max voltage for VDD_IO is 4.8 and CS and SDO have a max voltage of VDD_IO + 0.3. Did damage the STEVAL-MKI175V1 board? Is there a way to test if it was damaged?#i2c #can-wiring #connection
Posted on May 11, 2017 at 15:04Hi!I am using the SPWF04SA module. I am trying to create dynamic pages. My webpage is done and it works. I'm having problems with updating the tokens buffer using the AT+S.INPUTSSI command as described in the AN4965 Application note and UM2114 User Manual.The problem is, if I send more than 255 bytes with AT+S.INPUTSSI command, the module became unresponsive! No more AT commands are recognized, and after 20 seconds the Watchdog resets the module. I think this is a bug, and if the SSI tokens buffer is limited to 255 bytes, this should be mentioned in the manual and/or application note.So, when I send this:AT+S.INPUTSSI=256|{1111;11/05/2017;16:00}|{1111;11/05/2017;16:00;0;1;11,00;116;0;0}|{1111;11/05/2017;16:00;116;0;0;0;6;0;0}|{1111;11/05/2017;16:00;7;1;0;2;1;0;12345;0.0.0.0;123456789012345;1234567890123456}|{1111;11/05/2017;16:00;22:32:43;33;3;8;19:42:43;32;2;65}|{012345}|I get no answer from the module, and I have to wait 20 seconds for the watchdog to
Posted on May 16, 2017 at 11:48Hi,I finally got my hands on the SPWF04S module; it works great, but i have some questions about the user flash and the micropython functionalities:First of all, how can i write on the user flash? Is the AT+S.FSUPDATE command the only way to create files on the user flash, or is there any other way?Following up on that question, let's say i manage to put a python script on the user flash (using FSUPDATE command or any other method); can that script be launched with the usual AT+S.PYTHON command?Thank you#spwf04sa
Posted on May 05, 2017 at 15:43Hi all,I am implementing the X-CUBE-BLE1 stack in my project and after some initializations like:aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSET, CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_LEN, bdaddr);aci_gatt_init()The function aci_gap_init_IDB05A1(GAP_PERIPHERAL_ROLE_IDB05A1, 0, 0x07, &service_handle, &dev_name_char_handle, &appearance_char_handle);returns the status FLASH_WRITE_FAILED (0x4A).Have anyone any idea for this problem?I'm following the 'SensorDemo' project step by step.Thanks.#spbtle-rf #stm32 #bluenrg-ms
