After many years without problems, now my STVD is acting weird.
It shows different behaviors running as user and admin
- As user:
The Open Workspace file selector pup-up file type is set to show only .exe files (it should be .stw files)
When I start debugging it compiles, hangs on Restoring context message on the small Loading... pop-up, after some seconds shows not responding on window title and crash. Note that the main windows title shows some GDI error message
- As admin:
The Open Workspace pop-up is ok
When I start debugging an error message pops-up "Connection error (usb://usb): gdi-error [40201]: can't access configuration database"
I've tried so far:
- Reinstalled STVD at another drive besides C:
- Move the workspace and project files to another drive (the same where STVD is installed)
- Reinstalled st-link drivers
- Checked if STVP is working fine. It is.
- Tried a new user space in windows
- Tried to create a new project
- Deleted some obvious registry entries related to STVD (after uninstalling it)
- Checked for windows (running on Win10 22H2) and drivers updates
Hardware info:
Dell G3 laptop running Windows 10 22H2
STM8S003K3 MCU
ST-Link V2
COSMIC Compiler
Any help is very appreciated.
