Why CubeMX abandoned DP83848_PHY brutely?

It seems the newer 4.17.0 version, change the default PHY to LAN8742A, simply deleted the DP83848, why? Why can't you add another option to let users to choose and make their code work with the newer CubeMX version???

Why does it matter which MCU or board?

DP83848 was available in CubeMX before 4.17.0, now it is not. Why was it removed? There are many users out there that are using this PHY. Even a search on this forum will show this...

Also, this removal should have been documented in the release notes and made obvious so people would know before the upgrade. Now I am unable to use CubeMX anymore, since it breaks my project, and also unable to get hold of the previous version of the project manager and the F4 drivers package, in order to revert.

Totally unprofessional!

The PHY will be made available again in our next release 4.18 coming out soon.
