Just make sure that the circuit is not drawing too much current.. for example LCD backlight ..
or SPI pins accidently/momentatrily shorted to VDD/Gnd. causing the 3.3V to drop...Ths may cause the Debugger to fail. I guess you may have verified that the board is fine by running another firmwareOptions

Failed to read CPUID for Cortex device
