L is typically low power
0xx often refers to CM0(+) core
4xx often refers to CM4 core
7xx often refers to CM7 core

futureproof convention depends on the forward looking range...
F is the original family, L is the low power familly, and then as things evolves more letters are created.
Just look at USB bus naming convension over the years, or car plate naming convention which sometime change...
For the other letters of the salestype, the description is in the last pages of the product datasheet.
