X-CUBE-AUDIO-KIT and STM32H5F5J-DK?

Rodo

Hi all,

X-CUBE-AUDIO-KIT has a project for STM32H573I-DK but this discovery kit has a very small LCD screen. I see the soon to be available STM32H5F5J-DK with a larger screen. Both of these kits have an M33 core MCU so technically the example for one could be ported to the other but that's not something I'll like to do.

Will there be an upgrade to X-CUBE-AUDIO-KIT anytime soon and will it include any examples for STM32H5F5J-DK?

Thanks

Hi @Rodo ,

The STM32H573I-DK Discovery kit contains a UFBGA176 package (STM32H573IIK3Q microcontroller), while the STM32H5F5J-DK Discovery kit contains a TFBGA225 package (STM32H5F5LJH7Q microcontroller). Because of these package and pinout differences, you need to be careful when migrating any X-CUBE-AUDIO-KIT project from one board to the other.

Regarding your question on X-CUBE-AUDIO-KIT support: we will keep you updated as soon as we have a new release that includes examples for the STM32H5F5J-DK.

Thank you!

Well... as I said in my question ... I'm not interested in migrating the projects. I'm actually using an STM32U5A9 and I don't want to try to migrate it to this one either.  You guys think that migrating projects from one MPU to another is easy and as I've stated in previous post, I disagree.

As for the STM32H5F5J-DK  kit. I looked at the schematics and I notice no audio components. I no longer think this is a good option for me.

I think I'm just gonna buy the STM32H573I-DK but looking at the schematics I just found that there seem to be two versions of that board and one of them has an obsolete audio codec. I'm gonna post another question on that issue.

Thanks
