lib_nfc support for NFC tag Type 4

Adriano Melis
Associate III

Hello all,

I discovered that selecting in STM32CubeIDE under Pinout & Configuration/Middleware and Software Packs/ X-CUBE-NFC4 the source folder Middleware/ST/lib_nfc is added to the project source tree, containing the source files for the lib_nfc library.

However, while the support fot NFC Type 5 appears complete, the support for Type 4 is not.

Are there plans to complete the support?

Thanks,

Adriano

Hi Adriano,

The X-CUBE-NFC4 software expansion is dedicated to ST25DV Type 5 dynamic tag. As this is a Type 5 Tag, the lib_nfc provides type 5 support.

Can you elaborate on your need for T4T support: is this for a reader or for a tag?

NFC readers such as ST25R95, ST25R3911B, ST25R3916/16B, ST25R200 or ST25R300 supports communication with various types of tag including T4T. The ST25 Embedded library provides the various middleware for reading/writing NDEF messages from/to T2T, T3T, T4T or T5T tags.
