SPV1050 sample time

The Tsample value doesn't reach the published value (between 0.3 and 0.5 s, and from my measurements between 0.3 and 0.35 s) until Vstore reaches the EOC threshold. Before, it is just around 80 ms. Once EOC is reached and when Vstore decreases again the published range is achieved, but when Vstore decreases below the UVP threshold, the value of 80 ms shows again and it keeps until the EOC threshold is reached again. I tested this with 2 different chips. This behaviour is not stated in the datasheet.

Welcome @mgasulla, to the community!

The Tsample values quoted in the datasheet (0.3...0.5 s) apply to the normal sampling mode, i.e. when the voltage at VSTORE is between the UVP and EOC thresholds and the device is operating in its steady‑state energy‑management regime.

Below the UVP threshold, and during the startup / recharge phase until VSTORE reaches EOC for the first time, the device uses a different internal timing with a shorter sampling period (~80 ms in your measurements). This is intended to speed up the bring‑up and protect the load when the storage voltage is low, but it is not explicitly detailed in the data sheet.

Once VSTORE crosses EOC and then later falls again (staying above UVP), the Tsample you observe matches the published 0.3...0.5 s range, which is the specified operating condition.

ok. It would be nice to have this description in the datasheet too.
