Why so many hoops to jump through to download ST Utilities?!

I've been working with ST devices for a long time. I don't mind being forced into the ecosystem because it's good for prototyping and generally good quality. That being said, I am sooo tired of having to jump through like 15-20mins worth of hoops to download the utils on alternate workstations? I don't always have my pc with credentials, or thumbdrives with installers on me and have to install these on various workstations. It is incredibly frustrating to have to not just disable VPN's wherever I have to access it from and spend another 10 mins trying to get it downloaded. Why do we have to have emailed download links?! What does that accomplish?! I get there are likely regulations that have to be followed by location, but there are BETTER WAYS TO DO THIS. Sorry. It's just really starting to drive me nuts and I don't understand why it is necessary.

Such as? Can't let anyone and everyone download the software regardless of who or where they are. What's the alternative?

Consider caching the installations on a local network machine and grab them from there.
