TDA7265 not working in my Power amp project

For this project I used a TDA7265 in beige configuration directly following the circuit diagram from the datasheet. In testing, no sound is coming from the speaker, only a hum. I’m using a 12V 1 A dual rail supply with an 8 ohms speaker. I have demonstration for this project on Thursday. I’m not sure if it’s stuck in standby mode/mute mode so I’m seeking some clarity on this whole thing.

have picture of the circuit I used for my PCB however there’s a mistake that I caught in testing regarding the output. I fixed that but I can’t see why the speaker doesn’t automatically sound.

Welcome @Jasmina-2, to the community!

You have inadvertently connected the top end of the speaker incorrectly - it must be connected to pin 4 instead of pin 8 (see data sheet, figure 18).
