LPS28DFW Mechanical Limit

tom23song

Hello everyone,

I plan to use the LPS28DFW barometer to measure the final pressure after a drop from 30 atm.

I only need to sense the final pressure within the sensor’s specified working range, but I’d like to know whether exposure to the initial 30 atm would cause mechanical damage to the device. Or, at what pressure can I expect the sensor to break?

Thanks!

Hi @tom23song ,

The LPS28DFW is designed for atmospheric pressure ranges and cannot withstand pressures as high as 30 atm without likely sustaining mechanical damage. Its maximum rated pressure is far below 30 atm. For measuring pressures up to 30 atm, a dedicated high-pressure sensor should be used to avoid damaging the device.
