ISM330DLC and IIS2MDC Chip Markings

KAndersen

Hello,

I can't find reference to the expected chip markings for the ISM330DLC and IIS2MDC in their respective datasheets. My PCB assembler is requesting this information to validate the components.
Are these the correct markings?
ISM330DLC: SY 203
IIS2MDC: M

Thank you in advance for your time and kind regards,

Welcome @KAndersen, to the community!

The marking is always indicated on the label of the roll packaging.

  • ISM330DLC: has the marking SY, the following 203 on your devices denotes the production datecode in the form YWW, i.e. last digit of the year and the calender week. Since it only came onto the market in 2017, 2 must therefore stand for 2022.
  • IIS2MDCTR-M: has the marking M

Please note: a marking with just one letter M is of course too short to be unique given the vast number of devices from STMicroelectronics. For example, M also stands for the bidirectional ESD protection diode ESDZV053-1BF5. The surounding conditions (package, label on the bag, etc.) then reveal what it actually is.

Hope that helps?

Regards
/Peter

Thank you Peter,

If I understand you correctly, the manufacturer part number marking is on the reel. We purchased these components in cut-tape quantities and the chip markings for the ISM330DLC are SY ### and the for the IIS2MDC are M, but are not unique to the component. Therefore, we will trust the vendor put the correct components in the correct bag.

Thank you again for your reply.
