Using NDK in android studio to incorporate C/C++ into app design, in order to implement the bluNRG-2 functionality?

So I am an engineering student and I am trying to develop a android application for a device that uses the bluNRG-2 to send sensor data to the receiver (android device). My thoughts are to incorporate the bluetooth functionality in android studio by using C/C++. Does this make sense? Or should this be done another way?

It will be easier to start with BlueNRG-1/2 DK:

https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-bluenrg1-dk.html

Start with the sample projects (ready to go) available in DK, with one of the IDEs: IAR EWARM, Keil MDK-ARM, Atollic TrueStudio,

on an EVB such as STEVAL-IDB008V2.
