I'm currently designing a source solution for PD up to 20V 5A.
I have the STEVAL-ISC004V1 board for the STUSB4710 and noticed in the schematic that the feedback ladder is connected directly to the GPIO pins on the STUSB4710. The ISC003V1 board however isolates these through external MOSFETs. My best guess is that this is to do with the abs max voltage rating on the GPIO pins?
My final implementation is going to use the 4700 instead, which lists an abs max of 4.5V on the GPIO pins. I wanted to know if I can safely drive the resistor ladder directly from the GPIO pins or if I needed to implement the external MOSFETs too?
