Why VL53xxx TOF cannot work in the dark? We are test it in dark room. It have a lot of distance error. Can you explain? And Can we compensation the error distance by software?

If the distance is off my a constant amount - say +/- below 2cm, then it's an offset calibration error.

If the distance is short and gets worse with distance it's an cross talk error induced by your coverglass.

the datasheet hints at the calibration, but you really need the user manual to fully understand. And we hide the user manual in the API that you download from ST,com

Go to ST.com/TimeOfFlight click on product selector. Choose your sensor and go to it's main page.

Download the API from there and look into the user manual.
