As in a different post, The TF-A build did not create the FIP binaries after deleting the FIP build folder. This article does not describe how to create a new FIP binary. only how to update. very confusing !The fiptool does provide a create function but its not listed as one the options in this page: very confusing !How to configure TF-AHow to use the "Create" option ?
Hello,The QC for STLINK-V3PWR assembled in France seems to be very bad. I received a unit that doesn't work out of the box (when USB is connected the status leds stay off, AUX power outputs 3.3V, host computer doesn't detect V3PWR).The same host computer works just fine with another V3PWR unit. I decided to check the faulty unit out to see if there is a trivial fix for the issue (since the return shipping to the distributor is quite expensive). I found out that the USB3340 constantly has RESETB signal low, since it also has VCCIO applied this means that it is effectively disabled and tristated. Trying to trace where RESETB goes, I found U35 on the other side partially lifted, underneath U35 there was a small SMD resistor propping it up. I don't know how this could have passed QC.Reworking U35 unfortunately did not improve anything. Unfortunately there are not schematics available for the V3PWR to make such troubleshooting easier. U35 seems to be a dual op-amp.... Is ther
Hi, I have an STM32MP135F-DK board, and I want to set LDO2 and get an output voltage of 3.3V. I have read a document ( Integration of STM32MP13x MPU product lines and STPMIC1D / STPMIC1A on a wall adapter supply) which states that LDO2 must be set after boot sequence by software. Unfortunately I could not find a way to do that. I am stuck and any help is appreciated.
i have download the embedded wizard example from https://www.embedded-wizard.de/platforms/stmicroelectronics/stm32mp1 this website.now i am confusing that how i can run this builed example in stm32MP135 ?
My question is what the recommended values are for STM32MP151CAA3T (see image for Altium xsignals creation for the routing).I am currently doing routing and I could not find all this information in the datasheet.
Hello. I need to integrate a TI SN65DSI83 bridge with a DK2 board and one of the requirements of that bridge is to drive the data lanes to LP-11 state. What is the procedure to make that happen? I am assuming I need to make changes to dw-mipi-dsi / dw-mipi-dsi-stm drivers but that is not obvious to me at the moment. Thanks.
Hello ST community,I am designing a board with STM32MP135 CPU and DDR3L based from STM32MP135F-DK.DDR stress test passed successfully and tf-a files are adjusted to have I2C4 on pins used in my design (SCL on PB13 and SDA on PB7).When I flash board there is the following message in console (debug mode enabled):NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP135F Rev.Y NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics custom STM32CubeMX board - openstlinux-5.15-y octo-kirkstone-mp1-v22.11.23 ERROR: nvmem node board_id not found INFO: PMIC version = 0x21 INFO: Reset reason (0x35): INFO: Power-on Reset (rst_por) INFO: FCONF: Reading TB_FW firmware configuration file from: 0x2ffe0000 INFO: FCONF: Reading firmware configuration information for: stm32mp_io INFO: Using USB INFO: Instance 2 INFO: Boot used partition fsbl1 NOTICE: BL2: v2.6-stm32mp1-r2.0(debug):v2.6-dirty(a1f02f4f) NOTICE: BL2: Built : 13:14:26, Nov 23 2021 INFO: BL2: Doing platform setup INFO: RAM: DDR3-DDR3L 16bits 400000kHz ERROR: DDR expected freq 400000 kHz, current
Hi all, I work on a STM32MP153 device and I used the command echo mem > /sys/power/state to put CPU A7 in Cstop mode, but I still have MCU running.I am wondering if a message via IPCC from MCU to MPU (that is stopped at WFI) can wakeup the A7 CPU.I tried but it seams not working, so I would like to understand if it is feasible (in the AN5109 low-power application note I don't find IPCC as a wakeup source)Looking forward Andrea
Many thanks for your help!I have a custom STM32MP157c boards that works OK when the galcore.ko module is not deployed. When the galcore,ko module is deployed, the screen doesn't show up the usual image and after the boot image has been displayed, it stays black. From cat /home/weston/weston.log, it seems that something foes wrong with a signal 15 ([11:24:37.793] caught signal 15:([11:24:17.605] Output 'DPI-1' enabled with head(s) DPI-1 [11:24:17.605] Compositor capabilities: arbitrary surface rotation: yes screen capture uses y-flip: no cursor planes: yes arbitrary resolutions: no view mask clipping: yes explicit sync: no color operations: no presentation clock: CLOCK_MONOTONIC, id 1 presentation clock resolution: 0.000000001 s [11:24:17.606] Loading module '/usr/lib/weston/desktop-shell.so' [11:24:17.609] launching '/usr/libexec/weston-keyboard' [11:24:17.612] Warning: support for depreca
Hi all,I am designing a custom board using the STM32MP157CAD. But I haven't been able to get a lock on HSE crystal.Still on tf-a, I removed st,bypass to use the internal oscillator, also used the DTS generated by STM32CubeMX, following my PCB design. But was only able to boot the board using HSI.Enabling TF-A debug messages I was able to see that software was enabling HSE crystal and hanging on HSERDY flag until timeout. I tried to increase the timeout value but not even after 10s software was able to achieve a lock.My crystal specs:Freq: 24MHz;Load capacitance: 20pF;Freq. stability: +-30ppmESR: 40rI have attached schematics and PCB connections with the crystal below (HCLK_IN goes to PH0 and HCLK_OUT to PH1)What could be causing the HSE not to lock?
Hello,according to drivers/gpu/drm/stm/ltdc.c stm hardware supports these pixel formats:enum ltdc_pix_fmt {PF_NONE,/* RGB formats */PF_ARGB8888, /* ARGB [32 bits] */PF_RGBA8888, /* RGBA [32 bits] */PF_RGB888, /* RGB [24 bits] */PF_RGB565, /* RGB [16 bits] */PF_ARGB1555, /* ARGB A:1 bit RGB:15 bits [16 bits] */PF_ARGB4444, /* ARGB A:4 bits R/G/B: 4 bits each [16 bits] *//* Indexed formats */PF_L8, /* Indexed 8 bits [8 bits] */PF_AL44, /* Alpha:4 bits + indexed 4 bits [8 bits] */PF_AL88 /* Alpha:8 bits + indexed 8 bits [16 bits] */};which corresponds to list of pixel format that I get from modetest -M stm | grep format:formats: AR24 XR24 RG24 RG16 AR15 XR15 AR12 XR12 C8 My question is : does STM hardware support RGB666 pixel format ? If yes, how should I patch stm driver to handle this pixel format ?
Hello all,We have a custom board with STM32MP157FAC1.Kernel version is 5.10.153.I know that Murata 1DX is used on STM32MP157C-DK2 board and that's why we choose it to use in our product. But in our case, module is waiting in loading state. The command for probe the module: modprobe brcmfmac debug=0x1FFFFE The output: [ 422.736902] cfg80211: Loading compiled-in X.509 certificates for regulatory database [ 422.771509] cfg80211: Loaded X.509 cert 'sforshee: 00b28ddf47aef9cea7' [ 422.922159] brcmfmac: brcmfmac_module_init No platform data available. Hello,I've tried sent data using STM32MP157 customer board. SPI2 from M4 side using. So if I use standalone M4 data is transmitted. If I try sent data from M4 while Linux is runnig at A7, CTSIZE and TXTF bits at SR register are set and no any data is transmitted. Linux not use SPI2 in device tree. Could anyone help me solve this issues, please? Thanks,Alex.

Hello,I'm working on a project that requires precise time synchronization between two sensors.sensor1 is from M4, which is encoder data of motor.sensor2 is from A7, which is sensor connected to ethernet(UDP protocol)For Sensor2, I've set up PTP (Precision Time Protocol), so I can accurately determine when the data is acquired based on the Linux timestamp. However, I'm facing challenges in determining the exact timestamp for the data acquired from Sensor1 on the M4.Are there any recommended solutions or methodologies to achieve precise time synchronization for the M4 sensor data, especially in relation to Sensor2's timestamp(or A7's linux time)?Thank you for your assistance!
Hi,I've set up 3 pwmleds on my board, 1 led ("led1") on pwm2 (TIM2_CH4 on PA3) and the other 2 ("led2" and "led3") on pwm8 (TIM8_CH1 on PH13 and TIM8_CH2 on PH14). If I put the system in suspend mode it doesn't work. The system gives me the following message:"stm32-pwm 40000000.timer:pwm: PWM 3 still in use by consumer led1PM: dpm_run_callback(): platform_pm_suspend+0x0/0x48 returns -16stm32-pwm 40000000.timer:pwm: PM: failed to suspend: error -16PM: Some devices failed to suspend, or early wake event detected""If I disable the led1 in the devicetree and leave only the other 2 leds (led2 and led3) on pwm8 the suspend works as expected.Any idea?
When using the latest git to build TF-A . Have been following the README_HOW_TO form git. All the steps are given blow.1. The git does not contain the build file .sdk , it is only provided in the ECO package. it is not clearly stated to get the file form the ECO package and put above the source folder for the git build. Why is it not there and why put it above the source location ? This apples both to optee and TF-A2. make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk allMessage show: Missing u-boot-stm32mp157c-ed1.dtb file in folder: '$FIP_DEPLOYDIR_UBOOT' or '$FIP_DEPLOYDIR_ROOT/u-boot'3. make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk TF_A_DEVICETREE=stm32mp157c-dk2 TF_A_CONFIG=trusted ELF_DEBUG_ENABLE='1' allMessage shown: No boot device driver is enabled4 the FIP_DEPLOYDIR_UBOOT has no output files, why is it mentioned in the script ? After building the TF-A from ECU 5.0.0 download (not the git). found the FIP folder and bin files. Deleted the FIP folder (export FIP_DEPLOYDIR_ROOT=$PWD/../../FIP_artifacts After running $ make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk all again the FIP folder and files are not generated anymore. Also tried make clean but no resolve.Deleted the tf-a folder, restarted everything again (untar the tar etc...and followed all from the readme again ) but still not FIP folder or files are generated, even the build does report the files were generate (see below output)# for some reason this does not create the FIP folder and files after the 1st time run ! it also delets the FIP_artifacts /arm... folder if run for a 2nd time ! this is the same with optee. Why is this designed this way ? the solution might be never ever run this:$ make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk all# for some reason this creates the FIP folder and output files but does not create default binaries$ make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk DEPLOY
Hi, AllI upgraded the image for our custom board to 5.0 last week.Metadata1/metadata2 (metadata.bin) are on the partition as concerned in the following issue.https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mpu-products/stm32mp157f-dk2-failing-to-boot-on-custom-image/m-p/115635 As supplementary information, in my custom image, I changed the partition storage location of metadata1/2 as follows. Hi community,I am attempting to compile TF-A in a straightforward manner, similar to ecosystem v2, which packs BL2 & BL32 to only one single .stm32 file for writing to fsbl1/fsbl2.However, FIP is enabled by default in ecosystem v5. I am curious about how to disable it? Ecosystem v3 release note mentioned that it can be done by setting MACHINE_FEATURES_remove = "fip", but I cannot find the config file.
Hi all ~We're using STM32MP157C MPU + STPMIC1A for my custom board with ecosystem 4.1We've completed almost all of development for hardware and software. And we just made a sample of 30 units. Unfortunately, we've found some issue in specific 3 units. At first, all of the boards worked successfully, but after a while, we found that a few boards would not boot. We are using eMMC for boot device so I configured boot switch to 010 for eMMC boot mode.Despite of that, MPU enter the DFU mode, and it is detected in STM32CubeProgrammer.Therefore, I've tried to check why MPU enter to DFU mode despite of boot mode is eMMC.And I noticed that Cause is PMIC buck4 voltage level. We are using STPMIC1A, so buck4's default voltage is 3.3v as described in datasheet and it is used for eMMC VCC. But, In a few board which has boot problem PMIC buck4 output 1.8v as default voltage. So, eMMC boot device does not work properly and MPU could not find the FSBL, finally MPU enter the DFU mode.I've alrea
