I am trying to achieve hard real-time under 100us on the STM32MP157f-eval, specifically, on the Cortex A7 dual core.Note: I specifically target the Cortex A7 cores because the M4 is already taken for other tasks which requires much smaller latency. What I did so far is:Build the Yocto openst-linuxAdd Preempt-RT patchAdded several software: irqbalance, tuna, hiccups... to monitor and tune the system.Isolate one coreTested high-priority process, also IRQ. Tested with internal clock and external oscilloscope.Tried to disable most driversAfter all those efforts, the jitter improved but I still get ~500us jitter when applying load for enough time.------------------------------I found the following text which brings me to think that FIQ (Fast Interrupts reQuests) are available on this hardware and could possibly be a solution to my quest for low latency and low jitter.https://bootlin.com/blog/fiq-handlers-in-the-arm-linux-kernel/Is there some example code about using those FIQ? Ideally under
I have a running system (based on bootlin buildroot) with kernel 5.10 and I wanted to update it to use the latest 6.1 and now I have a problem that the BL2 panics: NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157AAC Rev.Z NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics custom STM32CubeMX board - openstlinux-6.1-yocto-mickledore-mp1-v23.06.21 NOTICE: BL2: v2.8-stm32mp1-r1.0(release):custom() NOTICE: BL2: Built : 12:30:08, Apr 11 2024 ERROR: DDR size: 0x10000000 does not match DT config: 0x20000000 PANIC at PC : 0x2ffeae01 The board is custom and it has 512MB. Hi, I am encountering some issues while trying to configure the ADC DMA Buffer on the STM32MP135 board , when I execute the following:echo 1000 > /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio:device1/buffer/lengthecho 1 > /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio:device1/scan_elements/in_voltage0_enecho 1 > /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio:device1/buffer/enableI receive the following error after the third command:sh: write error: Invalid argumetBut when reading the ADC's raw output directly via:cat /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio:device1/in_voltage0_rawI am able to obtain a normal reading, which suggests that the basic functionality of the ADC is intact.Operating System: 5.15.24 #1 PREEMPT Sat Apr 13 15:11:38 CST 2024 armv7l GNU/Linux
Hello, I would like to integrate ethernet2 in my bare-metal project. I am aware that not only eth2 pins have to be properly configured, but also a 10th pin of MCP IO expander. However, the eth2 seems to be disabled after all. I am doing the same configuration steps for eth1 and it simply works. The question is, what am I missing? Could it be PMIC? Best,J. Schneider
Hello.I am on porting STM32MP135F-DK Discovery Board source to STM32MP133D based customizing board. With bitbake build, the firmwares work well with STM32MP135F-DK.But with our developing board, it stuck on BL2 boot with panic. The main difference is like below.1. PMIC is connected to i2c5 not i2c42. DDR ram size is changed from 512MB to 256MB3. There is no display controller. (LCD).4. SDCard is changed to eMMC. I changed tf-a-stm32mp/fdts/stm32mp135f-dk.dts file to match difference. And followed the instruction of the link below.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_configure_a_256MB_DDR_mapping_from_STM32_MPU_Distribution_Package#Purpose_of_article When I build after some changes, build commands are like below.bitbake -C compile tf-a-stm32mp optee-os-stm32mpbitbake tf-a-stm32mp optee-os-stm32mp -c deploy I used STM32CubeProgrammer to download the firmware.Boot log was like below. Hi,Does exist inside the Discovery kit with STM32MP135F board a text editor like nano or wim ?And if not how can I install it ?Thank you.Olivier.
Hi, Each time I reboot my Discovery kit with STM32MP135F borad I lost the network (IP V4 address). How can I set the IP address, Does exits somewhere a /etc/network/interface file ? Thank you, Olivier.
Hello I would like to interface the STM32MP255F to high-speed ADC like AD8285 or MAX1127 using these ADC's parallel interface. Is it possible to perform such interface while using the STM32MP255F GPIO lines? Thanks.
Hi All.I use discovery board of STM32MP157F-DK2 .So I want t to try read OTP Bits via STM32CubeProgrammer , But I find 2 errs. The err things search ST Community, I fund it. Hi, Does myir MYD-YF135 development board support Bare Metal Project?
Hi there, I'm building an ST-Linux distribution with Yocto (ST Distribution package) on a custom board (based on STM32MP153), and, now that I've tested it, I need to optimize the final image. My distribution should be completely headless (so no HMI and no library for graphics) and should be as small as possible.I based my custom image on the st-image-core image, and, for example, I noticed that in the final distribution, there's a complete filesystem dedicated to ST demos, which at this stage is completely unuseful. Is there a way to remove that filesystem? Is there any common way to remove any graphics library (and maybe also the weston user!!)? Thanks a lot!
Hi,The MP157F-DK2 comes with an SD card attached. Weston (ver 5.0.0) with DRM works well. But if I want to run Weston(ver 10.0.1) on Buildroot, it will fail.Do I need to build more packages for Weston?I am using the version of Buildroot.a. buildroot: remotes/origin/st/2023.02.6b. buildroot-external-st: remotes/origin/st/2023.02.2 This is the failure log, and the attachment is the success log of the SD card that comes with the MP157F-DK2.# export XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/run/user/root # mkdir --parents $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR # chmod 0700 $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR # weston --tty=1 [00:01:34.112] weston 10.0.1 https://wayland.freedesktop.org Bug reports to: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/weston/issues/ Build: 2021.05-10575-gae4a6e0c24 [00:01:34.113] Command line: weston --tty=1 [00:01:34.113] OS: Linux, 6.1.28, #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Feb 20 15:20:37 CST 2024, armv7l [00:01:34.113] Flight recorder: enabled [00:01:34.113] Starting with no config file. Hi!Are there any RMGII routing guidelines for the STM32MP151XXX series that are available for use?I have a Realtek RTL8211F-CG Ethernet PHY and I don't know how long the RX and TX lines should be.
*I've imported successfully of STM32mp157 dk-1 board 's schematics in altium designer and I don't know whether this processor is over advanced for application or it is must need to use for our product. even though I'm newbie with lesser yr of exp , I was successfully brought 12 lead-ECG wave ..hence, I need to design real custom pcb with 10.3 inch final end product 1980*720 lvds display.. for that, Previously, I was advised to use the i.MX RT1170, but I'm more familiar with STM32 because f7 is used for testing..then for fully prototype, I initially chose the STM32MP157 which is more same as nxp but it is MPU segent. and realized it might be challenging for BGA PCB design. Can experts recommend an STM32 product that's easier to work with for my high-resolution ECG machine application, supporting LTDC-LVDS, Ethernet, FMC, QUADSPI, SDMMC1, USB OTG FS, UART, I2C, and SPI? Thank you..1. can altium designer helps me, for easily develop and modify the mp157 without muc
Hi, during Embedded World I got MP135F devkit. I'm not into Yocto, but guy from ST told me, that MP1 can be used with RTOS but with halved max frequency. I have experiance with ThreadX on H735.Can you hint me how to start? Are there any tutorials? I couldn't find any when googling, only some YT videos about Linux.
I am adding the STPMIC1 on our custom board. While configuring device tree, when we are using scmi, how should device tree configuration look like? Should we still need to add i2c4 node? Or just adding scmi_regu entry will be enough?Regards,S
I am attempting to implement a second ethernet interface on STM32MP157F-DK2 by using the Arduino Ethernet Shield, which is based on the Wiznet W5500 chip. The implementation aims to use SPI assigned to A7 core to communicate with the shield, which will then convert the SPI messages to be transferred over Ethernet. I have been unsuccessful in configuring this thus far and would like any help possible. What I have tried so far:- Modification of the kernel was done using the following page: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Distribution_Package 1. Modified the distribution package using menuconfig to include W5500 support such that CONFIG_WIZNET_5100=y and CONFIG_WIZNET_5100_SPI=y. It is my intention to use linux/drivers/net/ethernet/wiznet/w5100-spi.c in order to achieve my goal of SPI->Ethernet. Specific Problems:- I am not sure how to configure SPI4 in the device tree for this application. I am hoping to follow https://gith
Hello,We are currently working with the STM32MP157F-DK2 board and the on-board SDRAM (DDR3L). The memory map says that region (0xC000000-0xDFFFFFFF) is for the DDR system, however when we try to write to some of the memory locations inside this range, the kernel crashes and reboots. Is some of the DDR memory reserved by the kernel? If so, where is the file that contains the mapping for these reserved regions? Thanks.
Hi, on SPI, does anyone know why every 8 bytes then it has a big gap?We tried:1MH, no gap,2MH, gap occurs,4MHz gap bigger,8MH gap bigger than 4MHzSeem higher frequency, bigger gap We don't use DMA
Hello everyone,we have developed a custom board based on stm32mp157 chip. We also forked the tf-a and u-boot from meta-st layer. If we flash an sd card using the flash layout, image works. But my goal is to copy the files from linux host machine, which I did. Now the image does not boot from the sd card. Hi,I am working on cross-compiling one of the third party device driver for running it on STM32MP135F based customize board.Currently in my cross-compilation following errors are triggered with respect to GCC cross-compiler setup using the SDK for OpenSTLinux distribution.Below are the log entries of this errors:make[1]: Entering directory '/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/libportseq'Making lib/libportseq all ...make libportseq.somake[2]: Entering directory '/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/libportseq'arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi-gcc -Wall -I/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/output/include -shared -o libportseq.so portnumber.o/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/sdk_install/sysroots/x86_64-ostl_sdk-linux/usr/libexec/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/gcc/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/12.2.0/ld: cannot find
I completed upto modify a build in linux on board following this link Now i am getting issuses like display doesnt turned on and .Not able to connect with board via ip address. After connect with ttyacm0 its showing like the board has struct in starting kernel. How to overcome this. I cannot able to connect with board terminal via ttyacm0 also
I have been observing a issue in some cards based on STM32MP135f processor that tee-supplicant service getting failed after I program my board. I also observed that modules are not getting loaded. But when I reprogram it then all things become okay. Then no tee-supplicant issue getting failed. We have shorted watchdog jumper before we boot it for first time, whether that can be the issue??? What can be the reason of it, kindly suggest.
STM32MP257F-EV1 availability date is 2024. Do you have a more precise date for this evaluation card?Thank you in advance for your responses.Best regards
