I am attempting to implement a second ethernet interface on STM32MP157F-DK2 by using the Arduino Ethernet Shield, which is based on the Wiznet W5500 chip. The implementation aims to use SPI assigned to A7 core to communicate with the shield, which will then convert the SPI messages to be transferred over Ethernet. I have been unsuccessful in configuring this thus far and would like any help possible. What I have tried so far:- Modification of the kernel was done using the following page: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Distribution_Package 1. Modified the distribution package using menuconfig to include W5500 support such that CONFIG_WIZNET_5100=y and CONFIG_WIZNET_5100_SPI=y. It is my intention to use linux/drivers/net/ethernet/wiznet/w5100-spi.c in order to achieve my goal of SPI->Ethernet. Specific Problems:- I am not sure how to configure SPI4 in the device tree for this application. I am hoping to follow https://gith
Hello,We are currently working with the STM32MP157F-DK2 board and the on-board SDRAM (DDR3L). The memory map says that region (0xC000000-0xDFFFFFFF) is for the DDR system, however when we try to write to some of the memory locations inside this range, the kernel crashes and reboots. Is some of the DDR memory reserved by the kernel? If so, where is the file that contains the mapping for these reserved regions? Thanks.
Hi, on SPI, does anyone know why every 8 bytes then it has a big gap?We tried:1MH, no gap,2MH, gap occurs,4MHz gap bigger,8MH gap bigger than 4MHzSeem higher frequency, bigger gap We don't use DMA
Hello everyone,we have developed a custom board based on stm32mp157 chip. We also forked the tf-a and u-boot from meta-st layer. If we flash an sd card using the flash layout, image works. But my goal is to copy the files from linux host machine, which I did. Now the image does not boot from the sd card. It is showing following error.NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157CAA Rev.ZNOTICE: Model: emtrion DIMM-Argon stm32mp157c, yocto, SDCARDINFO: Reset reason (0x15):INFO: Power-on Reset (rst_por)INFO: FCONF: Reading TB_FW firmware configuration file from: 0x2ffe2000INFO: FCONF: Reading firmware configuration information for: stm32mp_ioINFO: Using EMMCINFO: Instance 2INFO: Boot used partition fsbl1NOTICE: BL2: v2.6-stm32mp1-r2.0(debug):v2.6-dirty(a1f02f4f)NOTICE: BL2: Built : 13:14:26, Nov 23 2021ERROR: Unable to find the partition with the uuid mentioned in metadataDoes anyone have any idea, how to solve this? Hi,I am working on cross-compiling one of the third party device driver for running it on STM32MP135F based customize board.Currently in my cross-compilation following errors are triggered with respect to GCC cross-compiler setup using the SDK for OpenSTLinux distribution.Below are the log entries of this errors:make[1]: Entering directory '/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/libportseq'Making lib/libportseq all ...make libportseq.somake[2]: Entering directory '/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/libportseq'arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi-gcc -Wall -I/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/dev_pkg_src/l2switch_linux_driver_v2.6/output/include -shared -o libportseq.so portnumber.o/home/yantrr/git-repos/synergy/stm_l2_switch/stm_dev_pkg/sdk_install/sysroots/x86_64-ostl_sdk-linux/usr/libexec/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/gcc/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/12.2.0/ld: cannot find
I wrote u-boot video driver for my board. Everything is fine but I cant find the place where STMLinux disables the DSI power loading the kernel. Has anyone succeeded in keeping the u-boot splash screen on during the boot?
I completed upto modify a build in linux on board following this link Now i am getting issuses like display doesnt turned on and .Not able to connect with board via ip address. After connect with ttyacm0 its showing like the board has struct in starting kernel. How to overcome this. I cannot able to connect with board terminal via ttyacm0 also
I have been observing a issue in some cards based on STM32MP135f processor that tee-supplicant service getting failed after I program my board. I also observed that modules are not getting loaded. But when I reprogram it then all things become okay. Then no tee-supplicant issue getting failed. We have shorted watchdog jumper before we boot it for first time, whether that can be the issue??? What can be the reason of it, kindly suggest.
Hello,Can a line entry be added to a TSV file to flash the OTP partition? If yes, is there an example TSV file?If not, would the line below work?#Opt Id Name Type IP Offset BinaryP 0xF2 otp Binary none 0x0 otp.binThanks!
STM32MP257F-EV1 availability date is 2024. Do you have a more precise date for this evaluation card?Thank you in advance for your responses.Best regards
Processor stm32mp157f, our board design similar to dk2.In my STM32CubeMX generated device tree (dunfell) I have added the following:/* USER CODE BEGIN root */soc {vrefbuf@50025000 {status = "disabled";};};/* USER CODE END root */I have my vref pin connected to vdda (for 3.3 reference voltage). However, trying to use the libiio interface to read my ADC's libiio is disabled. If I disconnect my vref pin from vdda and remove the disable of vrefbuf, I have libiio back.I think there must be something else in my device tree I need to set up to tell the kernel that I am using an external vref to get iio back but I don't quite know what.ADC used in the kernel, not in m4
Hi,is anybody able to download latest version of Starter Package ?i'm using address:https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32mp1starter.htmli click "Get latest" , then "Accept" License agreement, then "Login", then shows back download page and nothing more, download is not starting ...
Hello, Using Windows 10 with WSL 2.I have an STM32MP157D-DK1 board and am following the ST guides to get this running. I'm trying to run bitbake to build a basic distribution image, but I keep getting this error. I tried googling but can't find anything relevant. This feels like a i setup something wrong issue ... but I went over the steps I'm supposed to follow and I can't see what I missed. As Mickledore is no longer supported (by yocto) when can we expect an updated yocto release from ST for the stm32mp1 series?
Hello,I have seen that someone posted in the past a post regarding poor performance under linux (refer to https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mpus-products/poor-dm-crypt-benchmark-on-stm32mp157/m-p/104543#M2181).We also have observed such results. Is there a progress regarding using the native HW?Thanks
I just saw this. It's from STM32MP157 discovery board.Notice that DQ9 is attached to E3.This schematic is the RAM DDR memory: They are connected correctly. The index of DQU2 is the 10:th index of DQ, also DQ10. But the naming of the net labels seems to be wrong. This picture is the footprint of the RAM DDR memory. But here is where things getting werid.Noticie that E3 was DDR_DQ9, but it was actually DQ0 according to the datasheet. The same for DDR_DQ5, it was DQ10.Here is the microprocessor STM32MP157. Notice that they are not correctly indexed. My question is: Why? Why will this work according to the schematic designers? This schematic is the symbol of the STM32MP157 processor.
I want to make my rootfs writable read only for STM32mp135f processor using https://github.com/marcusfolkesson/meta-readonly-rootfs-overlay/tree/mickledore this layer. Although I am adding this layer into my build process successfully but my rootfs is not becoming overlay type rootfs(means if edit some file in it then changes should not exist after reset). I have used this layer for Renesas processor where this layer incorporate into init script and works properly.Kindly give some solution !
Hi everyone,we are in the middle of bringing up a custom board using the STM32MP131. Booting from an SD card already works. However, we would like to use the STM32CubeProgrammer to directly connect the board via USB. For this, the OTG USB pins OTG_HS_DP and OTG_HS_DM are wired to a USB-A socket. The socket is then connected to a PC using a USB-A to USB-A cable. In serial boot mode, the LED on BOOTFAILN blinks at 5Hz, but the device does not show up on the computer.I assume that this is a hardware issue since USB boot should work before any software is loaded on the device. USB boot works with the STM32MP135-DK, so it should not be a driver issue either. On our board, OTG_HS_ID (PA10) is left floating. This pin has an internal pull-up, which should signal device mode by default. OTG_HS_VBUS (PI7) is also left floating. On the DK-board it is connected to the LCD, so it should also be optional. Power is supplied seperately via the STPMIC1. The MPU and USB port are wired like this:I am uns

I'm going to build my own computer by using STM32MP157 and install OpenSTLinux onto it. The powering for STM32MP157 can be done via USB-C connection, but that requires an USB-C charger of 5 volts. Can I skip that and only using a regular charger like 3.5 DC jack? I know that there are two pins that are connected to STM32MP157 processor. They are USB_PWR_CC1 and USB_PWR_CC2. They are connected to PA5 and PA4 at the processor.Who is using these pins? Is it the OpenSTLinux? Do I really need them?
Hi,please can somebody give me a hint how to flash OpenSTLinux onto SD card on board STM32MP135F-DK ?i'm under specific condition, currently i can't download Starter package (some unknown technical problem) which includes utility : STM32_Programmer_CLI,and i just built Distribution package using bitbake after 6 hours ...i'm reading howto :https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP13_Discovery_kits_-_Starter_Package#Flash_microSD_card

Dear board,I intend to let the Cortex M4 and Cortex A7 cores of the stm32mp151A via Openamp. On the Cortex M4 the firmware runs on FreeRTOS, and I am studying the example provided.I see the implementation suggests that the library provided is not RTOS compatible and not thread safe and one should not use RTOS functions such as queues or semaphores within the callbacks. The example provided in facts uses a polling strategy to check for new messages.Source (readme 'note' section of the freertos echo example):https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeMP1/blob/master/Projects/STM32MP157C-DK2/Applications/OpenAMP/OpenAMP_FreeRTOS_echo/readme.txtThere are also other threads over the internet where the rtos (un)safety of openamp is discussed.https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mpus-embedded-software/openamp-and-freertos-on-stm32mp1/td-p/209830https://github.com/OpenAMP/open-amp/issues/217Is there somewhere a Freertos friendly release of the openamp library for this microprocessor/microcontr
