Hi,I'm currently figuring out about the new ANA0 / ANA1 pins.As far as I understand, those pins are always connected to the ADC so that I don't need to touch the GPIO registers in order to use those pins. Is my understanding correct? Also I can connect those pin to PA0 / PA1 using ANAx_SEL bits in SYSCFG_PMCR register. In this case is it possible to short or damage the circuit/chip when I set different signal between ANAx and PAx?Thanks a lot!
Hello,i have a problem when tring to establish a ethernet connection with the STM32MP157-DK2 board.Windows 10 -64bit system, no firewall, no antivirus. DHCP enabled.Tried with cross & straight CAT6 ethernet cable.I cannot establish a SSH connection with the board trough putty on port 22.The yellow LED from the ethernet connector is blinking, the GREN led is off.In the board "netdata perf monitor" i have no ethernet connection.I wonder what i am missing here? Here is the ifconfigroot@stm32mp1:~# ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:80:E1:42:55:EF inet6 addr: fe80::280:e1ff:fe42:55ef/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:66 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:48 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:9472 (9.2 KiB) TX bytes:8923 (8.7 KiB) Interrupt:60 Base address:0x8000 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBAC
I have a STM32MP157C-DK2, and I'm interested in better understanding how the IPCC peripheral works. I've tried out the OpenAMP echo example and trawled through its code, and the associated HAL code. I have generally completely avoided the HAL for microcontroller projects - I prefer to write my own bare metal drivers in C++.IPCC seems like a very simple peripheral, but I am slightly confused by the implementation in HAL (and the Linux driver appears to do the same thing). When checking the RX/occupied status of a channel, both implementations read the SR register of the "other" processor. That is, the M4 uses the registers in IPCC_C2 to communicate, and the A7 uses IPCC_C1. But the M4 uses IPCC_C1->SR in HAL_IPCC_RX_IRQHandler(). What is the relationship between the two SR registers? It seems like in principle that they should have the same values, except maybe when transitioning. My understanding is that if the A7 sets a channel bit using SCR, the M4 gets an RX/occupied interrupt; i
Hi,I'm currently working on porting Arduino Core for STM32 to STM32MP1 Cortex M4 core. Here are some stuff I found:Typo: I post it in the Github: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeMP1/pull/1Possible bugs in HAL driver: stm32mp1xx_hal_conf_template.h includes some modules and definitions that STM32CubeMP1 doesn't actually have, such as "stm32mp1xx_hal_eth.h", "stm32mp1xx_hal_rtc.h", "stm32mp1xx_hal_smartcard.h", HAL_ETH_MODULE_ENABLED....etc. I'm not sure if it is a bug or something intentional. The Section 4.1 "STM32 product cross-compatibility" in AN5253 "Migrating from STM32F469/479 line to STM32MP151, STM32MP153 and STM32MP157 lines" has some misleading contents. Specifically, it describes as if the Cortex M4 core supports OTGFS, OTGHS, and RTC (probably more) but the STM32Cube package does not actually support those peripherals. Does this mean that it is planned to support those, or the AN is misleading?Thank you.
Hi ST Community,i am trying to debug firmware on cortex-m4 of STM32MP157-Eval. i had success debugging OpenAmp_TTY_echo example as instructed in https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Modify,_rebuild_and_reload_a_firmware. But while trying to debug a simple hello world example by same method, the Debug button is always deactive and i am not getting any kind of error or missing setting on debug window as well.Could you please guide me, what i am missing here?Best Regards,Bhinder
Hi, it looks like the Cortex M4 core in SMP32MP1 doesn't have flash memory or something like eeprom that can be used as non-volatile memory. Is there any "best practices" to give non-volatile data to the Cortex M4?
Hi,i am trying to understand where and how are RETRAM, MCUSRAM, virtio ring buffer descriptors and virtio buffers allocated. In the next link:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Linux_remoteproc_framework_overviewIt is described the device tree configurations for these reserved-memories. These device tree nodes are read by the st_remoteproc.c driver within the st_rproc_parse_fw function. Inside st_rproc_parse_fw memory regions are registered calling rproc_mem_entry_init and rproc_of_resm_mem_entry_init which are declared in remoteproc_core.c.My question is where these memories and buffers are allocated? Which functions are used to allocated them? dma_alloc_coherent() function for example does not look the right function as we have fixed physical addresses that need to be mapped to share specific memories between MPU and MCU.Thanks

We are a connecting a sensor to M4 side and reading the data through UART7. UART7 is enabled for M4 by modifying the Linux Kernel Device tree and TF-A .dtsi files. Device tree file for TF-A is generated through STM32CubeMX. and Placed the generated files in the /fdts folder of TF-A(Which was downloaded from stm git) and built it and loaded to the board using the given procedure. We are able to read the UART data correctly when OPENAMP_Init() is not used. This is blocker for our project and urgent help would be appreciated.Thank you.
Hello, I have a STM32MP157C-DK2 board and I would like to install some packages. But in /etc/apt/sources.list.d there is no sources.list file with repository links to a server. The folder soures.list.d is empty. Where can I get this link to update system and download some packages.Best regards,Marius
I am working on a product. For prototype, I have used Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with Raspbian operating system and firmware in Python 3. For GUI, I used TkInter library. For mass production, I am trying to figure a cost-effective option, and I came across STM32WB series. I am wondering if STM32WB micro controllers (or any ST micro controllers) support the following:Raspberry o/sPython 3TkInter GUI libraryPlease advise.
Hello.recently i get STM32MP1 chips, and i want to use it id devkit with FPGA. But i can't use CUbeMX to get pin definitions, as well as where is no examples that i aware of C code examples, just like with any other chip STM makes. When we get full support on this part ?Also is where 32b connection example for DDR3L ?
Hello,Sorry for the basic question, but i have installed the SDK(en.SDK-x86_64-stm32mp1-openstlinux-4.19-thud-mp1-19-02-20.tar), started it as per this article:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Developer_Package#Starting_up_the_SDKI get all the correct responses:echo $ARCH -> armecho $CROSS_COMPILE -> arm-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi-$CC --version -> arm-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi-gcc (GCC) 8.2.0echo $OECORE_SDK_VERSION -> 2.6-openstlinux-4.19-thud-mp1-19-02-20Also installed gtk+ 3.0 on the Ubuntu machine running 16.04 LTS, 64 bit. When i compile the GTK hello_world example:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157C-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Create_a_simple_hello-world_applicationi always get x86 executable, not ARM. Any help please, thank you!K.
Dear Members / ST Employee,I saw :https://hackaday.com/2019/02/27/new-part-day-the-stm32-that-runs-linux/Is there any other variant of STM32 that affordable ?Thanks
I noticed cpufrequtils are installed in the default image. But when you run cpufreq-info you get a message that indicates it is not supported.root@stm32mp1:~# cpufreq-info cpufrequtils 008: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009 Report errors and bugs to cpufreq@vger.kernel.org, please. analyzing CPU 0: no or unknown cpufreq driver is active on this CPU analyzing CPU 1: no or unknown cpufreq driver is active on this CPUI then updated the kernel to include the cpu frequency scaling code, but I get the same error.I'm trying to reduce the power consumption of the target platform. So I have done the following:1) Unplugged the LCD2) Switched Ethernet to 10/100 instead of Gigabit Ethernet, this drops the power by 200 mW.3) Trying to reduce core clocks and turn off peripherals.Does anyone have any other suggestions to reduce power?
Hi ST Community,i am using STM32CubeIDE. But i can not create an example project as i am getting the following error. But according to old posts related to STM32MP157, other users have created the example project successfully. Need some help please for getting started.i am using STM32CubeIDE v1.0.0. Hi ST Community,I am trying to install the linux image on STM32MP157x-EVAL (as given in https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-EV1/Let%27s_start/Populate_the_target_and_boot_the_image ), But i am getting issue related to LCD output after booting from SD-Card. well all steps are ok till flashing SD-Card i.e.Flashing service completed successfullyBut the issue is after booting from SD card, i am getting nothing on LCD, could anyone give me suggestion, what went wrong. Why i am not getting the UBoot splash screen.P.S: b000 was used for flashing and b101 was used for booting from SD Card. and jumper settings are as JP3 [12], JP4[23], JP5[23]. Best Regards
When loading the device tree below, I see the soundcard in alsa. But I don't see any clock out for the microphones, and I can't record from this device. Hi,I'm following https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_secure_boot tutorialI'd like to perform a few checks before programming OTP WORD 24 to 31 since, as usual, and as indicated in STM32MP1 reference manual:An OTP word can be written in multiple shuts. The word value is updatable by adding bits to1, but a bit already set to 1, cannot be written back at 0I have generated signing keys.I have TF-A firmware signed with them.I can see TF-A header is indeed updated with a 512 bits signature value and a 512 bits pub key value (so as algorithm value). Is there an existing implemented way to:confirm publicKeyhash.bin is matching public key (and algorithm if I understand well) value embedded in firmware header ?more generically, perform firmware authentication from an external host PC ?This would be for me a way to be 101% sure before programming OTP.Thanks in advance for any useful feedback.Cheers,Alexandre.
Hello,my STM32MP1157C-DK2 is up and running. I can use the Stlink with other tools. However stm32cubeprogrammer does no show the disco stlink. Is this a know issue?
I've tried to create a bootable CD card image using both the Starter image as well as a Yocto built image. In both cases the device fails to boot. I've gone into stm32mp1-openstlinux-4.19-thud-mp1-19-02-20/images/stm32mp1 directory and then run:scripts/create_sdcard_from_flashlayout.sh flashlayout_st-image-weston/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157c-dk2-basic.tsvThis creates a .RAW image and instruction on how to load that onto the SD card. I then run:sudo dd if=flashlayout_st-image-weston/../flashlayout_st-image-weston_FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157c-dk2-basic.raw of=/dev/sdb bs=8M conv=fdatasync status=progressWhen this is done I insert the SD card into the stm32mp157c-dk2 board and set both boot dip switches to on. I then apply power and nothing happens. There is no output on the terminal. Is this method supported?
I have a STM32F746 discovery board and tried to compile a linux following this git:https://github.com/fdu/STM32F746G-disco_BuildrootAfter a lot of fiddling (because of file names not matching) I ended up with the files. According to wireshark the files were transmitted onto the STM32, but the screen remains white and nothing shows success.Anything I can try?Best regards
Hi,I'm going through the wiki to try and solve the issues I'm finding on the bring-up of our board.I found something that could be interesting for me , so from this page I try to access the "How to create a layer with device tree files generated via STM32CubeMX" wiki page, but whe I click on it, I get a "Permission error" and can not see anything. Is this an error or do I need some kind of special permission?Kind regards,j
I have an application that needs to use libusb. Is there a simple way to add this to the system (using STM32MP157C-DK2).
