is there a way to tell the kernel (I'm using the Distribution Package) to use a specific pin (not the built-in DE signal) to control the Data Enable of an rs485 transceiver whenever I write something to the related tty?
Hi all,i am trying to interface es8388 to I2S3 bus,Here are fragments from device tree : sound { compatible = "audio-graph-card"; label = "STM32MP1-SOM"; routing = "Playback" , "MCLK", "Capture" , "MCLK", "MICL" , "Mic Bias"; dais = <&i2s3_port>; status = "okay"; }; ............................................. &pinctrl { i2s3_pins_a: i2s3-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 8, AF5)>, /* I2S3_SDO */ <STM32_PINMUX('A', 4, AF6)>, /* I2S3_WS */ <STM32_PINMUX('B', 3, AF6)>, /* I2S3_CK */ <STM32_PINMUX('B', 4, AF6)>, /* I2S3_SDI */ <STM32_PINMUX('C', 7, AF6)>; /* I2S3_MCK */ slew-rate = <1>; drive-push-pull; bias-disable; }; }; i2s3_pins_sleep_a: i2s3-1 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 8, ANALOG)>, /* I2S3_SDO */ <STM32_PINMUX('A', 4, ANALOG)>, /* I2S3_WS */ <STM32_PINMUX('B', 3, ANALOG)>, /* I2S3_CK */ <STM32_PINMUX('B', 4, ANALOG)>, /* I2S3_

We have a custom board using the STM32MP157C chip and we are having a problem with the USB programming via the CubeMXProgrammer. Our system is working and we have a tf-a.stm32 binary image, a functional u-boot.st32 image and a working rootfs Linux system. We can boot from SDCard and from eMMC.I have read the flashlayout document which explains the TSV file format and created a layout file for programming the eMMC flash however we are running in to issues actually programming the device via USB.Here is our TSV file #Opt Id Name Type IP Offset Binary - 0x01 fsbl1-boot Binary none 0x0 tf-a-stm32mp157c.stm32 - 0x03 ssbl-boot Binary none 0x0 u-boot.stm32 PD 0x02 fsbl1 Binary mmc1 boot1 tf-a-stm32mp157c.stm32 PD 0x04 fsbl2 Binary mmc1 boot2 tf-a-stm32mp157c.stm32 PD 0x05 ssbl Binary mmc1 0x00100000 u-boot.stm32 PD 0x10 rootfs System mmc1 0x00300000 rootfs.ext2The TSV file is parsed correctly by STM32_Programmer
According to wiki article https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_Discovery_kits_-_Starter_Package#Image_flashing it takes "several minutes" to flash partitions.Flashing bitbake optenstlinux 2.0 (distribution package) or starter image to SDCard of my STM32MP157c-DK2 board takes several hours (~4h)! Is this normal?
We are using rauc to perform remote updates on your target devices. However, to create the rauc bundle, rauc uses a different image format than the ST image created. The default imagesource in rauc is:imgsource = "%s-%s.%s" % (d.getVar('RAUC_SLOT_%s' % slot), machine, img_fstype) in file https://github.com/rauc/meta-rauc/blob/345732f8ef81700e5ca17b4e6a66ae33019cb73b/classes/bundle.bbclass#L197which I edited to:imgsource = "%s-%s-%s.%s" % (d.getVar('RAUC_SLOT_%s' % slot), "openstlinux", machine, img_fstype)What would be the best way to comply with the filenames created by the ST yocto distribution? What do you suggest?
I have a new STM32MP157C-DK2, it stops (hangs) very often.Especially when I run a demo. The 3D GPU demo runs no longer than 30 seconds. The Video playback doesn't finish mostly and then the system crashes again. Is this a known problem. Are there updates needed?I have used several power sources and cables, but no luck.Any ideas how to solve this, or do I need to have it replaced?
I'm currently working with the Seed STM32MP1 SoM which has STPMIC1 attached to I2C2. I've been working on setting up a device tree for it, but I've been hitting some bugs. When booting the mainline ATF with my device tree (modified DK2 board, just with the PMIC on I2C2) it worked fine, but I wanted to use UART and the cube programmer so I did the same with the ST v2.2-stm32mp-r1 ATF branch. I hit this error:PANIC at PC : 0x2ffdd907 Exception mode=0x00000016 at: 0x0000d8c3I narrowed the issue down to a commit which disables clocks based on the boot mode. This code seems to fix it:diff --git a/drivers/st/clk/stm32mp1_clk.c b/drivers/st/clk/stm32mp1_clk.c index 5efe343b8..f99c72922 100644 --- a/drivers/st/clk/stm32mp1_clk.c +++ b/drivers/st/clk/stm32mp1_clk.c @@ -390,6 +390,10 @@ static const struct stm32mp1_clk_gate stm32mp1_clk_gate[] = { _CLK_SC_SELEC(N_S, RCC_MP_APB1ENSETR, 18, UART7_K, _UART78_SEL), _CLK_SC_SELEC(N_S, RCC_MP_APB1ENSETR, 19, UART8_K, _UART78_SEL), #endif + _
I am trying to add nodejs to the distribution. Nodejs recipe is alreaddy present in the layers but whn i bitbake the recipe there is a very long error, hence i am not able to build it. i have seen the recipe and the compatible machines are defined as COMPATIBLE_MACHINE_armv4 = "(!.*armv4).*" COMPATIBLE_MACHINE_armv5 = "(!.*armv5).*" COMPATIBLE_MACHINE_mips64 = "(!.*mips64).*"is this something related to this? how can i add the nodejs as well as npm in my yocto os?

I'm trying to make FreeRTOS application which is involving ADC and sending messages via virtual UART to Cortex A7. So I began with example called OpenAMP_FreeRTOS_echo in the cube fw version 1.2.0. That example worked good. I saw echo on /dev/ttyRPMSG0. Then I tried to incorporate ADC into that code but without success (I made succes with ADC + virtual UART without using FreeRTOS, but I want to make FreeRTOS working). I had a lot of trouble using System Workbench in terms of ST-Link detection (I always had to change COM port in the Debug Configuration) and I read on this forum that there were troubles in using FreeRTOS and those troubles are solved in Cube IDE 1.2.1. https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000BI0vctSQB/freertos-does-not-run-on-stm32mp1-m4-coreSo I recently switched to Cube IDE v1.4.0, but there I have trouble on stopping on breakpoint. I placed break point on lines after main which must be executed (i.e. HAL_Init), but the debug is not stopped. Thanks in advance for t
Hi,I'm trying to have some accurate perf measurements with the STM32MP1 for my program on Linux. I've tried several things, among them to use perf Linux tool. The number of cycles does not match the time elapsed, i.e. the freq processor is at 650Mhz and doing nbre_of_cyles/freq, I 'm quite far way from time elapsed (ratio around 3).I've tried with freq scaling activated and desactivated, I've the same results.Any clue ?
any document is welcome.
Hello dear.I try change touch driver so i try refer "https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Touchscreens_hardware_components" page. But The page said "permission error".What can i do solve it?Thank you.
Hello,We are considering the STM32MP151x MPU for a new project. However we need at least 20 independent PWM outputs (at the same frequency but different duty cycle). After reading the datasheet, it is still not clear to me how many PWMs STM32MP151x has.TIM1, TIM8 ==> 2 x 6 independent channels (at the same frequency) ?TIM2, TIM3, TIM4, TIM5 ==> 4 independent channels ?TIM13, TIM14, TIM16, TIM17 ==> 4 independent channels ?TIM12, TIM15 ==> 4 independent channels ?Total 24, am I right ?ThanksHugo
Hello,i'm currently trying to attach a TI DP83848CVV phy to the STM32MP157. We have an external 50MHZ clock which is supplied to the PHY and PA1 (ETH1_REF_CLK).These are the pinctrl values (generated by CubeMX):ethernet0_rmii_pins: rmii-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 1, AF11)>, /* ETH1_REF_CLK */ <STM32_PINMUX('B', 12, AF11)>, /* ETH1_TXD0 */ <STM32_PINMUX('C', 1, AF11)>, /* ETH1_MDC */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 14, AF11)>; /* ETH1_TXD1 */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <1>; }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 2, AF11)>; /* ETH1_MDIO */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; pins3 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 7, AF11)>, /* ETH1_CRS_DV */ <STM32_PINMUX('C', 4, AF11)>, /* ETH1_RXD0 */ <STM32_PINMUX('C', 5, AF11)>, /* ETH1_RXD1 */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 12, AF11)>; /* ETH1_PHY_INTN */ bias-disable; }; pi
I'm trying to connect to my DK2 from STM32CubeIDE but the ST LInk port doesn't seem to work. In Device Manager I see "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I tried several cables and ports on my PC.I should mention that I'm running a minimal Ubuntu but used the kernel from the ST build process, I just swapped out the rootfs with the Ubuntu version. When I switch back to the stock SD card image the port shows up as VID/PID 0x1D6B/0x0104 but I can't install any drivers for it.How does whatever I program into the SD card affect how the ST Link USB port shows up?Thanks,ANdrew

Greetings everyoneThere is a wiki article (closed to the public) about enabling Jailhouse on STM32MP1x that lead me to believe that the STM32MP15x 's Dual Cortex-A7 cores implement the Virtualization Extensions. To my understanding, the reference manuals do not state anything about its implementation, apart from its support reported in the GIC and Debug sections.I need some clarity about this matter: Does anybody know if the Virtualization Extensions are implemented on the STM32MP15x's cores but not (yet?) documented in the ST reference manuals?Link to the referenced article: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_enable_Jailhouse
Hi everyone, i am trying to run Distribution package from the STM on UBUNTU. It works fine with normal source command and make a build directory just by the folder of 'layers'. but how can i add my own build directory e.g. /mybuild/build_folder? I have tried the BUILD_DIR="dir" but it doesnt work and gives an error of ..[source layers/openembedded-core/oe-init-build-env][from nothing]Error: TEMPLATECONF value points to nonexistent directory '../../../layers/meta-st/meta-st-openstlinux/conf/template'
