HI,all, env:virtualbox, ubuntu18.04 64bits, 10G memory,500G disk. I tried to build rootfs image from stm32 Yocto prject, followed by wiki(https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package). but I got some error at last like below. I am a newer for YOCTO, what can I do next? any idea? Thanks a lot.error log:ERROR: st-image-resize-initrd-1.0-r0 do_rootfs: The postinstall intercept hook 'update_font_cache' failed, details in /media/kevin/D2/openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1/tmp-glibc/work/stm32mp1-ostl-linux-gnueabi/st-image-resize-initrd/1.0-r0/temp/log.do_rootfsERROR: Logfile of failure stored in: /media/kevin/D2/openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1/tmp-glibc/work/stm32mp1-ostl-linux-gnueabi/st-image-resize-initrd/1.0-r0/temp/log.do_rootfs.11363ERROR: Task (/media/kevin/D2/openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12/layers/meta-st/meta-st-openstlinux/recipes-st/images/st-image-resize-initrd.bb:do_rootfs) failed
I've been using Ecosystem v2.0 without any issues now. We decided to move to v2.1 recently, followed the instructions from https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package to get the latest package. Then, as I did before, followed the instructions from https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/index.php/How_to_create_your_own_machine to create the distribution for our custom board. But running bitbake-st-image-weston failed because it could not create project.dtb as the project.dts files were not copied from the meta-st-stm32mp-addons folder to their respective folders in tf-a, u-boot and kernel.Has anything changed in v2.1 with regards to custom device tree file placement?
I am working with the STM32MP1-DK2 development board and am trying to use RAUC to do image updates. I am using an SD card with two bootfs and rootfs partitions with one pair being active at a time. Currently I'm in the uboot integration stage where I need to create a script to change the active bootfs and rootfs, below is an example that rauc provides. I've looked at the uboot environment variables but can't seem to find which ones set boot and rootfs partition to use?I see reference to a scan that is done to detect a bootfs but not sure how to modify it. For this application the partitions are going to not change so maybe it's better to remove the scan all together and hardcode the values.uboot env:altbootcmd=run bootcmd android_mmc_boot=mmc dev ${devnum};run android_mmc_splash;run android_mmc_fdt;run android_mmc_kernel;bootm ${kernel_addr_r} - ${fdt_addr_r}; android_mmc_fdt=if part start mmc ${devnum} dt_${suffix} dt_start &&part size mmc ${devnum} dt_${suffix} dt_size;then m
I Installed the Development on my host machine and builded a Kernel with this tutorial:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/meta-st-stm32mp/blob/dunfell/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-stm32mp/README.HOW_TO.txtbut afther the reboot my scren keeps beeing black.I updated the kernel because the development tool has a newer kernel and i wanted to make a kernel module so i wanted to update.
Is there a way to enable onscreen keyboard (on STM32MP1 with touchscreen)? For example to type something in terminal or use it with graphical libraries like GTK.
Hi everyone,I want to make a LoRa gateway using the STM32MP157C-DK2 and ICC880A-SPI boards. For that, I have to implement SPI communication between the two boards. I already did the hardware connections, but I am not able to enable SPI on the STM32MP157C-DK2.I want to set up SPI5 on the STM32 board (M4 context) and I use CubeMX to get the device tree (DT) files that I need. Then I modify the stm32mp157c-dk2.dts file that is already present in the Distribution package with the files given by CubeMX, before cross-compiling the Linux kernel and updating the kernel image on the board. I have attached the stm32mp157c-dk2.dts file to this post, with all the modifications I made. I also added the line DECPROT(STM32MP1_ETZPC_SPI5_ID, DECPROT_NS_RW, DECPROT_UNLOCK) in &etzpc section within TFA.When I reboot the STM32MP157C-DK2 board, I cannot see anything showing that SPI was correctly implemented (I2C is working and the red LED is on, so the DT is well updated). More, the folder /sys/
i am not able to flash the image in stm32mp157c-dk2
STM32MP157-DK2 with Buildroot image.I'm running a Qt app on the A7 core and using QSerial to talk to the M4 core using OpenAMP to talk through ttyRPMSG0. Right now it takes ~10ms to send/receive from Qt to M4. Is there anything I can do to decrease this time to say 1ms?The ttyRPMSG0 port has a baud rate of 38400, but I don't see a way to increase that. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Does GPU support OpenCL, and if so, are there examples?
Hi ,I am using STM32MP157C-DK2 board I just trying to load the flash image in to the SD card. facing issue reconnecting the device. We want to display a camera stream in a QML application on our STM32MP157C-based board. When we use the default QML widgets, the framerate is too low, under 10 fps.We try to solve the problem by using GStreamer's qmlglsink with GstGLVideoItem: it works on PC, but on the STM32MP157C it crashes with a segmentation fault in the "gcoTEXTURE_GetMipMap()" function, provided by the GCnano firmware. The GCnano source code is not available. How could we solve the crash?Note: more complete description on https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000Mh8kqSAB/hellowe-have-an-issue-with-qml-multimedia-to-display-camera-stream-the-result-is-not-smooth-while-with-qt-widgets-it-works-fine-gstreamer-pipeline-from-command-line-works-as-well
Hi,I'm trying to send and receive data over an I2C port.Working with STM32MP15 ecosystem release v2.0.0 (concrete STM32MP157F-EV1 and openstlinux 5.4 dunfell) and i2c-tools. STM32MP157c-EV1 is connected with two QSPI NOR flash chips. When programming NOR flash using the CubeProgrammer using tsv file, it automatically programs the two NOR flash in Dual-Flash QSPI mode.My requirement is to program just the Single Flash chip connected to BK1.how can I tell the CubeProgrammer to do this?
I have a new problem about serial communication. When UART sends and receives data quickly, there will be FIFO error. This is my code
Hi, i dont know if it is a stupid question or not but anyways, I was following the STM32MP157A-DK2 tutorial for developing on ARM Cortex A7 i maked the example given for hello_world.c with given makefike. Hello totgehet,i wanted to build a Kernelmodule for my Projekt so i started to install the SDK and wrote a simple Programm to see if i can make a Programm in the userspace. This works fine. My next step was to Building and deploying the Linux kernel. For that I followed the installation https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Developer_Package. But when I want to Compile and install on a build directory I get this error from the makefil:make ARCH=arm uImage vmlinux dtbs LOADADDR=0xC2000040 O="$PWD/../build"make[1]: Entering directory '/opt/st/stm32mp1/3.1-openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12/stm32mp1-openstlinux-5-4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12/sources/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/linux-stm32mp-5.4.56-r0/build' GEN Makefilescripts/kconfig/conf --syncconfig Kconfig GEN Makefile SYSHDR arch/arm/include/generated/uapi/asm/unistd-common.h SYSHDR arch/arm/include/generated/uapi/asm/unistd-oabi.h SYSHDR arch/arm/

Hi, I tried to follow the example in the youtube workshop, moving a pwm timer to the a7 side. I was able to create a dts file with cube mx but when running make to build the dtb i get"reference to non existent node or label "ethernet_mac_address""Is it possibly some mismatch between versions of cube and the openst dist? Thanks

Hi,I need to supply external VREF for ADC which is assigned to M4 runtime context. Now when I start M4 firmware VREFBUF is activated (I'm measuring 2.5V on AVDD pin on DK2 kit). I suppose that I need to edit device tree, but I'm not sure. Can I for example set 3v3 supply in device tree and then connect wire between 3v3 and AVDD on DK2 board? How this can be done? Thanks in advance,Nenad
when i using a 100M network cable in a gigabit network,It should be recognized as a 100M network under normal circumstances,But STM32MP1 is recognized as Gigabit,at this time the network is useless, led is light but not blink,I changing cable to a Gigabit Ethernet cable solved the problem,I am using stm32mp157c-dk2
Hello,My goal is to harden my Hardware security. I am using an STM32MP157C and buildroot as main distro. What exactly do I need to know when it comes to security? I am dealing with the hardware part and I am working on an IoT project. My colleague takes care of the server Tel. We have already successfully transferred sensor data to the server. But I don't think I can improve network security from a hardware point of view, do I? I don't have access to the server.I want to secure my hardware, but in my mind I don't see many options (not my domain) besides managing file permissions and isolating some personal scripts in another user profile. For hardware security, we can start with a hardened kernel that custom compiles with priority over priority. Then we can have the root encrypted using LUKS or another option out of many. Data encryption before sending it to a server may be considered here. I also can use strong passwords and use a password manager like pass or even the Gnome keyring.A nu
Hi,Im pretty new here, to be exact it is 2 weeks that i started learning/working with STM32MP157A-DK1, i did all the getting started tutorials on the wiki, now im looking at the CubeIDE, i dont know where to go.Basically i want to learn about writing data into SD card (wthich data comes from ethernet) using DMA but dont know where to start, if there is a place for me that i can find some examples for IDE that could be great. I have average knowledge on c++ i can read every useful piece of code or paper, right now im really lost and dont know what to do.The other topic is can i add aditional libraries in to the IDE and how do i i do that, in C# i can basically do it with nuget packages, but i never used CubeIDE, i also want to learn thatEverything helps,i will be waiting for some guidance.
