On my custom board, I configured PZ0, PZ1, PZ2 for SPI1 with device tree, and linux kernel probed successfully and populate spidev node and it works fine, but if look at debug information in /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/, it populate something like "pin 400 (PZ0): device 44004000.spi function analog group PZ0", I expect "AF5" for pin function instead of "analog", especailly for this case it has configured as SPI alternate pin already. Is this a kernel bug or some trick I have to do with device tree?
Hi, I've created a SD card following this guide. The generated SD card partitions can be seen in the screenshot here below. It seems to boot correctly until the kernel prompts the following error:[ 4.200445] ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,6) ]---How to solve this?Thank you.
Hey,we have an issue when waking up our STM32MP153 from suspend-to-ram. The wireless LAN won't respond and we get the following error messages through serial port:ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_run_escan: error (-110) ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_cfg80211_scan: scan error (-110) brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_bus_sleep: error while changing bus sleep state -110 brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_txfail: sdio error, abort command and terminate frame brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_txfail: sdio error, abort command and terminate frameMaybe someone has encountered the same issue and can help.Thank you in advance! :)
Hi everyone,A significant part of the ST team monitoring this Community and based in France will take some vacation during August. Of course, few ST people will remain on board, but you may probably observe a slow-down in participation from ST. Thanks for your understanding, and thanks for your participation in this Community !Olivier on behalf on MPU Community ST moderation team
Hi all,I would like to add debian source list to the existing sources in OpenSTLinux.I created a file mysources.list under folder /etc/apt/sources.list and added following lines to itdeb http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian/ buster main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.au.debian.org/debian/ buster main contrib non-freeRunning apt-get update results in the GPG Signature error where in OpenSTLinux complains that it is not secure repo and it won't update from it. How can i get past this ? It is important to me to add this. Any inputs will be appreciated.
Help on customizing the device treeI installed my starter package according to instructions at https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_Discovery_kits_-_Starter_PackageAnd the developer package following instructions at https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Developer_PackageThen on developing my projects, I realized that I need a different device tree than what was provided in those two packages, because the CAN bus is not defined in those installations, and that is the core of my project. Then I read this bloghttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Developer_PackageSomewhere, it requires to navigate to "Device Drivers - Generic Driver Options"select "Size in Megabytes"modify its value to 256exit and save the new configurationThe problem is: if you follow those instructions, there is no option to select “Size in Megabytes,? which left in darkness!!Somewhere in the next page it advises to change directory to the <Linux kernel build director
Hi, I am trying to compile an OpenSTLinux image for a target "DK2_A7" custom machine.I've followed this guide and everything seems ok until 98% of the process when the following error occurs:ERROR: tf-a-stm32mp-2.4.r1-r0 do_compile: oe_runmake failed ERROR: tf-a-stm32mp-2.4.r1-r0 do_compile: Execution of '/home/ubuntu/customer/openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1-DK2_A7/tmp-glibc/work/stm32mp1_DK2_A7-ostl-linux-gnueabi/tf-a-stm32mp/2.4.r1-r0/temp/run.do_compile.27013' failed with exit code 1: make: Entering directory '/home/ubuntu/customer/openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1-DK2_A7/tmp-glibc/work-shared/stm32mp1-DK2_A7/tfa-source' Including bl32/sp_min/sp_min.mk make: *** No rule to make target 'fdts/stm32mp157c-dk2_a7-mx-fw-config.dts', needed by '/home/ubuntu/customer/openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1-DK2_A7/tmp-glibc/work/stm32mp1_DK2_A7-ostl-linux-gn
DISTRO : <no-custom-config-set>DISTRO_CODENAME : dunfellMACHINE : stm32mp1-discoI followed instructions from: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package#Installing_the_Starter_PackageI initialized repo with:repo init -u https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/oe-manifest.git -b refs/tags/openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31I initialized build environment with command:DISTRO=nodistro MACHINE=stm32mp1-disco source layers/meta-st/scripts/envsetup.shThat initialization took only few layers from the manifested layers.I run:bitbake core-image-minimaland got the error that nothing provides "mesa".I added qt layer, but it did not make any difference.Should I add some more layers to get builder happy or is this basic "distro" not functional?
Hi everyone,I'm coding an applicaction which needs to send data from CM4 to CA7 through RPMSG framework. FreeRTOS task involved:void t0Task(void *argument) { int count = 0x0, sim_ch = 9; const int SIZE_DATA = 7; unsigned char msg[SIZE_DATA * sim_ch], msg2[SIZE_DATA]; TickType_t xLastWakeTime; const TickType_t xFrequency = 1; while (1) { xLastWakeTime = xTaskGetTickCount(); msg[0] = '\0'; int i; for (i = 0; i < sim_ch; i++) { sprintf(msg2, "%06X", count); strcat(msg, msg2); strcat(msg, " "); count = (count + 1) % 0xFFFFFF; } VIRT_UART_Transmit(&virtUART0, (uint8_t*)msg, strlen(msg)); vTaskDelayUntil( &xLastWakeTime, xFrequency ); } }I need to achieve a throughput near 1.5 MB/s - for that, "sim_ch" variable should be 128.When this firmware is executing, an error appears after few seconds: "rpmsg_tty virtio0.rpmsg-tty-channel.-1.0: No memory for tty_prepare_flip_string". How can I solve it?Thanks,Oscar
There are no repos defined in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/I can't seem to use apt-get to install git or nano or anything....
HI,Is it possible to write and compile c++ user space application for stm3m2mp1?If yes how ?
Hi, I need to edit the "stm32mp1.c" file inside the uboot sources, in particular I have to set the following change on line 413:nb_blink = 4; How can I do that on OpenSTLinux (Yocto approach) ?Where is the file and how can I maintain such edit after recompiling the images ?Thank you

hi,i would like to modify the start_up_demo_launcher.sh script as well as the weston.ini file so that my application is started instead of the STM demo application. i would then like to add these files to my own distribution package so that i can flash the eval board w/ it.can someone tell me where i can find these files in an STM download package so that i can build my own image to flash?thanks, vince

My board with stm32mp157 wakes up from CSTOP with UART wake source, but cannot wakes with RTC or WAKEUP PINs from STANDBY. TF-A outputs strange errors at the end:ERROR: Illegal access to 0xe0000000 in :ERROR: Non-SecureERROR: PrivilegeERROR: ReadAnd nothing goes on until watchdog reset. This lines I see in tzc400 sources. But I don`t know how to interpret this.Could anyone explain what is going wrong when I`m trying wakes from STANDBY?
I'm developing an IoT device for a customer and I have an external Bluetooth SoC connected to the ST's MCU via UART. The BT SoC shares its UART Tx pin with reset functionality so I need to develop a driver to momentarily turn the UART to GPIO mode to reset the device followed by return to UART mode to carry on with the communication. As a first step I'm doing a Proof of Concept -like solution where I use a normal tty driver (usart3) to communicate and a second custom driver to highjack the GPIO peripheral. The issue is that I don't seem to be able to read any values out of the GPIO registers except for 0. Here is the code I'm using for testing the GPIO access:static const uint32_t GPIO_BASE = 0x50003000; static const uint32_t GPIO_LAST = GPIO_BASE + 0x3fc; ssize_t show_debug_attr(struct kobject* kobj, struct kobj_attribute* attr, char* buf) { ssize_t written = 0; uint32_t i; volatile void __iomem* ptr = ioremap_nocache(GPIO_BASE, GPIO_LAST - GPIO_BASE); if (!ptr) { r
HelloI'm going to create and flash my custom board with CubeMx. But I don't know how to modify the dtb file. Can you give me a link or a way to get the right help?
Hi,Is STM32MP1 is able to drive two displays at once , one via DSI and another via RGB is it possible? Following are the combinations :RGB to HDMI ---- to drive HDMI display.DSI to HDMI ----- to drive HDMI display.RGB to LVDS ----- to Drive LVDS display.DSI to LVDS ----- to drive LVDS display.Which of these would be best combination to drive two displays? I want to drive LVDS and one any display via HDMI.
I want to control a GPIO before u-boot, so how to control in TF-A?
We are building a custom embedded system based on STM32MP1 using customised OpenSTLinux. We are currently using the st-image-core as a starting point but we found it already heavy. Is there any option or other images providing a smaller image ?Also how can we merge the output images in a single fs. Currently there is bootfs, rootfs, userfs and vendorfs ?Is there any documentation ressources about this topics ?Thanks in advance
We are using OpenSTLinux to generate a custom image for our custom board. This board has no wifi nor bluetooth so we would like to remove it's support. Our machine conf file is based on stm32mp1-eval.conf with the following edition (commenting wifi and bluetooth and adding MACHINE_FEATURES_remove for wifi and bluetooth)But even with these modification bluez, packagegroup-base-bluetooth, packagegroup-base-wifi and wpa-supplicant are included in our image (accoridng to manifest). How can we remove bluetooth and wifi support ?#MACHINE_FEATURES += "bluetooth" #MACHINE_FEATURES += "wifi" MACHINE_FEATURES_remove = "wifi" MACHINE_FEATURES_remove = "bluetooth" #BLUETOOTH_LIST += "linux-firmware-bluetooth-bcm4343" #WIFI_LIST += "linux-firmware-bcm43430"
Hi,I am trying to develop something around the STM32MP1.For that I have made some changes in the dts file via cubeMx and followed the process of building it given here. What is the location where the dtb file generated ? My arch/arm/boot/dts folder looks empty. Is there something i am missing?executing make dtbs seperately also exits cleanly but does not generated the dtb file.
currently i have a pin <STM32_PINMUX('F', 14, GPIO)> how to mux as a GPIO before using as a gpiolib, export work fine, but i2c4 is not working but i can see GPIO is getting based on sys gpiolib. as before export i see PF14 line is muxed as pin 94 (PF14): input - low - pull upand this line has AF as a i2c4-clk
I am trying to verify my build environment by building the U-boot code samples to be able to run the DDR Tuning tests.First I start CubeMX (using the ubuntu image provided on one of your workshops) and under tools i choose the DDR Test Suite and select a prebuilt "u-boot-spl.stm32-stm32mp157c-dk2-basic" file found in en.FLASH-stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31.tar_v3.0.0.xz as the DDR utilities binary file. Selecting ttyACM0 for my connection renders a sucessfull connection and enables me to run the ddr tuning tests. Now I need to build my own DDR utilities binary file so I use "en.SOURCES-stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31.tar_v3.0.0.xz" provided on your site and find the u-boot code in u-boot-stm32mp-2020.10.r1-r0.tar.gz which I extract in place.I initialize my Terminal by going to the folder i intend to build:cd ~/SDK/Developer-Package/stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31/sources/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-stm32mp-2020.10.r1-r0/u-boot-stm32mp-202
