Hi @STTwo-32Given that the distinguishing feature of STM32WBA52 is BLE and considering that connectivity applications support was removed since SDK V1.2.0, could you please clarify if this implies that there will be no further support for connectivity applications for the STM32WBA52 family in the future? If so, would it be advisable for users to consider transitioning to another family for future projects? Your insights on this matter would greatly assist us in planning for potential future production needs. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Regards,Rajdeep
Hello,I am working on a project using the STM32WB55 and its BLE stack. I am trying to implement a custom service with more than three characteristics. However, when I add a fourth characteristic, the function aci_gatt_add_char returns the error code 0x98.Interestingly, if I add two more services each with two characteristics (i.e., a total of 3+2+2 = 7 characteristics), there are no issues. The problem occurs only when a single service contains more than 3 characteristics.I followed the Heart Rate Monitor example.Thank you for any help.
Hello,I have developed BLE HID COMBO example based on existing BLE_HID example for STM32 NUCLEO-WB55RG board to use MOUSE and KEYBOARD as one HID device. Also have added more detail steps for it testing.See project on https://github.com/GS2test/wireless-controller/tree/main Everybody, who have NUCLEO-WB55RG board, are welcome to test and to give your suggestions for improvements!
Hello,I am trying to configure NUCLEO-L073RZ board in the P-NUCLEO LRWAN2 package as the end node in the STM Cube IDE Software and for that I am using "LoRaWAN software expansion for stm32 cube IDE". I followed this directory path in the library, {en.i-cube_lrwan\STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V2.1.0\Projects\NUCLEOL073RZ\Applications\LoRaWAN\LoRaWAN_End_Node\STM32CubeIDE\sx1272mb2das}. Problem:There is no .IOC file in the library and if I try to create the project in Cube IDE and copy the files from the library it will show "UNDEFINED REFERANCE ERROR", how to deal with the problem if anyone has did it kindly share out the way to do it.
Hi,We had right the code for NUCLEO-WL55JC1 which is perfectly run. NUCLEO-WL55JC1 is connected with Gateway and send the data successfully to the Gateway according to code. But when we load the same program in our customised board the MCU is not connected with the Gateway even we put the MCU in continuous data sending mode. In above image we display the response of NUCLEO-WL55JC1 on left side while our customised board on right side. We can see that NUCLEO-WL55JC1 dev board is connected in first attempt while our customised board is trying multiple times even though it is not able to connect with Gateway. Is there any thing in hardware or software specific which we missed compared to NUCLEO-WL55JC1 Dev Board ?We did all required connector for MCU, supply voltage is 3.3V and 868MHz antenna is connected.I am attached here the code for ready reference. Please suggest what we missed out and where.
Hi,I'm trying to build a custom BLE application following the "Get Started" videos provided by ST and I want to print the default debug messages on the virtual COM port, as shown in the provided examples (e.g., BLE_Custom). As explained in some tutorials, I changed the values of the macros CFG_DEBUGGER_SUPPORTED, CFG_DEBUG_BLE_TRACE, and CFG_DEBUG_APP_TRACE to 1. However, I encountered build errors because the hw_uart.c file was not generated (the same error is reported here ).I discovered that the same variables need to be enabled from the MX project file (.ioc file) under Pinout & Configuration -> Middleware -> STM32_WPAN -> Configuration. I edited the variables CFG_HW_USART1_ENABLED, CFG_DEBUG_TRACE_UART, along with the previously mentioned macros. After doing this, the build process completed successfully, but there was no output on the UART.The issue might be related to the fact that the debugger messages are printed using a printf function, which should be
Hello mate,I have a problem STM32WB55RG, i download BLE_p2pServer firmware to the board and success in stm32cubeide, but board can't run the firmware and i try download with stm32cubeprogrammer and i have same problem.maybe someone can help me..Thanks
Hello team ST,I am working on application, for this application i want to send 251 bytes of the data. currently i am using BLE extended advertising mode for my application with STM32 WBA52CG board. To send this data, I have used BLE_P2P_Server_Ext example from the Git repo. Now, I am trying to modify the existing ADV_EXT_Config function to advertise more than 31 bytes of data, but I am unable to do so. Below, you can find the parameters for the Extended NO SCANNABLE-NO CONNECTABLE advertisement: /* Extended NO SCANNABLE-NO CONNECTABLE */ data_cpt = 0; memcpy(&a_p2p_extended_buff[0], &a_AdvData[0], sizeof(a_AdvData)); data_cpt += sizeof(a_AdvData); i = 1; adv_set_param[i].enable = 1; adv_set_param[i].data = &a_p2p_extended_buff[0]; adv_set_param[i].data_len = data_cpt; strcpy(adv_set_param[i].username, "ext_noscan_noconn"); adv_set_param[i].sid = i; adv_set_param[i].interval_min = 200; adv_set_param[i].interval_max = 300; adv_set_param[i].tx_power = CFG_TX_P
Hey everyone!I’m developing an IoT device based on the STM32WL5CCU6 which should be able to operate over a wide range of protocols and frequencies. I would like to tune the device to both the 470-510 MHz and the 862-928MHz bands. While at it, I would also like to be able to use the whole transmit power range (both LP and HP). Originally, I also wanted to have both RX and TX but soon realized this would need way too many RF switches so instead I opted to having RX/TX on the high band and only TX on the low band. I have created a draft design with this functionality, please check the schematics below: There are several concerns with this design I would like to discuss: 1. Switching VDDPA supplyAccording to the datasheet and reference designs, the VDDPA supply needs to be connected to VDDRF1V55 when using RFO_LP and directly to VDD when using RFO_HP. Is this necessary or could I use a single power source in both cases? In the design, I use a TS5A3157 SPST analog switch IC t
Hi community,I have an application to sample the ADC and go to sleep(STOP2) mode. From the RM0434 got to know that cannot use the ADC/DMA interrupt as a wakeup source to get the ADC converted valuesSo I went with the Polling approach as shown in the snapshot. ADC_PollForConversion function is always giving HAL_Error. Can I get some help with this? This code snippet is the ADC Init function. I have the following setup:1 STM32WB based device (A) is configured as both master and slave A is connected to up to 4 slave devices (B) I need to implement RTC synchronization over BLE, and my initial approach is following:A smartphone that's connected to A sends a time synchronization commandA drops all active connections, both to smartphone and all B devices A connects to B devices one at a time with a connection interval of 7.5 msA reads RTC and writes data to B device's custom RTC BLE characteristicI know that the timing for the write to characteristic operation is random. It will happen on the next connection interval, and it may be repeated on the MAC layer in case it failed. In order to measure the round trip time (RTT), I set the RTC BLE characteristic using ATTR_ACCESS_WRITE_REQ_ONLY. After B device receives data on the characteristic and sets its RTC it calls aci_gatt_write_resp which should in return send a write response to A and generate aci_gatt_proc_complete_event_rp0 i
Hi,I have an STM32WB board that is working as a central device. I have several peripheral devices, each with an advertising interval of 10 seconds. As a result, connecting to the devices can take quite some time. Is it possible to scan and receive advertising packets while attempting to connect to a peripheral? When I try to use the command aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc after executing aci_gap_create_connection, I receive the error 0x0C.I also tried using the background scan feature, which can be enabled with aci_hal_write_config_data() (offset parameter 0xC1). However, according to PM0271, section 5.2.1, I'm not entirely sure if this use case aligns with my scenario: "As explained in the previous chapter, in a multi-role scenario, the STM32WB device has the opportunity to advertise, scan, and be connected at the same time with different remote devices."I don't have a multi-role scenario, so I don't think this feature is appropriate. If anyone has experience with scanning and conne
Hello, I am following this tutorial, but it is designed for the WB55 and I am using the WB15. I have managed to get the LED task before this one working. However with this task I do not get an output to the App. I have modified the code to have an LED on button press as shown below:void myTask(void){ if(!HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(B2_GPIO_Port, B2_Pin)) { UpdateCharData[0] ^= 0x1; Custom_Mycharnotify_Update_Char(); HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(LD1_GPIO_Port, LD1_Pin); } UTIL_SEQ_SetTask(1 << CFG_TASK_MY_TASK, CFG_SCH_PRIO_0);}Am I correct in saying the routine works as it is able to re-enter the function (using LED as an indicator that it is) on button press and my issue is strictly these lines of code: UpdateCharData[0] ^= 0x1; Custom_Mycharnotify_Update_Char();Thank you,Shahin Haquehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgw3wRpGSRQ&list=PLnMKNibPkDnG9JRe2fbOOpVpWY7E4WbJ-&index=17&ab_channel=STMicroelectronics
Hello, I hope you are doing well.I’ve developed a product using the STM32H573I-DK kit as a reference and the MXCHIP EMW3080 Wi-Fi module. We decided to design our new hardware in such a way that the Wi-Fi module could be connected just like in the dev kit, using the same PCB design provided on the STM website. Everything worked correctly, so we proceeded to purchase all the necessary materials for our new hardware. Now, here’s the problem: when we used our own Wi-Fi modules, we noticed that they didn’t work. I suspected it might be a firmware issue, and I found a way to update the firmware of the EMW3080 as described in this link: https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/x-wifi-emw3080b.html.Initially, I successfully updated the firmware on 8 assembled units. It’s worth mentioning that we purchased over 100 EMW3080 units directly from MXCHIP. However, after the first firmware update, the modules completely stopped responding, which led me to suspect that the bootloader might have been co
Hi ST Community Is it possible to use the ADC polling/DMA/IT in STOP2 mode. The application is to develop a low power platform for ADC sampling and go back to sleep. After a certain period send this data over BLE.

Hello,I am working on an STM32WB project where I need to erase and write to the flash memory. I have utilized the flash_driver.c files that I found in the STM32WB examples. I tried to integrate these into my project (which does not use FreeRTOS or BLE - though I had to enable BLE in CubeMX to satisfy flash_driver.c dependencies). However, I encounter a hard fault when calling the uint32_t FD_EraseSectors(uint32_t FirstSector, uint32_t NbrOfSectors) function. The crash occurs specifically at the following line: shci_send(SHCI_OPCODE_C2_FLASH_ERASE_ACTIVITY, 1, local_buffer, p_rsp); I am unsure how to debug this issue. Could you please provide some guidance or advice on how to resolve this problem?Thank you.
Hi,Are there any plans for a such a module in the near future? (preferable also with combined BLE-support)If so, what approx. timeline? Thanks
Is it possible to use stm32wb55 radio without DLF162500? I mean I have nothing to complain about its price but rather that it uses a non standard package/footprint and I don't want to have any non standard components so I can change components so long as they have similar performance but designing a filter with performance similar to this one would be hard out of discrete components. Also I'm curious why no stm32wb user manual nor datasheet mentions the existence of mlfp-wb55-02E3 and similar, it happens to be as well that the nucleo board uses LFB182G45C which is a band pass filter.... All of these components have the same problem for me which is they don't use standard package/footprint sizes. All in all can I remove this low pass filter and still have a working bluetooth 5.4 radio?
When using the radio for bluetooth, would it really make a huge difference in power consumption? I want to reduce my bom and would much rather not depend on 2 more inductors, also is the 32khz really that necessary?
Had tried for some time but still did not get it. The MCU and sensor are both mainstream, typical and relatively simple.Any pointer to a complete (with STM32 project and MX .ioc) example code for STM32 MCU SPI interfacing with a sensor chip. Many thanks
Dear community,I recently faced a possible anomaly in Stm32 cube configuration when setting up the RTC alarm:the rtc alarm interrupt was firing immediatley during initialization.Everything was setup via Cube, no manual code involved.Problem begins immediately when in void HAL_RTC_MspInit(RTC_HandleTypeDef* hrtc) the RTC IRQ is enabled, after that it start to fire non-stop, at this point no alarm has been configured yet.This because in the HAL_RTC_AlarmIRQHandler(&hrtc) the alarm interrupt flag is cleared only if hrtc->IsEnabled.RtcFeatures is evaluated true, since the configuration hasn't been carried out yet, the interrupt flag is not cleared and the program gets stuck.My supposition is that the interrupt fires because of the RTC alarm registers content at reset, I haven't investigated but it seems the only logical reason.My solution is to ignore hrtc->IsEnabled.RtcFeatures when clearing the alarm interrupt flags.BEFOREvoid HAL_RTC_AlarmIRQHandler(RTC_HandleTypeDef *hrtc) {
We created an empty C++ project. Then, added some web-sourced .cpp and .hpp code into the directory. Compiled and debugged with ST-Link MiniE fine. Entry is main.cppIn STM32CubeIDE, click .ioc and edit init code with STM32MX. STM32MX generates main.c instead of main.cpp where our code resides. Many thanks
Transmitter at 1x dBm. Receiver at threshold of decoding or error. About -110 to -120 dBm as reported by the software RSSI value. Need attenator of 140 dB.Many thanks
For STM32WLE5JC older example on FL_HAL 1.1 and 1.2 . Is there a tool to do HAL WL Lib upgrade to latest 1.3? Or it is easy and safer to leave it as with older HAL. Or, we need to create an empty STM32 porject with latest WL HAL Lib and then copy user C code manually files by files? Many thank
