Hey everybody,I am currently working on a project which involves a firmware update over the air (using the nucleo wl55jc1 board). i have found an example project through the official website (https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32cubewl.html) and unzipped the file directly onto my c disk and use powershell to execute the scripts. at first i tried the code without changes besides the changes in the se-identity.h file and everything worked fine see the picture below for the ouptut on the serial monitor.working_classAonce i concluded the project worked i tried to change the class from A to C and got the followingi expected to still see the tx sending data. however that just stopped. i did a deep dive into the code but that just got me more confused. its getting me nowhere and i am not sure on how to proceed. i hope you fine people may shine some light on it. i am using chirpstack as networkserver.
HiI've tried to build the three FUOTA projects. Each one fails with similar errors. "Missing files".I have a fresh install of the CubeIDE, and I've tried this on two different computers. For example, I built the Single Core FUOTA example for the Nucleo WL55, the files not found are:kms_config.hsfu_fwimg_regions.hThe Problems tab reports these two missing files and these warnings:Invalid project path: Include path not found (D:\workspace\LoRaWAN_FUOTA\1_Image_BFU\BFU\App).Invalid project path: Include path not found (D:\workspace\LoRaWAN_FUOTA\1_Image_SECoreBin\Inc).Invalid project path: Include path not found (D:\workspace\LoRaWAN_FUOTA\Linker_Common\STM32CubeIDE).The other dual-core examples for the Nucleo and B-WL5M-SUBG1 give:cannot open linker script file mapping_fwimg.ld: No such file or directoryfatal error: kms_config.h: No such file or directoryfatal error: sfu_fwimg_regions.h: No such file or directoryAnd these warnings:Invalid project path: Include path not found (D:\work
Hi, I tried to setup BLE, I do not know how I managed first time to success - but I can't do it anymore :DOnce it was working and even tried to send characters, but now I cant setup it anymore.I follow up https://wiki.stmicroelectronics.cn/stm32mcu/wiki/Connectivity:STM32WB_BLE_STM32CubeMX?fbclid=IwY2xjawJKMGtleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHWGApJ2fFnP-RI3Ye1iESDwJcYOT4JPv8skeIeo9BnIwXsOjudiwk5aLvg_aem_JjqKEMTM7yBJXIqLLMAUGQ#STM32_WPAN_configurationand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LvfBC_P6eg&t=4s I did FUS start before updating: It seems like I did exactly like in examples, but it doesnt even appear in ST BLE Toolbox app, will appreciate any kind of help !
Hi, I am testing ble audio with STM32WBA55G-DK1 board. I develop my ble audio application with tmap profile. I referred to BLE_Audio_TMAP_Periopheral project provided by ST. It can be paired and enable le audio. Hello everyoneWe are developing a prototype of vibration monitor system . Now we are in optimization stage , reducing the power of the device . We are using SeedStudio Lora E5 HF (STM32WE5) (US915) https://files.seeedstudio.com/products/317990687/res/LoRa-E5+module+datasheet_V1.0.pdf , and programing it using STM32CubeIDE and this code base https://github.com/Seeed-Studio/LoRaWan-E5-Node/tree/qian. Our target is to reduce the tx power . However there's many configuration around that and it's not clear the final dBm . This module can give up to 22dBm on TX according to the specs . We would like to reduce it to 6dBm to save power .Right now I'm playing around with SUBGRF_SetTxParams function and I was able to see a change in current consumption when the device is transmitting .But still having some these questions :How can I calculate or know what is the final dBm ? to achieve the 6dBmUsing this official middleware guaranteed the FCC certification or
Hi,I'm using STM32WB5MMG and placed it in the top left corner of the PCB as recommended. The component assembly is top side only so I can't place the decoupling capacitors for VDD, VDDA, VREF+. Also, the schematic of Sparkfun's MicroMod Processor using STM32WB5MMG has a Note: "Decoupling capacitors are integrated onboard the module." So, I'm confused now. However, I've enough space to add 4.7uF Capacitor which is recommended to eliminate ripple on power supply. So, is it okay to completely drop these 100nF decoupling capacitors from the schematic itself which are shown in MB1292 (STM32WB5MMG Discovery Kit)? Will it make a difference for being there or not in this module's case? Thanks & Regards,Sumit
Hello,We have a project that uses STM32WB55 as the main controller. This project has certain requirements for power consumption and wants to enter sleep mode through stop2 mode. But I tested the power consumption current of stop2 mode on the STM32WB55 DK board (Nucleo-WB55) and it was 107uA. We have configured RTC and external interrupts to wake up stop2 mode, and we want its power consumption current in stop2 mode to be less than 5uA.May I ask if the power consumption current can reach 5uA when enabling RTC Alarm A and external interrupt to enter stop2 mode?I used the routine on the stm32wb55 official website to test the stop2 mode: STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.22.0\Projects\P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Examples_LL\PWR\PWR_EnterStopModeI added serial port printing and configuration before entering stop2 mode to this routine. Now I have configured the MSI clock to 100Khz.void EnterStop2Mode(void) { LL_GPIO_InitTypeDef gpio_initstruct = {LL_GPIO_PIN_ALL, LL_GPIO_MODE_ANALOG, LL_GPIO_SPEED
Hi community, I understand that users can encrypt and sign firmware using STM32CubeProgrammer. My question is about the first stage bootloader provided by ST. From my limited reading, it seemed that this 1st stage ST bootloader is only encrypted but not signed. Is my understanding correct? If not, please can someone point to me the document describing how does ST do the 1st stage bootloader signing and where the verification key is programmed on the MCUs? Thanks, and best regards James
Hello, first time poster.I recently got a few NUCLEO-WL55JC2's for a research project.but other than the standard examples, I am unable to compile a project that I either made using my own ioc, or the one in C:\Users\%username%\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.3.1\Projects\NUCLEO-WL55JC\Applications\LoRaWAN\LoRaWAN_End_NodeWhen I use either of these, this is the error message I get in CubeIDE, when hitting build. ../Core/Inc/platform.h:45:10: fatal error: stm32wlxx_nucleo_radio.h: No such file or directory 45 | #include "stm32wlxx_nucleo_radio.h" | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ compilation terminated. arm-none-eabi-gcc "../Middlewares/Third_Party/LoRaWAN/Mac/Region/RegionBaseUS.c" -mcpu=cortex-m4 -std=gnu11 -g3 -DDEBUG -DCORE_CM4 -DUSE_HAL_DRIVER -DSTM32WL55xx -c -I../Core/Inc -I../LoRaWAN/App -I../LoRaWAN/Target -I../Drivers/STM32WLxx_HAL_Driver/Inc -I../Drivers/STM32WLxx_HAL_Driver/Inc/Legacy -I../Utilities/trace/adv_trace -I../Utilities/misc -I../Utilities/sequencer
I am using the STM32WB15CC and encountered an issue when my program exceeded 112KB (0x1C000), causing the flashing process to fail. I noticed that the memory region starting from 0x0801C000 is set as a secure flash area.I would like to know if it is possible to modify this secure flash area. If so, could you please provide guidance on how to make the necessary modifications?
Hi,i am using STM32WBA55 with BLE_p2pServer_ota example and want to wake-up over an USART2 event (start bit or rising edge) from stop mode. What is a good way to do this? I am using HSI16 with USART2 GPDMA1.
I'm trying my hand at a LoRa project and settled on using the STM32WLE5JC chip on Seeed studio's Wio-E5 module. I've read through the bootloader manual and Seeed studio has their own set of instructions for wiping their pre-existing code which I have gone through, but my question is in regards to after I have successfully flashed code similar to the ping-pong examples in subGHz. Specifically, is it possible to upload code using an ST-Link without access to the BOOT pin?For reference, the module gives access to SWDIO, SWCLK, and NJRST, which I have broken out these pins along with GND and PWR, but the BOOT pin is not accessible. In my past experience using STM32, I flashed through UART which did require the bootloader and hence boot pins were the easiest way to go. From what I have read online, it seems that flashing through ST-Link doesn't require the system to be put into bootmode but would appreciate some confirmation on this. Seeed's factory firmware appears to have made a different
I've been using B-WB1M-WPAN board with a modified example of motion service from BLE_HR_p2p_Sensor. but with IMU readings with a steval-mki217v1 shield connected with SPI. I already have the CRC checked from CubeMX generation. So far I have been able to read IMU data (polling) and send it through a BLE notifiacation service. but when I try to setup a MotionFx server it mulfunctions. void ssfusn_setup(void) { /* Check if statically allocated memory size is sufficient to store MotionFX algorithm state and resize if necessary */ if (STATE_SIZE < MotionFX_GetStateSize()) { // Error_Handler(); while (1) { /* code */ } } /* Sensor Fusion API initialization function */ MotionFX_GetLibVersion(lib_version); MotionFX_initialize((MFXState_t *)mfxstate); MotionFX_getKnobs(mfxstate, &iKnobs); iKnobs.acc_orientation[0] = 's'; iKnobs.acc_orientation[1] = 'e'; iKnobs.acc_orientation[2] = 'u'; iKnobs.gyro_orientation[0] = 's'; iKnobs.gyro_orientation[1] = 'e'; iKn
Hello For the Nucleo STM32WB05KZ board, the transmission power is normally 0 dBm by default (it can go up to 8 dBm). Is it possible to modify the transmission power according to my needs, for example to 3 or 4 dBm, using STM32CubeProgrammer or another software? thanks
On this page: https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-microprocessors/stm32wle4c8.htmlThe device is specified as having LoRa support in the first paragraph of the description but lower down in the "More from the product line" section the WLE4 chips are indicated not to include LoRa. Also the product selector filtering includes WLE4 devices when LoRa is filtered for.The datasheet says: "The LoRa® modulation is available in STM32WLx5xx only." so I think the web site is incorrect?
I'm building an application for a BlueNRG-LPS (332), now rebranded as STM32WB05TZ (WLCSP-36 Package) by starting with a simply Blinky project testing the clock signals of my device. I need to enable the PLL64M clock source to use the radio peripherals, and the generated configuration fails. Maybe I'm missing to add or properly set up something here?Context:I'm using STM32CubeIDE 1.16.0 with STM32Cube FW_WB0 V1.0.0 to generate some basic code.Initially, all the Radio Peripherals are OFF, I'm using a 32MHz external crystal for the HSE, and do not have an LSE installed on my PCB (planning to have one, but for now, using the LSI). In my particular case, I added external 12pF capacitors to my HSE crystal, and set the chip's internal tuning capacitors to 0. (Ignore the inductor symbol, this is only a 0ohm resistor) The PCB has the hardware to not work on SMPS mode (no Inductor), tried 2.4V and 3.3V as the VDD source with similar results. My clock tree initially looked like foll
Hello,I'm working on a project started from Zigbee_APS_coord and Zigbee_APS_router examples on NUCLEO-WB55.USBDongle with STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.21.0.The project is based on data exchange between the coordinator and several devices acting as routers (from 2 to 10) at the APS layer. The commonunication works fine in unicast mode, but I got error ZB_APS_STATUS_ILLEGAL_REQUEST = 0xa3 from ZbApsdeDataReqCallback if I try to send a broadcast message with the following code: struct ZbApsdeDataReqT zb_aps_req_current; struct ZbApsAddrT dst; dst.endpoint = clusterId; dst.mode = ZB_APSDE_ADDRMODE_SHORT; dst.nwkAddr = 0xffff; /* Broadcast */ memset(&zb_aps_req_current, 0, sizeof(zb_aps_req_current)); zb_aps_req_current.dst = dst; zb_aps_req_current.profileId = profileId; zb_aps_req_current.clusterId = clusterId; zb_aps_req_current.srcEndpt = srcEndpt; zb_aps_req_current.asdu = payload; zb_aps_req_current.asduLength = payloadLength; zb_aps_req_current.asduHandle = zigbee_app_inf
Hello, I'm working on a project started from Zigbee_APS_coord and Zigbee_APS_router examples on NUCLEO-WB55.USBDongle with STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.21.0.The project is based on data exchange between the coordinator and several devices acting as routers (from 2 to 10) at the APS layer. The protocol for data transmission is based on coordinator data request which wait for a router data response before passing to the next device; payload size is 66 bytes and polling rate between two coordinator requests has been set in different trials between 100 and 150 ms. We observed that the average response time for a single request from the time ZbApseDataReqCallback has been called to the time the incoming zigbee message is detected with the callback registered using ZbApsFilterEndpointAdd is approximately 80 ms, except for times in which some error on communication is detected (usually 0xd1 aka routing error, solved with rejoin procedure). The code snippet used to send a zigbee message on bot
Hello STM Community ,I am designing an internal PCB antenna for LoRa communication using the STM32WL55JCI7 at EU868 frequency. Is a PCB antenna recommended by STM for this chip? If so, what guidelines or procedures should I follow for designing a PCB antenna for LoRa communication? Additionally, what range can I expect with an optimized PCB antenna design?Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!
TCXO is not supported in the SUBGHz_PHY code generated by STM32CubeMX for the STM32WL5MOCHTR. Even with the HSE enabled in the RCC panel, this dialogue box is still shown. According to the datasheet, the internal clock labeled "HSE" is a TCXO, and must be configured as such. Even with the fix applied to the clocks within SystemClock_Config, the system fails to generate valid code.void SystemClock_Config(void) { ... RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_BYPASS_PWR; ... }So there is an issue with the internal model within STM32CubeMX (as of 3/13/2025).When Code is Debugged, the code always gets stuck in the function "HAL_SYSCFG_EnableVREFBUF."Where should we go from here?
