Posted on June 13, 2017 at 11:05Hello folks,it seems like there is a very important topic not discussed right now. There are LoRa examples for System Workbench for 5 different Boards, which include in the folder middleware all functions of LoRaWAN. But as the code of drivers and middlelware is not easy to understand, it would be nice to migrate it to another project on another board. I just want to pass over the data to that middleware, so I don't have to worry about the further handling. And by the way the modularity, which STM32 describes on nearly every page, should work somehow! My working steps so far:I found Cube (without MX), but there is no driver/middleware/libraray for LoRa.Also tried just to copy the Folders Driver and Middleware of the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V1.1.0 to a new CubeMX project. Would be awsome, if there is a tutorial, how the migration of drivers and middelware is realized :)Thanks in advanceJonas#middelware #lora #lorawan #cubemx #driver #migration
Posted on June 13, 2017 at 00:16I was doing a firmware update over the air and it failed, so now I don't have the LED blinking on my SensorTile. How do I recover from this? Also, could it have been because the SensorTile was not blinking constantly during the OTA firmware update? Has anyone else experienced that? #firmware-update #stm32f4 #ota #sensor-tile
Posted on May 24, 2017 at 11:04Here the procedure : - Join -> Join OK - Uplink , a downlink is send by the networkat this point sometimes (near 25%), no more uplink is send after.I did not success to reproduce this problem in debug mode to understand what the problem is.... :(Is someone already see this problem ?i am using the i cube lrwan v 1.1.0 software.#i-cube-lrwan
Posted on April 24, 2017 at 14:43A lots of time, the timer used to switch off the TCXO of the LoRa Module seems to block the timer utility. As this one stay indefinitely on the head.Did someone see already this problem ?#i-cube-lrwan
Posted on April 25, 2017 at 13:11Hi,I bought two STM32 Nucleo-L073RZ pack boards with expansion LoRa boards. I downloaded from STM32 site the example projects for board and I tried to run project for LoRa called PingPong. This project should start the communication between two boards. I unsuccessfully tried the PingPong project under IAR and also under Keil. It did not work, maybe problem in synchronization. At the beginning it works, but it fails after a some time.I would like to ask anybody of simple source code STM32 with LoRa to run communication between two boards, simply receiver and transceiver.Thank you,Jan Muller#lora
Posted on April 10, 2017 at 20:50Hello everyone, I am using STM32F070RB with SIM808 on board. I just want to have FOTA feature in my design so that program can be updated remotely via GPRS. The current program size is of 67KB (i.e., 61KB internal program memory is remaining) and 8MB external EEPROM is also available on the board. Can anyone guide me how to do it?#fota #ota #stm32f070
Posted on April 04, 2017 at 11:41I am using I-CUBE-LRWAN firware. But have different controller STM32L082 instead of STM32L053 mentioned in End node example Application.By default it have OTAA,I changed to ABP method.I am using SX1276 radio and i have changed all the pins accordingly i have connected. Edited hw_conf.h and commisiong.h file and entered all the keys. But i am not able to communicate with the gateway. Can anyone help what are files even more i need to edit.#lora #lorawan #i-cube-lrwan
Posted on February 24, 2017 at 13:40For a new IoT proof-of-concept (PoC) I shortly start I need to measure some parameters like e.g. temperature in a building environment (building can be broad interpreted: an office building, a hospital, etc.). After some investigation I think an option would be using Sub 1GHz for connectivity. My questions:- Would indeed Sub 1GHz be a viable option for these kinds of use cases?- Or, are there better alternatives? - For our PoC what devkits/components (a few edge device kits + a gateway device to connect the edge devices to the Internet/CLoud), as a result of my 2 previous questions, can we best use?Thanks.#sub-1ghz-nucleo #stm32 #nucleo #wireless
Posted on February 21, 2017 at 11:13The setup consist of a STM32l152RE Nucleo board, with a LoRa transciever. The code base is the LoRaMac code from Semtech on Github - SensorNode version, as this is targeting sx1276. The IDE I use is Keil uVision v5.The initial target is L151C8. I successfully changed the target to STM32L152R8 or RB and have the code properly run on the Nucleo board, fitted with STM32L152RE.As soon as I move to higher feature MCU, such as RC, RD or RE, the timer interrupts are not raised anymore, preventing the code to properly work.Is there any changes to be done when moving up in the range?#nucleo-l152re #lorawan
Posted on February 15, 2017 at 17:25Hello,I have a NUCLEO-L073RZ+ SX1272MB2DAS development Pack. I've tried to run the software provided with that but it seems that the board doesn't send the frame when it has.The frame are sended sporadically.I downloaded the V 1.0.3 of the sofware released in January. Could be this version the problem? Is there a simple software that send a simple hello world? Thanks#lorawan #sx1272 #lora #semtech
Posted on February 15, 2017 at 11:27Hey there. I am experimenting with LoRaWAN (the things network) and the STM32L053C8 discovery board.I set up my sysclock to MSI 2 MHz and the systick interrupt to count up 10000 times a second (100us ticks). This is required by the lmic library to provide accurate timing for 2 receive windows. The problem is, that both of the receive windows time out every time. So the question is if it's possible that the clock is that inaccurate or maybe i did some wrong in the configuration.Would be very nice if someone could have a look at my code.Code is attached as eclipse project. Thanks in advance.Kind regards, Rob#lorawan #sx1276 #clock-hsi-msi-lsi #system-clock #systick #lora
Posted on January 26, 2017 at 17:47Hello,Hardware/Setup:* NUCLEO-L152RE6* SX1276MB1MAS* LoRaWAN Gateway (iC880a)* Spectrum Analyser* Kile Vision 5* latest I-Cube Examples (Jan2017)using the provided I-CUBE-LRWAN LoRa Class A example I am unable to send data (RX) to the Nucleo board from my PC over the USB UART/Seial (COM port 8, 9600bauds). Despite the fact, that the nucleo board can send debug data (TX) to mi PC and this data is correctly displayed in the serial terminal application.Going through the I-Cube examples I found serial communications code, which I am able to compile, flash to the nucleo boards and successfully execute and exchange data. The interrupt and DMA examples alone do work without any changes. But when I combine the LRWAN Class A code and the serial RX code from the examples (adapted to work with the vcom.c/h code) the serial RX is still not working, only TX.Apparently the sys clock is somehow not ticking and thus, timeouts do not work. The UART RX code lands even
Posted on January 18, 2017 at 11:45Hi, I need a controller for my new project.Following are my main requirements. -> The controller that supports Linux OS. Does it need any external DRAM?-> We should be able to connect Bluetooth antenna.-> It needs good SPI performance, speed up to 8 MHz, low-latency driver->needs communicate to Ethernet controller and also needs UART for GPS and serial communication. Is there any controller that can satisfy these requirements? If NO, please recommend a controller with all the functionalities mentioned above (Linux,2 UARTs, SPI and Ethernet controller) except the Bluetooth antenna(so that we could use Bluetooth module instead of antenna).#lora
Posted on November 29, 2016 at 22:58There's a typo in all three Semtech driver files (which cause me a problem a day or so):/Drivers/BSP/sx1276mb1las.c/Drivers/BSP/sx1276mb2das.c/Drivers/BSP/sx1276mb1mas.cIn void SXIoDeInit ( void ) around line 120initStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_IT_RISING ;should be changed to:initStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_ANALOG ; // GPIO_MODE_ANALOG;CheersRon #i-cube-lrwan
Posted on October 01, 2016 at 11:32Hello,We started development of a LoRaWAN Sensor with the I-CUBE-LRWAN software stack in combination with a NUCLEO-L152RE and SX1272MB2DAS expansion board.I have made the following changes to the code after a clean download:- Changed commissioning.h file to do ADP with my Lorank8 gateway - Disabled dutycycle in lora.c:81 - Enabled LORAWAN_CONFIRMED_MSGNo what I expect from the code is to receive the confirm message send from the gateway in RX2. I checked with a IMST LoRaWAN node to check if the downlink message is actually send by the gateway but this node receives the downlink confirm message in RX2 without problem (This node uses a STM32L1CB MCU and runes this software: https://github.com/Lora-net/LoRaMac-node). But the issue is the almost unchanged I-CUBE-LRWAN software doesnt receive anything in RX2. It does receive in RX1 fine. My guess is it has something to do with the L152RE MCU type.I use Keil to compile and flash the s
Posted on November 07, 2015 at 16:48Hi, I ported an example from the stm32f4 cube lib for stm32f469I_eval board to a nucleo f411. I works quite well with a wired keyboard but does not work with a microsoft wireless keyboard. I thought that it may be because the ms keyboard migth be USB 2.0. I switch to a f429 disco board and used the usb_ot_hs port but without more success ; the app still does not work with the ms keyboard. The USBH_UserProcess is correctly called once with APPLICATION_START then with APPLICATION_READY as param. The USB_HID_GetDeviceType returns HID_KEYBOARD which is correct. Any idea of what may happen ? Thanks Julien The device is even if the USBH_HID_GetDeviceType #hid-keyboard-wireless-stm32f4
Posted on November 24, 2014 at 20:10Hi, I'm using Dizic radio modules (STM32W108CB based ones) with SimpleMac v2.0.1 library. Overall, the example projects work with exception of packet transmission (802.15.4). Every time it accepts the packet transmission with ST_RadioTransmit() but always ends with ''NO ACK'' case in callback function. Also, nothing is received in other modules (even in promiscuous mode). I've tested it with XBee module and the STM32W/simplemac receives the packets from the XBee. But never transmits anything. No error but NO ACK is given. #stm32w-wireless-simplemac
Posted on July 11, 2014 at 19:01Hi, I would like to know if it would be better to send AT commands to the HC-06 Bluetooth module via an interrupt handler or a while(1) in the main as well as some pointers on the code I am trying to get correct and working. I am not sure if I require delays to allow module to reply. Perhaps some kind of scan and printf to see what is being sent and received would help, something like below? void USART1_IRQHandler(void) { static int tx_index = 0; static int rx_index = 0; char StringRX[12]; volatile char StringAT[] = ''AT''; volatile char StringBAUD[] = ''AT+BAUD4''; volatile char StringNAME[] = ''AT+NAMETest''; volatile char StringPIN[] = ''AT+PIN4321''; // ------------------StringAT------------------ if (USART_GetITStatus(USART1, USART_IT_TXE) != RESET) { USART_S
Posted on June 23, 2014 at 12:01Dear all, Do you know whether ST provides network (RJ-45) and wireless shields (a/b/g communication) for the new Nucleo F401-RE / F411-RE platforms. I know these platforms are compatible with: Arduino Uno Revision 3 connectivitySTMicroelectronics Morpho extension pin headers for full access to all STM32 I/Os Does ST provide shields for network/wireless, and if not, where should I look? Posted on September 24, 2011 at 01:45I read previous threads about source code. But how can i find source code related with UM0794: GSM interface?... Is there any link ? Should we contact local distributor for this? if it is so, why ? Thanks in advance Best Regards #gsm-stm32 #unavailable-resources #unavailable-resources #unavailable-resources #unavailable-resources
Posted on March 18, 2013 at 05:29Hi All, Im after adding WiFi capabilities to my PCB (either onboard chip or shield) for the STM32F4. Basically the unit will need to connect to a network via DHCP and dump data from an SD card to the server. I'm using IAR workbench. Does anyone know of a unit with good documentation / resource with code examples preferably for IAR? A range of protocols a/b/g/n is probably good. I found this sagrad module (http://www.sagrad.com/), anyone used it? Basically i'd like to get a popular unit with lots of resources rather than a cheap Chinese unit that noone uses and would have to spend hours creating my own libraries. So if anyone has any recommendations it would be appreciated! Thanks in advance :) #stm32-wifi
