Posted on December 21, 2015 at 17:37I have an STM32L152V8 running a large LCD using 1/4 bias and 1/4 duty. It works, but needs a little capacitive decoupling on the bias rails. I am using eternal decoupling pins PA0, PA2 and PA12, have enable external access to the bias signals with 'SYSCFG->PMC |= x0000000E' (LCD_CAPA) and have verified with my debugger that the register is indeed loaded with that value. I have also enabled those 3 pins as inputs per the manual. The pins PB0, PB2 & PB12 are just floating, they should be .825, 1.65 and 2.45v. Apparently the pins are not being connected to the internal bias voltages. code: /*Configure GPIO pins : PB0 PB2 PB12, LCD_CAP pins */ __GPIOB_CLK_ENABLE() GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_0|GPIO_PIN_2|GPIO_PIN_12; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_INPUT; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL; HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOB, &GPIO_InitStruct); // CONFIGURE LCD bias voltages to pins PB0, PB2 & PB12 _

Posted on February 25, 2014 at 16:34I'm using the STemWin522_CM4_OS_GCC library on a STM32F407 board (our own, testing on a 3240g EVAL). I have a problem using the precompiled library. It should be possible to define the functions GUI_X_Warn() and GUI_X_ErrorOut() to get error messages. I added code to these in GUI_X_FreeRTOS.c. These seem to be never called. I have have had emWin crashes in several places inside the library (usually within GUI_Init() ). And I tried setting the debug level to GUI_DEBUG_LEVEL_LOG_ALL. But never a call to these functions (or GUI_X_Log()) . To me it seems that the STemWin522_CM4_OS_GCC.a has been compiled with &sharpdefine GUI_DEBUG_LEVEL GUI_DEBUG_LEVEL_CHECK_PARA Then the above functions will not work. Is there any way to get the emWin error messages? The GUI_Error() function does not get called either. Figuring out what causes a crash inside the binary STemWin library is not working too well without any

Posted on December 20, 2015 at 00:09I am exploring STM32F429I-DISCO with touchscreen LCD. I am interested in creating a numeric keypad that can take inputs (and store the values). Preferred tools I would like to understand more are SW4STM32 & emWinGUIBuilder (open to other recommendations). Could you point me in the direction of how to get started? Posted on December 15, 2015 at 20:15Hi everyone, I'm trying to display an image from SD card on a display 800x480px. My image have the same size. I can read and write files from the SD card, so that part is no problem. I can also use stemWin to display strings and windows cursor etc, so there are nothing wrong with the display driver either. But when I call GUI_BMP_DrawEx(_GetDataSD, &imageFile, 0, 0); I get an hardfault. I open my file like this: if (f_open(&imageFile, ''0:image.bmp'' , FA_READ) == FR_OK) GUI_BMP_DrawEx(_GetDataSD, &imageFile, 0, 0); f_close(&imageFile); I have a global buffer unsigned char _acBuffer[512]; declard My _GetData looks like this:int _GetDataSD(void * p, const u8 ** ppData, unsigned NumBytesReq, u32 Off) { FIL * phFile; UINT NumBytesRead; phFile = (FIL *)p; // Check buffer size if (NumBytesReq > sizeof(_acBuffer)) { NumBytesReq = sizeof(_acBuffer); &nb
Posted on October 13, 2015 at 20:41Hello,I'm working on a problem that's brought me to a bit of a standstill. I have a controller-less LCD connected to an STM32F429. I'm also using an external SRAM device at address 0x64000000.My first try began with writing pixel data to the LCD using the STemWin libraries with the GUI_DrawHLine and GUI_DrawVLine functions; the pixels didn't get placed in the correct place. So I took a step back and tried the GUI_DrawPixel function with no better results.The display is 480 x 272. When I drew a horizontal line that was shorter than the display, say 360 pixels, the line would wrap around and start on the next line. When I drew a vertical line, the first pixel was ok at (0,0), but then the following pixels were offet the the right...so the result was kind of like a bunch of zig-zaggy lines.So I had to dig deeper to learn more. I wasn't sure whether the software driver that I selected (GUIDRV_LIN_16) was right. &n

Posted on December 04, 2015 at 06:51 Hi All! Today I found the strange mistake(?) In the file of demo application for STM32f429I- DiscoveryLCDConf_stm32f429i_disco_MB1c string 328 we can see function HAL_LTDC_LineEvenCallback(LTDC_HandleTypeDef *hltdc) . How I understund This function NEVER call. I think this function must be call in ISR of LTDC. But the name is mistake(?) In the name of this function is ''Even'' NOT ''Event''. It is right?? Posted on December 01, 2015 at 07:34I have attached my controller code (Controller used is STM32F429ZI.. STM32F4 discovery board with EMWIN).CreateWindow() creates a window which has a button with the name ''Inital''. Child window is created with WM_CreateWindowAsChild() API. In ChildWinHandler, WM_PAINT is used. WM_PAINT actually calls DrawWaveform() function which in turn just draws a line point by point. (that's our requirement so can't use direct API to draw a line). For every 1ms touch status is checked using TM_EMWIN_UpdateTouch(); and TM_DELAY_1msHandler();Issue: If we click on button while the above line is being drawn, line drawing hangs. But if we click on a button, after line drawing is completed,it works properly and button changes its text to ''Final''.. (this is correct behaviour).How can i achieve this correct behaviour ? #stm32 #touch #stemwin #button
Posted on November 27, 2015 at 04:52I have STM32F429i-DISCO board and I want to use LCD and be able to use it as USB Device, i.e. connect it through CN6 microUSB on the board. But when I create project in CubeMX I notice that LTDC already uses pins that are required for USB_OTG_FS, making it impossible to use on-board usb. Can it be done? In the demo project it is possible to connect flash stick to it, I tried to look at the source code, but didn't get how they done it. They are host there, but this shouldn't matter, since it is same OTG_FS stuff.If somebody did something like this, please let me at least a hint, I've been googling for hours and can't find answer. Posted on July 27, 2015 at 15:03Problem in StemWin driver in DMA2D_FillBuffer MethodI am developing a board STM32F429 with a 5 inch LCD(800x480), I init LCD With Setting LTDC Without Stem win and successfully can see background Color in LCD(RED,Blue or Green) then in next Step i try to Set GUI Driver (Stem win) for my Board i copy GuiDriver in One of St Application Project and then change LTDC Settings with my self(GPIO, Timing and Polarity). i then change LCD xSize and ySize in driver with mine and then change (my SDRAM is bank2 32MB RAM) LayerAddress0=0xd0000000 LayerAddress1=0xd1000000my problem is when (Gui_Init()) function is executed the Program goes to DMA2D_FillBuffer method and never finishes last line ''while'' Statement(it's a wait function until transfer via dma2d is complete) Any idea about problem? #stemwin #dma2d_fillbuffer #dma2d #ldtc #stemwin
Posted on November 17, 2015 at 08:21Hi,I am working on STM32F429 for LCD interface (LTDC).LCD controller: ILI9341Interface used: RGBWe are using STemWin library for GUI interface.We are able to work with GUIDRV_FLEXCOLOR_F66709 setting for 16 bit parallel interface. But we could not map PortAPI parameters (write16 bit data and read16bit) for GUIDRV_FlexColor_SetFunc() with RGB interface. Can we use the GUIDRV_FLEXCOLOR_F66709 for RGB interface? If not, which should be setting for RGB interface?Thanks in Advance.ByTamilselvan #stemwin #ili9341 #ldtc
Posted on November 09, 2015 at 12:44 I am only posting this as a last resort after making sure that I could nothing more about it. Just need fresh pair of eyes to check if I have missed out something. I am trying to use the HAL library to interface a POA030R image sensor (custom board) with the STM32F429I DISCOVERY Board through DCMI using DMA to store buffer on the internal memory. Right now the issue is: 1. The camera is shooting blanks (0x00h) 2. Which i checked with the PCLK and there's basically nothing (used digital oscilloscope) My code is as follows: my main(void) code: HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock to 180 MHz */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Configure MCO1 as 5 MHz for image sensor clock */ HAL_RCC_MCOConfig (RCC_MCO1, RCC_MCO1SOURCE_PLLCLK, RCC_MCODIV_2); /* POA030R Camera function calls */ Configure_POA030R(); /* Initialize DMA and then DCMI */ POA030R_Init(); /* Extract Image */ POA030R_ImageOut(); /* Infinite loop */ while (1) { } Configur
Posted on May 16, 2014 at 10:10Hi, we want to use STemWin v5.22 in the development of a GUI application with a LCD controlled by Ultrachip UC1698G, but the only driver available display drivers seem to be GUIDRV_FlexColor and GUIDRV_Lin, as stated in http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM147/CL1794/SC961/SS1743/PF259225. However, the user guide pdf included in the package under Libraries\STemWinLibrary522\Documentation makes reference to the driver GUIDRV_UC1698G just added in v5.22 according to the release notes in page 3. But this seems to be the Segger emWin (not ST) user guide, am I right? This would explain also why we get an undefined symbol error at linkage when calling the library function GUI_TTF_CreateFont() in order to import a TTF font. This is also seemingly unsupported in the ST licensed version of the library, isn't it?Thank you for any info you can provide to clarify this confusion! Regards, Alfonso. #stemwin #gui #uc1698 #display
Posted on October 15, 2015 at 19:42Hello! I am working in a project that uses a STM32F407 and 7'' TFT LCD with SSD1963 controller, after hard work to put the LCD running and some corrections on the board, but now I don't know if what we are trying to do is the better approach for the application. We had done some images to use as background of our app, but the 192KB of RAM is not enough for all images if we convert to c files, then we think to use SD card to store all images and loading them at runtime, but decompress the image and loading is very slow take about 2 seconds. Another thing that we think is the use of a SDRAM of 16MB, but I not sure that this will solve our problem. So I need help of anyone that has passed for this situation or something simila and could give us the better way to solve the problem. Thanks, Giovani #stm32f407-stemwin-ssd1963
Posted on October 22, 2015 at 17:51 Hello, I'm targeting the STM32F429IIT6. I have a problem with the LTDC driver clock. I'm trying to drive this 800x480 http://www.newhavendisplay.com/specs/NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXL-CTP.pdf at 30 fps. In my system clock configuration, I have something like this : PeriphClkInitStruct.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_LTDC; PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLSAI.PLLSAIN = 120; PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLSAI.PLLSAIR = 4; PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLSAIDivR = RCC_PLLSAIDIVR_4; HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&PeriphClkInitStruct); HAL_SYSTICK_Config(HAL_RCC_GetHCLKFreq()/1000); HAL_SYSTICK_CLKSourceConfig(SYSTICK_CLKSOURCE_HCLK); With this I get a display with a visible scan line like shown http://imgur.com/ZRgDCOG (120/4/4 = 7.5 MHz for the pixel clock). According to the datasheet, the maximum pixel clock supported is 50MHz (from which we are quite far). As soon as I try to bring the pixel clock a little higher : PeriphClkInitStruct.PLLSA
Posted on June 01, 2014 at 21:49Hi All, We are using STM32F429 Controller with LS013B7DH03 Monochrome LCD. As per document STemWin5.pdf :30.1.4 Available, but not yet migrated drivers GUIDRV_Mem - No controller, writes into main memory Requires ISR or special hardware to refresh LCD (monochrome displays) So It seems our LCD should fit into category of GUIDRV_Mem. and So as per document it seems this drivers are not supported in current version of stemwin STemWinLibrary522. So is there any new version available of stemwin which supports GUIDRV_Mem ? As we are using MDK-Middleware Version 5.1.4 for Keil. It has example LCDConf.c under Sample\LCDConf for different displays. So any sample config file LCDConf.c available which demonstrates using GUIDRV_Mem ? Please help us on this. -Vismay #stemwin-stm32f429 #stemwin #stm32f429discovery

Posted on September 22, 2015 at 08:41Dear all,I'm playing with stemwin 5.28, especially with Listbox. I found a new function (in compare with 5.22) mentioned in documentation and available in h-file. The function is LISTBOX_EnableWrapMode. I suspect that listbox with this enabled function should scroll through all items in a infinite loop. I call it in WM_INIT_DIALOG handling case right after fill the listbox with items. But nothing happens.. It just doesn't work.. I mean it works the same with this call and without this call.. Am I doing something wrong, maybe? Any tips are greatly appreciated #stemwin

Posted on February 12, 2015 at 12:36 Hi, I am new to STemWin and evaluating using STM32F429I-DISCO. I want to evaluate the TTF file related font functions but the linker is erroring with ''no definition'' for GUI_TTF_CreateFont. The steps I have taken, 1. Downloaded and extracted STM32CubeF4 2. Launched IAR project stm32cubef4\STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.4.0\Projects\STM32F429I-Discovery\Demonstrations\EWARM 3. From STemWin526.pdf page 209 ran example code 4. To define 'aTTF' in the example code converted a TTF file to a C file Please can someone clarify if GUI_TTF_CreateFont() is supported in STemWin? Thank you. #gui_ttf_createfont #stemwin #ttf

But the picture is displayed quickly if it is one, and there is a delay: // ------ fast displayPosL1(320, 240, 0, 0); Camera_SnapshotStart(); HAL_Delay(200); displayBackgroundL1((uint32_t)&cameraImage); // ------ // ------ slowly: displayPosL1(320, 240, 0, 0); Camera_SnapshotStart(); HAL_Delay(100); displayBackgroundL1((uint32_t)&cameraImage); // ------ // slowly: while(1){ displayPosL1(320, 240, 0, 0); Camera_SnapshotStart(); HAL_Delay(100); displayBackgroundL1((uint32_t)&cameraImage); // Quickly the first time onl
Posted on November 17, 2014 at 06:01Hi,I want to implement DCMI on the STM32F429I Discovery using OV7670. I am using external clock of 20MHz for OV7670 clock source. I can get the frame interrupt, but cannot get the dma interrupt working. Also, no data is written to the buffer. My code is posted below. So my question is can i actually implement DCMI with STM32F429 and use lcd at the same time? I am using lcd driver without ltdc, so the dcmi pin is still not used. And, how can I write data received to DCMI to the data buffer? Any help will be greatly appreciatedThanksVincentcode https://www.dropbox.com/s/rcdn0erle0epxna/CameraTest.zip?dl=0 #stm32f429 #dcmi #lcd #dma
