I am considering the STM32U595VJT6 for use in an upcoming design, and found that when I looked on STM32CubeIDE that the FatFS Middleware is missing. Is this something that can be added to the project? Or is there a better alternative for interfacing with an SD card? I find it odd that this chip with 2 SDIO doesn't support FatFS on the IDE yet.On another note, I have tried to copy the included files from another project where FatFS worked, but I get an error that MX_FATFS_Init() is undefined. I have included my code below, where I have made clear #include for the fatfs.h and I've made sure to include the path for these files in compiler include paths. I thought that including the path would fix it but it didn't. I was able to fix it by moving all the c and h files into the Inc and Src folders. What is the correct method of including a new path? And would this method work with the actual MCU? I don't have one here to test if this works.Shown below is a picture of the Include Pa

I'm trying to write some data to a address in the flash memory of the above mentioned chip. However the Erase doesn't seem to work. void writeToFlash(uint32_t address, uint64_t data, uint64_t data2){ // Unlock the Flash Program controller HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); // Setting Up the Erase FLASH_EraseInitTypeDef EraseInitStruct; EraseInitStruct.TypeErase = FLASH_TYPEERASE_PAGES; EraseInitStruct.Banks = 2; EraseInitStruct.Page = 127; EraseInitStruct.NbPages = 1; // simple function only sending 8 Bytes at the time. uint32_t pageError; //Erasing specific part of memory HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&EraseInitStruct, &pageError); //Programming the flash, last adress of the second Bank! HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_DOUBLEWORD, address, data); HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_DOUBLEWORD, address + 0x08, data2); //Locking the flash back up HAL_FLASH_Lock(); } In the main I'm calling the following: writeToFlash(0x0807FFF0, 0x00FFFFFF9A6410AC, 0x00000000016410AC

Hi,We have a custom firmware running in an STM32F427, and I'd like to find out what the highest frequency supported on a timer with an external clock source using ETR function.Based on AN4776, I can use a prescaler function (ETR) to read clock frequencies above the timer clock speed, due to resynchronization, I must respect a 1/3 order of the maximum APB speed. Given our APB of 90MHz, the maximum TIMClk is 30MHz.My issue is, can I prescaler x8 this source clock and utilize it with a 240MHz clock input using the ETR function? (Timer Clock = 240/8 = 30MHz)?Or perhaps there's something else I'm overlooking.

Hi @John E KVAM and @Anne BIGOT I'm attempting to mimic the ideal operation of the VL53L8CX in simulation. I've traced out 64 rays from the sensor within the the 45x45 degrees FOV as shown. Consider the top row (underlined in black) the rays are drawn at a vertical angle of 19.6875 and a horizontal angle of [-19.6875, -14.0625, -8.4375, -2.8125, 2.8125, 8.4375, 14.0625, 19.6875] with the centre positioned at (x, y, z) = (0, 0, 0). The intersection points with the plane presented slighly drop down resulting in a curve as shown by the black line due to the plane being closer to the sensor for the smaller horizontal angles. This ensures the ray is centred in each ~5x5 pixel. Does this accuretly depict the sensor operation? Please find the picture attached. Looking forward to hearing your reply and any suggestions!Kind regards,David

Hi all!I am making a PCB with STM32H723, and have chosen this MCU due to its greats specs and versatility. However I would like to add at least 4Mbit (0.5MB) of RAM, either as SDRAM, SRAM or PSRAM etc. using the FMC (Flexible memory controller). However I am lost in the process of choosing the best possible external RAM for this MCU.I want to achieve the highest memory transfer speed, but it needs to be compatible with the STM32H723. I see there are technologies like HyperBus and OctoSPI, but I assume parallell is the best. In the .ioc file, the FMC can be configured to run at 275 MHz, but I don't know if that is realistic to achieve reliably.I can see that in this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h28D4AaPSjg the achieved frequency is 95 MHz, but using a SDRAM which in theory have lower performance than SRAM or PSRAM. Any suggestions of a great RAM for my purpouse? If anyone have some feedback or tips, I would appreciate it!

Dear Community, even after reading what feels like 100 posts, I still can't manage to set the filter so that exclusively 2 IDs are let through.I use the extendet ID, 1 Byte IDs and have managed to let exactly one ID through with the MASK_MODE, as you can see here: canfilterconfig.FilterActivation = CAN_FILTER_ENABLE; canfilterconfig.FilterFIFOAssignment = CAN_FILTER_FIFO0; canfilterconfig.FilterBank = 1; canfilterconfig.FilterMode = CAN_FILTERMODE_IDMASK; canfilterconfig.FilterScale = CAN_FILTERSCALE_32BIT; canfilterconfig.FilterIdHigh = CAN_ModuleAddr<<3; canfilterconfig.FilterIdLow = 0; canfilterconfig.FilterMaskIdHigh = 0xF<<3; //Only the Address Bits will be compared canfilterconfig.FilterMaskIdLow = 0x0000; canfilterconfig.FilterFIFOAssignment = CAN_RX_FIFO0; canfilterconfig.SlaveStartFilterBank = 1; Now I not only want to let the CAN_ModuleAddr through, but also the ID 0xFF.I would be infinitely grateful for any tips, illustrative material or further

Hi guys -I am designing a motor control board around an STM32G474. Main power (for driving the voltage regulators, motor drivers, and ultimately the STM itself) will be provided by a large LiPo. Backup power (VBAT, to keep the RTC on the STM, and its external 32.7680 kHz MEMS oscillator, going when the STM is disconnected from main power) will be from an ML1220 coin cell. I would like to shut down entirely the main power on the board for extended periods of time. I would like to use the RTC on the STM to enable/disable (using an RTC_OUT line) the main power MOSFET controller (a TI LM74700-Q1) on the board at scheduled times (or, when a restart button is pressed, or when a wakeup signal is received over the LPUART channel), and then to disable this main power MOSFET controller when the motor control board can again be turned off.For this to work, I think I have two main questions:When the STM is in VBAT mode, at wake-up time, is the RTC_OUT1 line on the STM sufficiently powerful to enab

Hello,I hope this message finds you well. I am currently managing over eight Zigbee devices connected to one Coordinator in a star topology fashion (8 or more End devices to one Coordinator). However, the manual procedure for flashing new firmware is proving to be time-consuming. Consequently, I have decided to implement Zigbee OTA clusters to facilitate over-the-air firmware updates.Regrettably, I am facing challenges in finding comprehensive guidance on this matter. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in providing examples or references related to OTA clusters.Thank you in advance for your support.Best regards,Naani Ch

GreetingsI am trying to read from the FIFO of the LIS2DW12. What confuses me, is that reading through the datasheet, there are only registers which indicate the number of unread samples in the FIFO (FIFO_SAMPLES (2Fh)), and a control register FIFO_CTRL (2Eh). What I am expecting, are dedicated registers from the conventional OUTPUT registers which a device like the LSM6DSOX has. The LIS2DW12 does not possess such registers, thus what address do I do a read from, that will be able to provide the 32 samples it is able to hold in its FIFO? Will it be the conventional OUTPUT registers?Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.

I found the DMA request mapping of the F4 series on ST's official website. With this form, I can configure DMA on zephyr. My problem is that I cannot find the DMA request mapping of STM32WBA52CG. Can you provide me with one? Thank you.The device tree file requires channel and request parameters.

Hi, i`m new to stm32. I have a STM32469I EVAL Rev C Board And Using STM32CubeIDE. I downloaded STM32CubeF4 Firmware Package V1.28.0 from CubeMx but, I can`t find OTG Firmware Upgrade Example for STM32469I EVAL. Where can I find OTG FirmwareUpgrade Example for STM32469I EVAL?

Hello,I need to detect input when it goes over REF/2 (1.65V). I do supply VREF+ pin with 3.3000V.My signal has offset of 1.2V, and it will go over 2V when I apply signal to it.Everything is working, but it has unexpected behavior. I can only use negative input as VREF, if I set it to anything else, I get constant 1.I tested my VREF+ input, and it is 3.3000V ( 0.5% REF chip). Also testes signal on PB0 pin, and it is 1.200 or >2.00VWith debugger I do see BRGEN and SCALEN bits enabled.  But it just does not act as it suppose to. What do I am missing. is Vrefint needs to be enabled? I was unable to find this information... Also I am using LL libs.      Does any one has experience regarding this ?void EXTREF_DETECT_Init(void) { LL_GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; LL_APB4_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_APB4_GRP1_PERIPH_COMP12); LL_AHB4_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_AHB4_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOB); LL_AHB4_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_AHB4_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOC); GPIO_InitStruct.Pin

Hello. I was powering up my NUCLEO-F446ZE microcontroller board using an external power supply of 5V. I set the jumper JP3 to E5V. I made some changes in the code and tried to connect the board to the USB to burn the code to its memory. I forgot to remove the external power supply and simply removed the E5V and connected it to U5V. I suddenly inspected that smoke came out of regulator IC U6. Now whenever I am connecting the board to the USB, the over current LED LD5 is blinking and as a result U4 is getting heated up a lot. I know that my Nucleo board has been fried up. Have I made a big mistake with the input power? Can anybody explain me that? Is there any way that this board can be made functional again? Thanks!

Hi to all,my STM32CubeIDE 1.12 installation does not complete the update to version 1.14.During the update the error returns:An error occurred while collecting items to be installedsession context was:(profile=STM32CubeIDE, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,javax.annotation,1.3.5.v20230504-0748In this condition I noticed that the projects generated with the MX cube are not loaded or opened in the IDE (the cubeMX has been updated). I don't know if the two things are connected.Do you have any suggestions ?

Dear Community member,We have developed a PCB for Air pollution measurement using STM32G473VET6 MCU. We were able to flash the program successfully, but we didn't receive any output from GPIO, UART, USB, etc. None of the peripherals are working except VCC, GND, and JTAG. Please guide us on how to resolve this issue.best regardsNeerajFounder & CEORadifonics Solutions Pvt LtdIndira Nagar, Bangalore-560038

I don't know if it's a write function usage error or a write address error, but here's what NFC gets.

Hi, i am using Timers to control the intensity of a RGB LED. I need help with a code because I don't know why i have to do this thing.I have these lines:TIM1->CCR1 = Intensity; For Red ColorTIM1->CCR2 = Intensity; For green colorTIM1->CCR4 = Intensity; For blue color but it doesn't work while calling (&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_4);But if i do this:// Set alternate output for CH2, disabling main output (no need of it because already disabled, but just in case)CLEAR_BIT(TIM1->CCER, 1 << 4);SET_BIT(TIM1->CCER, 1 << 6);// Set alternate output for CH1, disabling main output (no need of last thing but whatever)CLEAR_BIT(TIM1->CCER, 1 << 0);SET_BIT(TIM1->CCER, 1 << 2);HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_4); It starts working. This last code is not mine, this is why i am asking this. Why i have to use clear bit, and do this shifts? I have no idea with this.  Thank you so much.

Hi,I have been experimenting with secure boot on the STM32H573I-DK, but I can't perform a regression anymore. While adapting the example code (OEMiROT) to my own version, I am currently in the situation where the device is "provisioned" (0x2e), but I have lost the keys/certificates because they were accidentally overwritten during my experiments. So I can't open up the debug access port anymore. TrustZone is enabled (0xb4).Currently with the STM32CubeProgrammer I can connect to the device in hotplug mode:And I can read out the registers:After doing some research for other ST platforms (the STM32U5 for example), it seems to be possible to "unprovision" the device using the STM32CubeProgrammer. However, changing both the PRODUCT_STATE and TZEN registers to 0xED and 0xC3 respectively results in an error:Additionally, the STM32CubeProgrammer manual documents a possibility to disable TrustZone via CLI (https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um2237-stm32cubeprogrammer-software-description

Hello, I am trying to implement a Normal Mode CAN communication using the STM32F407 discovery board and sn65hvd230 transceiver. Hello, I'm trying to validate a CNN model using X-CUBE-AI and the STM32H747I-DISCO board with the microcontroller STM32H747XIH6. The Flash memory size should be 2MB and 1MB of RAM. However, the memory limit is bellow the expected one. For instance, the Flash is limited to 1MB (please see the picture from the attachment). Can someone please help me with an explanation?Thank you very much!

Hello, I looked over the internet and couldn't find the firmware, even tried older versions of mcsdk, no example board of ptool1v1. In 2022 similar post was made that was looking ptool1v1 firmware and answer was redirected to the page that doesn't exist anymore.

Hi, can i control a motor with Algobuilder? or the software is only used to visualize the data?

Hi, ı have a  question about flash size difference between STM32F107RB nd STM32F107RC. Documentation says that stm32f107rb has 128kb flash memory and stm32f107rc has 256kb flash memory size.  DOCUMENT NUMBER:PM0075 says that STM23F107 are connectivity line mcu and it has 128 page with 2kb memory on page number 9 of document.  When ı calculate, it makes 256kb with 128 page with 2kb. I am using STM32F107RB  and ı tried to write to last page which is page 127 starts from 0x0803F800. I have succesfully write and read something from this address without any problem. But how can it be possible? Stm32f107rb has 128kb memory there should be maximum 64page with 2kb page size. There should be something, could you please help me about this issue ? If stm32f107rb has 128kb flash memory, how can it be possible to write and read from 128.page which is 2kb flash memory ? there should not be any page after 64.page for stm32f107rb ?

Hello,Please, I am working on a Custom Project with STM32H7 platform and I am using a NAND Flash for Data Storage (W25N01GVZEIG). I can execute correctly all commands except :(32h) Quad Program Data Load . I can write using (02h) Program Data Load with SPI mode with no issues, but once I switch to Quad mode (32h) the data written is not correct, seems there is some bits corruption.{0x11,0x22,0x44,0x88} is written {0x91,0x22,0x04,0x48}. I suspected the pinout first but the Quad read is working fine. I saw a similar question QSPI of STM32L496A but didn't fix my issue.Could you support on this? Thanks,Ayoub

Hi Everyone,                    Can i use the HAL based library in my code for making commercial product?                    or                   Need to use only register based code for making commercial products?
