Dear community,I'm currently working on a student project where we need to analyze the performance of the FMAC unit of the STM32G4. My idea is to implement an FIR filter and measure how many clock cycles the FMAC operation takes to filter a predefined set of test data. I also plan to measure the execution time. After that, I intend to compare the results by implementing the same FIR filter in software using the CMSIS library.I found AN4841 , which demonstrates performance measurement results of the CMSIS FIR filter on two different STM32 platforms.Since I've never done this kind of performance benchmarking before, my question is how are the number of cycles and duration measured? Should we use the SysTick timer or the DWT unit for time measurement?Thank you!

I can see from logging that my Presenter's #activate is called after the screen's #setupScreen. This seems wrong. The screen depends on the presenter. There should be an opportunity for the presenter to initialize itself before the screen uses it.Am I misunderstanding something? Thanks.

Im trying to bootloader my firmware in my nucleo G431RB vía canbus with a StLink v3 set,  its posible?. In An2606 says there is no opción.Do i have to write the bootloader ? And with that i will be able to load vía StLink v3 set?

I am trying to program my RVT70HSSFWC0 Display it fails every time, although the simulation works perfectly. I have not written any extra C++ code, yet, because I want to make sure everything works fine before I do. When clicking on program and run target the compiling fails. I've read instruction on how to flash my display. So far I have,-Downloaded STM32CubeProgrammer-Moved the QSPI_STM32H747I-Riverdi-MICRON_V2.stldr to Program Files\STMicroelectronics\STM32Cube\STM32CubeProgrammer\bin\ExternalLoader-Powered the display while:Running the program through TouchGFXRunning the program through STM32ProgrammerThe ST-Link connects properly to the display.I get this error:  Compiling Middlewares/ST/STM32_USB_Host_Library/Class/MSC/src/usbh_msc.c Compiling Middlewares/ST/STM32_USB_Host_Library/Class/MSC/src/usbh_msc_bot.c Compiling Middlewares/ST/STM32_USB_Host_Library/Class/MSC/src/usbh_msc_scsi.c Compiling Utilities/JPEG/jpeg_utils.c Compiling Common/Src/system_stm32h7xx_

Hi, Iam a embedded systems engineer currently working on a NFC payment terminal using Android as it OS.We have selected the ST25R3916B chip as the NFC transceiver, given its hardware characteristics it would be perfectly suitable for our application.I know that there is no currently working example of its linux demo driver "STSW-ST25R013" on Android, and would like some directions on how I could implement this integration, Iam already familiar with the Android framework architecture, and have seen that the st21nfca and st95hf chips have been integrated into android in the past, but in both cases they dont use RFAL, and the above mentioned demo driver for the st25r3916b chip does use it. So, is there any nfc chip that has been integrated into Android that is similar enough to st25r3916b for me to use as a base for integration? Any help or information is appreciated, and if ST could directly give me any support I would be glad to share the code with the community once its has been fully

I have been trying to get the debug setup running in CubeIDE 1.16 according to : dm00629855 Getting started with projects based on dual-core STM32H7 microcontrollers in STM32CubeIDE - Application noteAnd I was able do see the debug break point holding in the main of M7. Then it ended no ware, so I did a retry of the launch group and then "I got No device found on target" from The ST-Link GDB link. Here I am stuck: Also tryed:Reset the ST-Link and the USB tree and the Port numbers of GDB - this did not help. Then also the Cube Programmer  not find the device but the ST-Link is there so what did the debug session do to the MCU to be undetectable ?!  So what could I have done wrong and what can I do to bootstrap ? please help

Hello.I have a question while using two examples(BLE_Audio_TMAP_Central, BLE_Audio_TMAP_Peripheral) provided in STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.4.0.This example provides voice communication via BLE.In this process, I want to transmit voice communication data via UART or SPI communication as well as BLE.However, the configuration for BLE communication is not disclosed in the shared function in the project. (tmap_.app.c, codec_mngr.h) void APP_NotifyTxAudioCplt(uint16_t AudioFrameSize)CODEC_ReceiveData(TMAPAPP_Context.cis_snk_handle[i], 1, &aSnkBuff[0] + AudioFrameSize/2 + i); void APP_NotifyRxAudioCplt(uint16_t AudioFrameSize)CODEC_SendData(TMAPAPP_Context.cis_src_handle[i], 1, &aSrcBuff[0] + AudioFrameSize/2 + i); I would like to ask if there is a way to disclose or guide the configuration of this part.

Hi,a bit of a basic question... for years I used PIC micros so I was very familiar with their manuals, register and bit naming etc.But being new to STM32 I found it difficult to figure out an easy way to find the naming of registers and bits inside register (without having to read tens of pages every time)? Both in the reference manual (RM0394) and also the related HAL function? So for example, what is a quick and simple way to find the register name and description for things like changing the polarity PWM CH1 CHN polarity as highlighted in the screenshot below (or any other register and register bit)? Thank you as always.

Hi,I am relatively new to STM32 development and would greatly appreciate any assistance with the following issue.I am encountering the following compile-time error: C:/mvt1/TouchGFX/gui/src/settingsa_screen/SettingsAView.cpp:7:10: fatal error: ..\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver\Inc\Legacy\stm32_hal_legacy.h: No such file or directory 7 | #include <..\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver\Inc\Legacy\stm32_hal_legacy.h> | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ compilation terminated. I have added the necessary path to my project settings, and the file stm32_hal_legacy.h is present in the specified folder. Despite this, the IDE is unable to locate the file. Could you please provide guidance on why this issue might be occurring? Thanks

I want to be absolutely sure, so should T_NRST be connected to CPU reset. (In this case STM32H750.)

The hardware for my project is an Arduino Opta, which utilizes the STM32H747XI dual core processor. We are trying to implement a watchdog timer for our application because the OS occasionally crashes. The start and kick timer functionality works without a problem. However, we are having trouble stopping the timer. We need to stop the timer during over-the-air "OTA" updates because it is a long running process. If I am understanding the datasheet correctly, it appears that stopping the timer is only available in debug mode. Please confirm. If stopping the timer is not an option, how would you recommend we tackle this problem? Is it possible to do the OTA update on the second core while the timer is running along with the main application on the first? Thanks in advance for your help. I've spent a lot of time trying to solve this problem.Regards, Mark

Hello,Can anyone suggest whether or not I need to connect external capacitors to the VREF+ pin if I plan to use VREF only for the onboard DAC?Could this be a hardware problem?STM32G431CBT6. The problem is that on the oscillogram I see oscillations with an amplitude of approximately 490 mV on the VREF+ pin. This is when Scale 2 is set to 2.9 V. If I reduce to 2.5V, the swing will be almost 1V overall. Nothing but the 1:10 oscilloscope probe is connected to the VREF+ pin on the board.Below are the screenshots.

Hello,VCAP1 and VCAP2 are external capacitors for the core's voltage regulator. The data sheet for the STM32F479VI states that, "Stabilization for the main regulator is achieved by connecting an external capacitor CEXT to the VCAP1/VCAP2 pins."I interpret this as a series connection, like this,Table 19 gives some more information,It mentions "the two 2.2uF Vcap capacitors...", are they bypass capacitors that need to connect to ground, one for each pin? I looked around online and found people using this scheme, Which scheme is correct?Should I adjust the total capacitance to be 2.2u for the second scheme i.e 2 x 4.7uF would be OK?Using two capacitors (as above) would decouple RF and half the ESR, which are both useful.Regards,

Hello,I'm using a STM32F479VI but I do not need the DSI (display) functionality for my current application. It seems that block runs on a independent power supply derived from VDD.Can I leave the DSI power pins floating or should I power them anyway?

Hello, This is how an STM32F479VI appears in CubeIDE without doing any configuration.DSI is actually disabled, but the pin are light green and set RESET_STATE when I hoover over them. What is CubeIDE trying to tell me?I do not want to use DSI in this board, I will keep it disabled, do I need to do any configuration with this pins?Regards,

Hello Everyone,I am running CubeIDE on Windows 10. It installed easily and from the little that I know it runs ok.I have the official ST-Link interface for OTHER THAN the Nucleo board and I have upgraded the firmware in there to current release.I have been working on programming an embedded board for 3 weeks now, with only a little bit of success.=== NUCLEOI have Nucleo-stm32H743 board.I wrote a simple blinky-light program. It compiles (Release) with no errors or warnings.I download with CubeIDE. CubeIDE says it downloaded ok.If I press Reset button on Nucleo board, LED does not blink. If I power down the Nucleo board, then back on, LED does not blink.I repeated the above download by first connecting Boot0 to 3.3vdc.Then when programming complete, remove the 3.3vdc jumper. Note on Nucleo board Boot0 is tied low with a pernament 10k ohm resistor.LED does not blink.I quit the CubeIDE program and ran CubeProgrammer. As above, I get the result that the file (.elf) was downloaded ok.Reset (but

Hi,I am currently working on STM32H7S3 family. I want to set up SAI2 peripherals on CubeMX application. But, SAI2 can be enabled from multimedia, only SAI2B can be activated. SAI2A cannot be enabled from the Mode and Configuration screen. You can find the CubeMX screen shots below. In data sheet there is no problem with SAI2A interface. Is there any problem about my configuration or CubeMX? Thanks in advance Yavuz

Hi,My LCD display format is RGB666, I removed the "LCD_R0,LCDR1, LCD_G0,LCD_G1,LCD_B0,LCD_B1" in file "stm32mp15-pinctrl.dtsi", and recompile my device tree, then upload to my board. HAI , I have STM32L496ZGP nucleo 144 board, I want port threadx on that. I gone through some youtube video , in that in middleware and software packs option they told to select threadx , but in my STM32cubeIDE , threadx option is not there. Only FREERTOS option is there. So how to add threadx to that. Can you share me some documents/links to do threadx on above board from scratch. Thanku

I'm trying to use the MVP system in what is hopefully a correct manner. The way I understand it, the Presenter takes the data from the Model and assembles it in a way that the View can display. However, in the present implementation of the MVP in TouchGFX, the view is being configured before the Presenter has a chance to configure this information. For example, when trying to implement a scroll wheel, I'm supposed to override the ScrollWheelUpdateItem as below:void Screen2View::scrollWheel1UpdateItem(ListItem& item, int16_t itemIndex) { touchgfx::TypedTextId id = presenter->getParameterOptionText(itemIndex);   std::cout << "Setting text index to:" << id << std::endl; item.setText(id); }However, the call tree for switching to a different view is first initializing the view and *then* initializing the presenter. The following is from the TouchGFX library (MVPApplication.hpp):static inline void finalizeTransition(Screen* newScreen, Presenter* newPresenter, Tr

HelloI design a PCB and I am using STM32F446VET7When I try to debug in competely clear project (created from STM32Cube IDE - Cube mx)I got the void HardFault_Handler(void) function after  SystemClock_Config();. With HSE or HSI dosent matter I got the same error. I got 2 more same PCB which work fine, so my design is not problem.I recheck my solder and change my mcu still the same.I also check the BOOT0 pin which connected GND. What could be the problem?

Hello all,it seems that when starting a timer in PWM mode, using TIM_CHANNEL_ALL does not work. Everything works fine as long as I start the channels consecutively, (i.e. TIM_CHANNEL_1, then TIM_CHANNEL_2, etc.) but as soon as I change this to TIM_CHANNEL_ALL, the PWM output stops working. Has anyone else encountered this problem yet or am I doing something wrong?regardsHerby
