I am recently trying to interface EM18 reader module with STM 32 with PA10 (RX) pin with UART1 for communication it seems to not working I am also trying to print it to serial monitor.see attach rar file for code. I am beginner so can any one help.

I have a custom board with a STM32H747 micro on board, interfacing with a LCD driven by OTM8009A over the MIPI DSI interface. I have taken the driver code from the DISCO eval board which I used to design and build my board. On calling OTM8009A_Init(), the first four write reg calls run fine - entering in command 2 mode and set EXTC to enable address shift function and entering ORISE command 2 and shifting the address to 0x80 - however, every write command after that fails with a timeout. The timeout appears to be generated by the command FIFO being full and not clearing.Firstly, how likely is this to be down to a hardware error with the board itself?Secondly, if it is more likely down to the hardware configuration in the micro, what should be the first thing to investigate? I have copied the CubeMX setup from the eval board demo that I had running. Finally, what's the best way to debug the physical communications between the micro and screen on the DSI lines? What should I be looking fo

We are making a board using stm32f767nih6. There seems to be a problem with RTC and Vbat while testing the board.First, we are using LSE with a 32.768Khz external crystal oscillator. However, there is a symptom that it slows down by about 10 seconds during approximately 40 minutes.Second, we have set up Vbat to supply 3.3V using a coin battery. However, when the power is turned off and turned on after a certain period of time, the RTC restarts around the point where the power was turned off.For example, when the power is turned off at 10:00 and turned on at 10:30, the time displayed on the device is 10:00.

Hi everyone,I'm thoroughly flummoxed and in need of guidance.  I have a VL53L4CD rangefinder on the SparkFun breakout board that will not play nice with my Raspberry Pi.  Long story short, the rangefinder seems to be ACKing prematurely under certain conditions.  Confusingly, an identical setup has worked great in the past.BackgroundLast year I used the VL53L4CD as part of a simple Raspberry Pi 4B-controlled payload.  Using the SparkFun breakout board we did some lab testing with the rangefinder connected straight to the Pi, powered by the Pi's 3V3 regulator.  We had some issues with continually bombarding the rangefinder with DataReady() requests but by waiting a few ms between queries our problems went away.  The final product involved a couple custom PCBs with a beefier 3V3 linear regulator for the non-Pi electronics and an LTC4316 I2C address translator in between the Pi and rangefinder, and the whole setup worked great.  Software was the&nbsp

Hi,I noticed that the number of spad used reduces as an object gets closer to VL53L4CD. I was thinking about using this to make my distance measurement better. It also helps me to detect if the object is moving much in the field of view as i noticed, once i move away from the field of view of sensor number of spad increases again. But this behaviour can only be observed below 20cm as after that the number of spad peaks. Is there anyway i can reconfigure the sensor to give me similar behaviour till 40cm?I realise that reducing the number of active SPADs could reduce accuracy, but I'm wondering if there’s a way to reconfigure the sensor to maintain a similar pattern at greater distances. I just want to test and see if i could find something interesting out of it.Regards,Kiran

The datasheet for the VN9D5D20F lists "Reverse battery through self turn-on" as a bullet point under "Protection", while the VN9D5D20FN datasheet does not.  This appears to be one of the major differences between the two parts, but I do not understand what it means and was unable to find a description in the VN9D5D20F datasheet. What does "reverse battery through self turn-on" do?VN9D5D20F:VN9D5D20FN:VN9D5D20F - 4-channel high-side driver with 24-bit SPI interface for automotive applications - STMicroelectronicsVN9D5D20FN - 4-channel high-side driver with 24-bit SPI interface for automotive applications - STMicroelectronics

Hello, I've previously posted asking about gesture and hand posture output and I've finally got an output from both of the model. The problem is the method of getting an output for gesture and hand posture is different. For gesture, I'm able to use GestureEVK software and achieve some results for gesture but for hand posture I'm only able to get an result through local terminal/Putty. Is it possible to integrate both of the processses to have them running on one program that can recognize both gesture and posture?Or is it possible that there are already methods of have gesture and hand posture running on one program?Any ideas or hint would be useful! Thank you! Emily

While I got some experience with Cortex M devices - including several STM32 families - and Linux as host OS, I'm pretty new to asymmetrical dual-core systems like the STM32MP1 devices. What sets them apart is the tight integration of both cores, and the ability to run realtime bare-metal applications in close cooperation with Linux as a host OS. Or so I think. What I got already are the MP135-DK on the way, the OpenLinux Dev package installed and running, and a small user space application built. The CubeMP1 and CubeMP13 packages with the CM4 BSP, HAL, and very few examples. And of course the MP1 datasheets/reference manuals, which I browsed.I think I have identified some of the important chapter, but I'm not yet through. So, here my questions.Since I haven't found any such thing yet, is there a single proper documentation of the API for synchronisation and communication between the CA7 and CM4 core ?In particular, configuration of CM4 setting, code deployment (as the CM4 seems to execute

[VERSION]: 6.3.1[TOOL]: Firmware[DETAILS]:The implementation of MCM_Modulus defined in mc_math.h calls the CORDIC peripheral like this: LL_CORDIC_WriteData(CORDIC, (((uint32_t)beta << 16U) | (uint32_t)alpha)); This works fine as long as alpha is positive. However, when converting a negative alpha from int16_t to uint32_t the upper 16 bits will all be '1', hence beta is overwritten. [PROPOSED SOLUTION]:Mask the upper bits of alpha before combining with beta.LL_CORDIC_WriteData(CORDIC, (((uint32_t)beta << 16U) | ((uint32_t)alpha & 0xFFFF))); Note: Images are attached that show calculated phase current using the wrong and the correct conversions respectively.

Hello,I have installed a fresh STM32CubeProgrammer on my Fedora 41 Linux system, but I am unable to run it.After installation, I have tried running it both using the desktop menu entry and from terminal, however it never starts and crashes with the message "assertion 'GDK_IS_X11_DISPLAY (display)' failed"~ $ cd .local/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin/~/.local/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin $ ./STM32CubeProgrammer &[1] 15440~/.local/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin $ (java:15447): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 09:43:23.450: gdk_x11_display_set_window_scale: assertion 'GDK_IS_X11_DISPLAY (display)' failed## A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:## SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x0000000000000004, pid=15447, tid=0x00007f80980ff6c0## JRE version: OpenJDK Runtime Environment (8.0_382-b06) (build 1.8.0_382-b06)# Java VM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (25.382-b06 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops)# Problematic frame:# C 0x0000000000000004## Core dump written. Hi Expert, We are planning to use J1939 protocol for vehicle communication. We would like to clear few queries regarding this. Is J1939 CAN stack openly available? If no, do we need to purchase it? Is sample application available for communication using J1939? Any reference documents can be obtained for this? Please guide us here.

Good morning,I'm new to using the STM32. I have a Nucleo H755ZI-Q development kit.I need to write a command to SPI port type 0xfcd8000 or 0xfcb85b0 or 0x12000000. The max frame can be 32 bits.On the oscilloscope, I do have an SPI frame, but I always have an additional 0 bit at the end.I need to keep the value on the falling edge of the clock.When I write 0xfcd8000 (1111 1100 1101 1000 0000 0000 0000) , the SPI port writes 0x1F9B 0000 (0001 1111 1001 1011 0000 0000 0000 0000).It took me a while to configure it and I probably made a mistake. Could someone check my settings?Thank you in advance for your help. void SEND_COMMAND(uint32_t DATA) { /*SPI_DATA_SEND[0] = (DATA >> 24) & 0xFF; SPI_DATA_SEND[1] = (DATA >> 16) & 0xFF; SPI_DATA_SEND[2] = (DATA >> 8) & 0xFF; SPI_DATA_SEND[3] = DATA & 0xFF;*/ WAIT_BUSY(); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, CS1_AD5522_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); /*HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi1, SPI_DATA_SEND, 4, 1000);*/ HAL_SPI_

Hello community,I can't debug my program on my STM32L1 Disco because of the attached message. This in itself is not the problem, the problem is that I can't auto-update because it doesn't know what firmware is installed on the board itself! What can I do or what am I doing wrong?I am using the latest CubeIDE (1.16.1). Thanks in advance, you are my last hope. Best regards.Johannes

Hello everyone, I'm currently using  Nucleo-H743ZI2  but this aim to go on a custum PCB. LWIP (2.1.2) is activated without FREERTOS and my TCP server is working. I'm also using HAL function with CubeIDE (1.16.1). And I'm using an Aruba 2530-8G switch to visualize the Speed and Duplex ModeBut I'm having issues with the LAN8742A. Especially with the Duplex Mode of the LAN8742. I can't manage to make the duplex mode to Full Duplex . I already manage the speed and autonegociation well, but the Full Duplex mode is not working without AutoNegociation. What I did in order to manually configure the LAN8742 ?  - Writing in the SMR (Special Modes Register) of the LAN8742 which mode I wanted (Bit 5->7)- Writing in the BCR (Basic Control Register) of the LAN8742 the speed (Bit 13), the Auto-Negotiation (Bit 12), and the Duplex Mode (Bit 8)- Specify the Link State via lan8742.c function given by ST   // Function that write the configuration for the LAN8742 void appM

We are building an RFID reader. I copied the schematic and RF + antenna from the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1. The design works, but I have an issue with the reading distance. Some RFID tags are detected over 5 cm away, while others need to be placed less than 1 cm from the reader antenna. Where should I look to solve this issue?I tried some commercial readers, and they all read tags from the same distances. I cut the antenna from the NUCLEO-NFC08A1 and replaced the one on our reader, but the result was the same. I also replaced all the RF components on our reader with those on the NUCLEO, and there was no change.I tried many things related to RF design and antenna matching, but nothing helped. How can I achieve consistent reading of all RFID tags at the same distance, and ensure that the distance is more than 3 cm?I'm now suspecting the variable capacitors or some settings in the ST25R3916B.BestDejan

Hi there, this is an general question.Every serious engineer walks thru errata document as it gets published. So do I now.Do I have to review every HAL / LL function which may coincide with erratic behaviour? Is proposed in errata workaround already implemented in HAL / LL ?

I'm evaluating the VD55G0 sensor - using the cam-55g0 camera module and the STEVAL-EVK-U0I evalkit. Looking at the datasheet and other documentation (VD55G0 - Compact and high-sensitivity 0.38 megapixel monochrome global shutter image sensor - STMicroelectronics), there are mentions of binning, analog binning and digital binning  in various places. Binning and digital binning seem to refer to the same thing and can be set to 2x or 4x in the eval-kit software. But the analog binning, indicated to provide higher frame rates, is not described in any more detail than just the info under "features". My question is if this really is an analog binning that can be performed on the sensor (in my understanding that is commonly not a feature for CMOS sensors) - or if this refer to some other operation (subsampling, cropping etc)? If it really is an analog binning, are there any way to evaluate this mode using the evalkit with the promodule cameras? From the

Hi,I use STM32F103C8T6 a GPIO input pin to read a high or low signal from another GPIO output pin, and connect a 3Mohm resistor between two pins, and I notice touching GND with hand will influence the signal status, than I measure the resistance between GND and GPIO pin, it is around 10Mohm. I want to isolate the signal from GND interference, how should I do? I have to keep 3 Mohm resistor. will it be better if connect a capacitor between input pin and GND? or connect a large resistor in between?

Hello everyone,we are currently developing a new product based on the new STM32C071G8U. Unfortunately, we found some Bugs in the CubeIDE 16.1 CubeMX extension when configuring the peripheral of the microcontroller. 1. All Packages smaller than 48 pins are missing the HSE oscillator option. According to the datasheet, it should be possible to route the HSE to the OSCX pins. You can also verify this overwriting the automatically generated code to force the use of the HSE.  2. The settings in the clock configuration aren't applied and always default to divide by 1. 3. The STM32C071G8 has only 64 kB of flash, but the automatically generated linker script defines the flash size as 128 kB. It would be nice if you could address these bugs in your next software version.Kind regardsDominik Schmid

The provided example firmware of  STEVAL-ESC001V1 in MCSDK workbench, there is no code in main function while loop. As a beginner, I want to ask; How do we can actually give input and monitor motor performance? Like speed, current etc? Is it possible to provide external throttle signal and then use MCI_ExecSpeedRamp() function?

Hi,I am trying to configure an input capture on my STM32F051R8Tx. It works fine, I am supplying an external signal via a signal generator and my code measures exactly T=4ms pulses - which I expect. In my case, I am sampling with 24MHz, so the measured period is approx 96000. (96000/24000000 = 0.004 - nice!).But now I am trying to change the sampling frequency and it does not work, I keep reading 96000 as the period. Here is what I tried: // 1. change prescaler to divide timer clock by 24 - doesnt workTIM2->PSC = 24-1;// 2. divide PCLK (global timer clock) - worksRCC->CFGR |= 0b101<<8;// 3. manipulating t_dts and using it in for input capture filter - doesnt workTIM2->CR1 |= 0b01<<8;                          //t_dts = 2*clk_intTIM2->CCMR1 |= 0b0111 << 4;               //f_sampling = f_dts/ 4 The second method works

I am trying to write interrupts bare-metal style. When I try to set the interrupt vector for LPTIM1 (using B-L071Z-LRWAN1) using this method, NVIC_SetVector(LPTIM1_IRQn, (uint32_t)&LPTIM1_IRQHandler); the compiler gives me this error:../Core/Src/main.c:87:48: error: 'LPTIM1_IRQHandler' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'TIM6_IRQHandler'?87 | NVIC_SetVector(LPTIM1_IRQn, (uint32_t)&LPTIM1_IRQHandler);Which I find bizarre, since I am not using timer 6, and LPTIM1_IQRHandler is listed in startup_stm32l072czyx.s. I tried declaring LPTIM1_IRQHandler as an extern, but with no success. Attached is the startup file. How do I fix this?
