What are the differences between LPTIM and TIM, also doesTIM1,TIM2,TIM16,TIM17 work when the device is in STOP2 mode?

Hi,I am new with stm32F411 mcu, and i have a question. if i want to use RTC features, do i need to add an external 32.768kHz xtal ?Thanks.

Hello Everyone,Earlier we have successfully developed a variant using STM32F746 Discovery board but now we have shifted towards our own developed PCB with custom LCD Display 800 * 480.Our new PCB uses MT25Q128A external flash for storing images, text and font used by TouchGFX and we are using single buffer allocation in external SDRAM for framebuffer. We are using different pins for QuadSPI communication so had to develop custom external loader for this. We have tested the external loader for various images and it works fine.When we started inputting texts in TouchGFX the system would wait infinitely in xQueueSemaphoreTake() function so we suspected something might be wrong with loading from external flash so we created another project this time stored everything in internal flash, again the result was same, the TouchGFX hangs while using texts.After searching through the community we came across following links:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-touchgfx-and-gui/ui-stuck-in-takefr

Hello everyone,I'm using the II2SDH accelerometer and want to collect the data whenever the Data Ready Interrupt is fired. I'm using the INT1 pin for that and this is my configuration: SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG1, 0x9f); // Low power mode, 5.376Hz data rate, XYZ Axis enable SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG2, 0x00); SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG3, 0x10); // INT1 on data ready SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG4, 0x00); SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG5, 0x00); SPI_WriteByte(CTRL_REG6, 0x00);The INT1 pin is configured as external interrupt mode on STM32, but the interrupt won't triggered. Is there any other ways to collect the data correctly? Otherwise my FFT calculation is incorrect.Any ideas how to fix the problem will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi!I am currently developing an application using the LVGL library. Since I’m working with a display, I need extra memory to store all the data. To address this, I acquired a display module from Riverdi (based on the STM32H747xx), and they provided me with an .stldr file to program the QSPI flash.However, I am not using STM32CubeIDE because I prefer not to work with it. Instead, I’d like to use STM32CubeProgrammer to load the .stldr file and program the QSPI flash.My question is: how can I properly use STM32CubeProgrammer with my custom .stldr file to program the QSPI flash and my program at the same time?The stldr file is for communicating with the flash through the debugger? Thank you!

I'm using HRTIM Timer F to create two complementary outputs at TF1 and TF2 with deadtime.  I'm finding conflicting examples of how to set the output configuration of the two outputs.Which of these code segments is correct?  pOutputCfg.SetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTSET_MASTERCMP3; pOutputCfg.ResetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTRESET_TIMCMP1; if (HAL_HRTIM_WaveformOutputConfig(&hhrtim1, HRTIM_TIMERINDEX_TIMER_F, HRTIM_OUTPUT_TF1, &pOutputCfg) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } pOutputCfg.SetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTRESET_TIMCMP1; pOutputCfg.ResetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTSET_MASTERCMP3; if (HAL_HRTIM_WaveformOutputConfig(&hhrtim1, HRTIM_TIMERINDEX_TIMER_F, HRTIM_OUTPUT_TF2, &pOutputCfg) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }  or:   pOutputCfg.SetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTSET_MASTERCMP3; pOutputCfg.ResetSource = HRTIM_OUTPUTRESET_TIMCMP1; if (HAL_HRTIM_WaveformOutputConfig(&hhrtim1, HRTIM_TIMERINDEX_TIMER_F, HRTIM_OUTPUT_TF1, &pOutputCfg) != HAL_OK) { Error_H

Hello everyone!I have a quick question regarding memory allocation on an STM32H747XIHx MCU. While working with the linker file, I noticed the following memory definitions: MEMORY { RAM_D1 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x24000000, LENGTH = 512K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 1024K /* Memory is divided. Actual start is 0x08000000 and total length is 2048K */ DTCMRAM (xrw): ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K RAM_D2 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x30000000, LENGTH = 288K RAM_D3 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x38000000, LENGTH = 64K ITCMRAM (xrw): ORIGIN = 0x00000000, LENGTH = 64K } As you can see, the comment indicates that the total available FLASH memory is 2048 KB, but the linker file only defines 1024 KB.I then checked the reference manual and found that the FLASH memory spans from 0x08000000 to 0x081FFFFF, which confirms the 2048 KB size. However, when calculating the size using address boundaries (e.g., 0x080FFFFF - 0x08000000), the result is only 2023 KB, not 1024 KB as stated in the linker fi

I am trying to program a stm32l451cet6 microcontroller. My code works perfectly fine for 5-6 debug sessions. After a few debug sessions, this warning pops up with a different address for every hardware I use.When this break at address pops up, my code stops working. I tried debugging and found there was no break point at any line of the code. Why is this break even popping up?

Hello, I am wondering if there is any software reset for the VL53L8CX when using the ST provided API. When I reprogram my micro using ST-LINK but do not do a hard power reset on my device the VL53L8CX init fails. I have attached an image below showing soft reset ST-LINK operation and hard reset. In UM3183 I see that a power cycling of the device is recommended for reset. Is there any ability to do this through the API?    Point in which the VL53L8CX init fails:vl53l8cx_api.c  --> _vl53l8cx_send_offset_data() status |=_vl53l8cx_poll_for_answer(p_dev, 4, 1, VL53L8CX_UI_CMD_STATUS, 0xff, 0x03);  UM3183:

Hi there,I am currently working on upgrading our EV charging solution from OpenSTLinux Ecosystem v4 (Linux kernel 5.15) to Ecosystem v6 (Linux kernel 6.6).As part of the process to ensure we are on the right track, I have successfully upgraded to the minor release: OpenSTLinux release v4.1.0 (Linux 5.15-stm32mp-r2.2), and it is functioning as expected. The next step is to proceed with the upgrade to Ecosystem v6 (Linux kernel 6.6).In preparation for this, I regenerated the DTS files using STM32CubeMX_6.13.0 and loaded the existing .ioc file. While regenerating the DTS files using STM32CubeMX_6.1.3 and loading the existing .ioc file, I selected the Migrate option when prompted by the tool. Could you please confirm if this is the correct choice, or would selecting Continue be more appropriate in this case?Current Setup:I am now attempting to recompile the following components with updated versions:TF-A: v2.8-stm32mpOP-TEE: 3.19.0-stm32mpU-Boot: v2023.10-stm32mp Issue Encountere

Hi,I would like to set the minimum and maximum values of a dashboard chart using custom values calculated with a processing node.I tried "single value" and "change" nodes, but without success.I attached my current flow...Thank youWalter

I'm working with a STM32H723ZG and trying to set up SPI2 communication.I tracked down the issue where my LL_SPI_SetMode(SPI2, LL_SPI_MODE_MASTER) call does not set the Master bit in SPI2_CFG2 to 1, as intended (see Test #1 below).  However, if I call the function twice, the second one does set the Master bit to 1 (see Test #2 below).Does anyone know how that could happen?Test #1:  /* Configure SPI2 communication */ LL_SPI_SetBaudRatePrescaler(SPI2, LL_SPI_BAUDRATEPRESCALER_DIV4); LL_SPI_SetTransferDirection(SPI2,LL_SPI_FULL_DUPLEX); LL_SPI_SetDataWidth(SPI2, LL_SPI_DATAWIDTH_8BIT); LL_SPI_SetNSSMode(SPI2, LL_SPI_NSS_SOFT); LL_SPI_SetMode(SPI2, LL_SPI_MODE_MASTER); //this first call does nothing? Disassembly block when debugging for the last 2 lines:   1629: MODIFY_REG(SPIx->CFG2, SPI_CFG2_SSM | SPI_CFG2_SSOE, NSS); 0x08001D2E 68C1 LDR r1,[r0,#0x0C] 0x08001D30 F0215110 BIC r1,r1,#0x24000000 0x08001D34 F0416180 ORR r1,r1,#0x4000000 0x08001D38 60C1 STR r1,[r0,

Hello,when I change configuraion of my procejt STM32F103 in CubeMX  e.g.PIN&Configuration / SYS / Debug    item is changed  from "4 pins" to "5 pins" and I push "GENERATE buton" the code inside While cycle in main.c function in CubeIDE is changed at the same time. It is terrible. I thought that If I insert my user code inside the /* USER CODE END WHILE */  clause all such code is protected against changing when configuraion of my project is done in CubeMX. But it is NOT true. How can I solve this problem ?  /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHILE */ // LED ON HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_14, GPIO_PIN_SET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_15, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_Delay(500); // LED OFF HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_14, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_15, GPIO_PIN_SET); HAL_Delay(500); /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ } /* USER CODE END 3 */

Hello,We have run into a weird behaviour with the STM32G070KB. With PA8 defined as an input with internal pullup and PA9 as output push-pull. When PA9 is at low level and PA8 unconnected, PA8 is at VCC (3.3V) as expected.When PA9 is at high level, PA8 drops to 0.29V. Adding an external 10k pull up raises PA8 to around 1V.Actually after more tests, leaving PA9 as an input and driving it externally to VCC also makes PA8 to drop.We are using a custom board, but at this point after unsoldering components and cutting traces, both PA8 and PA9 are not connected to anything so this is not due to external components.This code sample reproduces the behaviour : int main(void) { SET_BIT(RCC->IOPENR, RCC_IOPENR_GPIOAEN); //Set PA8 as input pull up GPIOA->MODER &= ~GPIO_MODER_MODE8; GPIOA->PUPDR |= GPIO_PUPDR_PUPD8_0; //PA8 reads 3.3V as it should   //Set PA9 as output push-pull low GPIOA->MODER &= ~GPIO_MODER_MODE9_1; GPIOA->OTYPER &= ~GPIO_OTYPER_OT9; GPIOA

Board InformationI am using STM32H7B3I-DK and have generated a project using the TouchGFXDesigner. I have then modified the pin configuration through STM32CubeIDE.Problem DescriptionI want to read the value of a resistance (and thus the voltage) through the ADC and display it on the screen. I have looked at the board schematics and seen that I need to configure Pin PA4 to read ADC (ADC1_INP18). However, the clock needs to be reconfigured for some reason. So I run the automatic clock issue solver and flash the code to my board, where I just get a blank (white) screen.This is really confusing to me because the tutorials I have watched on the topic never have to configure the clock and thus don't run into this issue. Thanks in advance!

Are there any power management ICs available for STM32N657X0?

Hello,observed that both the CM4 and CM7 cores are resetting (NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q), whereas it is expected that only the CM4 core should reset due to the Window Watchdog (WWDG2). For verification UART is configured in cm7 printing counter value. observe that after some value the counter is rested to 0, that means both cm4 and cm7 is resting, using stm32cubeide for code flash.Best Regards

Hi Team We are looking for Processor or Controller which supports EtherCAT G and SPIAwaiting Your Reply ..

We're looking to replace our F105 processors in the next generation of a an automotive application.We want more flash,2 I2c ports2 SPI ports3 UARTspreferably 4 CAN ports, but atleast 3, 2 of the CAN ports should support CAN-FDand more hardware security features than F105 provides (we're in the early stages of defining what we need. In particular understanding what TrustZone provides compared to what you can get from STM32F423).Low power consumption in stop mode is important as well.At a first glance F423 looks like a good candidate since it's mostly sw/pin compatible and has a subset of security features. But at this point I'm not sure whether it's enough to fulfil our security needs. And not having CAN FD support might be a blocker.Do you have any suggestions on other lines of processors that could fulfill the role the F105 has filled for us?I've started reading some app notes. Any other resources that you can recommend?AN5156 - Introduction to security for STM32 MCUsAN4904

Hi,I am trying to use the Clock and weather application code that has some driver for wifi to test the module but it seems the net_conf_es_wifi_spi.c from the driver is trying to init SPI4 instead of SPI2 as per the schematics on st.com website. why is there a difference in SPI and other GPIO pins? what is the correct pins that needs to be initialised?

Hi,I am not able to understand the pin mapping in stm32h7b3i-dk (default pin mapping). I wont be using stmod+ but I need to use analog audio input (3.5mm Audio jack in) . By using the default set of pin mapping is it possible to use TouchGFX monitor and analog audio input without pin conflict? I tried to check this out myself my I am slightly confused about this. Thank you in advance!

Hello,Did not find the code to read battery level from BLE bas service.Is there any sample code?Thanks

I am new to STM32.  I am on an Apple Silicon M2 Mac.  The IDE appears to be solid, installed properly, and working consistently.  The STMH7 family seems pretty well established, so I am confident it is a self induced issue! :)I have downloaded and installed version 1.17.0 of STM32CubeIDE and STM32CubeProgrammer.  I have watched a few videos from ST folks on youtube and the process appears very straight forward.When trying the steps to build an Example program for the first time or two, I have gone through the various updates of the IDE and firmware as recommended.When rebooting the Mac and launching the IDE, I create a new "default location" and create a new project from the available Examples.  I choose the STM32H7B3I-EVAL board, then create a project from the Example Selector named "LedToggling".  The IDE copies stuff over to my project directory and eventually opens the main project window.While it copies the example project into my new project, I see t

I have a Nucleo-H7S3L8 board that I have been using for development, but it is no longer able to connect to download binaries. I had previously been able to connect, but now when I try to run code using STM32CubeIDE, the ST-LINK GDB server fails with the message:Target no device foundError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target. I also tried connecting with the STM32CubeProgrammer and I get a window that pops up with "Error: No STM32 target found! If your product embeds Debug Authentication, please perform a discovery using Debug Authentication".In the Debug configuration, the type is "Connect under reset". I've tried different cables and different computers. I don't have another Nucleo board, but I've confirmed that I can connect and load code into a board with an STM32F411. What else can I try?
